Big Loud Records’ breakout star Chris Lane celebrated his first #1 at Country radio with his debut GOLD-certified smash “Fix” at a formal gathering in Nashville hosted by BMI and ASCAP yesterday (10/10). Family, friends, and members of the music industry community gathered to commemorate the milestone and cheer on the songwriters - Sarah Buxton, Jesse Frasure, and Abe Stoklasa - as the publishers (Big Loud Shirt, Big Yellow Dog, Major Bob Music and Round Hill) honored each writer.

The day was extra special for all three songwriters since it marked the first career #1 for Stoklasa as well as the second #1 Buxton and Frasure shared together since they co-wrote Florida Georgia Line’s “Sun Daze.”

Nashville, TN (May 4, 2015) – Hot country newcomer Chris Lane rocketed into the Top 5 of Macy’s iHeartRadio Rising Star contest. Vying for the opening performance slot at the upcoming iHeartRadio Music Festival 2015, fans can exclusively preview Lane’s new song “Her Own Kind Of Beautiful,” at Macys.iHeart.com.

“To compete with artists of all genres in the Top 5 is completely mindblowing. I can't thank my fans enough for going to bat for me," says Lane.

Voting is open now through May 24 at Macys.iHeart.com or on Twitter using the hashtag #RisingStar and Lane’s Twitter handle: @iamChrisLane. The winner will be revealed on May 27.

New artist Chris Lane has most recently opened for Florida-Georgia Line on their “This is How We Roll” Tour, and has toured with a virtual “Who’s Who” of country music. His shows are always energetic, interesting and addictive. As a prolific touring artist, he hits everywhere. His current tour schedule has IL, VA, PA, GA, OH, IN, FL, KS, his home state of NC, as well as a stint on the high seas as part of Florida Georgia Line's "This is How We Cruise" included. The point is, you’ve probably seen Chris Lane somewhere before, so the fact that long-awaited debut single “Broken Windshield View” is finally being released is nothing short of exhilarating for so many people. If you haven’t heard of Chris Lane yet, you will shortly. If you want to know good music now before he comes to your state, then go ahead and give this a listen.

I really like the idea of “Broken Windshield View” being the song that officially introduces Chris Lane to country music fans and country radio. The reason being is because he sings about how and where he grew up and it’s simply an introduction of the person he is and the artist he is becoming and the road he took to get here. I love how even though I’ve not really spent any time in North Carolina, I can relate to so much of this song. I think a lot of people will certainly be able to, if only in a line. Whether it’s “All the money is the grain in the silo” or “My wheels have rolled all this red dirt” or my personal favorite, “Our Friday nights might get a little black and blue.” Because with most of us while growing up, how true was that? That’s the kind of line that makes you shake your head and think back to a memory you may have not thought about in a long time or even forgotten all together. Were there one word to describe this song, it would be “relatable,” because so much of this song I can identify with and if I can’t, I know people who can. It could’ve been written about the Midwest for sure. 

I can’t wait to see what Chris has coming up next! Why go with the title “Broken Windshield View?” I guess you’ll just have to listen to it and see!
