Bio Courtesy of NowPlayingNashville.com

A possible modern reincarnate of one part Patsy Cline, one part Kathryn Hepburn, and two parts all her own, Emily West brings her rich, distinctive vocals that echo the charming voices of the past, while adding her own unique brand of flare. Her voice and music is somewhat undefinable, somewhat a collaboration of music genres, and often times referred to as "enchanting" for good reason.

Emily was born and raised in Waterloo, Iowa, and moved to Nashville after graduating high school. A once shy child in a large family, Emily blossomed when she discovered the legendary Patsy Cline. "I started to come out of my shell a little bit. I was amazed by this lady and how she sang all these love songs. It was vulnerable and desperate and honest. No eight-year-old really gets all of that, but I could feel some beauty and truth in the pain."

In 2010, West was nominated for an ACM award for Vocal Event of the Year with her song Blue Sky featuring Keith Urban. West was signed to Capitol Nashville in 2003, and her singles include Rocks in Your Shoes and Blue Sky. She is independently releasing a new record out soon for download in the fall.

VIDEO: "Bulletproof" - Emily West

Why is Emily West not getting the recognition she deserves with her incredible SPOT ON vocal ability. This version, I think, is better than Steel Magnolia's version of "Bulletproof". Who keeps dropping the ball with Emily's promotions and marketing?

UPDATE: Emily West is Special Guest Star at JT Hodges' Holiday Howler Event

Show Dog- Universal Music’s JT Hodges will host his first Holiday Howler charity event, benefitting the Brown Dog Foundation. "Animals, like people, will get sick or need medical attention at some point in time and as a dog owner, I know those bills can be pricy,” said JT Hodges. "During difficult financial times, the Brown Dog Organization helps provide owners with the means to care for their sick or injured dog. I hope people will join us for a good time and help raise money for a great cause."

The Holiday Howler takes place Monday, December 5, 6pm at the Gibson Showroom (located at 1121 Church Street) and will feature musical performances from Hodges, EMI Nashville recording artist, Eric Paslay and special guest, Emily West. Tickets can be purchased at www.browndogfoundation.org or a $5 donation may be given at the door. In addition to live performances, the event will also offer door prizes, a silent auction, free drinks and “doggie bags” for your furry friends.

Holiday Howler is sponsored by Nashville Event and Lighting, Pet Tao, Irish Dog Bloody Mary Mix and Jean Paul Pet.

The Brown Dog Foundation’s mission is to offer pet owners in temporary financial crisis an alternative to euthanasia when their pet faces a treatable but life-threatening condition or illness in order to restore quality of life for pet and owner. And The Award for Best Overlooked Female Country Voice Goes to the Amazing Emily West

One of the best female voices in country music that you may not have ever heard. Unfortunately, something happened with her record deal so her cd was never released (which upsets the heck out of me, but that's beside the point). Seriously, how does Emily West not have a MAJOR record deal with that voice, look and attitude? Really? Just goes to show that labels don't necessarily grab the best talent, HUGE oversight on this one.
