EXPERT TRIO BILL O’HANLON, NANCY DECKANT, AND LESLIE BOWE RELEASE THE SONGWRITER'S GUIDE TO PROTECTING YOUR SONGS AND COLLECTING YOUR MONEY

Project Receives High Reviews and Praise From Music Industry Publishers

Available Now In Ebook Format With Paperback Pre-Orders Open Until May 3rd
On Amazon

The Songwriter's Guide To Protecting Your Songs and Collecting Your Money is an essential addition to any songwriter's library. From managing your music business to navigating newly established royalties, this comprehensive guide is a must-have for aspiring and established songwriters alike. Available now in eBook format with paperback pre-orders open until May 3rd on Amazon, this “how-to” book demystifies the complexities of the songwriting business in a clear and accessible format. The book is available for purchase at online retailers and can be ordered at Amazon HERE.

Authored by a trio of industry insiders, Bill O’Hanlon, Nancy Deckant, and Leslie Bowe, this book is more than just a guide; it's a labor of love born from their own experiences and struggles in the world of the songwriting business. Each author brings a unique perspective to the table, from Bill's extensive literary background to Nancy's hands-on experience as a songwriter, songplugger, and publisher, and Les's dedication to research and insight.

To celebrate the launch of The Songwriter's Guide To Protecting Your Songs and Collecting Your Money, a special book launch party and writers' round will be held at the Commodore Grille in the Holiday Inn Vanderbilt on April 13th from 7 to11 pm. Hit songwriters including Tom Douglas ("House That Built Me" by Miranda Lambert) and Jason Sever ("Seein' Red" by Dustin Lynch), and Jenny Tolman (Married In A Honky Tonk), among others, will be playing to support the launch of this important book.

For more information on the book launch event, visit www.nashvillecool.com/press.

“Becoming a songwriter doesn't come with a manual for safeguarding your songs and ensuring you receive your rightful earnings,” said Bill O’Hanlon. “If you're a self-administered songwriter or independent artist, chances are you're missing out on potential revenue.”

"The book is a roadmap to collecting thirteen royalties, some of which were non-existent before the enactment of the MMA," explained Nancy Dekant, "ensuring that songwriters stay up-to-date on the latest developments in the industry."

"Our goal was to consolidate the essentials into one easily accessible resource," remarked Leslie Bowe. "It clocks in at just 100 pages, offering a concise and straightforward read for all."

The book has garnered high praise from respected music industry publishers who understand the challenges and intricacies of the songwriting business.

Shar'n Clark, Publisher at Shake 'Em Up Music, emphasizes the book's indispensability, stating, "This book is so inclusive in material that any self-administered songwriter should have it a part of their library. It should be required reading before anyone considers themselves a songwriter."

Reflecting on her own experiences, Debbie Zavitson, former A&R with Sony and Publisher at Debbie Z Entertainment, remarks, "I wish I would’ve had this book when I started in the business!"

Zach Green, Founder of the Red Door Hang, lauds the authors' expertise, describing the guide as "a great read for any songwriter written by some formidable industry vets."

The book is infused with practical advice, real-world anecdotes, and step-by-step guidance. Readers can expect to find answers to burning questions such as the basics of "Where exactly should I register my songs to collect all the royalties due to me?", "When should I copyright my song with the Library of Congress?” and “What is sync, and what royalties can you expect to earn from it?” Also included are samples of essential agreements that all songwriters need.

"A SONG AND A PRAYER", KIM MCLEAN'S COMPANION CD TO BOOK WRITTEN WITH LORETTA LYNN AVAILABLE TODAY

Kim McLean’s A Song & A Prayer Album Available Today

Companion CD to Book Written With Loretta Lynn

A Song & A Prayer, a collection of devotions written by Country Music Hall of Fame member Loretta Lynn and Grammy nominated and Dove award-winning singer-songwriter Kim McLean, was released in May and hit the top of several Amazon charts. McLean put 10 of those selections to music, and her A Song & Prayer album is available today by BFD/Audium.

Add/save the album HERE.

"I made this album to invite our friends and fans into a conversation,” said Kim. “It's my heart; it's Loretta's heart. That's how these songs were born. Loretta and I sang these songs together for the sheer joy of it as we wrote them. Now it's time to share them with the world. I hope this very special project honors the beautiful legacy of Loretta Lynn."

