HAPPY 25TH ANNIVERSARY TO AARON AND THEA TIPPIN

This year not only marks 30 years in the music business for country music's Aaron Tippin, but it also seals his 25th year of marriage to his wife, Thea.

Today, July 15, the "Hardest Workin' Man in Country Music" and his better half are celebrating their silver anniversary.

"Can’t believe she’s put up with me for 25 years," says Aaron. "I’m the luckiest man alive. She’s the wheels behind everything."

Aaron and Thea have worked together since the early days of his career and co-wrote his No. 1 smash hit “Kiss This,” along with many other songs. They started their companies Tip Top Entertainment and Nippit Records in the mid '90s.

"We’ve been so blessed to have always been able to do life together, whether it’s work, play or raising a family," adds Thea. "It doesn’t get any better than that."

Aaron and Thea Tippin reside in Liberty, Tennessee and are the proud parents of two boys, Ted and Tom.

During a time of national uncertainty, GRAMMY® Award-winning country music group Shenandoah is looking to brighten spirits with a special Facebook Live performance event that will bring music to the masses. Today the legendary country band announced "Keep the Music Playing," a free live-streamed concert set for tonight, Wednesday, March 18, at 7 PM / CT. Amid concert postponements nationwide, the event will provide a unique opportunity for fans to enjoy live performances from the comfort of their living rooms.

Shenandoah has enlisted Michael Ray, Aaron Tippin, Austin Merrill, T. Graham Brown, and Katie Austin to join them during the live web broadcast. The event, sponsored by Foundry Records and hosted by Inside Edition's Megan Alexander, will take place at Nashville's SIR Rehearsal Studios with no live audience and minimal staff.

"The main mission here is to hopefully, with music as only music can, bring some sunshine to the gloom," says Shenandoah frontman Marty Raybon. "We'll be taking all of the recommended precautions to ensure everyone's safety."

Butch Spyridon, president and CEO of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp, is thrilled about the event. "We are happy to see artists doing everything they can to 'Keep the Music Playing' during these challenging times as we try to keep the virus from spreading," he says. "Seeing all the ways that live music is still being shared is part of the creative spirit in Music City."

Though the event is free to view online, the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp Foundation / Music City, Inc will be accepting donations throughout the live broadcast. All donations will aid Middle Tennesseans who have been affected by COVID-19 and the recent tornadoes that ravaged the area.

AARON TIPPIN SWIMS WITH MERMAIDS TO RAISE MONEY FOR VETS

There are hundreds of occasions country singer Aaron Tippin has given back to United States military veterans over the years. From visiting wounded vets to performing throngs of benefit concerts and performing overseas, Tippin is known as one of the most patriotic singers in country music. Now the "Where the Stars and Stripes and the Eagle Fly" singer can add another checkmark to his long list of veterans support: swimming with mermaids!

Last week at the Sip 'N Dip Lounge in Great Falls, Montana, Tippin transformed into a celebrity merman to raise funds for the Grace Home Veterans Center. Tippin joined several mermaids for a swim in the lounge's indoor pool, visible through a giant window in the bar.

"If you told me I would be swimming with mermaids in a bar in Montana wearing a merman costume I would have told you you're crazy, but that's exactly what I did," says Tippin. "When our friend and bar owner Sandi Thares asked me to do it for the Grace Home Veterans Center, I couldn't say no. It was a blast and now I have a new respect for how tough it is to be a merman."

The sold out event also featured a live performance by Tippin, as well as his wife Thea (a Great Falls native) and son, singer-songwriter Tom Tippin. While visiting Great Falls, Tippin also made time to visit with several veterans who reside at the Grace Home Veterans Center.

EXCLUSIVE JAMBOREE IN THE HILLS INTERVIEW: AARON TIPPIN

EVENT: Jamboree in the Hills
DATE: Sunday July 16, 2017
ARTIST: Aaron Tippin
INTERVIEWER: Charlie Woods

Follow Charlie on Twitter at @ConvictCharlie

Jamboree in the Hills has come to an end for another year but man what an event it was. Our team member and super cool human being, Charlie Woods, was on site for us again this year covering the fun and had a chance to sit down and talk for a few minutes to country superstar, Aaron Tippin. Huge thank you to Aaron for his time, we greatly appreciate it and know how little of it you have so we're so glad you chose to spend some of it with us! A huge thanks to Craig Wilkins for supplying the photos used in this article. Craig is a longtime photographer of this event. Check out his website at craigwilkins.com for great photos and content!

Charlie: What have you learned from having your own record label?

Aaron: Music is fun again! It has really been a pleasure to be able to do what you want to do. When we decided on our last album "25" the only people whom we had to consult with were myself and my wife.

