Performances by Chris Stapleton, Idina Menzel, Lady A, Lionel Richie, Little Big Town and Reba McEntire, Plus a Special Duet Featuring Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers

The life and legacy of country music legend Kenny Rogers is honored in a new star-studded concert special, “Kenny Rogers: All In For The Gambler,” to be broadcast Thursday, Sept. 23 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+. Filmed at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville before Rogers’ untimely passing, the live concert features on-stage tributes, artists’ anecdotes and inspiring songs performed in front of the music icon himself, as he bid farewell to performing and announced his retirement.

Featured artists, including Chris Stapleton, Idina Menzel, Lady A, Lionel Richie, Little Big Town and Reba McEntire, sing some of Rogers’ greatest hits, such as “The Gambler,” “Lady,” “She Believes in Me,” “Through the Years,” “Lucille,” “We’ve Got Tonight” and more. In a special tribute, Rogers’ dear friend and longtime duet partner, global superstar Dolly Parton, takes the stage to share touching memories and anecdotes about Rogers, performing a series of songs that culminate in an emotional finale featuring Rogers himself.

“Kenny Rogers’ enormous impact on Country music was matched only by the love all the artists and fans showed Kenny on this incredible night. We are so thrilled to share this special with his friends, family and fans all around the world as he will remain forever in our hearts,” said Executive Producers Keith Wortman and Ken Levitan.

“Kenny Rogers: All In For The Gambler” is a production of Blackbird Presents. Keith Wortman is creator and executive producer, with Ken Levitan as an executive producer.

CHARLIE DANIELS 80TH BIRTHDAY VOLUNTEER JAM IS THE HOTTEST TICKET IN TOWN

ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL TICKETS ON SALE BY POPULAR DEMAND

"Jam" Tradition to Celebrate Charlie Daniels' 80th Birthday With Guests 3 Doors Down, Chris Stapleton, Kid Rock, Larry the Cable Guy, Luke Bryan and Travis Tritt

Due to popular demand, with over 10,000 tickets sold to date, the producers of Charlie Daniels 80th Birthday Volunteer Jam have released additional seating at Bridgestone Arena on November 30 so that as many fans and friends as possible can experience this monumental occasion. The jam will feature guests 3 Doors Down, Chris Stapleton, Kid Rock, Larry The Cable Guy, Luke Bryan and Travis Tritt to celebrate with Charlie Daniels.

Tickets for the much anticipated event are on sale now at all Ticketmaster locations and the Bridgestone Arena Box Office. Ticket prices start at $25.00.

After a star-studded 40th Anniversary Volunteer Jam last year, this year’s celebration event will feature The Charlie Daniels Band and a select bunch of their favorite musicians and entertainers on stage for an exhilarating event for the ages. Since 1974, Daniels has commissioned his musical friends and peers to come together on a “volunteer” basis to hang out, “jam” together, and entertain crowds in an unconventional, laid-back fashion unknown to any other concert event -- all while dedicating concert proceeds to worthy causes. This year’s event will feature extra special “jam” sessions with some of Charlie’s most prolific friends who want to celebrate the soon-to-be Country Music Hall of Famer, his birthday, and his many accomplishments.

"I am extremely humbled and excited for this year's Volunteer Jam. I think the fans are going to get a great variety of music from rock to country to southern rock with this stellar lineup, which reminds me so much of some of the early 'Jams' that we held at Municipal Auditorium," says Charlie Daniels. "We are also going to be raising some well-needed money to continue our support of the Veterans through the Journey Home Project."

A portion of the proceeds from the night will go to the The Journey Home Project, a 501(c)(3) non-profit co-founded by Daniels and manager, David Corlew, to help Veterans of the United States Armed Forces. For more info on The Journey Home Project, please visit: thejourneyhomeproject.org.

