CRAIG MORGAN FANS GET A WHOLE LOT MORE AT ALBUM RELEASE PARTY

Special guests celebrating “A Whole Lot More To Me” included Mac Powell, Eric Paslay, Kane Brown and more

Fans and friends crowded into the newly renovated Wildhorse Saloon this week to celebrate the release of Craig Morgan’s profound new album a Whole Lot More To Me. The night, presented by Kidde, Line-X, and NRA Country kicked off with performances by Hailey Whitters, Jillian Cardarelli, Adam Sanders, and Mac Powell. The party continued late into the night with Morgan taking the stage and sharing tracks from the new LP and several of his chart toppers with fans singing along.

Memorable moments included surprise guests Eric Paslay and Kane Brown with Paslay joining Morgan on stage for a song he penned on the new album called “Country Side of Heaven.” The crowd was thrilled when Brown performed a reprise of one of Morgan’s biggest hits “Almost Home.” Third Day’s Mac Powell came back out onto the stage during Morgan’s full throttle set to join forces on “Hearts I Leave Behind,” electrifying the fans. Craig kept the crowd on its toes all night as he performed the moving “Nowhere Without You” while roaming through the Wildhorse and ended the night with a rousing stage dive!

The Black River Entertainment recording artist’s seventh studio album, released June 3rd, is co-produced by Craig and Byron Gallimore (Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Lee Ann Womack), includes “When I’m Gone,” “I’ll Be Home Soon” and the Mac Powell duet, “Hearts I Leave Behind.” Craig co-wrote nearly half of the album's tracks with some of Music City's hottest writers like Josh Osborne, Kevin Denney, Jim McBride and Phil O'Donnell.

CONCERT REVIEW / *EXCLUSIVE PHOTOS* - BRIAN DAVIS CD RELEASE PARTY AT CITY LIMITS SALOON

Event: Brian Davis "Under the Influence" CD Release Party
Venue: City Limits Saloon - Raleigh, NC
Date: 3/22/13

Purchase "Under the Influence", the new cd from Brian Davis, on iTunes, Amazon and through www.briandavislive.com now!

On Friday night, Brian Davis, one of new country's favorite artists and an amazing songwriter, brought the show back to where it all got started, City Limits Saloon, for the release of his brand new cd, "Under the Influence". Brian, currently out on the Hell on Wheels Tour with Brantley Gilbert, made his own stop in Raleigh for the special event, to celebrate with his family, close friends and fans who have been there since the start of his career. This truly was one of the best shows I've attended in quite awhile. It had everything from great music, fan interaction, family and the kind of artist camaraderie only found in country music. This wasn't only a concert or a cd release party, it was a reunion of people who love Brian and who Brian loves just as much, if not more. Having seen Brian perform several times before, I knew what to expect and those expectations were high because that's the bar he sets with every show but he blew my expectations right out of the water with this show. OUTSTANDING!

One of the most honest artists you'll ever meet, Brian, knows how to make his fans know that they truly matter, like they're more than (in his own words), a "walking wallet". One of the ways he gets up close and personal is through his "Meet and Drink" fan experience. Fans can purchase a MD ticket which allows them to come onto the bus for an acoustic performance from Brian, conversation with Brian, band members and other fans, drinks and depending on the show, free take home souvenirs such as a beer koozie or signed cd. This is the first meet and drink I've ever taken part in at one of his shows and it is pure marketing genius. We spent about 30 minutes on the bus, Brian sang one of newest songs that he co-wrote with Brantley Gilbert, drank a few cold ones and laughed and told stories. Normally, there might be two groups for the MD, this night there were FOUR! David Adam Byrnes hung around for the first group before he had to go perform his set. The last group got a double shot of luck when Jason Michael Carroll decided to pop in and hang out for awhile. The band did their pre-show toast and I was lucky enough to get a birthday toast from the guys as well. If you ever attend one of Brian's shows, this is a MUST DO. This isn't a "Oh my God, I'm on the bus" kind of thing, this is a "Brian cares enough to spend one on one time with his fans" kind of experience. Very well thought out, very casual and very thoughtful of Brian. He spends time with each and every fan, there's no cattle call rush in and out like typical meet and greets. You'll love it!

