TEXAS ARTISTS ELI YOUNG BAND AND GEORGE BIRGE LEND VOICES ON TENDER-HEARTED NEW TRIBUTE OF COUNTRY CLASSIC “AMY’S BACK IN AUSTIN”

Third Digital Release Of Upcoming Tribute Album God Blessed Texas Available Dec 1

Hailing from Denton and Austin, Texas, respectively, Eli Young Band and George Birge have teamed up to record a tender-hearted new cover of the 1994 hit song “Amy’s Back in Austin.” The melodious new single is the third release from the upcoming tribute album God Blessed Texas, which pays homage to American country music band Little Texas. The new music will be available Dec 1 for streaming and download.

Superbly crafted, “Amy’s Back in Austin” tells the story of a naive young couple seeking a better life by leaving their hometown together. Unfortunately, they learn the grass isn’t always greener on the other side and end up parting ways; he heads West and suspects she’s returned home. His love for her remains and occupies his thoughts, leaving listeners with a strikingly heartfelt ballad.

“Growing up, I was always a fan of Little Texas,” reveals Mike Eli - Eli Young Band. “Their songs were a huge part of country music in Texas. I was excited to be asked to sing on the record and it’s a huge honor to be part of this project.”

“Little Texas was a staple in my childhood, and ‘Amy’s Back in Austin’ was an era-defining song for me,” shares George Birge. “With Eli Young Band being one of my biggest musical influences, getting to share this track with them feels like a full circle moment for me in Country music. To be asked to be a part of this tribute album is such a huge honor.”

“We left Texas on a windy night
In a beat-up Chevy van
We loaded it up with our innocent dreams
And all the love we had
We didn’t know then how hard it was
Livin’ on our own
I’d find her cryin’ late at night
Talkin’ to the folks back home
I wonder what went wrong
And where is she now I’d love to know

I bet Amy’s back in Austin
Workin’ at the LaZona Rosa Cafe
I remember the night we lost it
And the day she went away
Was it the angry words or did she miss her momma
I don’t know but it don’t feel right
I bet Amy’s back in Austin
And I’m missin’ her tonight…”

“Amy’s Back in Austin” was co-written by Brady Seals and Stephen Allen Davis. Brandyn Steen served as Executive Producer on the new cover song and Duane Propes as Music Producer. It was recorded at ER Studio in Nashville, Tennessee, with mixing done by Bart Busch and engineering by David Spielberg. A-list session musicians included Duane Propes (bass guitar), Mark Matejka (lead and acoustic guitar) and Corey Wright (drums).

Musical band of brothers Mike Eli, James Young, Jon Jones and Chris Thompson will perform “Love Ain’t” on the broadcast and those watching at 7th and Constitution Ave. will also be treated to their latest single “Love Talking” at 1 p.m. ET.

The American Veterans Center (AVC) re-introduced the tradition of a Memorial Day parade along Constitution Avenue in 2005, decades after it had faded away during the Second World War. It has since grown into the largest Memorial Day commemoration in the country, sharing the sacrifices of generations past and present, in front of hundreds of thousands of spectators along the National Mall.

The parade’s television special will be hosted by Anthony Anderson (“Black-ish”) and Joe Buck (ESPN “Monday Night Football”), with veteran and celebrity Robert Irvine, with additional performances by Jimmie Allen and the United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own.” The star-studded line-up of celebrities also includes Renee Elise Goldsberry, Jimmy Kimmel, Joe Mantegna, Chris Pratt, Glen Powell, Gary Sinise and Wilmer Valderama with veteran of the legendary Tuskegee Airman Lt. Col. James Harvey III chosen as the Grand Marshal of the parade.

The National Memorial Day Parade will be nationally syndicated to over 100 million households on ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and CW stations, airing throughout the month of June. In addition, it will be broadcast to U.S. troops serving around the world and on Navy ships at sea on American Forces Network. For more information, visit NationalMemorialDayParade.com.