“The Volunteer Jam has been a staple of the Charlie Daniels Band’s career since 1974. We’re thrilled to be able to use the platform we’ve built through the years to give back to the men and women who give so much of themselves for us, our veterans. This is a culmination of wonderful friends, hard work and great music that is shaping up to be one of the best Volunteer Jam’s to date!” said David Corlew, Charlie Daniels’ manager and co-founder of The Journey Home Project.

Charlie Daniels’ 80th Birthday Volunteer Jam is produced by Mike Smardak of Outback Concerts in association with David Corlew & Associates and Webster & Associates.

POSITIVE MUSICAL INFLUENCES IN 2015

Music is a healing power, a sense of being, an answer to questions you never realized you had and answers to prayers you thought weren't heard. It's a positive influence on so many people in so many ways and we thought we'd share our choices of some of the artists that inspired, motivated and made us think about more than getting drunk, getting high or getting lucky in 2015. Their music had a message, the way they carry themselves left an impression and they created a positive presence in the world of country music. These artists provided a positive light to lead others, to be role models and to simply make a difference. These are the people whose influences we found to be most positive in 2015. If you have one you'd like to share, please leave a comment.

This couple defines inspiration. Joey gave birth to the sweetest baby girl with Downs Syndrome, Indiana in 2014 and in the middle of such a wonderful time for the family, also found out that Joey had cervical cancer. This year, it was announced that the cancer had spread and there was nothing medically that could be done so it was decided that she would halt treatments and leave her future in God's hands. During this time, you haven't heard a negative word from the family, you've only seen positive inspiration and a desire for Joey to live her days as only God knows and in the best way she can, as a mother, a wife, and a friend. Despite the prognosis and the physical pain she's endured, we have yet to see her without a smile on her face. With the country music world behind her in prayer, she has been seeing better days as of late, being able to actually get out of bed and spend time with her family laughing and smiling. If only we all had that positive spirit about us, this world would be a much better place.

With a near constant smile on her face, Kelsea Ballerini can light up an entire room just by walking in, making the worst mood much better just with her positive attitude. There is nothing fake or put on about Kelsea, what you see is what you get. She's a positive role model for young girls, never selling herself on any assets other than her talent.  She's a breath of positive fresh air for this genre and it's refreshing that her voice doesn't need automated "adjustments", she is just perfect as she is. She's been on about every entertainment show there is, graced many a magazine cover, interviewed with countless outlets, won awards and done many things but what she hasn't done is let any of it change who she is.

Mo is an old soul with fresh ideas on how to bring the tradition and respect of country music back to the forefront, to remind us that it's ok to share your faith and to believe in a power higher than yourself. He's also a pleasant reminder that humility is a welcome thing and something we don't see that often in today's music world. He is always grateful and it reflects in his attitude and in his music. Mo has proven that it's ok to be a "Country" artist and that sticking to who you are is just fine.

There is nothing about Chris Stapleton that isn't inspirational or motivational. His perseverance in the industry over the years without complaining that "Nashville doesn't know good music" or that certain artists or songs "aren't country" are things that reflect on the kind of person he is and what he's about ... he's content to just play the music and if the industry catches on, great, if they don't, he seems to be ok with that too. He's not about being the "next big thing" even though the industry FINALLY paid attention this year and now he really is the "next big thing". It hasn't changed who he is or how he behaves in the public eye. While the world is talking about how good he is, Chris remains the quiet, humble and appreciative guy he's always been. You won't see his face on every magazine cover. You won't see his shows crammed full of extra props and antics he doesn't need to distract from his talent .. what you'll see at a Chris Stapleton show is simply Chris, his guitar and a voice that was obviously one that God saw fit for the right person with the right heart.

Having dealt with a devastating blow a few years ago when his record label closed without warning just before the radio release of his first single, Benton Blount didn't let that hold him back or make him bitter. What it did do is make him more determined to do things HIS way and do them the way that felt right for him. He also realized that what it did for him was give him time with his family, to be a present husband and father to his wife and young son (and new daughter that's on the way). This year, his second chance came in the form of "America's Got Talent" where he auditioned and was cut just before the Top 5 finals. This second chance has put Benton back in the game with a fan base that has grown exponentially and he released a single, "God Talks to Me". God talked to Benton in a big way this year and that talk has put him back on the path to success and he's proven that even the toughest obstacles are put in your way to see just how hard you are willing to fight to get past them. He fought and he won. The best of the rest is yet to come.