Kim, who has had her songs recorded by Tim McGraw, Trisha Yearwood, Lee Ann Womack and others, wrote nine of the 10 cuts on A Song & A Prayer with the Queen of Country Music and was the solo writer on “Angel In The Stone.” She also produced the album. The first single, “Long Time Leavin’,” was recently released to Country radio and streaming services. The single can be saved/added HERE.

The two like-minded ladies first met in 2018 at a writer’s night in Nashville. Loretta invited Kim, who is also an ordained minister, to her house not to write initially, but to pray. They bonded over music, God, songs and songwriting. Over the next two years, their conversations turned into songs which later transformed into devotionals and the A Song & A Prayer book.

Kim will be hitting the road with her band this fall, and fans can follow her at:

NEW BOOK FROM LORETTA LYNN TO BE RELEASED POSTHUMOUSLY

Loretta Lynn’s family and estate will release a new book she completed just before her passing; A SONG AND A PRAYER, on May 23, 2023 from Worthy Books.

“Originally slated to come out in December, mom worked all summer to complete this book. It was so important to her because she had never devoted an entire book to her faith. Mom was always open about her faith but it was a deeply personal matter to her, one in which we knew at the core was the most important thing in her life. Her passing has made this project all the more special to us and we know her fans will feel the same way,” said her daughter Patsy Lynn Russell.

It’s been over sixty years since the late Loretta Lynn first rose to stardom, transforming from a coal miner’s daughter to the Queen of Country Music. Loretta knew she was blessed—to record music, to sing her songs to such great crowds, and to write books. Her final offering, A Song and A Prayer, is a collection of prayers combined with song lyrics inspired by her songwriting sessions with fellow hit songwriter and co-author, ordained minister Dr. Kim McLean.

“My writing sessions with Loretta were inspired by our friendship and faith,” said Kim. “She always told me we need to ‘write it the way we say it,’ and these are the things she felt were important to say. It is a capstone project, and a culmination of her wholehearted, unapologetic love of God, of people, and of life. We were similar in many ways and connected on a soul level, but her fans know that’s the only way Loretta ever connected – heart to heart. We laughed all the time when we wrote, sometimes argued, then laughed again. This book came about so naturally. Loretta said this project was special to her, and I’m honored to be her collaborator and friend. She was such an inspiration.”

This volume will become a cherished companion for Loretta Lynn fans and readers everywhere as they strive to live each precious moment to the fullest and happiest. Through A Song and A Prayer, readers of all faiths and walks of life will have the opportunity to bask in a month’s worth of spiritual encouragement from Loretta’s own resilient faith. In a busy world, Loretta’s lyrics and prayers remind readers that God loves them more than they could imagine.

Loretta Lynn has produced multiple gold albums and boasts an impressive 60-year country music track record, during which she has sold over 45 million albums and produced 16 #1 hit singles and 11 #1 albums. She has received numerous awards and other accolades for her groundbreaking role in country music, including awards from both the Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music as a duet partner and an individual artist. She is the most awarded female country recording artist and the only female ACM Artist of the Decade (1970s).

Kim McLean is a Dove award-winning singer-songwriter, twice Grammy nominated, who has had songs recorded by Tim McGraw, Trisha Yearwood, Lee Ann Womack and others. She has garnered awards from NSAI, ASCAP, and the Just Plain Folks Americana Song of the Year, and has TV/Film credits that include shows on NBC, CBS, and ABC. She is a music producer and has worked with major labels, Curb and Sony, as well as many indie artists. Kim travels extensively as a keynote speaker/singer. She was instrumental in developing a songwriting program at Trevecca University in Nashville, which she directed for over a decade. She earned her MA in religion in 2008 and is an ordained minister in the Church of the Nazarene as well as a Doctor of Education. She has served as a worship leader and is currently the lead pastor of Music City West Church in Nashville, TN. - https://kimmclean.com

JESSICA WILLIS FISHER MAKES FIRST DAYTIME TV APPEARANCE IN SUPPORT OF POWERFUL, PERSONAL MEMOIR ON "TAMRON HALL"

"Unspeakable: Surviving My Childhood and Finding My Voice"
 Is Available Everywhere Now

Upon the release of her hauntingly beautiful and brave personal memoir, Unspeakable: Surviving My Childhood and Finding My Voice, Americana singer/songwriter Jessica Willis Fisher made her first daytime TV appearance in support of the book on Tamron Hall with an interview and performance on November 1st. The powerful interview can be seen HERE, and her performance of her autobiographical song “My History” from her critically-acclaimed debut album, Brand New Day, can be seen HERE. Unspeakable is now available everywhere.