EYB will release their full-length album, "Love Talking" (The Valory Music Co.), later in the week and continue a tour of the same name that brings them back to D.C. for a release day concert on Friday, June 3. The trailblazing group has come a long way since their formation in 2000 at the University of North Texas, with a dynamic career thus far producing four chart-topping singles; 3x Platinum “Crazy Girl” and 2x Platinum “Even If It Breaks Your Heart” plus Platinum “Love Ain’t” and “Drunk Last Night.”

ELI YOUNG BAND KEEPS THE LOVE TALKING WITH NEW ALBUM ON JUNE 3; PRE-ORDER NOW

Title Track Continues to Impress at Country Radio, Across Streaming Platforms
& With Fans on the Road

“Break Up In A Bar” Joins “Lucky For Me” & Platinum-Certified No. 1 “Love Ain’t”

As current single “Love Talking” continues to impress program directors, playlist managers and fans alike, multi-Platinum hitmakers Eli Young Band reveal plans for a full-length album of the same name. Love Talking (The Valory Music Co.) is set for release Friday, June 3 and is available for pre-order HERE along with brand-new song “Break Up In A Bar.”

“We really wanted to find the positivity in what we got out of the last two years, so that was one of the main goals for this album,” notes lead singer Mike Eli. “There was a lot of unknown that was written into some of the music we created during that time, but we all lived it so deeply; we wanted to offer something uplifting with our music.”

“Break Up In A Bar,” a three-and-a-half-minute raucous response to saying goodbye to a relationship, offers that positive twist on a typically heavy topic while serving as one of the only outside cuts on the album, having been penned by Ashley Gorley, Ben Johnson and Hunter Phelps.

“Right away, you could just hear the melody in the song from the top and know, ‘okay, this is a special one.’ And the spin – it’s one of those songs lyrically you just wish you would have thought of,” reflects Eli, who crafted 7 of the 9 tracks. “We know that that’s always the first rule – if you hear something that you wish you would have thought of it’s worth that second listen. We just started playing it in our live show, and it’s funny to see the audience because they want to know it so bad… That’s a good sign.”

Overall, Eli found himself writing more than 150 songs in the time since the GRAMMY-nominated band released This Is Eli Young Band: Greatest Hits in 2019. On Love Talking, he joins forces with Nashville stalwarts Jimmy Robbins, Laura Veltz, Josh Osborne, Jon Nite and more. Also finding a home on the album is EYB’s Platinum-certified No. 1 hit “Love Ain’t,” whose songwriting credits include Ross Copperman, Ashley Gorley and Shane McAnally, plus preview track “Lucky For Me.”

The musical band of brothers – Mike Eli, James Young, Jon Jones and Chris Thompson – lay a strong foundation for today’s arrival of “Break Up In A Bar” as current single “Love Talking” earns early praise.

American Songwriter praised its “silky smooth” delivery showcasing “the fruits of the band’s recent creative explosion.” All Access concurred, “In this two minute and 50 second smash, lead singer Mike Eli’s voice embraces listeners like a warm hug,” with MusicRow remarking that “the echo gives the sound some extra juice, and the band is as proficient as ever.” In addition, Billboard featured the single as a “Makin’ Tracks” standout and named the song among the best of the week upon its release, noting that “this ultra-romantic new release from the group swirls with an irresistible melody and propulsive rhythm.”

Fans will have a chance to see the new music performed live alongside their multi-decade catalog of acclaimed hits, as EYB returns to the road for their 52-city Love Talking Tour.

The trailblazing group has come a long way since their formation in 2000 at the University of North Texas, with the multi-Platinum hitmakers’ dynamic career thus far producing four chart-topping singles; 3x Platinum “Crazy Girl,” 2x Platinum “Even If It Breaks Your Heart” and Platinum “Love Ain’t” and “Drunk Last Night.”

SONGS YOU SHOULD BE LISTENING TO: FRIDAY, JANUARY 7

Welcome to a new year! This year, tune into newer artists as well as veteran artists who are still releasing new music and give them some exposure. There is some good stuff released to digital outlets everywhere this week - check 'em out and please #sharethemusic!

