CMA CLOSEUP NEW ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: PARMALEE

A Southern rock patrimony, dues paid in church gigs, a player too drunk to pick, and a late-night gunfight: Parmalee’s Country pedigree is as real as it gets.

Brothers Matt and Scott Thomas tagged along on their father’s blues/rock band gigs around Greenville, N.C. Soon they started playing on their own, joined by their cousin Barry Knox, a church choir drummer. After their dad’s inebriated guitar player failed to appear for a show, Matt took his place, with Scott assuming the drum chair and Barry switching to bass. When guitarist and keyboard player Josh McSwain came onboard, Parmalee was born.

Their road led eventually to Nashville — specifically, to a parking lot on Demonbreun Street, where they lived in their RV for a month of intensive writing and demo recording. Even the 2010 flood didn’t stop them, but a bullet almost did: After a North Carolina show in September 2010, Scott suffered a near-fatal wound during a robbery attempt. (He did, however, kill one of his assailants with his own legal weapon.) Ten days in a coma and 35 days of hospitalization were his first steps toward recovery, which culminated in his rejoining the band to audition successfully for Stoney Creek Records.

Produced by the New Voice team, released in December, Feels Like Carolina loosely tells the band’s story through rock-solid vocals, tightly crafted tunes and a few discreet synthesizer effects — just enough to add a distinctive edge while keeping it Country.

THOMPSON SQUARE FORCED TO CANCEL THIS WEEKEND’S SHOWS DUE TO ILLNESS

NASHVILLE, TN – Reigning ACM & CMA Vocal Duo of the Year Thompson Square has been forced to cancel this weekend’s shows due to illness.

In a heartfelt message to fans today, Keifer Thompson states:

“It breaks my heart to tell our fans today that we must cancel our upcoming concert appearances this weekend. What many of you may not know is that I have recently been battling a very serious vocal condition.  I was urged by doctors to cancel Thompson Square's appearances and go on complete vocal rest several weeks ago; however, neither Shawna nor I wanted to disappoint our fans, which we love and respect dearly.  So we chose to continue performing our scheduled shows while I remained completely silent offstage in an effort to heal.  Unfortunately, at this time, I have been ordered by doctors to take the next step and to cancel this weekend’s shows in an effort to heal internally.

Words cannot express how devastated we both are to bring this news to our fans.  Our fans are on our minds every moment of every day – you are the reason we're here and the reason we get to live our dream of making music for a living.  We hope that you will understand what a difficult decision this has been and know that we can't wait to get back out on the road and make it up to you as soon as possible.”

Show cancellations include tonight’s headlining show in Glen Valley, VA at Innsbrook After Hours at the Snagajob Pavilion as well as Thompson Square’s appearances on the following Luke Bryan Dirt Road Diaries tour stops. Those shows will go on as planned with Cole Swindell now appearing.

May 30 -   Canandiagua, NY
May 31 -   Hartford, CT
June 1  -   Camden, NJ
June 2  -   Boston, MA

Thompson Square is a current CMT Music Award and Teen Choice Award nominee. The duo’s new album, JUST FEELS GOOD, is in stores now.

PARMALEE DELIVERS EMERGENCY FUNDS, MUSIC AND MORE ON THE BOBBY BONES SHOW IN SUPPORT OF OK TORNADO VICTIMS

(Nashville, TN) – Stoney Creek Records act Parmalee dropped by The Bobby Bones Show this morning to deliver a donation of $5,000 on behalf of its record label and to support the victims of the recent Oklahoma tornado that devastated the city of Moore, OK on Monday.

Program host Bobby Bones issued a call to action live on the show inviting Nashville artists to stop by the studio to play a few songs and donate autographed guitars in an effort to raise support in the aftermath of the tragedy.

"Normally I'm not up at 5:00 a.m. but this morning I got up early and when I turned on the radio and heard Bobby Bones was helping the Oklahoma tornado victims, I immediately called him and said 'we're in, how can we help?'" said Scott Thomas. "We all grew-up in North Carolina and have seen the devastation and loss from hurricanes and how important it is for everyone to help rebuild homes and lives, so we want to help do that for everyone in Oklahoma."

Upon arrival, the band performed its current single, “Carolina” and per Bones’ request, a cover of Bob Seger’s “Night Moves.” Additionally, the band urged listeners and fellow Music Row peers to join forces and contribute to help in the aftermath of the disaster.

