CD Review: "The Jane Dear Girls" - The Jane Dear Girls

CD: The Jane Dear Girls
Artist: The Jane Dear Girls
Release Date: Feb. 1, 2011
Label: Reprise

I gotta start this review out with 2 words, Thank God!

The Jane Dear Girls are a breath of fresh, clean air in the current world of female country artists. Everyone’s trying to be like everyone else, with the exclusion of a handful of artists, but not The Jane Dear Girls. They're reminiscent of Taylor Swift in style but definitely different, both in image and sound, unique and are true to who they are. Their cd is no different. You won’t find twangy, “Woe is me, wah my boyfriend left me, let me tell y'all all about it” music here. These girls are strong and it shows in their music.

The campy and charming lead in single, "Wildflower", took the charts by storm and made a name for this pair. Listeners love it's infectious tone and it's catchy lyrics. The rest of the cd is just as bold and adventurous. Now don't think every song on the cd is gonna have you up and dancing, it also showcases the duo's slow and delicate vocal abilities with melodies like "Saturdays in September" and "Never Gonna Let You Go".

Susie Brown and Danelle Leverett have done it right. The Jane Dear Girls are on the country music map and this is a destination I'll definitely come back to. Way to go girls on a great cd. Now, stop reading this and go buy it!

You can find the cd on iTunes, Amazon and in stores starting today, February 1, 2011. Seriously, stop reading and get it now!