David Adam Byrnes took the stage first and unfortunately, we missed it because we were on the bus. I hate it because I absolutely love David. His style is pure country, his voice is pure tradition and his music is nothing short of fantastic. The fans loved him and so did the venue. I foresee a return trip to City Limits in his future.

Up next was newcomer, Josh Phillips. Personally, I'm not familiar with Josh but local fans sure did and seemed to love him from his shows around the central NC area. He performed cover songs and got the audience pumped up and ready to the main event. By the time Brian hit the stage, this audience was ready for a real throw down and that's exactly what they got. We will be adding his photos to the photo gallery soon!

Brian performed his show a little differently this time around and it was awesome. He did his first set with his original local band including his dad. They came out and you could feel the love between these guys, it was obvious in every note. The band was fantastic. This was such a laid back, fun set comprised of Brian's older music and honestly, almost felt like he was playing in his backyard and we were all invited. Brian said this was probably going to be the last time he played with them as a band on the road and it was a very touching, emotional moment at the end of the set when they all came out, held hands and took a final bow. The love between Brian and his dad was so obvious and the pride they both have for each other filled the room. Great set!

The second set was with his Nashville band, the band who hits the stage with him every night on the Hell on Wheels Tour. This band knew how to kick it up a notch and get this audience even more "under the influence" (of the music that is!). They played songs that were on the new cd and songs that they perform on the road with Brantley. With the recent addition of former Florida Georgia Line drummer, Jason Schmidt, to the current lineup of Brian and Lincoln on guitar and Jenkins on bass, this band is just exactly as it needs to be, the right combination of talent, the right mix of attitude and whole lot of HELL YEAH! It may have been cold outside but it was scorching inside. The venue stayed packed until the very last note was played and the last boot left the stage and the applause continued even after the stage was empty.

Thank you to Brian, the bands, the openers, the audience and City Limits for unforgettable, fun night. Please, if he's in your area, do not miss the opportunity to see Brian perform live. It's how country should be: straight forward, no filler and in your face honest music.

EVENT (ONLINE): TUESDAY, MAY 8 AT 8PM EDT - PAUL THORN "WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON" CD RELEASE PARTY ON STAGE IT

The "What The Hell Is Goin' On?" CD Release Show

THE "WHAT THE HELL IS GOIN' ON?" CD RELEASE SHOW ON STAGE IT

MAY 8, 8:00 PM EDT

30 MIN SHOW
PAY WHAT YOU CAN

Tune in for a very special Paul Thorn CD Release show! Paul will talk about and play tracks from his new album "What The Hell Is Goin' On?" on release day!
Paul Thorn took an unexpected detour on the road to recording a follow-up to his most successful release, 2010's Pimps and Preachers. After writing many discs of semi-autobiographical tunes that have drawn comparisons to John Hiatt and John Prine, the critically acclaimed singer/songwriter - hailed as the "Mark Twain of Americana" - decided to do an album of covers. "I wanted to take a break from myself
," he reveals, "do something different, and just have fun."

The collection, entitled What The Hell Is Goin' On? (due May 8th on Perpetual Obscurity/Thirty Tigers) finds Thorn putting his own gritty rock stamp on some of his favorite songs. There are some names familiar to Americana fans (Buddy Miller, Ray Wylie Hubbard), some lesser-known (Foy Vance, Wild Bill Emerson) and some surprises. The Buckingham/Nicks tune Don't Let Me Down Again originated on that duo's debut, not during the Fleetwood Mac era, while the Paul Rogers/Free song that Thorn chose to cover is an obscure one, Walk In My Shadow.