RACHEL FARLEY MAKES A 17-YEAR-OLD DREAM COME TRUE WITH GRAND OLE OPRY DEBUT

(Nashville, TN)- It’s not everyday that a 17-year-old has the opportunity to accomplish a lifelong dream, but RED Bow Records’ Rachel Farley did just that when she stepped onto the infamous Grand Ole Opry stage on Friday, March 15 for the first time in her musical career. The evening was quite surreal for Farley, considering it was only six years prior that she visited the Opry as a spectator to see one of her musical idols, Martina McBride, during her very first trip to Nashville.

"The first step in that circle, you always hear people talk about it, but wow," Farley told Shannon McCombs with America’s Opry Weekend immediately following her performance. "Wow, I mean, you just had to take a deep breath and take it in. It was amazing."

It was a reflective moment when legendary Country Music Hall of Famer and Opry member Bill Anderson introduced Rachel to the audience, reminiscing about how he came to know the young songstress several years prior.

“I met this little lady about three or four years ago, she was like 13 or 14 years old, and somebody from down in my home state of Georgia told me, ‘Listen out for this little girl ‘cause she is really gonna be something,’ and I’ll tell you what, she is.” explained Anderson.

SCOTTY MCCREERY SIGNS NEW MANAGEMENT DEAL WITH CASSETTY ENTERTAINMENT

Music Industry Veteran Todd Cassetty Launches Artist Management Firm with
American Idol Winner as First Client

NASHVILLE – October 30, 2012 – Scotty McCreery has entered an exclusive management deal with Cassetty Entertainment, a new artist management firm founded by long-time music industry entrepreneur Todd Cassetty

“I’ve been looking for the right artist to inspire me to integrate my twenty years of experience into an artist management role,” says Cassetty. “I’m excited to announce Scotty McCreery is that artist. His vocal talent and authenticity as an entertainer are the impetus behind Cassetty Entertainment, and I could not be more excited to work with him.”

For the past 18 months, Cassetty has been working with the platinum-selling McCreery, winner of American Idol season 10, on multiple projects from television shows to promotional campaigns to music videos. Says McCreery, “Todd has been involved in my career since I first came to Nashville after American Idol. Our great working relationship combined with Todd’s marketing background made the management decision a no-brainer.”

After winning Idol, McCreery became the youngest man in history to debut at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 all-genre albums chart with his first release, the platinum-selling Clear As Day. Since then, the Mercury Nashville/19 Recordings/Interscope recording artist has been named New Artist of the Year at both the Academy of Country Music Awards and the American Country Awards. He took home the USA Weekend Breakthrough Video of the Year Award at the 2012 CMT Music Awards for his hit video “The Trouble With Girls,” and just wrapped up touring with Brad Paisley on the “Virtual Reality Tour 2012” presented by Chevrolet. Most recently, McCreery added a new accolade to his long list of “firsts” by debuting at #1 on the Billboard Top Seasonal Albums chart with Christmas With Scotty McCreery, which sold over 40,000 units, making it the biggest selling holiday album to date in 2012.

Cassetty’s music industry career began in the early ‘90s with marketing and promotion stints at Country Radio Seminar, Warner/Reprise and Gaylord Entertainment’s MusicCountry.com. From there, he started Hi-Fi Fusion, Nashville’s first digital marketing company, which to this day still boasts a clientele that includes every major record label (Universal, Sony, Warner Bros., Big Machine, etc.) and some of the biggest names in music – Carrie Underwood, Toby Keith, Lady Antebellum, Rascal Flatts, Kenny Chesney, Sugarland, Keith Urban, Dixie Chicks, Brad Paisley, Tim McGraw, Garth Brooks and many more. In 2007, Cassetty started Todd Cassetty Welding Service, a television, video and film production company that has since created TV specials and music videos for the likes of McCreery, Blake Shelton, Reba McEntire and Taylor Swift, including Swift’s 2010 Thanksgiving Special for NBC.

As Cassetty turns his attention to McCreery’s career, additional details regarding Hi-Fi Fusion will be forthcoming.