If you are able to leave a review on the outlet you use, please do so and let them know how you like the song. These reviews are so helpful to an artist and their team. If you don't like the song, be constructive in your review, not rude. The point is to help these artists, not discourage. And yes, I know there are LOTS of good songs that have been released the past week or two and they're not all listed here. I choose the ones that stand out to me and those might not always stand out to you but at least you've heard about them. Most of the time they won't be by artists who saturate today's country radio but there might be one or two in there if the song hits me right.

Be sure to check out the artist's websites and find out more about them and the latest tour dates. Connect with them on social media.

SINGLE REVIEW: "TURN IT ON" - ELI YOUNG BAND

SINGLE: "Turn It On"
ARTIST: Eli Young Band
REVIEWER: Alyse Smith
Follow Alyse on Twitter at @ASmith1300

Eli Young Band’s newest single “Turn It On” is about running into an ex post-post-breakup, it’s been a while and hey what have you been up to? “Didn’t know you’d be here tonight.”  He can’t turn it off and on as easily as she can and she’s definitely turning him on tonight.  He’s wanting to reconnect at least for tonight and maybe rekindle something that can hopefully be re-lit.  No prior plans to, just running into her causes him to “want to pick it up where they left off.”  He ran into her in a bar and all the elements are there, beer, jukebox and the atmosphere in which they’ve previously connected in.  Full of Texas references and twang, Eli Young Band always showcases their roots whilst serenading you with a great story.  Consistently vivid to the point where if I was to go to the bar in the song, I’m certain I would recognize it.

Eli Young Band has had a storied career, even though Nashville has only woken to them in the past few years.  They’ve had hit after hit, mellifluous memoir after mellifluous memoir, epics painted in 5 minutes or less, whole worlds imagined and explored in their music.  From getting to know “Guinevere” when nobody else does to the solidarity in sadness “When It Rains” to absurdly original song and video “Crazy Girl” to the tremendously inspirational “Even If It Breaks Your Heart” there is a story that you will connect with and blast the speakers for.  There will be a journey taken that songsters Mike, James, John and Chris and will host and the tapestry woven will be unlike any other, neither in phenomenal vocals nor in any other part.

CD REVIEW: "10,000 TOWNS" - ELI YOUNG BAND

CD: 10,000 Towns
RELEASE DATE: 3/3/14
LABEL: Universal Republic
WRITTEN BY: Ingrid Loose
TWITTER: @LivestreamGirl

Eli Young Band is back with a brand new, much anticipated cd, "10,000 Towns", set for release March 3, 2014. Here's what our team member, Ingrid, had to say about the cd in her review:

"Starting off with “Drunk Last Night,” the lead off track by the Eli Young Band, this CD is a powerhouse of great music. It’s been quite some time since I’ve liked every song on a CD, but I found myself playing this CD over and over and it just got better the more I listened. The songs are well done with relatable lyrics and upbeat tempo. Even the slower paced songs keep your attention and are well written. I found myself initially finger tapping along with beat and by mid-way through the CD, my whole body was swaying to the music.

The songs were terrific. Anyone who has ever grown up in a small town will find the title track “10,000 Towns” a feel good song that takes you back to yearning for the small boring traditions that come with small town life. “Dust”, their latest single from the release, is a foot tapping upbeat new favorite song for me. Anyone who's ever dreamed of changing their life, starting new and not looking back, will be cranking up this song with the car windows down, burning their own dust in no time. “Angel Like You” slows things down a bit, a reminder that we all need someone who keeps us grounded, that one person who sticks with us no matter what. “Let’s Do Something Tonight” picks up the pace and makes you want to let go of your inhibitions, do something a little crazy (something that might get others “talking about it in the morning”). Love is captured in all forms as the CD continues and anyone who has loved and lost and is hesitant to give their heart away again will relate to “Your Last Broken Heart” and “What Does” (a song that just might make you cry). “Just Add Moonlight” will get your feet moving to the music and is another new all-time favorite for me, love it! Ever been in a relationship that just doesn’t seem right and you realize it before making the biggest mistake of your life? “Revelations” reminds us that sometimes love doesn’t work out and it’s a good thing. I loved it for it upbeat temp, almost jazzy subtle undertones. The CD rounds out with “Prayer for the Road”, an incredible song about how supporting someone you love with small gestures makes a difference in ways unimaginable. It inspires me to find love as it should be, unconditional.

