SAYING GOODBYE: FRIENDS AND FANS MOURN THE LOSS OF CHRISTIAN ARTIST AND AMERICAN IDOL TOP 9 CONTESTANT MANDISA

It was confirmed today that the voice of another angel on earth has moved on to sing in the choir of angels in heaven - we'll miss your voice, your spirit, your heart and your love of what's right. Thank you for being a light in the dark for so many. Your music and legacy will live on long after today. Rest easy, Mandisa.

Official Statement on Mandisa's Facebook Page:

"We can confirm that yesterday Mandisa was found in her home deceased. At this time we do not know the cause of death or any further details. We ask for your prayers for her family and close knit circle of friends during this incredibly difficult time.
Mandisa was a voice of encouragement and truth to people facing life’s challenges all around the world. She wrote this song for a dear friend who had passed in 2017.
Her own words say it best.
"I'm already home
You've got to lay it down
 'cause Jesus holds me now—
And I am not alone"

Tributes have been pouring in on social media:

From X:

@Matthew_West:

"I am so incredibly saddened to hear about the loss of my friend Mandisa. I will always cherish the memories of times we spent together hosting award shows, going on tour, and most of all helping her tell her story in the songwriting room. The first song she released after appearing on American Idol was a song we wrote called “Only the World” and the lyrics hit different right now…

Heaven is a place
Where the tears on every face will be wiped away
Oh and I can't wait to go
But for now, it's enough to know
This is only temporary
This is only
Yes it's only the world I'm living in
It's only today I've been given
There ain't no way I'm giving in
'Cause it's only the world
I know the best is still yet to come
'Cause even when my days in the world are done
There's gonna be so much more than only the world for me"

@DonMoen:

"The news of Mandisa's passing this morning was truly a shock. We ministered together several times, she sang background vocals on my album 'Thank You Lord' and joined me on several tours. Whether behind the scenes or center stage, her presence always brought joy and hope."

@StevenCurtis:

"Heartbroken over the loss of this beautiful soul. Her voice, her heart, her joy will be missed by us all this side of Heaven…and so thankful for the living hope that she sang (& now sings in the presence of Jesus) so powerfully about…it’s all true!
Mandisa, we’ll see you in a little while."

@JasonCrabbMusic:

"Mandisa was a friend to everybody. I was blessed enough to share the stage with her numerous times and watched her bring people together. She lit up every room and everyone around her. Her music & story touched many with the love of Jesus. Join me in praying for her family today."

@DannyGokey:

"Devastated to hear about the sudden loss of Mandisa. Her joy was infectious & I loved her heart to encourage people on & off stage!  When I made my debut in Christian music she was my greatest supporter. Mandisa you left too soon—our community will never be the same without you."

@MissMandyHale:

"I don’t even have words. It can’t be true. Mandisa, my beautiful friend, the loss of you and your great big beautiful heart is a devastating blow to all who were fortunate enough to know you. I hope you are now at peace in the arms of Jesus. I love you always.
❤️πŸ˜’πŸ’”"

@BethMooreLPM:

"I have never known a more beautiful woman in every possible way than Mandisa. Our only consolation in this terrible loss is having gotten the privilege to serve with her so many times and love her deeply. I will forever recall the event when I said to Travis, oh my gosh, we’ll never be able to keep her. She will spring from this nest and fly to a much larger stage. And, boy, did she. We will love you forever, Mandisa. And see you soon."

@RobLostinTime:

"I had the pleasure of meeting Mandisa in the Orlando Airport. I recognized her and introduced myself and thanked her for her witness on AI. She was amazing, gracious and welcoming! She thanked me for the encouragement and hugged me. God bless you Mandisa! Rest in Him!"

@JosephWittig:

"My wife just shared that Mandisa had passed away. Very few people light up rooms when they enter. She had that. Beautiful voice, beautiful soul."

@DarleneRyner:

"I’m in tears. I became a fan of hers when I saw her on American Idol. Her music has helped me through some tough times. Praying for her family and friends."

@sadlyiasked:

"Mandisa was a cultural reset and a real gift for us all. Her presence on that show was truly unique as she utilized her talents to create a career for something greater than herself and continued to release music that united so many with her voice, terrible terrible news."

@kathleen_gowen:

"Oh no! What a voice! What a gift to the World! She’s now adding to the choirs of Heaven.  Praying shalom over her family."

