THE CHARLIE DANIELS PATRIOT AWARDS DINNER SET FOR OCT. 27 AT NASHVILLE’S CITY WINERY

This Year’s Recipients Include Darryl Worley, Mark “Oz” Geist,
The Daniels Center at MTSU and Marty & Cindy Daniel of Daniel Defense

Country Music Star and Previous Patriot Award
Recipient Chris Young Scheduled to Perform

All Dinner Proceeds Benefit The Charlie Daniels Journey Home Project

Announced today, the third annual Charlie Daniels Patriot Awards Dinner will be held on Oct. 27 at Nashville’s City Winery. This year’s Patriot Award recipients include country singer Darryl Worley, decorated military veteran Mark "Oz" Geist (Benghazi survivor and co-author of 13 Hours / US Marine Corps, retired), The Daniels Center at MTSU (Middle Tennessee State University) and firearms manufacturers Marty and Cindy Daniel of Daniel Defense. All proceeds from the evening will benefit the late Country Music Hall of Fame member’s veterans non-profit, The Charlie Daniels Journey Home Project (TCDJHP).

“Winning the Charlie Daniels Patriot Award is one of the greatest honors that could ever come my way," says Worley. "It is total confirmation that my service to the men and women of the U.S. military is righteous and good. I pray that I can always enjoy the freedom that they afford us all and live a life worthy of their sacrifices."

Multi-platinum, global entertainer Chris Young, a previous recipient of the Patriot Award, is set to perform live. Special guest speakers will include former New York City Police Commissioner Bernie Kerik, David Rutherford (former U.S. Navy SEAL), Eddie Gallagher (former U.S. Navy SEAL) and decorated military veterans Chris Spence and Mario Vigil, two of the "Real Horse Soldiers" portrayed in the 2018 critically-acclaimed film, 12 Strong, starring Chris Hemsworth. SiriusXM’s Storme Warren will co-host along with Rutherford. The dinner ceremony will also include a silent and live auction.

"Charlie and I had many conversations regarding how we could pay respect and honor to those that crossed our paths, that go above and beyond in supporting our active military, as well as our returning veterans,” explains Daniels’ longtime manager and TCDJHP co-founder David Corlew. "The Charlie Daniels Patriot Award personifies the extraordinary acts of respect and care for those that have served this great nation. The award is a thank you from Charlie himself."

Corlew and TCDJHP board member Major General Terry "Max" Haston (retired) will also speak at the event.

Prior to his passing last year, Daniels and Corlew handpicked this year's Patriot Award recipients. The criteria for the award is based on the mission of the organization: to support veterans in their return, rehabilitation, and reintegration back into civilian life. The award honors a person, persons, or group that fulfills and exemplifies the efforts and dedication of TCDJHP's purpose to continuously care, support and encourage the men, women, and families who have served our great nation. Previous recipients include Young, Mike Huckabee, Jude Seale, William Horton, Donnie Mingus and The Shepherd’s Center.

CHRIS YOUNG SCORES NINTH NO. 1 WITH LATEST SINGLE - “SOBER SATURDAY NIGHT”

Collaboration with Vince Gill is third consecutive chart-topper
from GOLD album I’m Comin’ Over

CHRIS YOUNG scores his ninth No. 1 today as “Sober Saturday Night” his collaboration with VINCE GILL, takes the top of the Billboard and Country Aircheck radio charts this week. The “undeniably country ballad” (Taste of Country), named one of Esquire’s 10 Best Songs and written by Young with Brad and Brett Warren, is the third consecutive chart-topper from Chris’s Gold-certified album I’m Comin’ Over, which opened at #1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums Chart. “Sober Saturday Night” is the follow up to Chris’s ACM, CMA and Grammy® nominated duet “Think Of You,” with Cassadee Pope.

Chris formed his appreciation for the history of country music listening and watching closely to genre ambassadors like Gill. Growing up in Middle Tennessee, Chris witnessed Vince perform for a sold-out crowd at Nashville’s former Starwood Amphitheater.

Recalling the recording session with his now friend and mentor, Chris said, “I got to sit in his studio and hang out with Vince all day. It's just such a cool full-circle thing for me. He’s absolutely someone that I put on a pedestal as a vocalist, as a musician, and as a person.”

"I'm really grateful to be a part of Chris's great career up to this point,” said Vince. “He has an amazing future ahead of him. Thank you Chris for the opportunity to become a collaborator and a friend."

Chris and Vince debuted the celebrated single on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” performing the song with multi-dimensional hip-hop group The Roots in 2016.

Chris Young headlined a string of three sold-out shows across California last week, kicking off the run at the Ventura County Fair where the nightly concert quickly found itself at capacity, with the biggest crowds this year and a line out the gates to get a glimpse of the show.

