Purchase "Whole Lot of Livin" on iTunes

North 40’s newest single “Whole Lot Of Livin’” is a “Live while you can, cause it ain’t gonna be forever” song. North 40 is a girl duo comprised of Paige Logan who grew up in Arizona and moved to Nashville the first chance she got and Heather Herren-Looney from Shreveport, Louisiana. Heather moved to Nashville with her husband not too long after, ended up meeting Paige Logan and the two perhaps realizing that their voices and accents blended together wonderfully, formed a duo and the rest is history!

Actually, the rest is before they ever met, they tried to stray away from such a risky life decision but the music drew them back. Heather got married and had a career as an interior decorator and Paige Paige was a realtor. All the hallmarks of a secure, stable life. One where you knew day-to-day what to do, where to go, and where the next paycheck was coming from. One where, though in Nashville, music and performing was not nearly present enough. After deciding that they wanted desperately to get back in the music industry and take that leap, (Perhaps meeting as their paths of interior decorating and realty could have possibly passed?) They started performing together and became the North 40 that you hear today.

Heather and Paige have smoky-sweet voices colored by age and experience, it shows in both their writing and their singing. “Old enough to know better, but I’m far too young to give a damn, well they say nothing good can last forever but forever ain’t never been in my 10-year plan.” could really be anthemic for any age, depending on how you feel. How “carpe diem” or “carpe nox” you feel. Live it up people you’ve only got a short while. This song inspires you to live it up and pursue adventure at any age, from 16-60. It’s such a positive song with a little mischievous smirk in it. It’s saying “go on, get a little crazy, perhaps go skinny-dippin’, road-trip to somewhere you’ve never been before.” Don’t let the idea of someone’s life for you dictate your life, find adventure and keep finding it. Life is quick, make sure you’ve done everything you’ve wanted and then some. What a great message to carry with you, and shake you out of your everyday doldrums if you have them. If you don’t, you’re the embodiment of this song, and always, always, always seek new experiences and live like you do. “I want to die from a whole lot of livin’” is a superb sentiment and how Paige and Heather end this song. Certainly an amp you up song, beautifully sung, and leaving me wanting more!

START REQUESTING - IMPACTING COUNTRY RADIO SOON - "WHOLE LOT OF LIVIN' - NORTH 40

Purchase "Whole Lot of Livin'" on iTunes

The follow up to "Tell Me Something Good," "Whole Lot Of Livin" is the newest chapter in the lives of North 40 - a creative collaboration with a tight fusion of sweet and spicy harmonies and songs that hit home with the core country listener.

Though relatively new as a music duo, the friendship of Paige Logan and Heather Looney goes back almost two decades. Both originally moved to Nashville to pursue music careers, and as life, family, children, etc., sidetracked them a bit, they never lost sight of their artistic dreams. Finally, and after realizing that the music they were hearing on the radio was not speaking to them or their demographic – the core country listener – they decided to take matters into their own hands…‘cause life begins at North 40.

The single is available for purchase now on iTunes as a track on their debut cd, "Sing Your Own Song".

PRESS RELEASE

It’s been a while since Paige Logan and Heather Looney chased their dreams to Nashville. Logan came from Safford, Ariz., where she studied piano, taught herself guitar and mandolin and soaked up the sounds of her dad’s LP and 8-track collection. In 1993, she and her sister hit the road for Music City; a year later, Paige was there alone, beginning a long stretch of day jobs and determination.

Meanwhile, Looney and her dad had been performing around Shreveport, La. Going solo, she relocated frequently before settling in Nashville with her husband a year after Logan’s arrival. Eventually the two crossed paths, and their 20-year friendship culminated in their debut album, Whole Lot Of Livin’, produced by Paige’s husband Mills Logan and Leigh Reynolds. Rhymetown Entertainment released the debut album in January.

Vocal blends distinguish this duo. They embrace vibrato as an expressive device. When they drop it for a few beats, as in the higher passages of “Far Too Long” (written by Logan and Looney), the impact is dramatic. They also avoid the upper register, concentrating on the contralto range; the result is a honeyed, rich quality that draws listeners in as if to a whisper. And they sing almost exclusively in harmony; when one breaks into a solo line and the other improvises some churchy backup on “Don’t Make Me The Reason” (Logan and Looney), the moment seems to spark from the speakers.

Is there life over 40 in Country Music? You betcha.

Sing Your Own Song Album Hits Tomorrow

"July 16th, 2013 was a red-letter day," recalled Paige Logan, who wrote the single with duo partner Heather Looney. "My daddy called and told me he had been diagnosed with lung cancer that had already metastasized to his brain. That phone call was the beginning of a series of calls, all recounting the bad news. Heather and I were writing that day and after I finally put my phone down I turned to her and pleaded, 'Will you just tell me something good?!' She looked at me square in the eyes, took my hand in hers and said, 'I'm gonna tell you something good, we're gonna write that.'"

North 40 will perform the new single, which was which was produced by hit producer/songwriter/musician Leigh Reynolds and Grammy Award-winning engineer Mills Logan, on Nashville's popular "More at Midday" show on WSMV-TV.

Heather and Paige wrote or co-wrote all 13 songs on their Sing Your Own Song CD. "This album is a unique mix of high energy songs, like 'Hey Girl Hey,' the rockin' lead single which is a true party anthem for women everywhere and will have you singing along," wrote Ashlie Kolb in an album review for "The Better Show." "Ballads like 'Wine Song,' gives listeners a more sultry side of North 40. There's no doubt the duo's vocal harmonies blend effortlessly making Sing Your Own Song a refreshing new sound and a strong debut album that is a must listen to."
