MONTGOMERY GENTRY RELEASE NEW ALBUM, FOLKS LIKE US, TOMORROW

Nashville, TN - June 8, 2015 – Montgomery Gentry, one of country music’s most storied duos, are hours away from the release of their new album, Folks Like Us. Produced by Michael Knox (Jason Aldean, Thomas Rhett), this is the pair’s first record in over three years and first with Blaster Records. The video for the album’s new single and title track is currently airing on CMT, CMT Pure Country and Great American Country.

“I know every artist thinks their latest album is the best thing they’ve ever done, but Eddie and I really feel that this might be our best work,” offers Gentry.  "It immediately feels like a Montgomery Gentry record, but I don’t think we’ve ever had this many truly incredible songs to work with.  We know each other so well at this point and Michael Knox just understands us.   Every song is something we can relate to on some level, big or small.  Maybe that’s what makes this record so strong to us.”

Eddie and Troy are getting geared up for a busy street week with multiple autograph sessions, concert performances and exclusive premieres for faithful fans.

Montgomery Gentry’s newest single “Folks Like Us” is a downhome small town love song.  It fits in well with their previous material harkening back to 2002’s “My Town” or 2004’s “Something To Be Proud Of” with a little bit of “One In Every Crowd” circa 2008.  They speak of loving what they’re surrounded by and wanting more of it.  “This ol’ world ain’t got enough folks like us.”  God-fearing folks out on the edges of the county and dotted all over America are who they’re referencing here.  The fans of Montgomery Gentry that have loved their past blue-collar anthems will be sure to love this one as well.  In diving back into country music Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry have wasted no time in finding what has always worked for them and evolving from that point.  This new single has hints of many of their popular hits but manages to be a story of its own and display its own signature flavor.  This is the 2nd single they’ve released in the past year after their near-half-decade of radio silence.  If you’ve liked what they’ve done up until this point, you will definitely being turning “Folks Like Us” up on the radio.

Montgomery Gentry is also hosting “Country on the Beach” this year.  Proceeds benefit the estimable TJ Martell Foundation.  A worthy cause if there ever was one, the TJ Martell Foundation helps fund cancer research or as they phrase it on their website - “The T.J. Martell Foundation is the music industry's largest foundation that funds innovative medical research focused on finding cures for leukemia, cancer and AIDS.  The Foundation sources and supports early-stage research projects aimed at developing more effective clinical treatments for patients which otherwise might not be funded.”
