Fortune Announces 14th Annual Alaskan Cruise for July 2017

Country Music Hall of Fame singer/songwriter Jimmy Fortune is gearing up for his upcoming 2017 North American tour, which includes more than 40 stops (see dates below). The must-see tour is already underway, with several standout appearances in 20 different states. Fans will also have a chance to catch waves with Fortune later this year, as he appears on the 14th Annual Jimmy Fortune Alaskan Cruise.

“This is my 14th year as a solo artist and I’ve been very blessed to have also had a successful career with the Statler Brothers, and now still being able to go to these great places and towns,” said Jimmy Fortune. “Being able to say thank you to the fans is what I look forward to the most. Signing autographs and hearing stories from fans after each show is always a highlight.”

Since getting his start with the iconic Statler Brothers exactly 35 years ago singing tenor, the chart topper has transitioned from group member to a successful solo artist. As a member of both the Country Music Hall of Fame and Gospel Music Hall of Fame, along with penning No. 1 country hits such as “Elizabeth” and “Too Much On My Heart,” Fortune has a history of captivating country and gospel music fans. Hundreds of fans and members of the music industry community gathered at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena to watch the breakout duo's final rehearsal before they embark on the 32-city tour, which kicks off this Thursday (10/3) in Brookings, SD. The hot newcomers were surprised with a special presentation commemorating several recent career milestones. FGL scored three plaques for the PLATINUM certification of their aptly titled debut album HERE’S TO THE GOOD TIMES; GOLD certification for “Round Here,” and breaking the record for longest #1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs Chart with "Cruise."

“Granddaddy’s Gun” is the latest single from Lewis' critically acclaimed album The Road. The song, which was written by Rhett Akins, Dallas Davidson and Bobby Pinson, marks the first time Lewis has ever recorded a song that he didn’t write.

“I was on a hunting trip with Rhett and he grabbed a guitar and started playing me the song,” recounts Lewis. “He was about halfway through the first chorus and I knew I was going to ask for his blessing to put it on my record. It was very much the kind of song I could have written. The lyrics really closely portray my life.”

The song shipped to radio in late June and is being greeted warmly by programmers. “’Granddaddy’s Gun’ is a smash that speaks to the heart of our format,” says Kerry Wolfe, Program Director of WMIL/Milwaukee. “It’s a song about family and values passed down from generation to generation. Now that's impressive, I don't care if you like the song or not or whether you like the group or not. Those that know me, know I am not a fan of crossover. I prefer my country pure, but since the first time I saw these guys perform live a few years back, I loved their show, their personalities and their work ethic and knew it was a group I had to support. Is the music "country", technically no, but it has a twang to it and if you listen to their first cd, you can hear the country in it. The second cd, this one, is more rock/pop directed but whatever you call them, country fans are loving them, I see it everyday. The numbers speak for themselves, they're doing something right. I'm proud of them, stand by them and support them wholeheartedly. They are all great guys with charisma that could bring Attila the Hun to his knees, humble hearts and a genuine kindness that is rare in this industry. They're living their dream which is more than most of us can say. New Single “Get Your Shine On” Is Top 25 & Climbing

Nashville, TN (February 13, 2013) – The good times keep coming for Florida Georgia Line – and just this morning – the rising country duo has been awarded the Academy of Country Music’s 2013 New Vocal Duo or Group honor, marking their first ACM win. FGL also scored nominations in the New Artist of the Year presented by Kohl’s and Vocal Duo of the Year categories. The award show will be broadcast live from Las Vegas on Sunday, April 7 on CBS at 8:00 PM ET / PT.

“We used to tell each other how fun it would be one day to actually attend an award show,” shares Brian Kelley. “This last year has been a whirlwind and we’ve had the opportunity to go to a few. With that said, we never dreamed we would win an award or receive multiple nominations. This is an unbelievable honor!”
