#IMPACTINGNOW - BLACKBERRY SMOKE FEATURING JAMEY JOHNSON - "LONESOME FOR A LIVIN'"

A few years ago Blackberry Smoke, Jamey Johnson, and George Jones recorded a version of “yesterday’s wine.” Shortly after Charlie Starr was so moved meeting George he wrote a somewhat autobiographical song for him called “Lonesome For A Livin”. As much as George loved the song and although he wanted to, he never got the chance to record it as he passed away. Fast forward a few years, Blackberry Smoke and Jamey were at a show together and Charlie played him the song, they decided that night they should cut the song it together, for George. Dave Cobb loved the story so we included it on this last album, "You Hear Georgia". We miss you Possum, this one is for George!

Y'all get this one out there, create a buzz. Tell your mama, tell your daddy, tell your plumber, tell anyone ya talk to! This one deserves radio play. This is is a good 'un.

TICKETS ON SALE DECEMBER 8 AT 10 AM CT VIA TICKETMASTER

Blackbird Presents and Charlie Daniels are proud to announce “Volunteer Jam XX: A Tribute To Charlie,” an all-star concert event at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 7 PM CT.  Since its inception in 1974, Charlie Daniels’ Volunteer Jam has brought together some of music’s greatest legends. Now, 43 years later, friends, fans, and an extraordinary lineup of musicians will come together for a very special Volunteer Jam honoring the southern rock pioneer Charlie Daniels – the man who started it all.

This unforgettable concert event will feature performances by Charlie Daniels and The Charlie Daniels Band, Alison Krauss, Billy F Gibbons of ZZ Top, Blackberry Smoke, Bobby Bare, Chris Janson, Chuck Leavell, Eddie Montgomery of Montgomery Gentry, Jamey Johnson, Justin Moore, The Oak Ridge Boys, and Ricky Skaggs with many more special guests to be announced in the coming weeks. Storme Warren will be returning as host. For the first time ever, rock great Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top will honor Daniels at the Jam. Country music legend Eddie Montgomery will make a heroic return to the stage after the tragic passing of his partner, Troy Gentry.

Tickets go on sale December 8, 2017, at 10 AM CT online at Ticketmaster.com, by phone at 800-745-3000, all Ticketmaster locations and the Bridgestone Arena box office. A portion of the proceeds from 2018’s Volunteer Jam will be donated to The Journey Home Project, a 501(c)(3) non-profit co-founded by Daniels and manager David Corlew to help Veterans.

Charlie Daniels has collaborated with some of music’s most influential artists – from Elvis Presley to Bob Dylan – and with The Charlie Daniels Band has created such memorable hits as “Long Haired Country Boy,” “The South’s Gonna Do It Again,” “In America,” “The Legend of Wooley Swamp” and of course, the signature “The Devil Went Down to Georgia,” which won a GRAMMY® for Best Country Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group. Daniels is also a tireless supporter of the men and women who serve the United States military.

“Charlie has had an enormous impact on American culture through his dedication to supporting our troops, founding the unique southern sound that we know and love, and creating the unforgettable Volunteer Jam legacy,” says Keith Wortman, CEO of Blackbird Presents. “I am honored to be producing this year’s Jam alongside Charlie’s longtime manager, David Corlew.”

"It’s hard to believe that it’s been 43 years since the CDB and some of our friends got together at War Memorial Auditorium for what was supposed to be a live recording session, a one-time happening that took on a life of its own and was to become known worldwide as The Volunteer Jam. I am extremely honored and excited to have this year’s Jam documented by Blackbird Presents. Gonna be a great night at the Volunteer Jam!"

Blackbird Presents’ Keith Wortman, creator and executive producer of Nashville’s recent highly acclaimed “All In For The Gambler: Kenny Rogers’ Farewell Concert Celebration” and “Sing Me Back Home: The Music of Merle Haggard,” is the executive producer of “Volunteer Jam XX: A Tribute To Charlie.” GRAMMY® Award Winner Don Was will serve as music director, and preside over a stellar house band including Chuck Leavell, Kenny Aronoff at this unforgettable concert event.

Anticipation Builds for Long Awaited New Music Releases ...

It's the most wonderful time of the year ... no, not Christmas but it sure does seem like it with the gifts of music coming our way in the next couple of months. Some of the best new and veteran artists are lined up to give us their best with finally releasing those cds we've all been waiting for.

One of the biggest and most anticipated releases is by one of music's best and most underrated vocal groups, Little Big Town. The cd, which is their fifth studio cd is called "Tornado" and based on the sales and popularity of their lead off single, the summer anthem "Pontoon", this one's gonna be a hot seller. The cd will be produced by Jay Joyce and will hit shelves on September 11. Just as a side note, "Pontoon" sold over 520,000 tracks in just 8 weeks! "Tornado" will showcase 11 songs, which include several written by Little Big Town including "On Fire Tonight", "On Your Side of the Bed", and "Night Owl".