These two outspoken young women virtually came out of nowhere and shook up the "bro country" world with their retort that women are more than a pair of cut off shorts and a tank top, that they're more than the typical description of a "Girl in a Country Song" and opened the door wide open for a female movement in country music. They followed up their smash debut with a song about spreading your wings and believing in your dreams with the inspirational tune, "Fly". Maddie and Tae are showing young girls and women alike that it's ok to stand tall and do your own thing, to just fly.

It was a rough year for Miranda, full of ups but also full of more downs than anyone should have to deal with - intrusions by the media and Internet trolls speculating and pointing fingers about her divorce from Blake Shelton, photos of Blake and Gwen's new "relationship" plastered all over social media and television every time she batted an eye and she's handled the entire situation with class, grace and dignity, never saying a negative word in the press (at least not that I've seen or heard), keeping her social media timeline above board and showing the world that she's getting through this just fine and that it's not keeping her down. She may be quiet for the time being, but that certainly doesn't mean she's down for the count. Expect Miranda to come back like a champ in 2016 and to keep reminding us why we love her.

Randy Rogers went through an emotional roller coaster this year with the excitement of the birth of a dark haired beautiful baby girl named Rumer Rain, posting his family's joy on his social media timeline with a photo and announcement, only to be shattered by her death six days later. Rumer was diagnosed with Nonketotic Hyperglycinemia (NKH), which is a rare genetic disorder affecting only about 1 in 66,000 newborns each year in the United States and unfortunately has no cure. The condition impairs the brain and leads to seizures, limpness in the muscles, breathing and difficulties with feeding and lethargy. Instead of retreating, Randy continued forward armed with the information he now had on this disease to help other parents suffering from the same situation by joining with Seton Medical Center Austin to fund "nesting suites" for families of babies who have been assigned to neonatal intensive care. These suites allow families to remain with their child around the clock, to talk to doctors and nurses, and be part of their child's care system even if the mother has been discharged. He's making a positive difference out of his own personal loss for so many people.

Rusty Golden, the son of Oak Ridge Boys member, William Lee Golden, has been dependent on pain medication since health issues back in 2002. This addiction was a struggle for Rusty and eventually took him to Rob's Ranch in Oklahoma where he began his fight against the demons to regain his inner strength and become sober again. During his stay at the ranch, Rusty began to write and perform songs for others in ranch fighting this difficult battle. These songs began his  road to personal healing and lead him to "Sober", his emotional and personal album of these songs that inspired and motivated him to put the struggle behind him and move forward. Rusty wants his music to matter, to make a difference in someones life. This album is his way of making that happen.

Wade Hayes was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer in 2011 which went into remission in 2012. Since then Wade has been a positive and inspiring voice for those suffering from this life threatening disease. Shortly after finding out he had cancer, he wrote and released a single about the realization that his time was limited called "Is It Already Time". His faith has never wavered and his hope led him to his 2015 album with a message, "Go Live Your Life".  He also talks about his battle and participates in cancer awareness events to spread his words of hope and to remind people that we all have an expiration date and none of us know when that date is and until your time comes, you just have to believe and get out and live with the best of your abilities, be the best person you can and love as much as you can.

Mark may not have new music out right now, but if you pay attention to his social media feeds, there is nothing this guy posts that isn't positive. Whether it be the regular posts about his love of country, the personal photos of he and his family, his belief and support of our military and it's veterans, or his funny selfies and "Dubsmash" videos, Mark always keeps it real and keeps us entertained in a positive way. Look for new music on the way from Mark in 2016, we'll be talking A LOT about it!

