BREAKING NEWS: BIGGER PICTURE SHUTTERS

BREAKING NEWS

This is sad news as Bigger Picture is one of our favorite labels, always supporting their artists, no matter how big or small the name. We hope they can find a way to come back bigger and better.

SOURCE: COUNTRY AIRCHECK

Bigger Picture Group has laid off most of its staff as it seeks strategic and financing alternatives, according to CEO David Robkin. Executives and administrative staff are continuing to work to support Bigger Picture's artists and to seek new funding. "Unfortunately, our efforts to adequately finance the company or align ourselves with the proper strategic partner have not been successful to date," Robkin says. "We continue our efforts in these areas. It is difficult to announce this as the entire Bigger Picture team has worked so passionately on behalf of our artists and the company."

President Michael Powers adds, "It's hard to find the words to properly thank the staff and artists at BPG. We have hit records on the radio even as I type this, which makes it extra hard. I have never witnessed more tenacity, pride and creativity in my life. This group of people dug in and held on with all of their hearts and never let go! Thank you all so very much for the chance to see that in a staff. And above all, thanks for being my friends. I also want to thank each and every radio partner that always opened their doors and let us in to work our great music – your friendship and your business is always very much appreciated."

The label home of Craig Campbell, Chris Janson, Blackjack Billy and others gots its start handling promotion for Zac Brown Band in 2008. It added a variety of other artist services the following year and went on to play a role in the successes of Gloriana, Tim McGraw, Martina McBride, Alan Jackson and Uncle Kracker. Bigger Picture shed its artist services division in 2012, opting to focus on its in-house roster of artists instead (CAT 6/6/12).