@thecrazypastor:

"The world was a bit brighter when Mandisa was in it."

@Power36Flower:

"πŸ’”πŸ˜’ I am deeply saddened by the news of her passing. She was an incredibly talented musician and her music has had a profound impact on my life. She will be greatly missed, but her legacy will live on through her music."

@girlfrombama_xo:

"I met Mandisa back in 2011 at a concert that her and Matthew West did at my church. She was so sweet. Her talent will be missed."

@JOSEPHKAMOOTI:

"Thank you Mandisa for sharing your love of Jesus with us through your music. Your music inspired thousands, myself among them. Our Heavenly Father called you home. We thank Him for sharing you with us for a moment. R.I.P.  πŸ™πŸΌπŸ˜”"

FROM FACEBOOK:

TBN:

"She was a brilliant performer and source of encouragement, contributing to TBN programs over the years. She inspired countless lives with her uplifting music and message of hope. We join the many who mourn her loss and we offer our deepest and most sincere condolences to her family and loved ones."

Natalie Grant:

"I can’t quite find the words. When I learned of your passing yesterday, I begged God for it not to be true. I remember making our Opry debut together. We were so excited. But I remember our conversation so vividly. You belonged there. You always belonged, Disa. Your smile and infectious spirit lit up every room. You were a true champion of others. I was the benefactor of your encouragement more times than I can count.
Thankful for your music, your honesty and testimony that helped thousands upon thousands of people find the hope of Jesus. I loved sitting by you at awards shows so we could geek out at every performance. We were both true Christian music fans, and unashamed of it. I remember when you FINALLY became a football fan. Your love for the Titans rivaled my love for my Seahawks. I loved your laugh. You were a true beauty inside and out. There will be a hole in the heart of our community that will never be filled until we see you again. I rejoice that you’re in the arms of Jesus, whole in every way, and understanding just how completely loved you have always been. Love you, my friend."

Elliott Yamin:

"Sweet Mandisa! I don’t even know where to start. I’m so deeply saddened to wake up to this news of your passing this morning! Mandisa was a constant beacon of light and hope and positivity with/for EVERY single human she encountered. She was steadfast in living out her purpose through her faith and religion and touched so many people along the way.  Mandisa reached out to me after the birth of my daughter, blessing her and my family, and that was the last time we connected. About 4 years ago. My thoughts and well wishes are with her family at this time. Mandisa, I will never forget you and your light.
It was an honor to walk through the American Idol experience with you! RIP!"

Kelly Crabb and the Bowling Sisters:

"Mandisa was an inspiration to me, and she was a staple on my playlist. My girls have learned to sing while listening to this girl give us her everything and THEN SOME. 🫢🏻 After the bus wreck of 2010, 2011 brought a season of exercising, trying to rehab my back that had been severely broken.  I listened to the song “Stronger” no less than a million times while I struggled with that elliptical. Hoping to be STRONGER, not realizing that it would turn into a LIFE theme for us. Stronger. There’s a line in the song that says “the pain ain’t gonna last forever.” My girls cut that song 7 years ago when they were just kids. Mandisa is a staple to the soundtrack of their youth. They love her. I love her. We’re beyond sad at the news of her passing. 😭  Life is fragile, people are fragile, and as I type this, I’m completely sure that we could raise the bar on showing love to people while they’re here instead of after they’re gone. 😭  Me included. I didn’t know her, but I’m thankful for her. There have been days that her music GOT ME THROUGH IT.  I’m thankful that this beautiful soul will live on through those songs and I’ll forever listen to her tell me “WHEN THE WAVES ARE TAKING you UNDER, hold on just a little bit longer….He knows that this is gonna make you STRONGER.”
I’m praying for her family today. What a loss. 😭"

Rita Springer:

"Sometimes as much as I love words, there are none to find.  Grief can shut them up inside a soul and turn them into moaning. What I know about God most is that he carries those moans like melodies and calls it worship.  I loved Mandisa.  Her passion and joy for Jesus was evident in all she put her whole heart into. Our conversations were deep and costly.  When she believed in you she said it out loud and boldly! The loss of her is traumatic and quite devastating today.  This song she released a couple years ago was one I wrote that she heard and had to sing.   It was a message she said was “healing to her soul.” She wanted me to sing it with her and it was such an honor to do that! I know today her joy is complete and her great reward is seen. Thank you, Mandisa for seeing the ones you saw with such depth and recognition. You will be so incredibly missed here.
Until that day girl, sing louder than you ever have.  😭😭😭❤️❤️"

Taylor Hicks:

"Mandisa was a power house vocalist on our season of Idol and she graduated to a wonderful career in gospel music. Better yet she was a power house person and all of us will miss her dearly."

