(Nashville, Tennessee...) -- Sony Music artist Angie Johnson, whose Sing For You EP is currently available, was invited to sing the "Star Spangled Banner" at the USO Tampa Army Ball Saturday evening at the Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort. The event commemorated the 238th birthday of the U.S. Army and was highlighted by the keynote speech of General Lloyd Austin, III, Commander of U.S. Central Command.
Also included in the event was the ceremonial creation of "The Grog," a concoction of numerous kinds of alcohol representing every war and conflict in which the U.S. Army has participated over the past 238 years.
U.S. Army Col. Jose Garcia presented Angie, who is a Tech Sergeant in the Air National Guard, with a plaque thanking her for supporting the U.S. military.
