AARON LEWIS HAS NO. 1 SELLING COUNTRY ALBUM IN AMERICA

Frayed At Both Ends Sells More Copies Than Any Other Country Record
As “Everybody Talks To God” Resonates with People Across the U.S

Aaron Lewis doubled down on his unfiltered take on a kind of country long-forgotten with Frayed At Both Ends (The Valory Music Co.). Stripped even further back, the project was built around songs the songwriter had written – for the first time with friends – and allowed the room to give the emotional charge and musicianship full rein. The result is an album that is the #1 selling album in America this week based on physical sales and digital downloads.

With a core band of Academy of Country Music Guitarist of the Year Tom Bukovac, Country Music Hall of Fame Medallion Ceremony band leader Biff Watson and bluegrass award winner Seth Taylor, who joined Grammy-winning Dan Tyminski on acoustic and mandolin, dobroist Ben Kitterman, and supplemented with Sturgill Simpson vet Laur Joamets acoustic slide and baritone where needed and Jim Moose Brown on keyboards, Frayed was a real record capturing human interaction and a voice hailed by the Los Angeles Times for its “mournful baritone.”

“The players assembled are beyond the very best,” Lewis says. “To hear them in a room is so much more than just what they play, you feel the intentions and emotions of the songs. To strip things back this far is scary, but with players this good, it also turns into something thrilling.”

Having previously earned two No. 1 Billboard Country Album debuts, State Line and Sinner, the decision to slash everything back to the essence was a sonic decision predicated in large part by the songs he’d written. After 10 years in Nashville, having dedicated a large portion of his life country music, he wanted to cut to the core of what the music meant to him.

He’d also made enough friends, he’d started – organically – writing with Grammy-winner Tyminski, Nashville Songwriters Hall of Famers David Lee Murphy and Jeffrey Steele, ACM Award winner Ira Dean and hard country writer Chris Wallin. Wallin’s “Everybody Talks To God,” 20 years without being recorded, was the performance for Lewis’ “Fox & Friends” appearance on Monday. Response to the guitar and string section performance took the song to #2 on the iTunes all-genre Songs chart and the album to #5 on Amazon’s physical sales chart.

“Great country songs prove life can be distilled down into 3- and 4-minute books and movies,” Lewis offers. “This is how people who need to work are actually living their lives. Mistakes get made, consequences happen, hearts get broken – and then you have to deal with that. Frayed, like a lot of the Merle Haggard records in the ‘80s, deals with those things. And ‘Everybody Talks To God’ suggests that no matter what you think, ultimately, and it’s what makes this song great, you’re going to speak to God.”

Having recorded with George Jones, Willie Nelson, Charlie Daniels, Vince Gill, Alison Krauss, Mickey Raphael, the Cox Family and Ben Haggard, Lewis built a singular place in Nashville by absorbing his grandfather’s 8-tracks. As importantly, he’s now maintaining the space for adult music occupied by mid-career David Allan Coe, Hank Williams, Jr and Waylon Jennings.

Mixed by Chris Lord-Algae, the 5-time Grammy-winning engineer captured the warmth of what is becoming Lewis’ most successful tour – his Frayed At Both Ends: The Acoustic Tour -- and left room to let the splinters and reckonings that once made country such a good place to drown one’s sorrows and figure out how to move on from the wreckage one creates stand out.

#ITSAMUSTLISTEN - AARON LEWIS RELEASES "FRAYED AT BOTH ENDS" - A STRIPPED DOWN TAKE ON CLASSIC MID-CAREER HAGGARD/COE COUNTRY

Performance of “Everybody Talks To God” on
'Fox & Friends' Jan. 31

Having had two #1 Billboard Country Album debuts with Town Line and Sinner, Aaron Lewis has quietly made an impact on country music without flexing to let everyone know what a big deal he was. With a decade invested in a genre that’s seen him record with Willie Nelson, George Jones, Charlie Daniels, Vince Gill, Alison Krauss, Mickey Raphael, the Cox Family, and Dan Tyminski and producer Buddy Cannon, the 15-million selling front man of Staind doubled down on "Frayed at Both Ends".