CHAPEL HART ANNOUNCES UPCOMING ALBUM "GLORY DAYS", OUT MAY 19

Trio tease new song “Welcome To Fist City,” inspired and requested by the late Loretta Lynn

Powerhouse country trio is set to perform on The CMT Music Awards April 2 on CBS

Pre-order Glory Days HERE

Powerhouse trio CHAPEL HART – comprised of sisters Danica and Devynn Hart and first cousin Trea Swindle – took the world by storm on America’s Got Talent last year with their show-stopping group golden buzzer performance of the Dolly Parton inspired track, “You Can Have Him Jolene.”

Dolly loved it, but she wasn't the only one who was impressed – the late Loretta Lynn also saw Chapel Hart's TV audition, and requested that the trio put their spin on one of her songs, too.

Today, the ladies, deemed “America’s Sweethearts” following the show, give fans a first listen to “Welcome To Fist City,” a song inspired and requested by the late country legend – with their take on Lynn's 1968 hit "Fist City."

Listen HERE.

“’Welcome to Fist City’ feels like 1968 revamped to right now,” shares Danica. “I really believe Ms. Loretta would’ve been so proud! I’d like to believe the generation who laid the foundation just wants to know that they are leaving country music in capable hands, and my prayer is that we are doing just that. I hope we are making them proud!”

The song is from their upcoming album Glory Days, due out May 19. The new album, the trio’s third, will be their first full-length project since finishing in the Top 5 on AGT and includes the title track and previously released single, “Glory Days.” Danica, Devynn, and Trea have a hand in writing every song on the much-anticipated new project which is available for pre-save/pre-add starting today.

“I’ve never been more excited about delivering new music to our fans,” shares Danica. “We’ve been through so much together and sharing the highs and lows of our ‘GLORY DAYS’ through song has indeed been the joy of our lives!”

Since America’s Got Talent, the ladies have quickly become a mainstay in the country music industry – they made their Grand Ole Opry debut in 2022, receiving FOUR standing ovations, and kicked off the new year with their 60+ date Glory Days headlining tour, and as previously announced, are set to perform at the CMT Music Awards on April 2nd on CBS.

Chapel Hart is quickly earning high marks from critics as they prepare for the release of their new album – GLORY DAYS – on May 19:

“The trio are here to lift our spirits and remind us all that the journey is just as
important as the destination"
- Holler

“…one of the most incredible acts to grace this genre in a long time.”
- Country Swag

"On the familial trio’s latest, 'Glory Days,' they return to the positivity and sass found on some of their earlier releases, along with their signature earthy, smooth harmonies."
- Billboard

“Chapel Hart relish in the current chapter of their career, which they refer to as the ‘Glory Days’…the new song depicts the highs and lows of their journey and reveals that even through the struggles, they’d do it all again in a heartbeat.”
- Country Now

“America's Got Talent stars-turned-rising-country-trio Chapel Hart deliver a new dose of joy, perspective and freedom with ‘Glory Days,’ a new song that soaks up every
second of the good times…"
- Taste of Country

“The trio — the Hart sisters and their first cousin Trea Swindle — mixes the sibling-infused harmonies of the Chicks, the cheeky humor of the Pistol Annies and the
turn-it-up moxie of Gretchen Wilson.” – Star Tribune

AMERICAN IDOL ALUM ALEX MILLER RELEASES ROCKIN'NEW VIDEO - "WHEN GOD MADE THE SOUTH"

American Idol alum Alex Miller’s new music video, “When God Made The South, offers further proof of his willingness to explore outside of the “traditionalist” lane. The single, a guitar-driven ode to the glories of Southern living, translates to a video that is a rowdy, raucous, and rollicking good time. The focus switches between Miller’s edgy performance and two shapely brunettes who dance their hearts out throughout.

The Miller family farm in Lancaster, Kentucky sets the scene for the dancers in crop tops and cut-offs who were filmed slinking through barns, hopping on four-wheelers, and climbing into pickup trucks. Close friends and family members, including Alex’s great uncles and his grandmother, joined the dancers to cut a serious rug throughout a vibrant bonfire scene.