For the remainder of 2012, McCreery will be making numerous yet-to-be-announced television appearances in support of Christmas With Scotty McCreery including a performance on ABC’s “CMA Country Christmas” and an appearance on FOX’s “American Country Awards.” In addition, McCreery will be making a myriad of concert stops from Washington to Alabama and from the Grand Ole Opry to New York’s Beacon Theater. AOL’s The Boot Exclusively Premieres Live Performance Video of Parmalee’s Hit Single “Musta Had A Good Time”

VIDEO AVAILABLE FOR VIEWING THROUGH JULY 23

Parmalee has come a long way from "Studio B." That's the nickname the four musicians gave a family friend's tiny barn, where they would practice with dreams of graduating from farm to fame.

"The barn is in Parmale, NC, near our homes, and every one of the 250 or so people who live in the town could hear us. We quit playing at 11:00 PM to be considerate and not get shut down," says lead singer Matt Thomas. "That barn in Parmale is where this band was born, so we thought there couldn't be a better name than Parmalee. We added the extra 'e' to help people pronounce it. It worked for Boston, Chicago and Alabama -- why not Parmalee?"

The band, which also includes Matt's brother Scott on drums, cousin Barry Knox on bass guitar and friend Josh McSwain on guitar, developed a following in the Carolinas and quickly became a hot act to book in local clubs. But their rise to stardom almost came crashing down after a horrifying incident in the fall of 2010. Parmalee had just played a gig in Rock Hill, S.C., when two armed men stormed their RV and tried to rob them. When one of the culprits pointed a gun at Matt, Scott grabbed his own gun. A shootout followed, and the Parmalee drummer was shot three times. He shot back at the robbers, killing one of them and wounding the other. After a medically induced coma and multiple surgeries, Scott is now thankfully fully recovered. He faced no charges in the shooting, as it was a clear case of self defense.

Parmalee, who describe their sound as "the country side of rock," is signed to Nashville's Stoney Creek Records, also home to Thompson Square and Randy Houser, among others. Their debut album for the label is expected in the coming months. The first taste of the project is the infectious "Musta Had a Good Time," which was recently voted the No. 1 song on Sirius/XM radio station the Highway's Top 30 countdown.

"'Musta Had a Good Time' describes that one epic party that all of us have either been to -- or hope to go to -- at some point in our lives," says Matt. "It's that one party that becomes a legend in a small town. The response that we get from fans when we play this song live is crazy -- the fans know all the words and everyone's dancing, and it becomes a party on stage and in the crowd. We're finding out that there's a lot of people out there who really like to have a good time."

Watch Parmalee perform their rockin' "Musta Had a Good Time" in the video below, which premieres exclusively on The Boot. --> CLICK HERE FOR EXCLUSIVE VIDEO ON "THEBOOT.COM"

DJ MILLER DISCUSSES SIGNIFICANCE OF “INK ON MY SKIN”

Nashville, TN (July 17, 2012) – DJ Miller is often asked the meaning of his tattoo inked on the inside of his right arm. A.M.W. 6-6-89-10-7-06. Those three letters and dates play a vital role in the release of Miller’s special album cut, “Ink On My Skin.” The emotional ballad co-written by Miller, Charlie Black, Don Goodman and Jon Conley is being made available on iTunes this week in honor of Miller’s good friend, Adam Michael Williams, who lost his life to an easily preventable automobile accident when he was 17. Miller dealt with his grief by immediately going out and having his buddy’s initials inked on his skin as a way to keep him close.
“I am privileged to have this opportunity to share this song in Adam’s honor,” says DJ Miller. “He was a great friend who lost his life way too early in a car accident. I’m on a mission to make all young driver’s realize that they are only human and can die or be seriously injured in a split second due to the choices they make whether it’s speeding, choosing not to wear a seatbelt or texting. Hopefully by sharing my very personal experience others will stop and think before getting behind the wheel. It may sound trite, but if we can save the life of one young driver through the words of this song, Adam’s legacy will live on in a very positive light."

Ink On My Skin” will be included on Miller’s forthcoming debut album due out later this year. Through the personal message of “Ink On My Skin," Miller hopes to make all young driver’s aware of their own mortality and the responsibilities that come with being behind the wheel.

