Artist: Florida Georgia Line
Release Date: May 2012
Label: Big Loud Mountain Records
Longtime fans of Florida Georgia Line have been patiently and quietly waiting for the big break they knew was on the way for Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard and it looks like that wait is over. Since the start of the year, they've signed with Big Shirt Publishing and are now certified songwriters, been selected to perform on one of country’s biggest summer tours, the 2012 Country Throwdown Tour, alongside artists such as Gary Allan and Rodney Atkins, their first single, “Cruise”, from the brand new cd, is getting regular airplay on Sirius XM’s “The Highway” which is hosted by GAC’s Storme Warren, Jason Aldean is cutting their song, “Black Tears” on his upcoming cd and now their second project has been released. I have a feeling that 2012 is gonna be the year that these guys finally make their mark, if they haven’t made it already. Get ready country music fans, Florida Georgia Line is coming at you like a spider monkey jacked up on Mountain Dew.
“It’z Just What We Do” is one of our favorite projects to be released so far this year and once you listen, you’ll know why. It’s pure rockin’ country, nothing more, nothing less which is exactly what you get when you attend a FGL live show. You won’t find fluffy crossover filler on this EP. Why you ask? Because this is country music and these homies don’t play that. These guys stick to what they’re best at, rockin’ their fans' faces off. The lead single, “Cruise”, is gaining some crazy momentum with new listeners and with good reason, it just makes you wanna truly roll your windows down and cruise, just like the lyrics say. It’s got a great upbeat tempo that keeps you moving and a hook that reels you in and keeps you coming back for more and there is plenty more to be had.
From their amped up, energetic live show favorite “Tip It Back” to the more mellow “Get Your Shine On” and the other two songs, “Tell Me How You Like It” and “It’z Just What We Do”, this EP may not have an overabundance of tracks, but it does have 5 tracks that you won’t skip over and there is not one song on the cd that will make you wish you hadn’t spent money on the entire thing. They’re smart like that. Fill it up with music people will actually listen to, each and every song. That being said, go get it on iTunes and Amazon so you can listen yourself!
Well done guys, well done! Now it’s time for me to pop open a cold one and “Tip it Back” to you!
