#COUNTRYGIVESBACK - CHUCK WICKS' "VOICES FOR VALOR" EVENT RAISES OVER $25,000 TO SUPPORT THE SPECIAL FORCES CHARITABLE TRUST'

Chuck Wicks' “Voices For Valor” event raised a record-breaking $25,000 for Special Forces Charitable Trust during the event held last night, Wednesday, June 7, 2022, at the historic Woolworth Theatre.

The event, hosted by Wicks, featured RaeLynn, Logan Crosby, Laura Osnes, Bethany Joy, and a surprise appearances from Red Marlow, a finalist on NBC's The Voice.

As a devoted advocate of the SFCT's cause, Chuck Wicks passionately shared, "I've seen first hand how Special Forces Charitable Trust can help our Green Berets and their families from the numerous programs they have put together that specifically target what these brave men/women may need help with after being at war or being apart from loved ones for so long. This evening was just one way we can fight for them and show them that we appreciate all they do and care for the sacrifices they make for all of us and this country."

The event served as a way to raise awareness and funds for the SFCT, a renowned 501(c)(3) charity that provides crucial support to the Green Berets and their families. This remarkable organization implements innovative and comprehensive programs designed to enhance the well-being and health of Special Forces Soldiers and their loved ones.

“Voices for Valor,” coinciding with CMA Fest, provides an exceptional opportunity for country music enthusiasts to come together and support the brave Green Berets and their families.

CHUCK WICKS TEAMS WITH JIMMIE ALLEN ON COVER OF CLASSIC STEPHEN BISHOP TRACK “ON AND ON” - AVAILABLE TODAY

Listen to “On and On” HERE

Today singer/songwriter and country music personality Chuck Wicks releases his latest, a cover of the classic Stephen Bishop track “On and On,” featuring multi-Platinum recording artist Jimmie Allen. Following “Old with You,” dubbed by MusicRow as an “ultra-romantic ballad” that “swoons with images of lasting love, tempered by tenderness, gratitude and joy,” today’s release on Verge Records is a perfect companion song empathizing with people who have had trouble finding that forever love which “Old with You” celebrates.

Written and originally recorded by Stephen Bishop in 1977, “On and On” has been covered several times over the years including versions by Kenny Rankin, British reggae group Aswad and most recently Jonathan Coulton. However, this is the first cover of the hit song by a country artist. And the track is tailor made for the genre, weaving a forlorn country tale of heartbreak and cheatin’ as old as time.

“‘On and On’ was one of the first songs I learned on a guitar. Because of that I always thought it would be awesome to put it on one of my records and now is the right time,” shares Wicks. “It’s never been covered in Country music which amazes me because the original has always struck me as a crossover record with country roots. Having Jimmie Allen featured on this song takes it next level and gives it new life for today’s sound while staying true to its classic form.”

Earlier this month Circle Network launched its first animated series “Road Stories.” Hosted by Wicks, the innovative series features the multihyphenate entertainment personality interviewing country artists including Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Brett Young, Jon Pardi and more who have been transformed into animated characters to relive their greatest stories from being on the road. The 30-minute, weekly primetime series airs Friday at 10 p.m. ET on Circle. In addition to “Road Stories,” Wicks can be heard every Monday and Thursday with fresh episodes of his iHeart podcast “Talk to Chuck.”

SINGLE REVIEW: "SATURDAY AFTERNOON" - CHUCK WICKS

SINGLE: "Saturday Afternoon"
ARTIST: Chuck Wicks
REVIEWER: Alyse Smith
Follow Alyse on Twitter at @ASmith1300

Chuck Wicks’ newest single “Saturday Afternoon” is exactly what it sounds like.  His ideal Saturday afternoon, a day both relaxing and enlivening.  Wicks and the girl he’s singing about driving out to the country on a Saturday afternoon, seeing what kind of trouble they can get into.  Weather’s good, beer’s waiting and company’s all he wants.  Wicks’ vocals never disappoint and this latest single is no different.  Guitar and percussion add a little island flavor in the background, while keeping the country sound at the forefront.  The line describing what she’s attired in and adorned with “Baby blue jeans little mood ring I can't wait to find out what that purple means” along with our handy friends at Google teaches us that purple on a mood ring either means happy, sensual or a combination thereof. Things would seem to bode well for our protagonist then.

The most memorable phrase here would be “My little kiss-and-tell bombshell” as that’s a picture that’s easily visualized.  A mellow song for a mellow day, I can see this being a success as a summer going into fall song.