Starker, more acoustic and with the focus on what The Los Angeles Times cited as “his mournful baritone,” Frayed is a meditation on shrinking opportunities, mistakes made, consequences of our actions and squaring up to it all with the dignity it takes to be a full-grown man. Drawing on the tattered reality and stoicism of Merle Haggard, the yearning of David Allan Coe’s "Darlin’ Darlin" era, the ragged fringe of Johnny Paycheck, Lewis collaborated with many of the songwriters who’ve become his friends over the last dozen years for the first time.

“Over the years, you hang out and one thing leads to another, and you’re writing songs,” the deep voiced songwriter explains. “When you’ve got Chris Wallin, Dan Tyminski, Ira Dean, Matt McGinn, Jeffrey Steele or David Lee Murphy sitting there talking, songs just tend to fall out. And when you realize what you've got, you just keep going. These are all men who know country music’s depths, so for all of us, we got to write songs you don’t hear every day.”

That same truth applies to the recording. While co-producing with musical collaborator Ben Kitterman and Ira Dean, they drew on the wealth of top-flight musicians who’ve become core to reflecting the tavern country sound Lewis’ heard on his grandfather’s George Jones, Waylon Jennings and Haggard 8-tracks. Guitarists Tom Bukovac, Biff Watson and Seth Taylor, dobroist Kitterman, acoustic slide and baritone guitar from Sturgill Simpson veteran Laur Joamets, keyboard player Jim Moose Brown, and acoustic guitar/mandolin from Tyminski were the core band.

“The beauty of country music is that often less is more,” Lewis says. “These songs did the work, all we needed to do was support them. These players are so gifted, they can say more in a few notes than a lot of people... It was a privilege seeing them bring these stories and feelings to life.”

With the post-Dust Bowl country of the reap-what-you-sow “Get What You Get,” the broken “Pull Me Under,” the minor keyed double entendre road life lament “Life Between Bars,” the dobro-heavy acceptance lullaby “Kill Me Like You Love Me,” high lonesome memory that can’t be outrun “Waiting There For Me” and the hopeful closer “Someone,” Lewis built on the starkness of “Am I The Only One,” his #1 Billboard Hot Country Songs debut – only the ninth such debut since the chart’s debut in 1958 – of frustration voiced and manifested.

To celebrate Frayed’s release, Lewis returns to Fox & Friends on Jan. 31. With a performance of “Everybody Talks To God” taped at an intimate concert for the troops at Kentucky’s Fort Campbell, Lewis will talk about the new album, his commitment to country music and his stripped down Frayed at Both Ends, The Acoustic Tour.

Mixed by Chris Lord-Algae, the 5-time Grammy-winning engineer made the warmth of the playing and depth in the room undeniable. For fans of Lewis’ haunted, brass tacks kind of country music, this is the essence of what he’s been chasing since arriving in Nashville to make music that honors the roots of his raising. Having invested in the community, the community has become an outgrowth of that love for the splinters and reckonings that once made country such a good place to drown one’s sorrows and figure out how to move on from the wreckage one creates.

TUNE IN ALERT: AARON LEWIS TO APPEAR ON HALLMARK’S HOME & FAMILY APRIL 25

Adds Additional Dates to 2017 Schedule

Aaron Lewis will debut a brand new song called "Folded Flag" on Hallmark's Home & Family show on April 25. The powerful and heartfelt song pays tribute to all those men and women who serve our country.

"It all started with the haunting melody, and the picture of two young lovers," Lewis said of the song. "Bringing to mind the realities, and sacrifices that our veterans live everyday. Many of us have The Folded Flag in common, and I hope that we can all honor our veterans and their families, forever."

The self-proclaimed “Northern Redneck” and Staind frontman achieved critical and commercial success with SINNER earning him the #1 position on the Top 200 Albums, Top Country Albums and Top Digital Albums Charts upon release.

The 12-track project, voted one of Whiskey Riff’s 40 Best Country Albums of 2016, was recorded in only 16 hours at Nashville’s Blackbird Studios with producer Buddy Cannon (George Strait, Merle Haggard, George Jones). Lewis single-handedly penned eight of the songs, in addition to covering Chris Stapleton’s “Whiskey and You” and The Dixie Chicks’ “Travelin’ Soldier.” Lewis collaborates with Willie Nelson on the album’s title track while Grammy® Award-winning artists Alison Krauss, Dan Tyminski and Vince Gill are also featured.

