Opry to Host 80th Birthday Bash for "The Possum". Guest List Includes Country Newcomers and Legends ...


The Grand Ole Opry is the host for"The Possum", George Jones', 80th birthday party during Sept. 13's Tuesday Night Opry. Guest performers for the bash who will be gracing the historic stage include newcomers Blackberry Smoke and Eric Lee Beddingfield, as well as legends such as Joe Diffie, Alan JacksonJamey Johnson, Montgomery Gentry, the Oak Ridge Boys and Pam Tillis. The Opry is also hosting a Facebook Birthday Bash Dessert Contest, and Jones will judge the top three recipes during the show. The winner will win a trip to the Opry's Birthday Bash in October and a chance to have their dessert featured on the Opry Backstage Grill menu.

"The Gospel According to Jones" Features George Jones


(Nashville, Tennessee...) - The career of rising country artist Eric Lee Beddingfield takes a big leap forward this week, as his debut music video, "The Gospel According to Jones," begins airing on The Country Network (TCN) today and GAC and CMT Pure tomorrow. The clip, which can be viewed here, features his musical hero George Jones, who also lends his vocals on single track.

"It was a dream come true of mine for George to sing on the song, but to have him appear in the video is beyond anything I could have imagined," said Eric, who wrote or co-wrote every song on his This Life Aint For Everybodycd. "All artists want the respect of their peers, and to have a legendary artist like George Jones give his personal endorsement is like the Holy Grail to a country artist."

The clip was produced and directed by Ryan Lassan and Daniel Slezinger for Autumn Addict Productions. Locations included the popular 12th & Porter venue in Nashville, Kings Chapel in Arrington, Tennessee and Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Springfield, Tennessee. Country Weekly magazine recently profiled the making of the music video in a feature in the 8/8/11 issue.