ARTISTS TO WATCH IN 2016 - VOICES THAT ARE GONNA ROCK THE NEW YEAR

Another year of great music comes to a close in a couple of weeks but that means a start to another year of even better music to come. 2015 introduced us to several new artists who took off in a big way and are going to make an even bigger impact on country music in 2016. Here are the names, faces and voices that we think you should keep on your 2016 radar. It's shaping up to be a fantastic new year!

William Michael Morgan  -www.williammichaelmorgan.com
Twitter - @WMMorgan
Facebook - WilliamMichaelMorgan
Instagram - @wmmorganmusic

There's a lot of country tradition under this guy's hat. With a Keith Whitley soul and a voice that immediately brings to mind what country used to be, William Michael Morgan is reminding us what country was meant to be - pure, simple and honest. There's no fluff, no unnecessary excess ... he doesn't need it. What William Michael Morgan portrays is exactly who he is. His debut single, "I Met a Girl" is turning hats everywhere and making people stop to listen. While he may have met a girl, country music is the lucky one because we met one heck of an artist.

Leah Turner - www.leahturner.com
Twitter - @LeahTurnerMusic
Facebook - LeahTurnerMusic
Instagram - @LeahTurnerMusic

Leah Turner dared you to "Take the Keys" on her debut single, now she's taking those keys and opening the door to new beginnings with her new single, "Cowboy's Love". The single's video has been on the CMT Pure 12 Pack for a few weeks now and the single officially comes to iTunes on Friday, 12/18. She's grit and grace, the daughter of a team roper who isn't afraid to wrangle with anyone who tries to change her style. We think she'll be roping in a winner with the new single and you'll be hearing a lot more from Leah in the upcoming year. Leah is a country bad ass, but in a Loretta Lynn "Fist City", "You Ain't Woman Enough" way. Fans need to take country radio to "Fist City" and let them know that she's a "must add."

Mo Pitney - www.mopitney.com
Twitter - @MoPitney
Facebook - MoPitneyOfficial
Instagram - @MoPitney

Mo was another one we named an artist to watch in 2015 and now we add him again to the must watch list for 2016.

If you're a country music fan, I mean a TRIED and TRUE fan of twang, tradition and storytelling, you need to tune into Mo Pitney. Remember the name because Mo is the real deal, the next voice of traditional "sop grandma's homemade biscuits up with some gravy" country music. Trust me, country isn't dead, it's just starting to come back to life with a revival of the likes of new artists like of Mo, Craig Campbell, Sturgill Simpson, Cody Wickline, and William Michael Morgan. These new artists are knocking at country's door and fans are starting to answer the door with an enthusiastic response.

In June 2015, Pitney became the first debuting performer in 14 years to earn a standing ovation at the Grand Ole Opry. The last one was Turner. It could be a while before someone shows the merit to repeat that feat.

He's released several songs this year -  "Country", which was a writing collaboration with country legend "Whisperin" Bill Anderson, the personal and emotional tearjerker "Clean Up on Aisle Five", the upbeat invitation to "Come Do a Little Life" and the flirty and fun "Boy and a Girl Thing." There's nothing that isn't genuine about Mo or his music. We do take a chance on assuming that you're gonna love what you hear and that fans will be making him a voice of 2016.

Cam - www.camcountry.com
Twitter - @CamCountry
Facebook - CamCountry
Instagram - @CamCountry

You've seen her everywhere this year since releasing her debut single, "My Mistake to Make" and it's platinum certified follow up, the hauntingly beautiful "Burning House". Cam has graced many magazines, talk shows, radio shows, and stages in 2015 and hopefully we'll see her accepting her first Grammy for Best Country Solo Performance for "Burning House." Cam has a classic quality in her voice and an infectious attitude that seems to spread throughout a room quite quickly. It's qualities like this that make the difference between a wannabe and a star and Cam is star quality and she's more than proven it in such a short time. With the success of both singles, the "Burning House" video and her recent critically acclaimed CD, "Untamed", as strange as it seems, 2015 was just a beginning for Cam. I think it's safe to say we can expect another banner year for her in 2016.

