Sold-Out Concert Raises $125,000 For Children’s Charities
NASHVILLE, TN (December 19, 2012) – Platinum-selling country singer Jake Owen is bringing some extra cheer to this holiday season by raising $125,000 for children’s charities at his annual foundation concert in his hometown of Vero Beach, Florida, on Saturday, December 15, 2012.
The “Barefoot Blue Jean Night” hit-maker wrapped his first headlining tour, CMT ON TOUR JAKE OWEN: THE SUMMER NEVER ENDS 2012, with a sold-out concert at the city's Vero Beach Sports Village. All of the proceeds will benefit the Jake Owen Foundation, which supports St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and youth organizations in Indian River County, Florida, including Autism Speaks and the Mardy Fish Foundation.
Over 6,200 fans attended and Jake is grateful for their support. He shares, "A huge thank you to everyone in Vero Beach Saturday night for an awesome show and helping us raise money for such a great cause. I can’t think of a better way to end the CMT Tour and this amazing year!"
Earlier this month, the American Country Awards Breakthrough Artist of the Year set the record for the CMT Tour’s most consecutive sold-out shows to date. His high-energy live show and captivating songs have garnered the attention of headlining acts (Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw) and media alike. In 2013, Jake will join Jason Aldean’s NIGHT TRAIN TOUR.
Since releasing his chart-topping album, Barefoot Blue Jean Night, Jake has emerged as one of country music’s leading vocalists. The album has delivered three consecutive No. 1 hit singles, the first two of which held the top spot on the chart for multiple weeks - the PLATINUM-selling title track, GOLD-certified “Alone with You" and “The One That Got Away.”