SINNER was also one of Billboard’s 10 Best Country Albums of 2016. "The no-holds-barred honesty of tracks such as “I Lost It All” and “Mama” were some of the finest writing from a male artist this year." – Billboard

The Boot raves, “Aaron Lewis shows a surprising understanding and respect for country music with his latest album, SINNER. Drawing from his childhood influences of listening to country music in his grandfather's car, SINNER shows Aaron's abilities as a singer, songwriter, musician and stylist. SINNER might just be the record that propels Aaron to a permanent place in country music.” Maverick Magazine’s Eric Dahl concurs, “Aaron Lewis brings a raw honesty to his songs on the new album SINNER that Country Music radio hasn’t heard in a long time. The imagery of the lyrics sucks you in, but his mournful voice and guitar keep you!

AARON LEWIS' NEW ALBUM SINNER DEBUTS AT #1 ON iTUNES ALBUMS CHARTS

American Songwriter Premieres "That Ain't Country" Video

Serves Up Budweiser One Night Only Concert Series in NYC on November 15

Cover Art Courtesy of Dot Records

Aaron Lewis delivers the “authentically country” (Wide Open Country) SINNER today on Dot Records, marking his third solo project in the genre. Already summiting the iTunes All Genre and Country Albums charts this morning, the entire album was recorded in 16 hours at Nashville’s Blackbird Studios under the helm of legendary producer Buddy Cannon (George Strait, Merle Haggard, George Jones). Lewis single-handedly penned eight of the 12 tracks, including “That Ain’t Country,” which he performed on FOX & Friends yesterday (9/15). The lead single serves as a commentary on the current state of “country, if you can call it that,” as Lewis pines for the sound of his honky-tonk heroes.

“I have certainly not kept my feelings a secret about some of the stuff that is popular today,” expressed Lewis. “Sometimes it is hard for me to even recognize Country music and that is why it was very important to me to go back to my roots and record a more traditional album. This is the type of music I grew up listening to and I to make sure that my influences like Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard and Waylon Jennings are reflected in my record.”

Filmed at the iconic Ernest Tubb Record Shop in Nashville, American Songwriter exclusively premiered the Jim Wright-directed music video. Watch “That Ain’t Country” now.

Beginning October 24, legions of fans can see Lewis’ live show throughout his SINNER TOUR and as he joins the Budweiser One Night Only concert series at the Beacon Theatre on November 15 for MSG Live, in association with Big Machine Label Group and Cumulus Media. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Saturday, September 17 at 10:00AM. The Budweiser One Night Only concert series is a joint initiative between The Madison Square Garden Company and the brewer, as part of the long-standing partnership between the two organizations.

As Lewis continues to build his strong fan base early praise fuels his Country music pedigree. Gayle Thompson from The Boot raves, “Aaron Lewis shows a surprising understanding and respect for country music with his latest album, SINNER. Drawing from his childhood influences of listening to country music in his grandfather's car, Sinner shows Aaron's abilities as a singer, songwriter, musician and stylist. With guest appearances from Vince Gill, Alison Krauss, Willie Nelson and Dan Tyminski, SINNER might just be the record that propels Aaron to a permanent place in country music.” Maverick Magazine’s Eric Dahl concurs, “Aaron Lewis brings a raw honesty to his songs on the new album SINNER that Country Music radio hasn’t heard in a long time. AARON LEWIS CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT / BENEFIT CONCERT RAISE $250,000 FOR 'IT TAKES A COMMUNITY FOUNDATION'

Lewis and Wife Pledge Grants to Multiple Nonprofit Organizations

PRESS RELEASE

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (August 21, 2014) –  The fourth annual Aaron Lewis & Friends Benefit Concert, held on June 27, and the third annual Aaron Lewis Invitational Golf Tournament, held on August 9, raised a combined total of $250,000 for the It Takes a Community Foundation (ITAC), a charity founded by Lewis and his wife in 2010. One hundred percent of the proceeds were donated to the foundation, which helps to revive rural communities across New England by providing assistance that strengthens, enriches and preserves local towns. The Lewis’s foundation supports initiatives that improve community life — particularly the lives of children — within rural areas.

