Straight out of the tropics comes a new single from Country Music artist David Adam Byrnes. “When In Rum” is just what the doctor ordered to patch up a broken heart this summer. Like and follow him on Spotify and Apple Music to be the first to stream and download the new music on the July 7 release date.
“There are plenty of songs about beer, whiskey, and we even have one about tequila,” said David Adam Byrnes. "I thought it was time to let rum have its spotlight. It was a very fun song to write and it really came to life in the studio. I’m ready to see how the fans react to it.”
“I’ve been here the last three days
Getting burnt by the sun in a Blue Chair haze
Rum running my cares away
I don’t know where she is now
She packed up and I went south
To get a little lost in a tourist town
I’m living like a local now
When in rum
You go with the flow, lay low in the tide
Take the hurt from a heartbreak, put it on ice
Pour a blue ocean view and time in a cup
Find an island girl and mix it up
When in rum…”
“When In Rum” was co-written by David Adam Byrnes, Jay Brunswick and Carlton Anderson and produced by Bart Busch and Byrnes. Busch also served as engineer and mixer. Studio musicians included Mark Beckett (drums), Jimmy Carter (bass), Bobby Terry (acoustic guitar), Bart Busch (piano) and Rob McNelley (electric guitar).
