PRESS RELEASE

Nashville, Tenn. (Oct. 6, 2014) – Mercury Nashville / 19 / Interscope Records artist Scotty McCreery, who is currently climbing the country music singles charts with his Top 20 hit “Feelin’ It” from his sophomore album See You Tonight, has grown up before the nation’s eyes since winning the tenth season of “American Idol” at age 17. He’s earned a Platinum album, three Gold singles, a Top 10 hit, and headlined his first tour, all while graduating high school and taking college courses. On Thursday, Oct. 9, one of America’s favorite young performers hits another huge milestone when he turns 21.

McCreery asks that if his fans are thinking of sending him a gift, they consider making a donation to the 12.14 Foundation. The singer/songwriter serves as a National Goodwill Ambassador for the Newtown, CT-based foundation that plans to build a multi-purpose performing arts and education center as a beacon of hope and positive change for use by and to benefit people everywhere. McCreery has made multiple visits to Newtown to meet with families there since the 2012 shooting tragedy which shocked the nation.

“I’ve got such wonderful, generous fans, and they have been e-mailing my fan club asking what they could send me to celebrate my birthday,” said McCreery. “They’ve already given me far more than I could ever have imagined by letting me live out my dreams, so I would like to encourage the fans to donate to the 12.14 Foundation. Together we can support a great organization doing positive things in a town that is still recovering. Let’s help them reach their goal of building a state-of-the art performing arts and education center. That would be the best birthday gift I could receive.”

Donations can be made by visiting the organization’s website at http://www.1214foundation.org/donate/. For those mailing checks, donations can be sent to 12.14 Foundation, P.O. Box 90, Newtown, CT, 06470.

McCreery will continue to support the organization when he bring his “See You Tonight Tour” with special guest Danielle Bradbery to the Toyota Oakdale in Wallingford, CT on Thursday, Dec. 4 for a 12.14 Foundation Benefit Concert. In conjunction with Live Nation Concerts, he will host a VIP pre-show party. Those attendees who purchase a VIP Pre Show Party Package will be able to meet him and hear him perform in an acoustic setting, while enjoying appetizers and beverages before the show. There are two ticket options available for purchase at oakdale.com and livenation.com. Tickets for just the concert itself are $55*, $45* and $35*. A limited number of the VIP Pre Show Party Package tickets - that also includes the concert - are available for $150*. (*additional fees apply)

After celebrating his birthday, McCreery will return to the road with upcoming dates in Fayetteville, NC (Oct. 17), Toms River, NJ (Oct. 18), Bethlehem, PA (Oct. 19) and many more. McCreery is currently touring in support of his sophomore album, See You Tonight, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums charts and features both his Gold-certified, Top 10 hit “See You Tonight” and his current Top 20 and climbing single, “Feelin’ It.” His record-breaking, Platinum-certified first album, Clear As Day, debuted at No.1 on the Billboard Top 200 charts, making him the first country artist, as well as the youngest artist, to do so with their debut studio album. Clear As Day, which features fan-favorite songs such as “Trouble with Girls,” “Water Tower Town” and “I Love You This Big,” reached No. 1 on five separate Billboard charts – Billboard Top 200, Top Current Albums, Digital Albums, Internet Albums and Top Country Albums. McCreery, who won the tenth season of "American Idol" in 2011, was named the Artist of the Year: Breakthrough Artist at the 2013 American Country Awards.