“It Takes a Community began when my wife and I joined with neighbors in our small adopted home town to keep the doors of our community school open after state funding was eliminated due to district consolation,” explains Aaron. “It started out as something very personal and close-to-home, but is morphing into something bigger. If we can make a difference in our little corner of Massachusetts, couldn't we give additional worthy organizations in our area a similar leg up?”

Helping to reopen and fund the RH Conwell School as a private community education center was the catalyst and origin of the It Takes A Community Foundation. The school has also been the primary beneficiary ITAC’s fundraising efforts since 2010. However, over the past year the residents of Worthington successfully lobbied the state for special legislation that allows the tax dollars of their town to stay in Worthington rather than be pooled into the regional school system.

Vanessa Lewis was elated to announce to the attendees of the ITAC Charity Golf tournament that, “As of September 2015, our school will once again be a public elementary school for the children of Worthington, Mass.” She went on to explain, “This milestone of self-sufficiency will allow It Takes a Community to continue its growth goals and mission by increasing the number of organizations that receive grant money from the ITAC foundation.” For example, in addition to the R.H. Conwell School, this year’s concert and tournament proceeds are being shared among Big Brothers Big Sisters of Franklin County, Greenfield Education Foundation and the YMCA of Hampshire County’s Camp Norwich Improvement Fund.

“We have seen first-hand the necessity for smaller communities to have a voice and to determine their own local needs and priorities,” said Aaron. “My wife and I are extremely happy and proud that the R.H. Conwell School is reopening as a public elementary school and we're excited to expand the foundation and take on new projects.”

AARON LEWIS PLANS 4TH ANNUAL "IT TAKES A COMMUNITY" FOUNDATION BENEFIT CONCERT

PRESS RELEASE

Waterbury, CT (May 20, 2014) – It Takes A Community Foundation (ITAC) and Premier Concerts announce special guests for the 4th Annual Aaron Lewis & Friends concert, to include Brent Smith and Zach Myers from hit-making rock group Shinedown along with a rare acoustic performance by award-winning rockers Staind making it an unforgettable show.  The benefit concert will take place at The Pines Theater at Look Park in Florence, MA on Friday, June 27 at 5:30pm.

Aaron Lewis and his wife Vanessa founded It Takes A Community Foundation when the State of Massachusetts eliminated funding for the R.H. Conwell School in Worthington, MA. The school had served the children of the hill towns in the area since the 1940s and was one of the only community buildings in tiny Worthington.  The school closure was devastating to the entire community.

Aaron and Vanessa founded ITAC in July 2010 to save the school.  The support provided through ITAC provided the bulk of the funding to reopen the public facility as a private community school open to all local students.

The R.H. Conwell experience demonstrated that rural communities can help themselves if residents work together and have adequate resources. Under the leadership of Aaron and Vanessa Lewis, ITAC now provides funding and guidance to a wide array of organizations that play a vital role in connecting people within rural communities.

The charity works with local leaders and community organizations that have firsthand knowledge of the needs of their communities. It strives to raise funds and support these community groups who strengthen, engage and enrich the communities they are in, sustain diminishing public services and provide assistance to communities in crisis.

Tickets are general admission, with prices range from $59-79 plus Ticketmaster service charges. Tickets are on sale and can be purchased online at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling (800) 745-3000.

AARON LEWIS, CMT, AND BLASTER RECORDS PARTNER FOR A HIGH SEAS ADVENTURE

"Set Sail Aboard The Simple Man Cruise With Aaron Lewis”
Sweepstakes To Launch July 10

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 9, 2013) – Coinciding with the launch of his new single, “Granddaddy’s Gun,” Aaron Lewis, Blaster Records and CMT have partnered to give one lucky fan and their guest a four-day adventure aboard Lynyrd Skynryd’s Simple Man Cruise VII. Lewis will be performing for the first time on the seventh annual excursion of the music intensive getaway, which departs Miami on October 20 and visits Key West and Great Stirrup Cay before returning to Miami October 24. The sweepstakes will officially launch July 10 at sweepstakes.cmt.com.