We think this is the year that LBT will become more than passing song on the radio, they will make finally make their mark and snub the critics who said they didn't have what it took to become a major act. Who's cryin' now mister critic? Not LBT, they're laughing all the way up the charts.

Showdog Universal's hot newcomer, JT Hodges, has his baby blues set on major record sales with the release of his debut cd, "JT Hodges", due out on August 21. Trust me, this one's been a long time coming for Hodges fans and is gonna scream up the charts faster than Justin Beiber being chased at 100 mph in his exotic sports car by paparazzi, only difference being that Justin got stopped, JT won't be. With smooth, mellow vocals and a sexy, quiet demeanor, it's no wonder JT was voted one of country's hottest new male artists by Country People magazine. "Hunt You Down" got him noticed, "Goodbyes Made You Mine" solidified his place in music and the new music ahead is just as intriguing and sexy with songs like "Sleepy Little Town", "Green Eyes Red Sunglasses", "When I Stop Crying" and others. Side note: JT co-wrote 8 of the 10 tracks on the cd.

Other releases this summer that have fans anxiously waiting are "Whippoorwill" by Blackberry Smoke, "Declaration of Independence" by Colt Ford, "Love and Theft" by Love and Theft and "All Over the Road" by Easton Corbin.

Blackberry Smoke's new album "The Whippoorwhill" Out August 14, presented by Zac Brown's Southern Ground Records

If you're not already familiar, let us introduce Blackberry Smoke. A quintet of "rock outlaws" according to Creative Loafing, Blackberry Smoke is known for their raucous country riffs, sprawling shows and substantial facial hair.

Before I go on, take a minute to inhale some of Smoke's rocking live show via the video clip below from their "Live From the Georgia Theatre" DVD out last year.

The latest offering from Blackberry Smoke will be available in-stores and on iTunes on August 14, presented by Zac Brown's Atlanta-based Southern Ground Records.

'The Whippoorwhill' comes on the heels of 2009's critically acclaimed Little Piece of Dixie and is the band's first album with Southern Ground. Recorded across sessions from Asheville to Atlanta to Fayetteville, the album was produced by the band, along with Clay Cook, Matt Mangano, and Zac Brown. The iTunes edition of the album will include four bonus tracks recorded in the same sessions.

Says Charlie Starr, frontman, of the band's country/rock/bluegrass blend, "We all love the Allman Brothers and Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Stones and the Faces and Hank Williams and Bill Monroe. It's not about what kind of music it is, as long as it's good and it's honest."

Road warriors to their core, the band has created a superb album with a sound that has been tried and tested – and loved – night after night by audiences nationwide.

FINALLY! ERIC CHURCH ANNOUNCES 2012 HEADLINING TOUR

ERIC CHURCH-THE BLOOD, SWEAT & BEERS TOUR
w/special guest Brantley Gilbert

Eric is hitting the road and will be performing over 50 dates through May 2010 with special guest, Brantley Gilbert.

Don’t be surprised if “Parental Discretion Advised” appears on the ticket when Eric Church brings his newly announced The Blood, Sweat & Beers Tour to over 50 cities in 2012. The St. Petersburg Times recalls his last performance in their town noting Church “made the rowdiest yawp, and drew the most toked-up fans.” With word of mouth long fueling Church’s sweat-soaked, sold-out crowds, Church surprised Music Row naysayers earlier this year when his third release, CHIEF, topped the Billboard charts with over 145,000 albums sold in its first week—a true testament to the years of hard work by Church and his band on the road. CHIEF has since been certified Gold and produced the Top 15 “Homeboy” as well as current Top 15 and climbing single, “Drink In My Hand,” on which Church’s live show serves as the backdrop for the music video counterpart.

No other up-and-coming artist is quite as suitable for the raucous Church crowd as Big Machine Label Group's Brantley Gilbert. Gilbert, who has experienced recent radio success with his current No. 1 hit, “Country Must Be Country Wide,” has been building his fan base on the outskirts of “polished” country for years in the southeast. Similar to Church, Gilbert brings grit and attitude to the stage – and he should fit in just fine with the theme of The Blood, Sweat & Beers Tour.

Church announced the tour earlier today on EricChurch.com to his Church Choir members exclusively, and beginning on January 19, 2012 in Fort Smith, AR, Church will kick off the 50+ dates nationwide with stops stretching from New York, NY to Minneapolis, MN, Chicago, IL and Nashville, TN.

“We have been building our entire career for this tour. It is truly the culmination of a lot of blood, sweat and beer that has brought us to this point in our career," says Church. "I have always trusted our fans to deliver with their dedication and passion, they have always exceeded my expectations. I have never been more excited to begin a tour than this one. The band and I are committed to emptying the tank every night and delivering the best show we can."