The idea for a covers album grew as Thorn encountered tunes that meant something important to him. "I would hear them in the tour van or I'd be at a festival and see someone perform them live," Thorn says, "and I'd say 'That's a great song, I wish I had written it!'" One thing all the writers of these songs have in common, according to Thorn, is that they are true artists. "They don't just write songs in an effort to become popular or follow trends," he explains. "At the risk of sounding corny, they write with their hearts. None of these songs are cookie-cutter tunes like you hear on the radio today. They all have real depth, which is very appealing to me."

CD REVIEW: "CHARLESTON, SC 1966" - DARIUS RUCKER

CD: "Charleston SC 1966"
Artist: Darius Rucker
Release: 2010

If Capitol Records recording artist, Darius Rucker, has proven one thing over the past year, it's his credibility as a country artist. In the current world of "pop goes the country", Darius is one of the few crossover artists that have shown they deserve the kudos they've received and have been embraced with open arms by both fans and the country music community. With a consistent delivery of 2 back to back chart topping cd's, there's nowhere left for Darius to go but on his current path of "up" and his latest release, "Charleston SC 1966" is doing just that. Hootie who?

In this latest project, Darius Rucker has collaborated with some of Nashville's finest storytellers including Brad Paisley, Kara DioGuardi, Frank Rogers and Ashley Gorley among other great songwriters. The cd's lead in single, "Come Back Song", is a humble and unassuming song that describes a situation we've all been in, being that person who's done something stupid, lost at love and is determined to win that love back. I gotta say, I am absolutely loving any song where the subject refers to themselves as the "back side of a mule". That's a line that you would only find in a country song. Another song on the cd, "Might Get Lucky", is definitely a song that any married couple with young kids can identify with - getting some "alone time" in between diapers, carpools, and other everyday distractions that cause you to have "lost that lovin' feeling". There are also some deep, soulful songs thrown in the mix such as "She's Beautiful" and "We All Fall Down". It's the thoughtful, sincere tunes such as these that, in my opinion, show Darius at his best.

At the end of the day, the cd is definitely a must have for those who like well written, well crafted and well sung music. Darius Rucker , I declare this cd a
keeper!

CD Review: "Halfway to Heaven" - Brantley Gilbert

CD: Halfway to Heaven
Release Date: March 16, 2010
Label: Average Joe's Entertainment

Georgia boy, Average Joe Entertainment's Brantley Gilbert, is taking Nashville by storm and his latest cd, "Halfway to Heaven", proves that he has what it takes to wear two hats in country music, songwriter and singer. He wears them both quite well from what I've heard on this cd. The tracks were written with some of country's lyrical best like Dallas Davidson, Rhett Akins, Jeremy Spillman and others. The cd features 12 tracks, that range from boot stompin' and bass thumpin' to tugging on the heartstrings. This is a huge testament to the fact that Brantley Gilbert  is a diverse artist, not just one side of the fence or the other. Brantley seems to be a country music outlaw, one that rides the borderline of what's mainstream in Nashville and one that's not willing to follow all the rules. Jason Aldean, move over, you're not the only new outlaw in town.

"Hell on Wheels" is a fine example of what I mean by his being an outlaw of sorts. He sings of telling those with a 'badge or a big mouth that they have no business running with the big dogs, riding 95 down the highway sideways, duct tape on his license plate and a six gun in the dash'. If that's not screaming "Hell on Wheels" and outlaw, then you're not listening close enough. The second track, "Bending the Rules and Breaking the Law", is his lyrical memory of growing up, making mistakes and realizing that those mistakes are what made him who he is today. I agree with BG on this one, 'I wouldn't change a thing.' "Halfway to Heaven" shows the other side of Brantley Gilbert, the more personal side, the heartfelt side. He tells the story of a near death experience that took him 'halfway to Heaven' and realizing that faith and God do exist and that if you have both, it will make you a better person. "Saving Amy" is probably my favorite of the more tender songs, a song that speaks of the survivor left behind after an accident, the spirit of the one who loved her watching over her to make sure she's moving on in her life. This cd is full of good music from track 1 to track 12.

If you like your music rockin' with a touch of honesty and diversity, then I would recommend getting a copy of "Halfway to Heaven". Great cd, love it!