CMT debuted the video for “Granddaddy’s Gun”, directed by Jim Wright for Taillight TV, on July 4. Shot in Watertown, TN, the music video depicts the power of family and the traditions they share between generations. The video is also available for streaming on CMT.com via on.cmt.com/1cIxczw.

“Granddaddy’s Gun” is the latest single from Lewis' critically acclaimed album The Road. The song, which was written by Rhett Akins, Dallas Davidson and Bobby Pinson, marks the first time Lewis has ever recorded a song that he didn’t write.

“I was on a hunting trip with Rhett and he grabbed a guitar and started playing me the song,” recounts Lewis. “He was about halfway through the first chorus and I knew I was going to ask for his blessing to put it on my record. It was very much the kind of song I could have written. The lyrics really closely portray my life.”

The song shipped to radio in late June and is being greeted warmly by programmers. “’Granddaddy’s Gun’ is a smash that speaks to the heart of our format,” says Kerry Wolfe, Program Director of WMIL/Milwaukee. “It’s a song about family and values passed down from generation to generation. It’s a song about my audience.”

The winner of the "Set Sail Aboard The Simple Man Cruise With Aaron Lewis” sweepstakes will be presented with a once-in-a-lifetime prize package that includes a cabin for two on board the Norwegian Pearl plus round-trip airfare and local transportation for themselves and a guest for Simple Man Cruise VII. The lucky winner and their guest will also have the opportunity to get to know Lewis and bowl a few games with him at the ship’s bowling alley.

AARON LEWIS SET TO HOST 3RD ANNUAL "AARON LEWIS AND FRIENDS" BENEFIT CONCERT FEATURING JERROD NIEMANN, CRAIG MORGAN, ERIC PASLAY, AND JARED ASHLEY

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (May 14, 2013) – It Takes a Community Foundation (ITAC), the charitable 501(c)(3) organization started by multi-Platinum recording artist Aaron Lewis and his wife Vanessa, along with first-time partner KIX 100.9 Pioneer Valley's Country, will host the third annual Aaron Lewis & Friends benefit concert on Friday, June 14, 2013, starting at 7:30 pm at The Mass Mutual Center, located at 1277 Main St in Springfield, Mass.

The night promises to include plenty of surprises and highlights, as Aaron announces friends Jerrod Niemann, Craig Morgan, Eric Paslay and Jared Ashley have joined the all-star lineup. Reserved seating is available for $35 per ticket, and premium VIP tickets are available for $109 per ticket by visiting Ticketmaster.com Proceeds from the event will benefit the ITAC.

Aaron took some time to reflect on what ITAC’s Aaron Lewis & Friends means to him and how it has evolved over time:

It Takes a Community Foundation began when Vanessa and I joined with neighbors to keep the doors of our community school open after state funding was eliminated. It started out as something very personal and close to home but morphed into something bigger. We asked ourselves, ‘If ITAC could make a difference in our little corner of Massachusetts couldn’t we give additional communities a similar leg up in other forgotten areas of rural New England?’”

“We moved to Worthington, Mass. because we wanted our children to grow up and go to school in a community where everyone looks out for everyone else. We had this wonderful school with great energy and small classes, but we were told that we were going to lose all of that, and our kids were going to be bused far way to a distant school. We weren’t going to stand for that,” adds Vanessa Lewis.

Tim Van Epps, CEO of ITAC adds, “ITAC works with local leaders and community organizations with firsthand knowledge of the needs of their communities. We raise funds and support organizations or efforts that strengthen, engage and enrich rural New England communities, improve the lives of children, sustain diminishing public services, and provide assistance to communities in crisis. Initially, the projects have been focused in western Massachusetts. As ITAC matures, we will continue to seek opportunities to support efforts in other communities throughout New England.”

CONCERT REVIEW / EXCLUSIVE PHOTOS - AARON LEWIS AT THE COUNT BASIE THEATER - RED BANK, NJ 1/25/13

Artist: Aaron Lewis
Date: 1/25/13
Venue: Count Basie Theater
City: Red Bank, NJ

If you're wondering who Aaron Lewis is, you're probably not alone. Aaron, although a music veteran as the lead singer for the rock group Staind, is a newcomer to country music after making connection with his country roots in 2011 with his debut cd, "Town Line" and debut hit single, "Country Boy". Now that you know who he is, you need to see his live performance.