PARMALEE MAKES OFFICIAL COUNTRY RADIO DEBUT WITH DOUBLE DIGIT ADDS

FANS VOTE “MUSTA HAD A GOOD TIME” #1
ON SiriusXM THE HIGHWAY’S “THE HOT 30 LIVE”

NASHVILLE, TN -- Stoney Creek Records’ latest signing, Country Rock band Parmalee has already earned its first #1 single. On Friday, July 6, Country fans voted Parmalee’s debut single, “Musta Had A Good Time,” into the #1 spot on SiriusXM The Highway’s The Hot 30 Live Countdown.

Parmalee fans’ votes of confidence coincides with the single’s official add date at Country Radio. “Musta Had A Good Time” made its debut on Monday with double digit adds, charting immediately out of the gate at #58 on the Billboard Country Songs Chart.

The single has already sold over 60,000 downloads on iTunes, landing it on the Soundscan Top 100 Country Songs chart for the last two weeks.

Preview and/or purchase “Musta Had A Good Time” on iTunes at: http://smarturl.it/MHGTiTunes

Country Rock foursome Parmalee is essentially a family band comprised of brothers Matt and Scott Thomas (lead vocals/ guitar and drums, respectively), cousin Barry Knox (bass) and lifelong best friend Josh McSwain (guitar).

Influenced by such musical heavyweights as the Allman Brothers, Travis Tritt and Bob Seger, the band’s name is derived from the small town of Parmele, NC (population 262), which is home to a gas station, two blinking yellow lights and a small tin-roofed barn dubbed Studio B where the band practiced on every given evening.

Cutting their teeth on the Southeastern touring circuit and known for their raucous, fun-loving live shows, the members of Parmalee endured a tumultuous journey to Nashville which included dangerous pit stops, catastrophic weather and a near-fatal robbery that would have torn most bands apart. Instead, Parmalee’s deep Country roots, intense motivation, and band-of-brothers sense of dedication brought the tight-knit crew even closer together.

Now signed to Stoney Creek Records – whose roster includes Grammy-nominees and 2012 ACM Vocal Duo of the Year Thompson Square as well as ACM & CMA nominee Randy Houser – Parmalee’s brand of music has met the Country format at time when Jason Aldean and Eric Church have helped to bring Country Rock to the forefront of popular Country music.

DUSTIN LYNCH REVEALS COVER ART & TRACK LISTING FOR SELF-TITLED DEBUT ALBUM IN STORES AUGUST 21

Debut Single, “Cowboys and Angels,” Goes Top 15 at Country Radio & Top 10 on Billboard Heatseekers Songs Chart Single Sales Surpass a Quarter of a Million

“COWBOYS AND ANGELS” LYRIC VIDEO PASSES 1 MILLION VIEWS MILESTONE ON YOUTUBE

NASHVILLE, TN – Broken Bow Records is proud to announce that rising star Dustin Lynch’s highly anticipated, self-titled debut album will be released on Tuesday, August 21st in both the U.S. and Canada.

The news comes on the heels of an outstanding week of accomplishments for Dustin Lynch’s debut single, “Cowboys and Angels,” the sweeping, lyrical epic which Lynch wrote alongside GRAMMY-winning songwriter Tim Nichols and chart-topping songwriter/ producer Josh Leo.
This week, “Cowboys and Angels,” soared into the Top 15 on the Mediabase Country Radio chart as well as landed at #8 on the Billboard Heatseekers Songs Chart.

Additionaly, the official lyric video for the visually stunning, romantic ballad surpassed ONE MILLION views on YouTube - a milestone for the rising star that Billboard magazine has lauded as one of the "Most Anticipated Debuts of 2012."

Dustin Lynch also earned his first #1 last week when “Cowboys and Angels” became the #1 CMT Ringtone.
“Cowboys and Angels” continues to grow on the sales chart as well, having sold more than 10k downloads for the past 12 consecutive weeks, with over 25k singles sold the last four. In fact, the single surpassed a quarter of a million cumulative sales this week.

Produced by Brett Beavers (Dierks Bentley) and Luke Wooten (Brad Paisley), the self-titled debut album will include 13 tracks – 10 of which were written or co-written by Lynch himself.

Lynch’s distinctively deep, emotional vocals are showcased throughout the album – an album that embodies his unique perspectives growing up and people watching in the small town of Tullahoma, TN. As both an artist and songwriter, Lynch was greatly influenced in his youth by the famed “Class of ‘89” comprised of such stalwart country singers as Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks and Clint Black.

