With heartfelt lyrics tying memories to the future, “Hometown Never Leave Me,” the new single from rising young country music artist Taylon Hope, indicates her growing talent. The new music was co-written by hit songwriters, Kirsti Manna and Bill DiLuigi along with Taylon and is available now for streaming and download on all digital music platforms and the video in support of the new song will be available in upcoming weeks. The song shares all that how special her hometown in North Carolina is to Taylon. Moving to Nashville when she was twelve to pursue her career as a country artist, her family had to leave the special town of West Jefferson behind to chase her dream. The special thing about a hometown is that you can leave it, but it will never leave you. The people from her hometown have surrounded her and supported her with a special love that keeps her going daily. Just like the song says, “There is always a huge part of me that loves the peace of the mountains, that loves talking to people on the side of the road that I know, and going into the old beautiful church at the end of my Nanas road to pray.”
“Hometown Never Leave Me” was co-written with two incredible writers I admire in many ways. This song is so special to me, and I hope others can relate to it, knowing that no matter where they might go, their hometown will never leave them,” expressed Taylon Hope.
“It is always fun writing with Bill and Taylon. It wasn’t hard to find the inspiration since the three of us are very sentimental about our hometowns. We all felt that no matter how far we go from those special places, our hometowns will be in our hearts. They helped shape us and gave us the confidence to venture out and follow our dreams,” shared co-writer Kirsti Manna.
“The way I remember it, Taylon and I were writing with a friend a week or so before that lives way out in the country and there were some cars and trucks stopped in the middle of the road with people just talking to each other and shooting the breeze. She said it reminded her back home, so that idea made it into the song,’ reflected co-writer Bill DiLuigi.
“Gas up at the Texaco, in somebody else’s map dot
In the shade of the interstate don’t look much like a Hot spot
But someone else’s coming home to
Reminds me of my Rearview go to
That’s when I miss it a lot
And when I see people talking
in the middle of a backroad somewhere
Makes me wanna find the time to
Stick wildflower up in my hair
Even if I put wings on my roots
A thousand miles on these boots beneath me
(my hometown) hometown never leave me
Hey Porchlight with your halo on I’ll catch ya when I’m able
Hey welcome sign if you don’t mind stand like my guardian angel
You’ll never let me get too far
From who I am that’s who you are …”