Following major editorial coverage in publications such as her in-depth Sunday portfolio cover story with The Tennessean, features with Forbes and Everything Nash, and early excerpts released through People and Taste Of Country, Jessica rounded out release week with an appearance on WSM’s Coffee, Country and Cody this morning, and will perform on the Grand Ole Opry tomorrow, Saturday, November 5.

Also out today is Jessica’s brand-new Christmas track, a gorgeous cover of Celine Dion’s “Don’t Save It All For Christmas Day,” available everywhere now. Jessica will release her rendition of “Tennessee Christmas” on November 25.

Using the written word as her witness statement, Jessica Willis Fisher gives a lacerating portrait of a girl finding her voice after years of being silenced in Unspeakable -- an elegant, harrowing story of the manipulation and codependency that defines abusive family relationships.

BookTrib praises, “I was not expecting the depth at which Fisher would share her world, nor how gracefully she would navigate it for us...Unspeakable is a book that should be read, by girls and women who may think that they will forever be defined by the things that happen to them.”

Growing up the eldest daughter in a large, highly controlled, fundamentalist Christian household, Jessica was groomed to write songs and perform with her family’s touring group, The Willis Clan. Jessica was expected to conform to her father's disturbing and chaotic teachings, but she survived his mental, physical, and sexual abuse.

Her family shot to fame after an appearance on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” and soon after had their own reality show on TLC - “The Willis Family”- for two seasons. The world loved this beautiful family of 12 kids; young and vivacious, the Willis's presented themselves to be extraordinary and happy. But the older and wiser Jessica got, the more she had to face that what was going on behind closed doors would forever be escalating.

Publisher’s Weekly declares, “In this wrenching debut memoir, singer-songwriter Fisher recounts the “mental, emotional, spiritual” as well as brutal physical and sexual abuse she suffered at the hands of her father, Toby Willis […] It’s a painful story, but it’s bravely told, for herself and “other little invisible girls and boys.”

Beautifully written and monumental in its bravery, Unspeakable captures the beauty and ugliness of a young woman finding her way—filled with longing, fear, confusion, secrecy, but most importantly, hope for the future.

Unspeakable follows the release of Jessica’s critically-acclaimed debut solo album, Brand New Day, earlier this year. The dynamic project finds her discovering that there is indeed a way forward through music. An emotional centerpiece of the album, “My History” was the first song Jessica wrote after taking a multi-year hiatus from creating, following her escape from the unhealthy environment of her upbringing. Brand New Day musically represents her new start at life and helped her reclaim her voice through music.

RANDY TRAVIS RELEASES HIS FIRST SONG IN SIX YEARS, “ONE IN A ROW”

In the midst of promoting his memoir, Forever and Ever, Amen, Randy Travis gives fans a reason to celebrate with his first music release in six years. “One In A Row”, is a song about missing someone as much as the world has missed the Country Music Hall of Fame member’s one-of-a-kind baritone since a massive stroke in 2013 affected his ability to perform. The song, penned by Buddy Jewell and Thom McHugh, was recorded years before the stroke but never widely released to audiences. It showcases Travis’ deep, velvety smooth, signature tone with the traditional country sound that has been a cornerstone of his career since 1986 when he “turned [the country] format 180 degrees from where it’s heading, back and made it bigger than it ever was” [Garth Brooks to Rolling Stone Country].

“Traditional country music was all I wanted to do -- it’s all I knew how to do.” - Randy Travis in his memoir, Forever and Ever, Amen: A Memoir of Music, Faith, and Braving the Storms of Life.