Approximately 250 fans joined Alex and his band at the Silver Eagle night club in Rockcastle, KY - a honky tonk he played at in his early years - to film performance shots. Alex’s obviously hereditary slick dance moves are featured, along with those of the brunettes, Gracie Thom and Calloway Denton, who kept things steamy. Miller was teased by the crew for literally blushing during filming and editing. “I’ve led a pretty sheltered life, I guess,” Alex admits. “I mean those girls were so nice and so … athletic. It was kinda overwhelming. But it’s all good.”

Fans can keep up with Alex on his website, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube, and purchase the “When God Made The South” single HERE.

AMERICAN IDOL’S HUNTERGIRL READIES LABEL DEBUT SONG “HOMETOWN OUT OF ME” FOR FRIDAY, OCTOBER 21

Photo Credit: Easton Schirra

“It’s only been five months since HunterGirl ended her journey on American Idol, where she finished in second place, but she’s already making big moves in her Country music career” (Hollywood Life), as 19 Recordings/BMG today announces the signing of the powerhouse singer-songwriter.

Catapulted to fame on this year’s American Idol, the “Country singer with a bright future” (Hollywood Life) delivered star-making performances that Taste of Country called “impressive,” “shining,” “chill-worthy,” and “glowing,” winning her the hearts of millions across the country and enthusiastic praise from Idol judge and Country superstar Luke Bryan, who applauded her as the “new age Miranda Lambert” and his “favorite female Country voice.”

Up next – the budding Country star will release her first new music since wrapping the show with her label debut track – “Hometown Out Of Me” – on Friday, October 21. Written by HunterGirl with Laura Veltz and producer Jimmy Robbins, the deeply personal song is a thank-you letter to her hometown of Winchester, Tennessee. Pre-save/pre-add HERE.

Currently hustling out on the road, most recently with Justin Moore and Tracey Lawrence, HunterGirl will also kick-off her co-headlining tour with this year’s American Idol winner Noah Thompson on Thursday, October 27 in Columbus, Ohio.

“Despite missing out on the win, her crooning vocals and intimate original song, ‘Red Bird,’ has made her one to watch in the Country scene (American Songwriter). Skyrocketing to No. 1 on iTunes All-Genre and Country charts, “the budding Country star” (Taste of Country) performed her heartfelt and deeply personal original track “Red Bird” on Live with Kelly & Ryan and has appeared on Good Morning America.

Now, with a just-inked record deal and the release of her label debut song “Hometown Out Of Me,” driven by her distinct and genuine vocals, unwavering tenacity and heart of gold, HunterGirl is “settling in for what will be much longer than fifteen minutes of fame.” (Chattanooga City Lifestyle Magazine).

KEEP UP WITH HUNTERGIRL

ALEX MILLER DELIVERS GRITTY, GUITAR-DRIVEN ROCKER, "WHEN GOD MADE THE SOUTH", TOMORROW

American Idol alum Alex Miller’s fans have been eagerly awaiting new music, and tomorrow he delivers with “When God Made The South.” An anthemic, guitar-driven ode to the glories of Southern living, the track is a great send off to summer. “WGMTS” is as gritty as a gravel road, as raw as moonshine and as slick as goose … well, you know. It’s a bit outside of what most might consider Miller’s “traditional Country” lane, but the move was intentional and offers a glimpse at another side of this talented Kentucky-born vocalist. The track is available for pre-save now.

“I really took the Idol judges’ advice to heart,” Alex admits. “I get that I have to challenge myself and keep growing to keep going in this business. This song was perfect for me. It screams ‘hit’ and the minute I heard it I knew we had to cut it. The lyrics are straight on Country. If you just read them, you’d never know this single was so edgy, but Jerry’s production takes things in a whole different direction - and I think it is just awesome.”

