SINGLE REVIEW: "LOVESTRUCK" - GEORGE DUCAS

SINGLE: "Lovestruck"
ARTIST: George Ducas
REVIEWER: Alyse Smith
Follow Alyse on Twitter at @ASmith1300

George Ducas’ newest single “LoveStruck” is a song about a guy who’s fallen for a girl and he’s “lovestruck.”  The 2nd single off of Ducas’ 4340 album, it proves to be slightly reminiscent of Billy Currington’s “Don’t It.”  If you haven’t heard him before this album, you’ve definitely heard what he’s written.  His songs are famous across decades of country music, writing with Radney Foster for “Just Call Me Lonesome” launching his songwriting career all over Music Row.  The duo continued to write together and found their way onto Dixie Chicks album “Wide Open Spaces.”  Ducas himself found himself in such laudable company as George Jones and Garth Brooks with goofy favorite “Beer Run (B Double E Double Are You In?)” writing it with Keith Anderson, Amanda Williams, Kent Blazy and Kim Williams and ended up at Gary Allan’s “Send Back My Heart” before heading back to Texas country with Eli Young Band, Randy Rogers Band and a myriad of others.  His talent as both a singer and songwriter shines through in this newest offering of his.  A catchy song that with a little bit of beachy sound with ear worm lines such as “her kiss, her touch, wham-bam like a 1, 2 punch,” this song will surely find its way to the airwaves before long!

Editor's Note: Radio needs George Ducas and more artists like him. #JustSayin

YOUTUBE FAVORITE TYLER BARHAM RELEASES LATEST SINGLE, "JUST TWO KIDS"

PRESS RELEASE

NASHVILLE, TN (March 31, 2015) - YouTube favorite, Tyler Barham, has released his newest single, "Just Two Kids." The song is available to radio programmers on CDX Vol. 614, and digitally via CDX InstaTracks and Play MPE. It is also available for purchase at iTunes and other digital retailers.

"Just Two Kids" by Billboard's "One To Watch" Barham, is the follow-up to his recent chart success with "More Than A Cotton Dress" and is the top-selling track from Barham's Don't Cage This Heart EP, which debuted at #19 on Billboard's Heatseeker Album Chart for all genres.

Barham says, "I'm so thankful that George Ducas and Arlis Albritton let me record 'Just Two Kids.' When I first heard it I fell in love with the story and pictures the song painted and I knew I wanted to record it. I grew up in the small town of Florence, MT and I have friends who are still living the story of this song. They started out together as kids and had no idea that a simple kiss would lead to forever."

2015 is shaping up to be the best year yet for Barham. His extremely active social following has grown to 50,000 online fans from his combined social media sites and nearly 9 million YouTube views. His cover songs have been shared on social media by the original artists themselves, including Blake Shelton, Lady A, and Brett Eldredge. Darius Rucker and Keith Urban have also featured Barham's covers on the pre-concert jumbotron video screens on their national tours.

All of this attention earned Barham a feature article in a recent edition of the CMA Close Up magazine, alongside The Band Perry and Joe Nichols, in a story focused on tips from artists who are maintaining successful social media platforms. My Country Nation (an OTT channel specifically for country music fans launched by Brad Paisley, Taillight, ARC Entertainment and WME) recently asked Barham and Chris Young to be correspondents at the "Swimville" event held in downtown Nashville for the February launch of the 2015 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue release. Here is a link featuring Barham at the event: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxcIbGv-W_o&feature=youtu.be. My Country Nation was so pleased with the young talent that they asked him back and Barham can now be seen conducting interviews as a "musical man on the street" for the network.

PRESS RELEASE

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (January 7, 2015)--Singer/songwriter and hit-country recording artist, George Ducas, was hand-selected by the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ to write, record and produce the exclusive RODEOHOUSTON® theme song. Ducas penned “Party With Your Boots On” to fit the bill.

“The idea was to create a country rock sound and a music track that defined RODEOHOUSTON,” said James Davidson, managing director of audio visual presentations and broadcasts for the Show. “We wanted a tune that would become familiar quickly, generate excitement and define who we are as an organization, and George nailed it.”

The theme song, “Party With Your Boots On” (co-written with Danny Myrick/recorded and produced by Ducas), will be incorporated into a pre-produced video created to help kick off each rodeo performance inside NRG Stadium and broadcast on FOX Sports Southwest during its regular rodeo broadcast schedule. Ducas will also appear in the opening piece that will feature full 4K video, HD motion graphics and rodeo highlights. The track will be highlighted as the musical bed under all radio and television broadcast advertisements promoting the Show’s entertainers and events. The Show will produce the corresponding full-length “Party With Your Boots On” music video; the video will appear on a number of Houston community websites as well as the Show’s website and social media outlets.

Ducas will perform at the Show’s World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest held at NRG Park on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, from 5 to 11 p.m. He will proudly debut “Party With Your Boots On” for the Show fans. The three-day World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest traditionally hosts record-breaking crowds.

“This is a two-fold celebration for me. I am honored to have been selected to write, record, and perform the [Show’s] 2015 official theme song, and to have been asked to perform and be a part of the World’s Championship Bar-B-Que [contest],” stated Ducas. “Being a Texan, I couldn’t be more proud than to be a part of one of the biggest events in the state and notable worldwide!”

Ducas released his latest full-length album, 4340 (from Loud Ranch) in October 2013. As a sought-after tunesmith, he is trademarked as the “go-to-guy” by many recording artists. The George Ducas signature appears in multiple top country hits such as “Real Fine Place To Start” (Sara Evans), “Won’t Be Lonely Long” (Josh Thompson) and “Always The Love Songs” (Eli Young Band). He is credited with cuts recorded by some of country’s greats, including George Jones, Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, The Dixie Chicks and The Randy Rogers Band.