Randy’s memoir takes readers behind the music, with candid, never-before-told details, of his troubled youth full of drinking and stealing cars, a tense relationship with his father and the roller coaster ride of more than 40 years in the music and acting industry. With the help of New York Times Best-Selling Author, Ken Abraham, and Travis’ wife Mary, this memoir recounts the singer’s journey of perseverance and redemption from his early childhood memories up until the book was penned, recovering from a life-changing stroke and painful divorce, enjoying the life he was given and learning to “sing a new song.” The book can be purchased at various retailers as well as www.foreverandeveramenbook.com.

Travis will have a booth in Fan Fair X at Music City Center (Booth 142) with books for purchase and daily photo opportunities during the upcoming CMA Fest in Nashville, Tenn., as well as a book tour in select markets. RANDY TRAVIS ANNOUNCES LONG-AWAITED MEMOIR: FOREVER AND EVER, AMEN

Cover of Book Revealed by People.com, On Sale May 14

Thomas Nelson, a division of HarperCollins, announced the cover for the upcoming memoir by country music legend Randy Travis today in an exclusive with People.com. The book is available now for preorder on Amazon and other retailers.

In his long-awaited memoir, Forever and Ever, Amen: A Memoir of Music, Faith, and Braving the Storms of Life, Travis opens up for the first time, sharing the deeply personal stories of his life. From a troubled, working-class childhood in North Carolina to the Country Music Hall of Fame; from a broken marriage to a miraculous daily recovery from viral cardiomyopathy, flatlining, massive stroke and coma, Travis, with the help of best-selling author Ken Abraham, tells his story of perseverance and redemption from start to finish.

“I didn’t really feel I had a book to write until I stood on the distant shore and looked back over the ripples my life has made—on myself and on others. My songs were the stories of my life and I learned from those who listened, they were theirs too—my fans inspired me and continue to do so,” said Randy Travis.

With candid, never-before-told details, Travis recounts his troubled youth full of drinking and stealing cars, a tense relationship with his father, and the rollercoaster ride of more than 40 years in the music and acting industry. He also shares the highs that came after playing “Forever and Ever, Amen” for the first time; having 18 number one hits and selling more than 25 million albums; and most importantly, the faith that has seen him through all of it.

“I learned a lot about myself going back through the chronicles of my past.  In my waning years of ability I have a clearer picture of the past. It’s an interesting game of patience to sit and wait for the clocks of time to expose so much,” lamented Travis. “As the candle burns, it is time to share the history that made me who I am, tell the backstory to some of my songs, give insight to the challenges I faced, and reflect on the blessings through it all.”

WHISPERIN' BILL ANDERSON RELEASES AUDIO BOOK PLUS BONUS ACOUSTIC CD WITH NEVER-BEFORE HEARD TRACKS

First Printing of 'Whisperin' Bill Anderson: An Unprecedented Life In Country Music'
Sells Out in Two Weeks

Songwriting icon and legendary performer “Whisperin’ Bill” Anderson released his new autobiography Whisperin’ Bill Anderson: An Unprecedented Life In Country Music September 1 and within two weeks, the entire first printing was sold out! A rush shipment just arrived and more copies are available now.

In addition, listeners can sit back and enjoy a NEW audio book narrated by Bill Anderson. The audio book bundle also includes a Bonus CD featuring 10 never-before released self-penned acoustic recordings by Anderson, including smash hits like “Whiskey Lullaby” (Brad Paisley/Alison Krauss), “Give It Away” (George Strait), “City Lights” (Ray Price) and seven more (track listing below).

Whisperin’ Bill Anderson: An Unprecedented Life In Country Music is a representation of Anderson’s journey, and published by University of Georgia Press. Read by Bill Anderson himself it features eye-opening personal stories from his nearly eighty years of living – from early days of radio broadcasting in Georgia, to standing alongside the greatest country music stars in the world onstage at the Grand Ole Opry, to meeting Elvis Presley, to being named BMI’s first ICON Award winner in the country music genre.

The book is a 360-page representation of Anderson’s journey published by University of Georgia Press featuring respected music journalist and Grammy-nominated music producer Peter Cooper as a contributing writer. It includes rare, never-before-seen photos and eye-opening personal stories from Anderson’s nearly eighty years of living – from early days of radio broadcasting in Georgia, to standing alongside the greatest country music stars in the world onstage at the Grand Ole Opry, to being named BMI’s first ICON Award winner in the country music genre.