Charlie: At this point in your career, what are your particular artist goals?

Aaron: I'm just trying to live another day...

Charlie: Do you still get a buzz hearing your songs on the radio?

Aaron: The biggest kick I get out of hearing my songs is when someone does karaoke to something I wrote.

Charlie: Learning how to fly airplanes is something you've always liked to dabble in... How often do you currently fly?

Aaron: I fly quite regularly, about 2-3 hours a week. At the farm we have a small airstrip, but most of the planes I own are housed at the local airport.  I currently have a J-3 Cub, Steerman as well as another for parts, T-6, and a Malibu. I'm still a certified Mechanic as well as a Flight Instructor and have taught both my sons how to fly.

Charlie:What makes a perfect day for you, whether it be at home or on the road?

Aaron: Twisting wrenches in the morning and flying in the evening.

Charlie: Does your family ever come with you when you go out on the road?

Aaron: If the show is close and doesn't interfere with the boys school schedule. My son actually plays a little bit and at age 15 got his first check from the Grand Ole Opry!

Charlie: Do you have any advice for new artists starting their career?

Aaron: Make sure you love it!  It is a whole different world than when I started out. Don't take anything for granted, and appreciate it everything that comes to you... just because you had one hit doesn't mean your next single will be a smash.

Charlie: What part of the music business excites you the most currently?

Aaron: Song writing will always be number one to me, and I just want to make the best record possible. Editing and producing is something I have really been enjoying lately.

AARON TIPPIN RESPONDS TO USE OF SONG BY TED CRUZ CAMPAIGN

Country music fans who were tuned-in to last night's national news coverage of the Iowa caucuses likely heard a familiar tune following the big win by Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz.  Aaron Tippin's hit song "Where The Stars And Stripes And The Eagle Fly" was blaring loud and proud over the speakers as Cruz took to the stage to proclaim victory in the Hawkeye State.

"So many people have been calling and texting telling me they heard Stars And Stripes last night," says Tippin.  "Man, I'm so proud that my song still resonates so loudly in America.  I'm not endorsing anyone but I hope that my song will help get folks out there and do their patriotic duty… vote!"

AARON TIPPIN TO RELEASE NEW MUSIC IN CELEBRATION OF 25th ANNIVERSARY

'Aaron Tippin 25' Set for Release on March 2, 2015; Two-disc Album Features 25 Songs with All-new Music and Freshly Recorded Versions of Tippin's Biggest Career Hits

Cover art credit: Glenn Sweitzer

PRESS RELEASE

Nashville, Tenn. (February 10, 2015) - Twenty-five years is a huge career accomplishment, especially in the music business. Aaron Tippin, who marks his silver anniversary as a recording artist this year, is celebrating his career milestone by releasing all-new music. On Monday, March 2, 2015, the "Hardest Workin' Man in Country Music" will release Aaron Tippin 25 (Nippit Records) a collection of recordings that reflects on the old and shines with the new. The two-disc, 25-track album features freshly recorded versions of ten of Tippin's biggest career hits, as well as 15 new songs. This anniversary compilation marks the first time Tippin has released new music in over six years.

"I had so much fun writing and recording this stuff," says Tippin. "It's always great to get to sing the old hits which have brought me to where I am now but it's also energizing to do new songs. I co-wrote with some awesome writers for this project."

Fans can expect to hear new versions of Tippin classics including, "You've Got to Stand For Something," "There Ain't Nothin' Wrong With The Radio," "Working Man's Ph.D," "Kiss This" and "Where The Stars And Stripes And The Eagle Fly." New songs on the album include many that were co-written by Tippin, such as "I'm A Mechanic," "God's Not Through With Me Yet," "Real People," "Without A Kiss," "That Makes Me Thirsty" and "Easier Unsaid Than Undone," a duet he sings with his wife Thea and written by the original "Kiss This" writing team of Aaron, Thea and Philip Douglas.

"I even recorded five songs that you'd probably never expect to hear me sing," notes Tippin. A few of the more surprising songs Tippin included on the compilation are Frank Sinatra's "The Way You Look Tonight" and the Georgia Satellites' "Keep Your Hands To Yourself." "My son Tom sings with me on Al Green's 'Let's Stay Together' and man, I'm proud of that!" he says. "And I put a gospel tune on there that I wrote over 30 years ago and I had the whole Tippin family sing on it. It's called 'The House Of The Lord.'"

On 25 years gone by, Tippin reflects and says, "I think about it and go, 'Wow. What am I doing still here?' I am the luckiest hillbilly that ever lived."

Aaron Tippin 25 will be available for purchase online exclusively at www.aarontippin.com.