Chris Stapleton - www.chrisstapleton.com
Twitter - @ChrisStapleton
Facebook - ChrisStapletonOfficial
Instagram - @CAStapleton

We had Chris as one of our artists to watch in 2015 and we weren't kidding. Chris released his then unknown "Traveller" CD which stayed behind the scenes until the ACM Awards where this quiet, unassuming bearded guy in a hat took over the night and surprised the music world by swooping in like a hawk collecting his prey and walked away with 3 of the night's most prestigious awards. While it may have been a shock to those at home, it was in no way a surprise of any kind for any country music industry person or fan in the know that night, we were all cheering and hitting social media with "I Told You About This Guy A Long Time Ago" accolades and congratulations. His performance of the George Jones' classic, "Tennessee Whiskey" with Justin Timberlake was one of the most talked about performances in ages and left a mark where it counts, in the hearts and ears of listeners. His CD sales shot through the roof and radio FINALLY got a clue and started adding his music to their rotations. 2016 is shaping up to bring country back full circle and there is "Nobody to Blame" but Chris Stapleton.

Kasey Tyndall - www.kaseytyndall.com
Twitter - @KaseyTyndall
Facebook - KaseyTyndallMusic
Instagram - @KaseyTyndall

What's that quote by Shakespeare? Though she be but little, she is fierce? Well he obviously had a premonition about Kasey Tyndall. She's a petite little thing but her voice is absolutely fierce and her "get it done" attitude would make Larry the Cable Guy proud. Picked out of tons of video entries, Keith Urban personally chose Kasey to sing a duet with him in Raleigh during his tour stop in August 2014 and her career has been nonstop since then, having moved to Nashville and working with Tennessee East Management (run by Dave Rose of Deep South Entertainment who works with Parmalee, Stryper and other well known artists and Kevin Frazier, local NC venue owner). She's caught the ear of industry professionals, is opening for well known artists as well as performing on her own and released her first single, "Prove Me Wrong" in 2015 with a follow up single on the way. Kasey's a strong one and she's gonna prove them all wrong in 2016!

Morgan Myles - www.morganmyleslive.com
Twitter - @MorganMylesLive
Facebook - MorganMylesLive
Instagram - @MorganMylesLive

Morgan isn't just another blonde in the country crowd because she was born to stand out. With an edge in her voice that reminds one of early Miranda Lambert and a confidence that rivals any top selling country female, Morgan Myles does anything but fit in. With a new EP on the way, "Miss Morgan Myles" is gonna make her mark on 2016. We're really diggin' what Morgan has to offer and after you go to her website and take a listen to "Whiskey Dreaming", I think you'll be right there with us on this one.

Drake White - www.drakewhite.com
Twitter - @DrakeWhite
Facebook - DrakeWhiteMusic
Instagram - @DrakeWhiteStomp

His music just "Feels Good." Really, that's how I'd sum up Drake White. You can't help but move when his music comes on and it really does just give you a good feeling. We've followed Drake for awhile now ever since seeing him open for Montgomery Gentry a few years back in Danville, VA. He's come a long way since then and has performed on the historic Opry stage multiple times. His shows are electric, energizing and over the top fun. His positive attitude and interaction with his fan base makes him a top favorite for 2016.

Chris Janson - www.chrisjanson.com
Twitter - @Jason_Chris
Facebook - ChrisJansonMusic
Instagram - @TheChrisJanson

Chris is another artist who had one hell of a breakout in 2015, but again, that was just the start of what we're gonna see from him in the upcoming year. His independently released single, "Buy Me a Boat" hit the top of the iTunes charts, a relatively unknown feat for an unsigned artist and that set off a fireworks display of major proportions in the industry, leading to a video being funded by CMT, a major label signing with Warner Bros, a re-release of the single to country radio which resulted in his first #1 hit on Mediabase and a platinum certification just this month, multiple appearances on the Opry stage, the release of his debut album and the release of his follow up single "The Power of Positive Drinkin'".  Chris Janson is here to stay and I wouldn't hesistate to say we'll be seeing him at #1 during the next year.

