DARIUS RUCKER BRINGS NEW MUSIC FESTIVAL TO HIS CHARLESTON, S.C. HOMETOWN THIS FALL

Riverfront Revival Set for October 8 and 9 at Riverfront Park

Multi-Platinum entertainer Darius Rucker has partnered with one of the Southeast’s leading entertainment agencies, SRE Entertainment, to fulfill his longtime dream of bringing a unique music festival to his beloved hometown of Charleston, S.C. Set to take place Saturday, October 8 and Sunday, October 9 at North Charleston’s beautiful Riverfront Park, the family-friendly Riverfront Revival music festival presented by Discover South Carolina will feature curated offerings of the Lowcountry’s best food, libations, art and culture along with music performances mixing the best of country and rock.

In addition to a headlining performance from Rucker himself, the two days of entertainment will also include performances by Brothers Osborne, Trampled By Turtles, Jimmie Allen, Charley Crockett, SUSTO and more across two stages from 1-11 p.m. daily.

“Anyone who knows me knows how much I love Charleston,” shares Rucker. “For years now, I’ve had this bucket list dream of bringing together a bunch of friends to perform in a way that also showcases this incredible city and all it has to offer. I can’t wait to see it become a reality this fall – and I hope the fans are as excited as we are!”

“Riverfront Revival will be the perfect culmination of feel-good music across genres set against the beautiful backdrop of the Cooper River,” adds SRE Entertainment Partner Rob Lamble. “We’re thrilled to bring a new fall music tradition to the Holy City, and are honored to be doing so with Darius Rucker and his team.”

“Darius is a home-grown star with a genuine love for his state, making him an incredible ambassador for South Carolina,” notes Duane Parrish, Director of the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism. “We are all looking forward to celebrating South Carolina’s Lowcountry and welcoming thousands of visitors to this one-of-kind music festival in October.”

General admission tickets start at $124.50 per person (plus fees), with payment plans starting at just $25 down. VIP tickets start at $399.50 per person (plus fees), with payment plans starting at $50 down. VIP ticket holders will have access to a dedicated entrance lane, priority viewing areas at both stages, VIP lounge areas, premium restrooms, a dedicated bar and more.

Part of Rucker’s passion for his hometown includes an innate desire to give back to the community, instilled by his late mother who was a nurse at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). He has raised millions of dollars for the hospital throughout his career and will continue to do so via Riverfront Revival, with $1 of each ticket sold supporting the MUSC Arts in Healing program. MUSC’s board-certified and registered Arts in Healing therapists work with children and adults to identify, explore and transform emotional, psychological, physical and spiritual difficulties through Clinical Art and Music Therapy.

“There is a national children’s mental health crisis and South Carolina is no exception,” shares Mark Scheurer, M.D., Chief, Children’s & Women's Integrated Center of Clinical Excellence at MUSC. “The MUSC Arts in Healing program provides a safe and tangible method for our patients and families to address underlying fears, anxieties and concerns in the clinical environment. The joy and healing the therapy team helps create is possible because of our community and philanthropic-minded people like Mr. Rucker.”

Tickets will be available in three phases, each starting at 10 a.m. ET via RiverfrontRevival.com:

CHUCK WICKS TEAMS WITH JIMMIE ALLEN ON COVER OF CLASSIC STEPHEN BISHOP TRACK “ON AND ON” - AVAILABLE TODAY

Listen to “On and On” HERE

Today singer/songwriter and country music personality Chuck Wicks releases his latest, a cover of the classic Stephen Bishop track “On and On,” featuring multi-Platinum recording artist Jimmie Allen. Following “Old with You,” dubbed by MusicRow as an “ultra-romantic ballad” that “swoons with images of lasting love, tempered by tenderness, gratitude and joy,” today’s release on Verge Records is a perfect companion song empathizing with people who have had trouble finding that forever love which “Old with You” celebrates.

Written and originally recorded by Stephen Bishop in 1977, “On and On” has been covered several times over the years including versions by Kenny Rankin, British reggae group Aswad and most recently Jonathan Coulton. However, this is the first cover of the hit song by a country artist. And the track is tailor made for the genre, weaving a forlorn country tale of heartbreak and cheatin’ as old as time.

“‘On and On’ was one of the first songs I learned on a guitar. Because of that I always thought it would be awesome to put it on one of my records and now is the right time,” shares Wicks. “It’s never been covered in Country music which amazes me because the original has always struck me as a crossover record with country roots. Having Jimmie Allen featured on this song takes it next level and gives it new life for today’s sound while staying true to its classic form.”

Earlier this month Circle Network launched its first animated series “Road Stories.” Hosted by Wicks, the innovative series features the multihyphenate entertainment personality interviewing country artists including Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Brett Young, Jon Pardi and more who have been transformed into animated characters to relive their greatest stories from being on the road. The 30-minute, weekly primetime series airs Friday at 10 p.m. ET on Circle. In addition to “Road Stories,” Wicks can be heard every Monday and Thursday with fresh episodes of his iHeart podcast “Talk to Chuck.”

#NEWMUSICFRIDAY - JIMMIE ALLEN RELEASES TITLE TRACK TO SINGER’S “SLOWER LOWER SESSIONS” ... CO-WRITTEN BY ASH BOWERS AND RANDY MONTANA

Country music’s “Artist to Watch” debuts new song, “Slower Lower,” as an homage to Delaware hometown

Stoney Creek Records’ Jimmie Allen today released new song, “Slower Lower.” Since May, the critically-acclaimed Country newcomer has shared one new track each month as part of a series called the “Slower Lower Sessions,” all of which were inspired by memories growing up in the ‘Slower Lower’ region of Delaware.

“Slower Lower” is a feel-good tune that depicts life in Milton, the small coastal town where Jimmie was raised. Incorporating footage of Allen with his family and friends enjoying the blue skies and cool waters of Delaware, the singer also released a video that pays tribute to his hometown. As Whiskey Riff describes it, “he paints a picture of simplicity, and good clean livin’ we all could use a little more of. It’s an ode to those hometowns and the way of life that live deep in your soul.”

“This song encompasses everything about life in the Slower Lower from going fishing to going to church and all of the good times in between—the area has a great laid-back vibe and I think the song captures that light-hearted feel,” said Jimmie Allen. “This place and these people have shaped the man I am today—I carry them with me everywhere I go which is why this song and all of the Slower Lower Sessions mean so much to me.”

Jimmie, who’s debut single, “Best Shot” who is rocketing up the charts (currently at #30), has been on the road this summer, playing festivals across the country while also working on his full-length debut album, due out later this year.

Additional tracks from the “Slower Lower Sessions” include “21,” “Happy Hour” and “Warrior.” “Slower Lower,” written by Jimmie Allen, Ash Bowers and Randy Montana is available for purchase HERE.