From the clever, farm-life double entendre of “She Cranks My Tractor,” to the regretful longing of a rambler who has seen the error of his ways in “Waiting,” these influences are evident in Lynch’s vocal, lyric and melodic delivery.

Lynch’s lyrical observations are thoughtful, keen and often deeply personal. The rising star nostalgically waxes poetic on “Hurricane,” a sweeping power ballad about a whirlwind romance in which he sings “It’s a hell of a ride / if you can just survive the pain/ that’s the thing about a hurricane.”

In “Last Lap,” Lynch describes the Friday night pastime that was a way of life growing up in his hometown – cruising the strip, burning tires, cranking up the tunes, hollering at girls and switching cars at the red lights. In “Sittin’ Pretty,” Lynch sings the story of a Country boy who has landed the prettiest girl in his small town and is taking her for a spin in his old pick-up for the very first time.

From stories about small town life and escaping from the rat race, to cracker jack up-tempo party anthems, to songs about young love, first times and unrequited heartbreak, Dustin Lynch’s self-titled debut album tells a universal story from start to finish.

(NASHVILLE, TN) – The fan-voted accolades continue to roll in for Stoney Creek Records duo Thompson Square. This week, Thompson Square becomes the first Country act in history to land two music videos for the same song inside the GAC Top 20 Country Countdown.

Fans have voted both music videos for the hit single, “Glass,” up the Great American Country network’s video chart to land at #5 and at #17.

The reigning ACM Vocal Duo of the Year filmed two videos for the Top 20 and rising single, “Glass,” simply because the married duo couldn’t make the decision between a black and white or full-color visual interpretation of the song.

“We can never agree on anything,” Keifer Thompson said upon the release of the second music video. “Shawna wanted a color video and I wanted a black and white video. We figured, why argue about it? We can do both.”

The initially released music video for “Glass,” was directed by Roman White (Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson) in classic, black-and-white and currently sits at #5 on the GAC Top 20 Countdown.

The full color follow-up video for “Glass” - otherwise known as “Glass (Version T2)” -- was directed by Wes Edwards (“Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not” & “I Got You”) and rests at #17 on the GAC Top 20 Countdown.

Also this week, Thompson Square’s “Glass” saw a double-digit sales increase at iTunes for the 5th consecutive week, solidifying that the song has become the GRAMMY nominated act’s third bonafide smash single in a row. In fact, “Glass,” sales will overtake the pair’s previous Top 10 hit, “I Got You” in a matter of weeks. Just last week fans voted Thompson Square’s, “I Got You,” the winner of the “Duo Video of the Year” award at the 2012 CMT Music Awards.

Additionally, the former husband/ wife bartending team is featured in the current issue of People Country magazine. Shawna and Keifer Thompson visited the rooftop Bookmarks Lounge at the Library Hotel on their last trip to New York, sharing their favorite summer cocktail recipes with the editors of People Country for a three-page “The Good Life” spread. Exclusive photos, interview and Thompson Square’s personal drink recipes can be found in the July 2012 issue of the magazine, on stands now.

The reigning ACM “Vocal Duo of the Year,” Thompson Square has earned an astounding list of accolades in its first year and a half on the Country music scene. The husband/wife duo’s #1 smash, “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not,” earned them 2 GRAMMY Nominations as well as an American Music Award nom, 2 CMA noms, 5 CMT Music Award nominations, a Nationwide “Best New Live Act” nomination as well as a 2012 Teen Choice Award nomination for “Choice Country Group.” Keifer and Shawna Thompson are also winners of 3 fan-voted American Country Awards as well as the 2012 CMT Music Award for “Duo Video of the Year.”

“AYGKMON” is nearing Double Platinum sales status, was the #1 Digital Soundscan Single for 5 weeks straight, the #1 Country Ringtone for 12 consecutive weeks and was iTunes’ 2011 Country Song of the Year. Thompson Square’s whirlwind year has seen them on national tours supporting Jason Aldean and Lady Antebellum as well as gracing the stages of The Tonight Show w/ Jay Leno, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Conan, Fox & Friends All American Concert Series and the 45th Annual CMA Awards. Thompson Square (or T2) ended 2011 as Billboard’s #1 New Country Artist in terms of digital sales and the#6 New Artist across all genres.

Thompson Square is currently on tour with Lady Antebellum’s “Own the Night World Tour,” which takes the duo to Canada this week with stops in Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto.