Granger Smith - www.grangersmith.com
Twitter - @GrangerSmith
Facebook - GrangerSmith
Instagram - @GrangerSmith

What can I say other than it's about damn time that the world caught on to Granger's music. They caught onto his alter ego, "Earl Dibbles, Jr." a long time ago. Who would have thought that anyone would attempt the alter ego thing since the whole Garth Brooks/Chris Gaines thing (even though that's one of my favorite albums), but Granger did it and it works. His music works just as well as his sense of humor. His previous CD, "Dirt Road Driveway" released in 2013 was great but just didn't take off but thanks to his new single, "Backroad Song", Granger Smith is back on the highway and headed a new, successful direction. He recently made his Opry debut and you can count on hearing much more from him in 2016.

Maren Morris - www.marenmorris.com
Twitter - @MarenMorris
Facebook - MarenMorris
Instagram - @MarenMorris

At the age of 25, Maren Morris has already established a name for herself in the ultra-competitive Nashville circles with her multi-stylistic vocal influence. Maren signed a publishing deal with Big Yellow Dog Music after winning the 2012 New Music Seminar's "Artist on the Verge" award. Maren's songwriting credits include cuts by Kelly Clarkson and Tim McGraw. Maren has shared the stage with artists such as Gary Allan, Marty Stuart, Radney Foster, Eli Young and others. She recently released her own single, "My Church", which is garnering acclaim on Sirius XM's The Highway and is being picked up by stations nationwide.

Chris Carmack - www.chriscarmackmusic.com
Twitter - @RealCarmack
Facebook - @ChrisCarmackMusic
Instagram - @RealCarmack

Best known as super jock Luke on "The O.C" and for his modeling turns with Abercrombie and Fitch and other well known brands, Chris Carmack has become a well known face and voice around Music City since taking on the role of "Will Lexington", a singer/songwriter struggling not only with his music but with his sexuality, on ABC's "Nashville". This role has made Chris not only a household face, but a household name with his vocal ability. His chiseled features and smoldering good looks are just added bonuses to his musical talent. Chris just released his debut EP, "Pieces of You" to critical acclaim. Entertainment Weekly called the release "Stunning" while Digital Radio compared him to Keith Urban. Chris Carmack's fictitious character may be having a hard time coming to terms with who he is, but the real Chris Carmack has made it clearly known that he knows who he is and has already left his mark on the country music industry.

WAY BACK WEDNESDAY: "TENNESSEE WHISKEY" - GEORGE JONES

Perhaps not exactly a “Welcome to Summer” song but a great song nonetheless. I had the opportunity to see David Allan Coe a while back and this song hasn’t left my mind since. “Tennessee Whiskey” was originally done by David Allan Coe as the title track on his album released in 1981. The love song was crafted beautifully by the famed and brilliant Dean Dillon and Linda Hargrove. It’s been sung by everyone from the Possum himself, George Jones to more recently, Chris Stapleton and Meghan Lindsey of NBC's "The Voice". “Tennessee Whiskey” is a song about a barfly that found love outside of the whiskey bottle but as that’s the only love he’s ever known, that’s all he can compare it to. The chorus (and the entire song really) says it achingly and beautifully with

“You're as smooth as Tennesee whiskey
You're as sweet as strawberry wine
You're as warm as a glass of Brandy
And I stay stoned on your love all the time”

Dean Dillon has always written such eloquent lyrics and spun such worlds in mere minutes it leaves me incredulous, shaking my head the entire time. More currently, he’s written for greats such as Randy Travis, Garth Brooks, George Strait, Toby Keith, Blake Shelton, Kellie Pickler, Sammy Kershaw, Randy Rogers Band and just about everyone you can think of and those are just a few in this decade. Linda Hargrove passed away in 2010, but in her illustrious life had penned hits for Olivia Newton John, Lynn Anderson, Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette and the list goes on and on. Dean Dillon and Linda Hargrove create a rarity of a writing duo, such unique minds that have written with such soul (and Dillon continues to) that it is the essence of poetry in songwriting, more exquisite than most anything you will ever hear.