There's no doubt He had a real good day
There were Blackberry's blooming in the red dirt clay
And the smell of Jasmine floating through the Pines
I bet He knew right then we'd love our chicken fried
And sweet tea to wash it down
When God Made The South

(Jerry Salley/C. Aaron Wilburn/Lee Black)

Early reviewers are sold on the track:

“I really struggle to think of a young artist as self-assured of his style and brand as Alex Miller. This single gives a nod to modern Country radio without sacrificing identity.”
- Billy Dukes, Taste of Country

“A trailer load of grits ain't got nothin' on Alex’s latest."
- Duncan Warwick, Country Music People

"Alex shows off his jammin' side with utmost perfection!"
- Preshias Harris, Nashville Music Line

“Best of all possible worlds – the past, present and future of Country - all wrapped up
in one song.” - Char Richards, The Life Box Media Channel

Produced by award-winning songwriter and industry veteran Jerry Salley for Billy Jam Records, “When God Made The South” is the first release from Miller’s second and upcoming album for the label. His debut CD, MILLER TIME, delivered three well-received singles: “I’m Over You, So Get Over Me,” “Don’t Let The Barn Door Hit Ya” and “Through With You” (which took Alex to the Top 35 of the Billboard Indicator Chart, and reached #2 on THE COUNTRY NETWORK with its companion music video).

We’ve been on a real journey together for the last 18 months,” says Salley of his relationship with Alex. “We’ve learned so much about each other on a musical - and personal level. What stands out the most to me is that he loves all kinds of music. As Country as Alex is, he can perform any type of music that moves him. He is not one dimensional. It is a blast to hear this kid stretch a bit outside of his natural zone and try something new. He is so young and can go so far, it should be fun for him.”
Miller’s had a blast to date; he loves the road and the energy of the crowds and this year he has shared the stage with Brooks & Dunn (Iowa State Fair), Jamey Johnson (Wisconsin State Fair), Generation Radio (Ohio State Fair), Niko Moon (Kentucky State Fair) and King Calaway (Oklahoma State Fair). Additionally, he’s headlined at the New York State Fair, opened shows for Diamond Rio and Sawyer Brown, and debuted at the popular Wild Rose Casinos in Iowa.

Upcoming performances and appearances include:

Oct 8 - Tulsa State Fair (Tulsa, OK) - opening for Aaron Watson
Oct 10 - Eddie Montgomery Golf Tournament (Danville, KY)
Oct 20 - Wolf Trap Farms (Vienna, VA) - PRIVATE
Nov 12 - Palace Theatre (Crossville, TN)
Nov 19 - The Lincoln Jamboree (Hodgenville, KY)
Dec 10 - Sedley Stewart Auditorium (Beattyville, KY)
Dec 16 & 17 - Christmas Shows TBA

Fans can keep up with Alex on his Website, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.

SCOTTY McCREERY’S RIAA DOUBLE-PLATINUM CERTIFIED “FIVE MORE MINUTES” INSPIRES TELEVISION MOVIE

“Five More Minutes” Premieres This Saturday, Nov. 20 on
Hallmark Movies & Mysteries

Tickets for McCreery’s 2022 Same Truck Tour On Sale Now

Inspired by Triple Tigers recording artist Scotty McCreery’s RIAA Double-Platinum Certified No. 1 single “Five More Minutes,” Hallmark Movies & Mysteries will premiere the television movie “Five More Minutes” this Saturday, Nov. 20 at 10 pm ET (9 pm CT), as part of their Miracles of Christmas celebration.

Watch the trailer HERE.

Written by Nikki Deloach and Megan McNulty, the film stars Deloach and David Haydn-Jones as a woman’s Christmas wish is answered in unexpected ways when her late grandfather’s journal turns up and reveals an untold romance. Though he is not in the movie, McCreery serves as an Executive Producer.

Co-written with Frank Rogers and Monty Criswell, McCreery shared, “It was a special day writing this one. We all sat down, and at first, I was just talking about my granddaddy. I always believed in it and thought it was a story that everyone could relate to—I feel like everyone has these things that they go back to and wish they had more time. We worked on this song for three or four different days, and a lot changed, and it took a while, but I wanted it to be perfect.”

Released as the first song from his RIAA Gold-certified album Seasons Change, “Five More Minutes” was ranked No. 2 on the iTunes country singles chart and No. 9 on the iTunes all-genre singles chart on the first day of its release in 2017, while it debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard Country Digital Sales Chart.

Earlier this week, McCreery’s third consecutive No. 1 single from Seasons Change, the RIAA Gold-certified “In Between” was named one of the Most Performed Songs of the Year at the 69th Annual BMI Country Awards.

Following his fourth consecutive No. 1 single “You Time” and the release of his fifth studio album Same Truck, McCreery recently announced plans for his 2022 Same Truck Tour across the U.S., as well as four new dates in Germany and the Netherlands, where fans can expect to hear his new single, “Damn Strait,” along with his multiple RIAA Platinum and Gold certified hits from throughout his decade-long career. For tickets and more information, visit ScottyMcCreery.com.

