Opry to Host 80th Birthday Bash for "The Possum". Guest List Includes Country Newcomers and Legends ...

The Grand Ole Opry is the host for"The Possum", George Jones', 80th birthday party during Sept. 13's Tuesday Night Opry. Guest performers for the bash who will be gracing the historic stage include newcomers Blackberry Smoke and Eric Lee Beddingfield, as well as legends such as Joe Diffie, Alan Jackson, Jamey Johnson, Montgomery Gentry, the Oak Ridge Boys and Pam Tillis. The Opry is also hosting a Facebook Birthday Bash Dessert Contest, and Jones will judge the top three recipes during the show. The winner will win a trip to the Opry's Birthday Bash in October and a chance to have their dessert featured on the Opry Backstage Grill menu.