THE ONES TO WATCH IN 2014

Look out for these artists in 2014, they're gonna come at you like baby spider monkeys jacked up on Mountain Dew! This looks to be the year that the songwriters step into the spotlight with their own music. I really hope country radio pulls it's head out of it's ass so their ears are clear to listen to what these artists have to offer their listeners.

Sam Hunt

He may be known for his skills on the football field as a former quarterback for UAB and a free agent with the Kansas City Chiefs and also for his songwriting skills, having written Kenny Chesney's #1 single "Come Over" as well as the upcoming singles "Cop Car" from Keith Urban and "We Are Tonight" from Billy Currington, but Sam Hunt proved in 2013 that he's got the chops to step out from behind the pen and step up to the mic with his own hit single, "Raised On It", which got rave reviews from Sirius XM The Highway listeners and smaller market mainstream and locally owned stations. His live shows are fantastic and you can pretty much count on a sell out crowd. He's ready to score his first touchdown as a country artist in 2014.

Brandy Clark

As a songwriter, Brandy Clark's songs have been recorded by the likes of Miranda Lambert, The Band Perry, Reba McEntire, LeAnn Rimes, Billy Currington, Darius Rucker and Kacey Musgraves. Her style is simplistic, getting right to the heart of her own observation of human nature. They're dark yet retain a sense of humor about the reality of the topic at hand. As an artist, she's even better. She can tell the stories themselves better than anyone else, putting her own personality and spin into the storytelling. Her single, "Stripes", was a hit on Sirius XM's "The Highway" and mainstream stations that actually realize there's great music outside the Top 20 and aren't afraid to listen to their fans and play it.

She's got country twang, almost reminiscent of a new Loretta Lynn. I think Brandy is what country's been missing, a strong female presence who keeps it real and puts herself out there as who she is and her music is a reflection of that person. Her cd "12 Stories" is one of the best cd's released this year. She will be making a huge impact in 2014.

"Her debut album 12 Stories, which is available now, Brandy delivers a stunning tour-de-force worthy of mention alongside the very best albums of the year." -  Darryl Addison, Great American Country

"12 Stories is one of those rare albums whose every song is worth hearing — every one is that striking, that textured and finely detailed. It is my fervent hope that Clark, who's helped other women achieve hit singles — Miranda Lambert, The Band Perry and Kasey Musgraves, to name a few — will have her own hits from among these smoothly crafted, emotionally rough compositions." - - Ken Tucker, NPR.Org

Chris Stapleton

Chris Stapleton is another songwriter who had a great career with hits like Kenny Chesney's "Never Wanted Nothing More", George Strait's “Love's Gonna Make It Alright” and "Come Back Song" from Darius Rucker. Over 150 of his songs have made the cut on albums by artists including Adele, Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley and Dierks Bentley. While his songwriting is outstanding, it's his voice that will stop you in your tracks. With powerful vocals, a wide range and solid ability, Chris can belt out a song and make you listen. His first solo effort, "What Are You Listening To" has garnered top shelf reviews from industry folk ...

"The timing couldn’t be better for a song like this, but really there’s no wrong time for a track that mixes tear-jerking lyrics and genuine vocals. It’s a veteran performance from a man who is only a country newcomer in the eyes of radio." -
 Billy Dukes, Taste of Country

"Every once in a while you run into a singer here in Nashville who just blows you away, an artist who can create sound in an effortless manner and transport your soul out of this world ... That someone proved to be Chris Stapleton." -  Lisa Konicki, Country Weekly

I think we'll be hearing a lot more from Chris in 2014, whether country radio stands behind him or not. Country music stands behind him.

