MICHAEL TYLER JOINS CANAAN SMITH FOR “SUNDOWN READY TOUR”

Fall Dates Begin October 7

Reviver Records recording artist Michael Tyler, whose current single “Crazy Last Night” is gaining radio airplay, will join Mercury Nashville’s Canaan Smith for the SUNDOWN READY TOUR launching this fall (tour dates below). The road warriors kick off the tour in Indianapolis, Ind. October 7. Fans can purchase tickets beginning today at www.themichaeltyler.com.

“Crazy Last Night,” which world premiered on CMT, was selected as one of Billboard’s Country Songs of the Summer Picks and is currently playing on country radio in Seattle, Wash.; Long Island, N.Y.; Portland, Ore.; Charlotte, N.C.; San Antonio, Texas; Austin, Texas; San Jose, Calif.; Columbus, Ohio; Nashville, Tenn.; Oklahoma City, Okla.; Albany, N.Y.; Fresno, Calif.; Albuquerque, N.M. and more!

MT, already a No. 1 songwriter, co-penned Dierks Bentley's two-week No. 1 smash "Somewhere on a Beach." MT also penned Jason Aldean’s “Laid Back” on the Platinum selling album Old Boots New Dirt, three songs on the LOCASH album The Fighters (“Shipwrecked,” “Ain’t Startin Tonight,” and “Moonwalkin”) and a Jason Aldean/Kelsea Ballerini duet “First Time Again” on Aldean’s upcoming album They Don’t Know.

Hailing from Thayer, Missouri, known as a railroad town, it’s ironic MT is the descendant of the late, great Jimmie Rodgers, known as "The Father of Country Music" who learned his craft around the New Orleans and Northeastern Railroad. At the age of 13, over a Myspace meeting, MT met award-winning producer Michael Knox (Jason Aldean/Thomas Rhett/Kelly Clarkson/Trace Adkins). After a few years of sending songs and ideas back and forth, MT came to Nashville, Tenn. to play a show at Tootsies Orchid Lounge for their first face-to-face meeting. At that time, Knox was hired by peermusic Nashville to help restructure the creative department. After watching MT play a few shows, Knox felt it was time for him to make the move to Nashville as a peermusic songwriter. The future has just started for this young singer/songwriter who is on the road touring all over the country with his energetic live show.

FROM THE EYES OF A FAN: A CONCERT FAN REVIEW - CANAAN SMITH / SALINAS COUNTY FAIR

ARTIST: CANAAN SMITH
EVENT: SALINAS COUNTY FAIR - KING CITY, CA
DATE: MAY 18, 2012
GUEST REVIEWER: DANIELLE MANN

Thank you to our guest on-site reviewer, Danielle Mann for sharing her memories and opinion of Canaan Smith's performance on May 18, 2012, at the Salinas County Fair in King City, CA.

This year's fair was great with the weather and the people. This year's concert on the Steinbeck stage was supposed to be Love & Theft. When I heard they weren't going to be there, I wondered why so I looked on their website and it said they were at another concert out of state. The local newspaper came out and announced that Canaan Smith was the artist who would replace Love & Theft.

I've heard of Canaan Smith's song, but never really knew who sang it. His breakout hit "We Got Us" is leading the way and it's only natural because Canaan was a contestant in tv's "The Amazing Race." He's opened up for Sugarland, Dierks Bentley, and Darius Rucker.

The start of the night was awesome, of course I was right in front of the stage singing along. Canaan Smith is the type of artist that gets involved with his fans by talking to them and asking questions during his performance. After his set was done, some of the girls and I went backstage to get pictures taken and get autographs. We were never rushed and the band even talked to us and gave us hugs. What an amazing night. Canaan's website is www.canaansmith.com. Go check it out to learn more about him and find out his tour dates.

McGraw, Underwood, and Alabama Headline New Canadian Festival

Source: www.musicrow.com - Eric Parker

The inaugural three-day Boots and Hearts Music Festival is set for August 10-12, 2012 and expected to be the largest Canadian country music festival to date.

Bowmanville, Ontario’s Canadian Tire Motorsport Park will host the event, which features superstars including Tim McGraw, Carrie Underwood, Alabama, and Kid Rock. Additionally, more than 20 international and Canadian artists will perform on two stages, among them are Big and Rich, Lauren Alaina, Canaan Smith, Paul Brandt, Jason McCoy, Dallas Smith, and High Valley.

The newly refurbished park offers 750 acres of manicured grassland and hills, perfect for camping under the stars and enjoying music. Aside from music, there will be a Boom Town, kids zone and petting zoo, authentic country fare, a local Farmer’s Market, and a mechanical bull.

Three-day passes and camping permits will be available here starting tomorrow (4/4). VIP packages offer exclusive stage front access, premium reserved seating, shaded areas, picnic tables, couches, private restrooms, food and beverage vendors.

“We have three full days of country music on two stages, tailgates, barbeques, and all kinds of activities throughout the day to keep fans entertained,” said Shannon McNevan, partner and executive director, Republic Live (promoter and producer of the festival). “Just when other music festivals call it a night, Boots and Hearts will ramp things up with nightly after-parties.”