With the 2015 success of Mo Pitney’s “Country,” Anderson has become the only country songwriter to tally a Top 40 hit in seven consecutive decades, and he stands today a legendary performer, who recently celebrated his 55th Anniversary as a member of the Grand Ole Opry. The youngest writer to ever be named “Songwriter Of The Year” (BMI) at age 23, prior to 21-year-old Taylor Swift, Anderson has certainly lived an unprecedented life in country music. Fans, artists, songwriters and music executives young and old revere him for his soft speaking style that can silence a room with just a few poignant words.

But there was a time in the early 90s that Bill felt as if his words no longer mattered. “I didn’t write much anymore because I didn’t feel as if what I wanted to write related to what young listeners wanted to hear,” he revealed. However, it was in 1992 that singer/songwriter Steve Wariner helped to re-ignite Anderson’s writing career with a cover of “Tips Of My Fingers.” The exposure the song received made Anderson test the waters as a co-writer, and in 1994, he teamed up with Vince Gill to write “Which Bridge To Cross (Which Bridge To Burn).”

Anderson will be signing copies of the book after his Grand Ole Opry performance on October 11, as well as at the Southern Festival of Books on October 16 and the County Music Hall of Fame on Saturday, October 22, where he will be participating in a special Songwriting Session which be be live streamed at countrymusichalloffame.org/streaming.

For those unable to attend, Whisperin’ Bill Anderson: An Unprecedented Life In Country Music jacketed cloth edition will be available for $29.95 at Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, various independent book stores, and online at www.BillAnderson.com and Amazon.com.

DOLLY PARTON'S REMINDER OF RESPECT AND GRATITUDE

CHILDREN'S BOOK INSPIRED BY DOLLY PARTON'S CLASSIC SONG SHARES IMPORTANCE OF RESPECT AND GRATITUDE

COAT OF MANY COLORS
By Dolly Parton

Country music legend Dolly Parton brings her beloved classic to life in Coat of Many Colors (Grosset & Dunlap; on sale October 18, 2016), a new picture book for young readers with all-new illustrations by Brooke Boynton Hughes and featuring a downloadable exclusive original song by Dolly Parton, “Making Fun Ain’t Funny."

Using lyrics from her classic song "Coat of Many Colors," and inspired by Parton’s rural upbringing in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, the picture book tells the story of a young girl in need of a warm winter coat. When her mother sews her a coat made of rags, the girl is mocked by classmates for being poor. But Parton's trademark positivity carries through to the end as the girl realizes that her coat was made with love "in every stitch."

Francesco Sedita, President and Publisher, Grosset & Dunlap, said, “As someone who grew up listening to Dolly Parton with my family, having this very special opportunity to work on the Coat of Many Colors picture book has been a lifelong dream come true. The book—and the song, of course—really speaks to how important family and community is. And how vital it is to respect those around us and to be grateful for what we have. I believe this book is one that will be passed down for generations to come.”

Coat of Many Colors is the latest project in Dolly Parton’s longtime mission to support childhood literacy. In 1988, she began the Dollywood Foundation to inspire children in her home community to dream more, learn more, care more, and be more. The Foundation’s signature program is the Dolly Parton Imagination Library which works with local sponsors to give every preschool child a book each month from the time he or she is born until the child reaches kindergarten. The Imagination Library has gifted over 80 million books in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and Australia.

Following the publication of Coat of Many Colors, NBC will air the sequel to last year’s TV movie “Coat of Many Colors.” In “Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love,” the Partons, a family of humble means living in the mountains of Tennessee, face a devastating event that challenges their will. But when they experience a bewildering Christmas miracle, the Partons are drawn closer together than ever—with deepened faith and love for one another.

An internationally renowned superstar, the iconic and irrepressible Dolly Parton has contributed countless treasures to the world of music entertainment, penning classic songs such as "Jolene," "Coat of Many Colors," and her mega-hit "I Will Always Love You." She has garnered 7 Grammy Awards, 10 Country Music Association Awards, 5 Academy of Country Music Awards, 3 American Music Awards, and is one of only five female artists to win the Country Music Association's Entertainer of the Year Award. Dolly Parton is an instantly recognizable American icon. She is a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award Winner, a Kennedy Center Honors recipient, and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

This June, Dolly Parton embarked on her first tour in 25 years. Her "Pure & Simple" tour will travel to 60 cities in North America in 2016.

