As Triple Tigers recording artist Scotty McCreery’s fastest rising single of his career reaches the Mediabase Top 30 and continues climbing, the multi-Platinum selling singer/songwriter premiered the official music video for “Damn Strait” yesterday evening via YouTube.

Filmed in the historic Gruene Hall in New Braunfels, Texas, where George Strait himself played for years honing his craft before landing a record deal and becoming the King of Country Music, the video was directed by Austin, Texas-based filmmaker Jeff Ray, who has collaborated with McCreery on the videos for “Five More Minutes,” “This is It” and “In Between.”

The video served as McCreery’s first visit to the legendary venue, and the video, like the song, pays homage to Strait, showcasing photos and memories from the beginning of his decades-long career while McCreery and band perform on the famed stage.

“‘Damn Strait’ is both a classic country heartbreak song as well as a tribute to George Strait,” said McCreery. “I knew I wanted to film it at a place that paid respect to both elements of the song. When my director Jeff Ray suggested Gruene Hall, where George performed regularly with his Ace in the Hole Band before becoming the legend that he is today, I knew that was the perfect location. You can feel the history and the music of country music’s past and present in every inch of that venue. I’ve wanted to visit Gruene Hall for a long time, and now that I have, I’m looking forward to eventually coming back there to do a show.”

Upon the song’s release, Rolling Stone named it a “Pick of the Week” calling it “clever songwriting, delivered by one of the genres’ best King George disciples,” while Billboard praises, “Another ace is the clever track ‘Damn Strait,’ a rare outside cut on the project, penned by Trent Tomlinson and Jim Collins, in which McCreery name checks several of King George's greatest hits.”

“Damn Strait” follows McCreery’s fourth consecutive No. 1 single “You Time,” also from his fifth studio album Same Truck. Released in late 2021, the Garner, North Carolina native shifted his perspective to reflect on the last decade of his career and life with wife Gabi and dog Moose, with Tennessean sharing, “McCreery walks a sonic tightrope that leans into his country influences while not abandoning modern Music Row hitmaking,” while Sounds Like Nashville observes, “with 12 tracks in total, those songs ended up showing more maturity than ever, and exploring everything from the common bonds his fans share to the eternal flame of romance.”

Same Truck was produced by Frank Rogers, Aaron Eshuis and Derek Wells, the team who produced his previous project, the RIAA Gold-certified Seasons Change which debuted at No.1 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart and contained three consecutive No. 1 hits: the Double RIAA Platinum-certified “Five More Minutes,” Platinum-certified “This is It,” and Gold-certified “In Between.” McCreery co-wrote every song on that album.

McCreery will continue his 2022 Same Truck Tour tomorrow Thursday, Feb. 10 at The Fillmore in Detroit, Mich. He’s also heading overseas both for the three day C2C (Country To Country) Festival in Ireland and the UK, as well as his own dates in Germany and the Netherlands. ERIN ENDERLIN ANNOUNCES THIRD RELEASE IN EP SERIES: CHAPTER THREE: WHATEVER GETS YOU THROUGH THE NIGHT

Singer-Songwriter Enderlin Continues Her Four-Part Musical Journey On August 23

Nashville troubadour Erin Enderlin will soon reveal the third chapter of her four-installment 2019 digital EP series with the eagerly-awaited release of Chapter Three: Whatever Gets You Through The Night on August 23. As did its predecessors, the new EP focuses on character-driven lyrical storytelling on matters of love, loss, struggle and hope.

This time around, Enderlin receives storytelling help from some friends, as she is joined on its three tracks by Dillon Carmichael (“Whatever Gets You Through The Night”), Vince Gill and Alison Kraus (“Sweet Emmylou”) and Ronnie Bowman on a gorgeous and faithful rendering of the Gene Watson’s “Use Me Again.”

Enderlin is already enjoying a successful 2019, with roughly a hundred shows on the touring calendar and her songs included on new releases by personal heroes Reba McEntire, Rhonda Vincent and Rodney Crowell. In June, she took home three Arkansas Country Music Awards including Female Vocalist of the Year and Songwriter of the Year. Shortly thereafter, the title track from Chapter Two: I Can Be Your Whiskey, was featured in Rolling Stone’s “10 Best Country Songs To Hear Now.”

Throughout her career as both a songwriter and an artist, Enderlin has remained steadfast in her commitment to making music steeped in the genuine traditions of country music and it's that conviction that is fueling a great deal of her current success.

“Erin’s authentic sound and heartfelt lyrics are reminiscent of the early days of The Judds,” Raised Rowdy recently proclaimed. “This is what country music should sound like, folks.”

Enderlin puts that authenticity on full display throughout Chapter Three: Whatever Gets You Through The Night. While the theme of Chapter Two: I Can Be Your Whiskey is the eternal pursuit of love, the thread that runs across Chapter Three: Whatever Gets You Through The Night is of the bitter heartbreak that comes from losing it. The Arkansas native croons mournfully about the travails of despair and loneliness on the EP’s title track while “Sweet Emmylou,” is a plea from the song’s broken-hearted main character to Emmylou Harris for help getting them through their heartbreak. Enderlin chooses the perspective of the “other woman” in Watson’s “Use Me Again,” written by Curly Putnam, Dale Dodson and Billy Lawson, to round out this chapter’s reflections on the desolation of love lost.

The fourth and final chapter in Enderlin’s storytelling tour de force is slated for release later this year.

ERIN ENDERLIN POURS OVER THE ADDICTION OF LOVE ON NEW EP

“Chapter Two: I Can Be Your Whiskey”

Hypnotizing new music video for “I Can Be Your Whiskey” featured on Rolling Stone’s “10 Best Country Songs”

Chapter Three and Chapter Four set for release later this year

Singer/songwriter/storyteller Erin Enderlin lets the love do the talking with the release of her highly anticipated EP "Chapter Two: I Can Be Your Whiskey" (Friday, June 28). The title track and official music video were featured in Rolling Stone’s “10 Best Country Songs,” who also declared, “Enderlin serves up this barroom ballad about desperation, long nights, and quick fixes…offering up her love as the ultimate vice.”

In what can only be described as down-right addictive, the video chronicles the day in, day out routine of a man searching for a cure for his broken heart within the walls of a run down bar. But what he discovers is that the answers to some of his most heart-wrenching questions lie simply and perfectly in the eyes of the singer up on stage, watching him and singing her own love-quenching song.

Indeed, love and the pursuit is a theme that flows through the entirety of Chapter Two: I Can Be Your Whiskey, which also includes the craving “A Man with 18 Wheels” and the truth-bearing “Old Flames (Can’t Hold a Candle to You).”

The EP is a worthy follow-up to the already released Chapter One: Tonight I Don’t Give a Damn, which the Arkansas native released in April of this year. Chapter Three and Chapter Four are also slated for release beyond the end of the year.
