JOSH TURNER TAKES OVER THE TUBE

Country Star to Appear on PBS’ A Capitol Fourth (July 4), Good Morning America (July 11), and The Late Show with David Letterman(August 23) in Support of No. 1 Country Billboard Album Debut, "Punching Bag"

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Viewers in favor of the "most recognizable voice in country music," get ready to set the TiVo. The multi-platinum selling hit-maker and recent No.1 Country Billboard Album beholder, Josh Turner, will ring in Independence Day on PBS’s A Capitol Fourth Wednesday, July 4 at 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. CT with performances of “Firecracker” and "The Star-Spangled Banner," backed by the National Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, next week, he’ll perform on ABC’s Good Morning America and then return to late night on The Late Show with David Letterman on August 23.

Turner’s fifth studio album debut, Punching Bag, debuted at the top of the Country Billboard charts and currently remains in the Top 10. It was also met with praise by critics: “On Punching Bag, Turner once again proves he ranks among the most effective - and most hard-core country performers of his generation," wrote the Associated Press, and the Washington Post adds, "These days, it seems like every male country artist wants to sound like Jon Bon Jovi fronting Def Leppard in 1985 — except for Josh Turner, who might be the only million-seller left in Nashville making contemporary country albums without the slightest whiff of arena rock or pop." PEOPLE Magazine also gave the release a highly commendable 3.5 out of four stars.

After his appearance on Good Morning America, Turner will perform for fans in New York City July 12 at the Best Buy Theater, presented by Cracker Barrel Old Country Store®. To purchase tickets, visit www.Ticketmaster.com.