McCreery released Same Truck to applause from fans and critics, with Billboard sharing that hitmaker “continues proving his mettle not only in the recording booth, but in the writing room, as a co-writer on the bulk of the project’s songs,” while Tennessean shares, “McCreery walks a sonic tightrope that leans into his country influences while not abandoning modern Music Row hitmaking.”

Same Truck was produced by Rogers, Aaron Eshuis and Derek Wells, the team who produced Seasons Change, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart. McCreery co-wrote every song on that album.

#COUNTRYGIVESBACK - LAINE HARDY TEAMS UP WITH WILD WING CAFE AND LITTLE KIDS ROCK TO SUPPORT MUSIC EDUCATION IN SCHOOLS

Six Market Tour Kicking Off Dec. 2 Includes School Visits and Free Concerts at Wild Wing Cafe Locations in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia

American Idol Winner Laine Hardy is teaming up with Wild Wing Cafe, a Carolinas-born restaurant chain and Little Kids Rock, a national nonprofit that champions music education in schools, for a six-market tour that kicks off in Warner Robins, GA on Dec. 2 and concludes in Wild Wing Cafe’s headquarters city of Charlotte, N.C. on Dec. 10. Other stops include: Anderson, SC (Dec. 4), Raleigh, NC (Dec. 6), Savannah, GA (Dec. 7) and Columbia, SC (Dec. 9).

“Growing up in a town with a population of 2000, our schools didn’t have much of a music education program so I had to figure it out on my own with the help of my family,” said 21-year-old Hardy, a native of Livingston, Louisiana, who picked up his first guitar at age six. “It’s really important to me to help nurture the artists of tomorrow, giving back to my own schools and others through Little Kids Rock.”

In each market, during the day Laine will visit a Little Kids Rock partner school presenting musical instrument gifts and that night, perform a free concert including songs from his recently released debut album, Here’s To Anyone, at the local Wild Wing Cafe.

“For more than 30 years, live music has been an important part of the Wild Wing Cafe brand with now famous singers and songwriters performing on our stages early in their careers including: Luke Combs, Edwin McCain, Old Dominion, Zac Brown and Hootie & the Blowfish, to name a few,” said Wild Wing Cafe CEO, Steve Weigel. “Having Laine Hardy tour our stages strengthens our commitment to emerging artists and delivers a real treat to our guests.”

Since 2002, Little Kids Rock has reached more than a million students with highly inclusive and culturally relevant music education. Today, more than 550,000 kids currently participate in Little Kids Rock programs.

“We love this collaboration with Laine Hardy and Wild Wing Cafe because it allows us to further our mission of expanding music education in schools with a real-life success story while providing some excitement to students and Wild Wing customers,” said David Wish, Founder & CEO of Little Kids Rock.

AMERICAN IDOL ALUM ALEX MILLER RELEASES HOLIDAY SINGLE "THAT'S WHAT CHRISTMAS IS FOR"

American Idol alum Alex Miller’s latest single, “That’s What Christmas Is For” premiered Friday, November 5th, on People.com. The Kentucky native’s first holiday release for Billy Jam Records is sure to become a seasonal classic - offering a bright, brisk track highlighted by Miller’s warm baritone voice. Written by Nashville tunesmiths C. Aaron Wilburn and Jerry Salley, the record is available for pre-order now with a November 12 delivery.

"Well, it’s Christmas Eve around the tree
Excitement in the air
Mama brought some apple pie for everyone to share
And that chocolate fudge sure is good I think I’ll have some more
Well, I might gain weight but pass the plate
That’s what Christmas is for "

“I’ve been a sucker for catchy holiday tunes since I first watched the movie The Elf,” Alex admits. “I really liked the feel of this one – and all the memories of past Christmases it called up for me.”

The rising star has a sleigh full of happy holiday recollections: While attending Paint Lick Elementary School in Lancaster, KY, Miller performed in several festive plays and musicals. “Mainly it was to get out of English, math and social studies,” Alex confesses. “But I actually learned quite a bit. I was in The Nutcracker for several years -- once played a soldier and one year a tree. You can learn a lot about stage presence by playing a tree,” he adds with a laugh.

After a busy November and December on the road, Alex plans to spend this Christmas at his Dad's house with his Grandparents and brother Parker.