Aaron captivated those in attendance at his performance at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, NJ on January 25, 2013. Lewis' simple acoustic style is effortless yet amazing, easy going yet powerful. Being in the  audience of an Aaron Lewis show is like sitting on the couch while he performs in your living room. He makes each performance personal, intimate and emotional. With his grainy, raspy vocals he can make you forget about everything and everyone around you except the song he's singing to you at that moment. His passion for music and for the songs he writes evident in every note, he pulls you into his world, into the story he's telling. With songs like "Massachusetts" and "The Story Never Ends", he tells you of his memories and pride of where he comes from, the love he has for his past, his present and his future. "The Story Never Ends" describes his neighborhood, the people he calls friends, and the place he calls home. He also shows his softer, sentimental side with "Tangled Up in You", a simple and compelling declaration of love to the one he loves. "Country Boy" is who Aaron Lewis is at heart, who he is proud to be. The rocker side of him may reflect in his tattoos, however the country side of him is what reflects from the underneath his deceiving appearance. He's a simple yet complicated man, proud, and honest in who he is and that is refreshing in today's country music world. He also performed two of his newest singles, "Endless Summer", a more upbeat tempo song and his latest hit, "Forever".

Every Aaron Lewis show is one that you will remember, one that will measure miles above others, and will leave you with a feeling of respect for his music and a sense of pride as you climb into your car and head home.

Thank you Aaron Lewis for what you do, how you do it and why you do it.

AARON LEWIS' "THE ROAD" HITS SHELVES TODAY, NOVEMBER 13

Nashville, Tenn. (November 13, 2012) — The highly anticipated full-length solo album, The Road, from Blaster Records’ multi-platinum selling artist Aaron Lewis hits stores today, November 13. Co-produced by Lewis and Nashville hit-maker James Stroud, The Road, follows Lewis’ debut solo EP, Town Line, which bowed at #1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart last year.

The Grammy Award-nominated, multi-platinum singer, songwriter, and guitarist tells one story after another on The Road. Echoing traditional country, some of those tales are hilarious and heartwarming, while others are pensive and personal. Nevertheless, they're all equally powerful, vibrant, and unforgettable.  For Lewis, The Road continues to wind and surprise like it always has.

Featuring ten songs, with all but one (“Granddaddy’s Gun”) written by the Lewis, The Road unfolds with a classic grit and an invigorating energy all directly from Lewis's heart and soul.  The new album has resonated with the Boston Herald, who went as far as proclaiming Lewis “the state’s first country king.”  The Chicago Tribune says, “The Road is one of the best and most cohesive country releases of the year," while GAC notes Aaron Lewis and The Road “creates a work that honors country tradition while injecting his own soul and experience." Country Weekly declares “The Road is just getting smoother for the country music version of Aaron,” and the popular country blog, Roughstock.com, concludes, "The Road is positive proof that Aaron Lewis has the musical goods and can most certainly deliver.”

"Forever," the current single just released to radio November 12, is a true product of the road itself. The new song captures the longing and loneliness of life on the tour bus, while reflecting the immortality of true love. It's touching and thought-provoking all at once.  A live acoustic version of "Forever" is available as part of an iTunes-exclusive deluxe version of the album along with four other live acoustic tracks.

Fans can visit AOL’s The Boot to view exclusive behind-the-scenes video with Lewis explaining much of his inspiration while writing for the new album. Visit, http://www.theboot.com/2012/11/13/aaron-lewis-the-road-video

New Full-Length Album, The Road, In Stores Tuesday

Nashville, TN (November 8, 2012)— The new music video for “Forever,” by Blaster Records’ Aaron Lewis, is set to make its World Premiere during CMT’s "Big New Music Weekend" starting Friday, Nov 9 at 6am ET/PT and running throughout the weekend.

Lewis penned “Forever,” which addresses the toll time apart can take on a relationship, while on tour earlier this year.
