NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 3, 2014) – George Strait already holds the unrivaled record for the most CMA Award nominations of any artist in history, and today he is adding yet another to the list with a nod for this year’s CMA Entertainer of the Year. The nomination marks Strait’s 83rd CMA Award nomination overall and his 19th in the coveted Entertainer of the Year category. If Strait repeats his 2013 victory, he will take home his fourth CMA Entertainer of the Year title and the 23rd CMA Award of his legendary career.

"It's a great honor to be nominated for CMA Entertainer of the Year,” Strait shared after the nominations were announced this morning. “It's been an incredible year, and this just puts the icing on the cake!"

Earlier this year, Strait completed the final leg of his farewell The Cowboy Rides Away Tour with a record-breaking show at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The star-studded event brought in the largest crowd of any North American indoor concert in history, topping out with nearly 105,000 in attendance. On Tuesday, Sept. 16, Strait will release the 20-track live album The Cowboy Rides Away: Live from AT&T Stadium, produced by Chuck Ainlay and George Strait for George Strait Productions.

GEORGE STRAIT KICKS-OFF FINAL LEG OF THE COWBOY RIDES AWAY TOUR

Bossier City, La. – Musical icon and reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year George Strait kicked-off the second second leg of his final two-year tour, The Cowboy Rides Away Tour presented by Quicken Loans, last night, January 9, 2014, at CenturyLink Center in Bossier City, Louisiana. The show held an attendance of 13,957 and broke Strait’s own top two venue records for highest grossing shows of all time at the venue (beating his previous No. 1 record from his tour with Reba McEntire and Lee Ann Womack on Sept. 18, 2010 and his No. 2 arena show record with Martina McBride on Jan. 28, 2012).


Addressing the crowd throughout the night, some notable moments included when special guest Jason Aldean joined Strait for “Fool Hearted Memory” and “Nobody In His Right Mind Would’ve Left Her.” Additionally, Strait was joined by his longtime friend Lieutenant General Leroy Cisco, U.S. Army (Retired) to continue their tour tradition of presenting the keys to a home as part of the Homes 4 Wounded Heroes through the Military Warriors Support Foundation initiative (www.militarywarriors.org). The 539th recipient of the program was U.S. Army Specialist Douglas Michael Edds who was joined by wife Tanya Edds on stage during the presentation.

GEORGE STRAIT PUTS FINAL TOUR STOP AT AT&T STADIUM ON SALE THIS WEEK

Tickets for the "King of Country’s" final tour stop on June 7, 2014 to go on sale Friday, Dec. 6


NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Dec. 5, 2013) – Tickets for legendary country artist and CMA Entertainer of the Year George Strait’s final tour stop at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas will officially go on sale tomorrow, Dec. 6, 2013. The 100,000-seat capacity stadium is home to the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys and a fitting venue for the last date on Quicken Loans Presents George Strait’s The Cowboy Rides Away Tour 2014.

A star-studded lineup will join the “King of Country” on June 7, 2013; six-time Grammy Award-winning group Asleep At The Wheel will be the opening act and country superstars Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Ronnie Dunn, Vince Gill, Faith Hill, Alan Jackson, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride and Lee Ann Womack will each perform three songs during the show.

Tickets will go on sale on Strait's official website Friday, Dec. 6 at 10:00 a.m. CST. Country fans will also have the opportunity to purchase standing-room-only (SRO) tickets for the final show, starting at an affordable $35 per ticket.

Additionally, CID Entertainment is offering VIP experiences and travel packages for purchase. The “Ace in the Hole” package includes premium seating, an invitation to an exclusive pre-show party in “The King’s Tavern Lounge” with complimentary food and cash bar, a tour of “The King’s Exhibit” (a private exhibit of George Strait memorabilia from his own collection), a VIP parking pass, VIP laminate, limited merchandise gift and tour poster, private merchandise shopping, and an on-site event host. A limited number of “The Troubadour” VIP packages secures one front row seat in addition to the pre-show events and access listed above, plus a guitar signed by George Strait.

GEORGE STRAIT SELLS OUT LOS ANGELES’ STAPLES CENTER IN 9 MINUTES

More than 17,000 tickets sold for Feb. 8 tour stop

(Sept. 27, 2013) – Reigning “King of Country” George Strait will be holding court with 17,178 ticket holders during his highly-anticipated appearance at Los Angeles’ STAPLES Center on February 8, 2014. The concert, which sold out within 9 minutes today, Friday, Sept. 27, was his first to go on sale and will be Strait’s ninth stop during the last leg of his final, two-year The Cowboy Rides Away Tour.

DALLAS COWBOYS TO BE JOINED BY COUNTRY MUSIC LEGEND GEORGE STRAIT ON SUNDAY

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - September 5, 2013 - Country music icon George Strait will join the Dallas Cowboys on the field Sunday night, Sept. 8, when they open the season against the New York Giants at AT&T Stadium. Strait will serve as an honorary captain for the coin toss prior to kickoff. This will make Strait’s second visit to the home of the Cowboys, having performed here in 2009 as the first event ever held at the venue.

The following day, Monday, Sept. 9 Strait is expected to hold a press conference from the stadium regarding his 2014 The Cowboy Rides Away Tour that will be streamed live on GeorgeStrait.com and YouTube.com/georgestrait or by following @georgestrait on twitter beginning at 11 a.m. CDT.

GEORGE STRAIT PREPARES TO RIDE AWAY


Tour dates commence Jan. 18 at the United Spirit Arena in Lubbock, Texas


NASHVILLE, Tenn. – George Strait announced the news of his two-year final U.S. tour last fall, and now the time has come to saddle up for the 2013 leg of The Cowboy Rides Away Tour, opening at the United Spirit Arena in Lubbock, Texas this Friday, Jan. 18.  Joining the icon on tour will be special guest Martina McBride, who is not only a fan, but a longtime friend of Strait’s.

The excitement surrounding this tour was evident when tickets in most markets sold out within mere minutes of going on sale.  Sharing in the fans’ enthusiasm, Strait reveals, “I've got over 30 years of great memories out on that road.  I'm sure these last two are going to be just as good or better. It's going to be fun but at the same time sad. I can't wait!”

With 59 No. 1 hit songs under his belt, concert-goers can expect to hear many of their Strait favorites plus new music including his latest single, “Give It All We Got Tonight,” one of the first releases from Strait’s forthcoming album due out later this year. “Give It All We Got Tonight” is currently available on iTunes.

The Cowboy Rides Away Tour is a "Strait"Away Sell-Out

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Friday, October 12, 2012) – George Strait’s The Cowboy Rides Away Tour featuring special guest Martina McBride was so popular when tickets went on sale this morning that six tour markets sold out within the first few hours—with Lubbock, Texas selling all 15,431 tickets within just 15 minutes.  

“I never expected the fans would react like this. It’s just incredible,” shared an ecstatic Strait upon learning the news.  “I really do have the best fans in the world, and I’m looking forward to seeing you all on the road very soon.”

In addition to Lubbock, sold out cities include Oklahoma City, Okla., St. Paul, Minn., Albuquerque, N.M., Las Vegas, Nev., and Las Cruces, N.M. In select markets, remaining single show tickets are still available for purchase.