TOUR DATES

Nov 6 - Lexington, KY - National Anthem for SEC game (KY vs. TN)
Nov 12 - Hodgenville, KY - Lincoln Jamboree
Nov 18 - Greenville, TX - Texan Theater
Nov 19 - Buda, TX - Buck’s Backyard
Nov 20 - Arlington, TX - Arlington Music Hall
Dec 4 - Mt. Vernon, KY - Silver Eagle

AMERICAN IDOL'S LAUREN MASCITTI AND COUNTRY ICON PAM TILLIS COME TOGETHER ON "ONE LIFE STAND" MUSIC VIDEO

Mascitti’s Retro Video was Directed by Tillis

Nashville-based country artist and songwriter Lauren Mascitti and country music legend Pam Tillis recently collaborated on the music video for Mascitti’s new single “One Life Stand” (produced by Shawn Camp). Directed by Tillis, the clip premiered on Taste of Country and is featured on CMT.com and Ditty.TV. The enchanting retro piece was filmed on location in Shelbyville, TN on Flagship Detroit, the oldest DC-3 still flying, in Nashville at The Dive Motel, and at Pearl Diver, a tiki-bar and restaurant owned by Pam’s husband and producer, Matt Spicher.

Tillis and Mascitti met in 2004 in Branson, Missouri. Mascitti was only twelve years old at the time, working in a theater where Tillis often made appearances, when one of Tillis’ friends brought her to one of Pam’s shows and introduced the pair. They have worked together on a few occasions since meeting.

“I think Lauren is the total package. A voice like velvet. Smart, beautiful, she has the drive, but she’s also the most sensitive and caring person you’ll ever meet. She has total integrity with her music and as a woman,” adds Tillis.

Pam Tillis is a GRAMMY-award winner, member of the Grand Ole Opry, and platinum-selling artist. In addition to being a chart-topping and best-selling country singer-songwriter, Tillis enjoys directing and mentoring young artists. She began mentoring artists about 4 years ago, and as she worked with these young women, she eventually began to direct photo shoots. This led to the discovery of her love for being on the other side of the camera, composing shots, and making artists look their best. Tillis adds that it is, “the joy of creating with a different medium that really kept [her] going during the pandemic.” Her “One Life Stand” collaboration follows a track that Tillis and her husband helped Lauren produce in 2010, an experience that led her to say that Mascitti’s “drive and talent were unmistakable.”

“Pam is not only one of the most gifted artists and writers I’ve ever written with, but she has always been so kind to me. I started coming to Nashville around the age of 12 and even back then, she and her husband Matt Spicher were so quick to take me under their wing and offer up their friendship, kindness, and advice. Getting to work with Pam on this video was a full-circle moment for me, and a true honor. Not to mention so much fun!”

AMERICAN IDOL ALUM ALEX MILLER TO OPEN FOR HANK JR., JOSH TURNER AND MORE IN AUGUST

Debut Single, “I'm Over You So Get Over Me," At Country Radio Now

American Idol catapulted young Alex Miller into the spotlight – and onto larger stages – and in August, the Kentucky traditionalist will open for Hank Jr at the Wisconsin State Fair and Josh Turner at the Kentucky State Fair. These performances are just two of the recently added dates on Miller’s ever-growing schedule.

Miller auditioned for American Idol with the sassy “I’m Over You So Get Over Me” and the track is now his just-released debut single. Early reviewers are heaping praise on this captivating up-and-comer’s take on love gone wrong:

“Puts Miller’s classic Country pipes on full display and further proves he’s more than ready to make his long-awaited Grand Ole Opry debut.”
- Lauren Jo Black, Country Now

“This two-minute slice of retro-sounding Country definitely stands out on the radio!”
- Steve Shettler, KBOE Radio (Oskaloosa, IA)

" . . . just about the Hankiest, honky tonkiest, retro Country killer I've heard since Don Helms walked this earth"
- Duncan Warwick, Country Music People Magazine

“He is making classic Country cool again and his debut single is genuine."
- Joe Mathis, AM 1230 WHIR (Danville, KY)

Radio programmers can access the tune via Play MPE and AirplayDirect; fans can purchase the track on all popular music streaming platforms.

Between his appearances on Idol and the news of his single’s release, Miller has become a media darling. Recent coverage includes everything from features to fun blurbs across all formats: SiriusXM / The Highway with Storme Warren, On Air With Ryan Seacrest, Wide Open Country (The Ol' Country Living Room Show), People.com, Country Now, Taste of Country, ABC’s The Talent Recap, and RFD-TV.