Brooke Boynton-Hughes is an artist and illustrator originally from Loveland, Colorado. LEE GREENWOOD TOPS THREE AMAZON CHARTS WITH BEST-SELLING PATRIOTIC CHILDREN'S BOOK, PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN

Colorful, Fully-Illustrated Hardback is named A Bestseller
Following Memorial Day Release

PRESS RELEASE

Lee Greenwood is taking the Amazon charts by leaps and bounds as a children’s book author following the release of his patriotic, fully-illustrated hardback, Proud To Be An American, over the Memorial Day weekend. Debuting at No. 1 on the “Movers and Shakers” chart and named one of Amazon’s top “Hot New Releases,” the book comes in as the No. 1 best-seller on both Amazon’s “Children’s Books On The U.S.” and “Children’s Multicultural Story Books” charts.

Greenwood penned the new book, Proud To Be An American, in the words of his iconic anthem, “God Bless The U.S.A.,” with the hope of instilling American patriotism in the hearts of our nation’s youth.

“After more than 30 years of singing ‘God Bless The U.S.A,’ I’ve watched my song be passed down to three generations,” Greenwood said while on a media tour this week in New York City. “Given the unrest in America today, and the U.S. having to defend its very existence with much of the world, I felt it was time to give the next generation something to hold and read, that tells in a very simple way why it’s good to be an American and why we should be proud of it.”

Along with the lyrics and a free download for a never-before-heard rerecord of “God Bless The U.S.A,” Proud To Be An American features colorful illustrations by Amanda Sekulow that paint the portrait of scenic farmland and cityscapes throughout the country, American soldiers, and even Arlington Cemetery.

“The illustrations in my book paint in a childlike way, a picture of this country in colorful snapshots that teach geography, pinpoints the cities that they soon will know and visit, and show on several pages the servicemen and women that we honor,” Greenwood added.

As a father, Greenwood recalls reading to his own children when they were very small -- watching as they fervidly flipped through the pages and became captivated by all of the vivid photos and drawings.

“Reading to my own children when they were young was a way for my wife and I to hold them close and bond with them while teaching them all they needed to know about life,” said Greenwood. “It’s my sincere hope that this book will become an educational tool for all parents, grandparents, and even teachers at schools throughout the U.S. to help teach the lessons of patriotism at an early age.”

Released by Clovercroft Publishing, Proud To Be An American is currently available for purchase online at LeeGreenwood.com, Amazon and in various bookstores nationwide including Barnes and Noble, Books-A-Million, Christian Family Stores and others.

After a national TV appearance last night on Hannity on FOX News, (in case you missed it, watch here), Greenwood is slated to appear at Book Expo America trade show in New York City this week and will commence his national tour performing at fairs, festivals, casinos and theaters immediately following. Tune in on July 3 to watch him perform LIVE as part of the FOX and Friends All-American Summer Concert Series kicking off Fourth of July weekend.

LEE GREENWOOD TO RELEASE NEW PATRIOTIC CHILDREN'S BOOK MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND

LEE GREENWOOD ENCOURAGES PATRIOTISM AMONG AMERICA'S YOUNGEST GENERATION WITH RELEASE OF CHILDREN'S BOOK, 'PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN,' IN STORES MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND

Greenwood Serves Again in 2015 as National Ambassador for Helping A Hero, Awarding Specially-Adapted Housing to Disabled Veterans Across the U.S.

PRESS RELEASE

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (February 9, 2014) – When Lee Greenwood penned the empowering words of his multi-chart No. 1 "God Bless The USA" in the back of his tour bus in 1983, he had no idea they would become the words of the most recognizable patriotic song in America over the last century -- he was just speaking from his heart. The son of a World War II veteran, his authentic life-long patriotism of the United States compelled him to write two former books, Does God Still Bless The USA: A Plea For A Better America (2012), and God Bless The USA: Biography of A Song (1993). Now, with the hope of ingraining life-long pride and patriotism for America in our country's youngest generation, he announces the release of his first children's book, Proud To Be An American, in stores Memorial Day Weekend, May 23-25. The book marks his third professional work as an author, and features poignant lyrics from "God Bless The USA" paired with colorful, thought-provoking illustrations by Amanda Sekulow. The book also includes a FREE song download, and its foreword tells the true story of his childhood upbringing that led him to become an American patriot:

"Growing up on my grandparents farm in California gave me an appreciation for folks who worked hard and got by on very little. My grandparents lost their farm after government regulations prevented them from farming the more profitable fields. But they didn't question why it happened; they just started a new business. They believed no matter what difficulties we experienced, we would be okay because we were free. America is still the greatest country on earth. As you sit reading the words of my song to your child or grandchild in my new book, it is my hope that young and old alike will feel tremendous pride in being citizens of the United States of America," he writes.

In conjunction with the release of Proud To Be An American, Greenwood will continue his long-standing position as the National Ambassador for Helping A Hero, a non-profit organization committed to providing specially-adapted housing and support to military personnel severely injured in the war on terror. Greenwood first appeared at a Helping A Hero event in January 2012 as part of ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, where he sang the iconic anthem "God Bless The USA," for a Christmas tribute, while welcoming severe burn victim SSG (Ret) Shilo Harris to his new home. For the past three years, the music superstar has continued to be a part of numerous house-gifting and "Welcome Home" ceremonies, holiday concerts for veterans and their families, volunteer appreciation luncheons and more, bearing witness to the real-life struggles our servicemen and women face after returning from combat with life-altering injuries and emotional distress.

"I'm consistently blown away with the impact Helping A Hero makes on veterans and their families. To know that heroes like SPC (Ret) Jay Briseno, USAR in Manassas, VA, who was hit by a sniper and is semi-conscious as a result, now has a fully-accessible home that includes a lift system, a 300 sq. foot bathroom with a shower bed, heated towel warmers, and a therapy room for his daily physical therapy needs, really fuels my passion for helping those who have made such great sacrifices for our freedom. No one is more deserving of outreach and care than our nation's heroes, and I'm just grateful I can be a small part of giving back to them," he said.

For more information on Helping A Hero and to find out how you can contribute to the cause, please visit helpingahero.org. For more information on Lee Greenwood's Proud To Be An American children's book, please stay tuned for updates on his website at LeeGreenwood.com.

COUNTRY MUSIC SUPERSTAR JOSH TURNER WILL RELEASE HIS FIRST BOOK, MAN STUFF: THOUGHTS ON FAITH, FAMILY, AND FATHERHOOD, ON APRIL 29

Jase Robertson of A&E’s Duck Dynasty Pens Forward

PRESS RELEASE

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 20, 2014) – Since signing with MCA Nashville in 2003, country music superstar Josh Turner has sold more than five million albums, had four singles climb to the top of the charts, entertained fans with sold-out shows across the country, received numerous award nominations, and was one of the youngest artists asked to join the Grand Ole Opry. Throughout this successful and demanding career, his life has remained strongly centered on his Christian faith and his family. Sharing stories from both his life and lessons he’s learned over the years as a son, brother, friend, husband, and father, Turner has written his first book, Man Stuff: Thoughts on Faith, Family, and Fatherhood, which will be released on April 29 with Thomas Nelson, an imprint of Harper Collins Christian Publishing.

“I was raised in a strong Christian family in a tight-knit community in rural South Carolina,” said Turner in the book’s introduction. “I was taught essential life lessons, like the value of a dollar, what hard work feels like, and how important an education is. I was taught why being thoughtful, respectful, and considerate of others makes life more fulfilling, and why trusting God with your life’s decisions is wise. If all that sounds a little old-fashioned, well, that’s because it is. And I’m okay with that.”

He continues, “In this book you’ll learn a little bit more about how God has shaped and continues to shape me. You’ll also learn about my wife, my boys, and the family I grew up in. I hope you see that the everyday small things in this life really do add up to matter a great deal in the long run. And I hope you’ll smile—even laugh—and gain a little wisdom along the way. Maybe even a lot.”

Jase Robertson, star of A&E’s hit television series Duck Dynasty, will provide the forward for Man Stuff.  Last year, Turner sang a duet with Robertson’s wife Missy on the song “Why I Love Christmas” from the Platinum-certified holiday album, Duck The Halls: A Robertson Family Christmas.