“Chris Young’s performance at the 2016 Ventura County Fair was sensational, and attracted the largest concert crowd during the Fair’s 12 day run,“ said Ventura County Fair CEO, Barbara Quaid.

The following night Young returned to the OC Fair at Pacific Amphitheater in Costa Mesa, CA for a repeat of last year’s sold-out performance at the same venue.

“Chris Young knows how to captivate a crowd,” declared the Orange County Register. “Young brought his tour to Pacific Amphitheatre in Costa Mesa Thursday night and performed in front of a lively sold-out audience that sang, danced and at times tried to completely drown him out as they belted familiar lines from their favorite songs.”

Friday he headlined the Del Mar Race Track and witnessed capacity crowds singing along to a hit packed set including chart-toppers “Think Of You,” “I’m Comin’ Over,” “Voices,” “Tomorrow,” “Gettin’ You Home” and his latest hit and current single, “Sober Saturday Night.”

With a busy tour schedule on the books to round out the summer, Young is looking ahead to September 29 and the launch of the fall leg of his headlining “I’m Comin’ Over Tour.” He’ll play 25 shows running September through the end of the year with special guests Dan + Shay in September and October and Dustin Lynch coming on board in November and December. Cassadee Pope, who provided direct support for the first leg of the tour, is returning for all fall dates of Young’s “I’m Comin’ Over Tour.” Tickets can be purchased at aeglive.com and ChrisYoungCountry.com.

CHRIS YOUNG CELEBRATES FOUR ACM AWARD NOMINATIONS

No.1 Album and Single I’m Comin’ Over earn Young nods as Artist and Producer

Chris Young, “one of country music’s most reliable hitmakers” (USA Today), didn’t think it could get any better after a stellar weekend that included playing to packed houses in Cleveland, Cincinnati, Nashville and Miami and joining as a celebrity coach for Sunday night’s NHL® All-Star Game. That is until he was awoken a few hours later to a slew of text and voice messages congratulating the “I’m Comin’ Over” singer on an extraordinary four Academy of Country Music Awards nominations - as artist and producer – for his No. 1 Single and Album, I’m Comin’ Over. The 51st Academy of Country Music Awards® will broadcast LIVE from the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, NV on Sunday April 3, 2016 at 8:00 PM – 11:00PM ET/delayed PT on the CBS Television Network.

“It’s all really surreal,” said Chris Young in reaction to his four ACM nominations revealed this morning. “This is the first time that me and my co-producer Corey Crowder got together in the studio. When we wrote ‘I’m Comin’ Over’ with Josh Hoge we thought we had something really special with the song and the whole record -- it’s my first nomination as a producer in any category and as an artist to have your name up there for album of the year and single of the year, it’s pretty dang amazing!”

Hailed by the New York Times as “excellent” and “one more…strong chapter in a steady career full of them,” the praise for Young’s I’m Comin’ Over is especially notable as the ACM nominated vocalist took his first turn as co-producer on this fifth album, alongside Corey Crowder. The three week chart-topping lead single and title track is certified Platinum by the RIAA.

In addition to the accolades, Young is starting the year on a high-note as he kicked off his headlining “I’m Comin’ Over” Tour last weekend with sold-out shows, enlisting his duet partner Cassadee Pope as special guest for fourteen shows through mid-March. Not only is Chris Young, one of “country music’s strongest, most distinctive voices” (Billboard), experiencing the strongest sales of his career for his steamy new single, “I’m Comin’ Over,” he’s also witnessing his biggest crowds to date! Over 8,000 cheering fans turned out for his sold-out show at the Pacific Amphitheater in Costa Mesa, California over the weekend.

“Chris Young impresses a sold-out Pacific Amphitheater…the energetic entertainer is very charming and knows how to work his crowd… with enough content to create an entirely radio hit-filled hour-and-15-minute set, Young didn’t waste much time getting his fans going,” declared the OC Register.

OC Fair talent buyer Lisa Sexton shared, “the show was incredible…one of the best of our season!”

Young kicked off the weekend’s run in Costa Mesa, CA, followed by shows in Tacoma, WA and Brownsville, OR. Chris has quickly become a consistent headliner, selling out shows over the last year with a hit packed set including chart-toppers “Who I Am With You,” “Tomorrow” and “Gettin’ You Home.”

On October 22, Young will ignite his headlining “I’m Comin’ Over” Tour in Savannah, GA with tourmates Eric Paslay and Clare Dunn. Tickets are on sale now at chrisyoungcountry.com. His newest album, I’m Comin’ Over, will release later this fall.