Alex is busy writing songs on his own and will travel to Nashville mid-month to sit down with one of Country music’s biggest hitmakers, Jerry Salley (Brad Paisley, Joe Nichols, Darryl Worley). Miller is fine-tuning a “roadhouse style” touring band for his summer/fall engagements and continues to host his popular “Tunes on Tuesday Live” show for his Facebook page.

IT'S "ALL OR NOTHING" FOR CASEY JAMES - KICKSTARTER PROJECT CLOSES JULY 1 - LET"S NOT CALL IT A NIGHT ON THIS PROJECT!

Following the critical acclaim and fan response to his first independent studio album "Strip It Down", Casey James returns to Kickstarter to raise funds for his follow-up independent album. The "All or Nothing" campaign ends on July 1.

“Having the fans involved absolutely makes the difference for me in terms of how I make records and what those records accomplish,” said James. “So, it just makes sense to me to come back to Kickstarter and do it again.
James continued, “I'd never experienced anything as amazing as having fans fuel an entire record, but that's EXACTLY what happened with Strip It Down, and it was huge in so many ways for me. It’s such a great feeling to be able to make the music that I want to make and to know that I’m finally connecting the dots between my heart, my music, and my fans. I’ve been getting so much great feedback from everyone in regards to the new material, and I can’t wait to get in the studio and record it.”

Fans aren’t the only ones anxious for new music. Three-time Grammy Award winner Tom Hambridge, who produced Strip It Down, has signed on to produce the next record as well.

After splitting from Sony Music Nashville, James went straight to the source – his fans – to fund his first Independent album. Teaming up with Hambridge was a great start, and at the conclusion of the crowd-funded creative collaboration, James was left with a record that garnered rave reviews from Blues/Rock/Americana media outlets and fans across the world with the Rock Doctor raving that that Strip It Down was “one hell of a delightful surprise!”

Fans who embraced "Strip It Down" will appreciate this next step in James’ evolution as a notable blues composer and performer. The approach for second recording will be very similar to the first. “If 'Strip It Down' was the liner notes to my musical biography, then the next record will read as the first chapter,” James explained.

Certainly, James had an exhilarating debut into the blues society with "Strip It Down", an appropriately titled album given the raw and rooted songs it contained – raucous and danceable album that was truly blues at its core.

His upcoming project rides the same lane, but allows musical breadth for his fans, who are watching James continue to reach as an artist. The new material is more diverse and yet somehow manages to come together and fit into a style that is pure Casey James.

James recently debuted some of his new music in a live, in-studio broadcast that is now up for all to see on YouTube. With title tracks “Come on Saturday Night” and “Here to Please” you don’t want to miss what James is coming out with next!

A LITTLE BACKGROUND ON CASEY:

Anyone who has followed his journey from “American Idol” to Sony Music Nashville will be thrilled to discover the passion that drives the guitar-slinging Texan is dialed to 11. His 2012 self-titled debut won critical raves and yielded Top 15 single “Crying on a Suitcase” – and Top 20 single “Let’s Don’t Call It A Night.” His follow-up, gut-wrenching single “Fall Apart,” powerfully showcased his skills as a producer, intense vocalist, and lead guitarist.

James has had an impressive career spanning from a local musician to playing for an audience of 22 million people weekly during his run on “American Idol.” From touring his hometown to touring the world while playing his own material, he has been consistently growing and evolving as an artist. This latest effort introduced his music to a whole new demographic and was well received worldwide. "The last few years have seen so many of my dreams come true. I'm finally interacting with people that I respect and admire; artists, producers, writers, musicians, and the fans. These are all people that have the same heart for music that I have. It's been an absolute pleasure working alongside artists like Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Delbert McClinton, Tom Hambridge, Lee Roy Parnell" and the list goes on. The point is that after a lifetime of dedication and work, James is finally busting in to the scene that he's always wanted to be a part of. "To drive down the road and hear my song being played on SiriusXM BB King's Bluesville is one of the best feelings I could ask for. Especially when I still feel proud and excited about how it sounds. I’m just thankful to be able to do what I love,” said James in a recent interview with his hometown Fox network television station in Dallas, TX. “I’m thankful to have a dedicated audience that believes in who I am and what I do. I couldn’t ask for more and I’m always excited for what’s next.”