Bravo Eli Young Band for a CD that offers everything life has - love, the search for meaning of life, happiness, sorrow, choices and consequences. As I listened to the CD, it conjured many different emotions but isn’t that exactly what good music is supposed to do? The whole CD flows well from song to song and is well worth a listen."

"10,000 Towns" is a "must have" for anyone's collection and is the album that finally brings Eli Young Band the attention and recognition they've long deserved.

TOBY KEITH TO DEBUT AUSTRALIAN ARENA TOUR IN 2014

Rob Potts Entertainment Edge, Chugg Entertainment and Foxtel's Country Music Channel (CMC)are thrilled to announce that American superstar TOBY KEITH will be making his first ever concert appearances in Australia in 2014, bringing his Hammer Down Under Tour to Australia for a series of massive arena concerts next March. Keith will also headline the 2014 CMC Rocks the Hunter festival at the Hope Estate in NSW's beautiful Hunter Valley.

Joining Keith on the tour will be special guest international stars ELI YOUNG BAND (USA) and KELLIE PICKLER (USA).

CEO of Entertainment Edge, Rob Potts said, "The Outlaws of country music have always been huge with Aussie fans. No surprise this country started out as a convict settlement. So we know why the fans are so excited about Toby's first ever tour here. They love his larrikin outlaw attitude and the fact that he doesn't take himself too seriously. We're super excited to have him touring in March and know the fans will go wild when he rolls out his incredible catalogue of hits. It's also terrific to welcome back Eli Young Band and to have Kellie Pickler on her first visit down under."

Executive Chairman of Chugg Entertainment, Michael Chugg said, "Toby Keith is one of the biggest artists in modern country music. We've been hearing about his rowdy, rockin' live show in this country for many years. One of the biggest songwriters in any genre, Aussie audiences have really connected with his irreverent humour. We still think "he's as good as he once was"- and with three international heavyweights on one bill, this is going to be the country tour of the year -  my mate Jimmy Buffett said he is not to be missed!"

Singer/songwriter TOBY KEITH is one of the most consistently successful artists in country music history, with over 35 million album sales and 31 US No. 1 singles in two decades of recording, including Should've Been A Cowboy, How Do You Like Me Now?!, Beer For My Horses, I Love This Bar, As Good As I Once Was and Red Solo Cup. Winner of multiple CMA, ACM and American Music Awards, the Billboard Country Artist of the Decade is renowned throughout the globe for his swaggering party songs, soulful ballads and rowdy, high-energy live performances.  Toby will also be performing songs from his new album, Drinks After Work, which will be released in Australia on 1 November, 2013.

The ELI YOUNG BAND honed their skills as an Eagles-esque live force in the Texas Red Dirt scene, building up an enviable fan following, before breaking into the mainstream country scene with their album, Level, in 2005. The Southern quartet blew us away in 2012 on their first trip down under and they've since moved into an even higher gear, with hits including the monster smash Crazy Girl, Even If It Breaks Your Heart and their latest release, Drunk Last Night.

Since rocketing to fame on American Idol, KELLIE PICKLER has been charming the public with her inimitable twang, cheeky charisma and powerful country pipes. Her hits include Red High Heels, I Wonder, Don't You Know You're Beautiful and Best Days of Your Life, and she has run the gamut from soul-baring vulnerability to girl power anthems and she constantly reaches for more honest, powerful and dynamic ways to tell her story. The CMT Music Award winner and ACM and CMA nominee, Pickler has also triumphed on television, as the 2013 winner of the US Dancing with the Stars.