Other than his songwriting, I never really understood the draw of Eric Paslay until I saw him perform live and that was the moment I completely got it. Eric, who's written such hits as "Barefoot Blue Jean Night", Eli Young Band's "Even If It Breaks Your Heart" and Love and Theft's single "Angel Eyes", can stand on his own as a performer just fine. His breakout single, "Never Really Wanted" peaked at #48, his follow up single, "If The Fish Don't Bite" peaked at #58 but it was his recent hit, "Friday Night" that really resonated with country radio, peaking at #8 on the Country Airplay charts.

His performance style is simple and understated and that's what makes him so great to watch. He doesn't have to rely on stage antics, videos playing in the background, all the flashing lights or things that actually distract from the music itself. You can see the love of what he does best when it's just he and his guitar. He keeps the same energy level you hear in the radio version of his music and that energy transfers to those in the audience.

His debut cd is due in February and I think he's gonna have a top seller on his hands.

"His genius is not overthinking simple ideas that fans will enjoy for their simplicity." -  Billy Dukes, Taste of Country

"With this single and music video for “Friday Night,” Eric Paslay proves that he is one of the most underrated singers and songwriters in country music." - - Markos Papadatos - Digital Journal

Kellie Pickler

Kellie's been a household name ever since she was on American Idol. She's had a few songs here and there but none that really showcased just how good of an artist she really is. She's so much more than a bubbly personality or that cute blonde girl from NC. She's an artist to be reckoned with and her last cd, "100 Proof" proved that. Her new cd, "The Woman I Am" proves it even more. This cd is a combination of the two cds. I would have called it "100% Kellie" because it is exactly that, 100% the woman she is.

What I love about Kellie is that she's not really out to impress anyone, she just sings and has so much fun doing it. She's as country as they come and as complicated as you probably don't see. She breaks out both in her music and the combination is perfectly Kellie. I hope she makes her mark this year because she's more than proven herself.

"One of biggest injustices of Country Music the past couple of years was the fact that 100 Proof did not make Kellie Pickler a household name with Country Music fans."

"Kellie Pickler shows that in addition to being one of country music's most dominant personalities - she's also one of it's most effective singers. Hopefully, this album will show that to the masses!"

- Both quotes by Chuck Dauphin, Music News Nashville and Billboard

Steve Holy

Steve Holy has something that's hard to find in country music, the ability to actually infuse his personality into each song he sings. If you've ever met Steve, you know he's one of the most humble, kindest and funniest people you'll ever meet and his music reflects each of those aspects of his character. He loves to tell a story, whether it be through a ballad like his #1 song "Good Morning Beautiful", his #1 hit, the tongue in cheek "Brand New Girlfriend", or any other song he sings. The story never fails to come through and people love that about him.

He's got the classic voice, the classic good looks, the great back story about growing up the youngest of 8 siblings in Texas and he's maintained his personal goal of always remaining true to himself, his music and approachable to his fans. He always makes time for those who come to his shows, often shaking hands, taking pictures and signing right up until he is pushed on stage. He's a people person and loves to include audience participation in his shows.

For some reason, whether it be problems with his label or poor promotions, the ball seems to always be dropped when it comes to his music. He released "Radio Up" this year, an outstanding song, one that could have put him right back up at the top of the charts and showcases his strongest and best vocals to date. "Radio Up" gained great reviews both from fans and industry personnel alike, but for some reason the ball was dropped yet again and another great artist and song fell through the cracks in 2013.

With some other projects in the works, I think we'll be seeing Steve Holy at his best in 2014, coming back strong and proving that he deserves air play and that fans want it.

"What a great song by Steve Holy. It has the musicality that made Steve who he is today with a great vibe that makes it "relevant" in today's #Countrymusic world. The lyrics tell that story that Steve is so good at telling. I liked the song on the first spin, felt fresh yet familiar. Makes me very excited for the rest of his new music!" - - Nickie Techmanski, Country Watch

"OK, You know we in the industry love a song that mentions radio in it. But, this is actually one of Steve Holy’s best vocal performances yet. His voices soars into an Orbison-esque stratosphere as the chorus bounces along. A definite hit." - CDXCD.Com