SINGLE REVIEW: "ALL KINDS OF CRAZY" - GEORGE DUCAS

Purchase "All Kinds of Crazy" on iTunes
Single to impact country radio on July 21, 2014 so start requesting it now on your local station!

George Ducas’ single “All Kinds Of Crazy” is nothing short of wonderful. It’s more guitar-focused than I am used to, but I’m okay with that. It’s a “Nothing’s right without you here” kind of song, about a girl that he wants back. It’s driving him “All kinds of crazy” not having her there. It's an upbeat song, definitely not a slow sit here and mourn what I’ve lost song. I’d say it’s more of a call to action , a “need you back and need you back now" song. Take a minute, let his voice just wash over you. It’s simply striking. George’s intensity in this song is one of the things I love about country music. You can tell he’s either lived this story or is relating to it strongly. The storytelling aspect of music in general and country music in particular has always amazed me, and this time is no different. George’s ability to make you feel that you’re actually experiencing this story and this intensity is nothing short of amazing.

This is by no means George’s first single, he’s been a fairly prolific artist since the 90’s with hits like "Lipstick Promises" and "Everytime She Passes By" as well as multiple hits he's written for artists like Sara Evans, Garth Brooks, Eli Young Band and many other top artists, but’s the first time I’ve heard him and honestly, I’m not sure how I slept on this one, but I’m so glad to hear him now! George is Texas country and you can definitely hear it in his music. Just like the King of Country music of the same first name and home state, I hope this George has a long and storied career as an artist as well as a songwriter.

GEORGE DUCAS SET TO LAUNCH “ALL KINDS OF CRAZY”

Country Radio Release From 4340 Set To Impact Mid-July

PRESS RELEASE

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 24, 2014)—One of country music’s finest hit-makers and celebrated recording artists George Ducas is set to release his newest single “All Kinds Of Crazy”** from his independent album entitled 4340 (Loud Ranch Records) to a worldwide audience in July. [The track shipped to radio Monday, June 23, 2014 (via PlayMPE-6/23/14) and will impact radio as official July 21, 2014.]

Branded by Ducas’ contemporary edge and quintessential delivery, “All Kinds Of Crazy” is laced in pulsating guitar riffs with resonating cymbals echoing the internal anguish and torment of an obsessed memory. The “break-up” tune reveals a missed presence and yearning for the past to fast forward into the present and bring love back to life. Recorded alongside decorated producer Matt McClure (Lee Brice/HARD 2 LOVE), the self-penned original accelerates today’s musical content to capture authentic emotion in masterful composition and vocal performance.

“It all started with a guitar riff that I couldn’t get out of my head after playing the House Of Blues in Houston one night,” recounts George Ducas. “I recorded the guitar part on my cell phone in the hotel room that night and the next morning, I wrote the tune in less than three hours.”

The July 2014 national radio release enjoyed a “big welcome back” from country radio and fans alike; the 2013 CD (4340) is Ducas’ first full-length album since his critically acclaimed Capitol Records releases. Without exception, 4340 showcases Ducas’ talents to illuminate storylines with defining imagery that brings lyrics to life and is stocked with radio worthy tracks; “All Kinds Of Crazy” is poised to stack up among contemporary country recordings in the chart-topper ranks. [Jerry Duncan Promotions and Marco Promotions will team to head-up the radio promotions campaign.]

Since making his entry in the country music genre, George Ducas enjoyed success as a Nashville major label recording artist with a string of hits including “Teardrops,” “Hello, Cruel World” and his Top 10 single "Lipstick Promises.” With a noticeable personal “presence missed” on mainstream radio in recent years, it is only the sound of his voice that was silent in the interim. Holding his position as a relevant member of the songwriting community and a mainstay in the recording industry, Ducas’ musical compositions have been recognized by his peers and heard loud and clear over the airwaves.

In line with his own recording credits, Ducas’ name can be found behind the pen of some of country music's biggest hits including: Sara Evan's No. 1 "Real Fine Place To Start," Josh Thompson's "Won't Be Lonely Long," The Eli Young Band's "Always The Love Songs" as well as cuts recorded by George Jones, The Dixie Chicks, Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood and the Randy Rogers Band, only to name a few.

CD Review: "4340" - GEORGE DUCAS

CD: "4340"
Artist: George Ducas
Label: Loud Ranch
Release Date: 10/29/13

One of country's most prolific songwriters and performers (and a longtime personal favorite), George Ducas, is set to release his long-awaited, full length cd "4340" on October 29, 2013 and it can't come soon enough for fans. If you're not familiar with George, he's been a staple in country music for years, not only with his writing with hits like "Real Fine Place to Start" (Sara Evans), "Won't Be Lonely Long" (Josh Thompson) and cuts by other artists like George Jones and Garth Brooks, but with his own hits like "Lipstick Promises" and "Every Time She Passes By". When it comes to simplistic tradition, George Ducas is exactly that.

George is known for his unique edge and enduring style and he doesn't fail to deliver in this new project. This cd not only features his own writing, but songs co-written by some of the best in the business Keifer Thompson (Thompson Square), Jim Beavers ("Red Solo Cup" - Toby Keith), Radney Foster ("Just Call Me Lonesome" - Radney Foster), Jon Henderson ("Family Man" - Craig Campbell)  and Jason Matthews ("Must Be Doing Something Right" - Billy Currington). There is nothing lacking on this cd, it's teaming with style, grace, tradition, thump and twang. There is something for everyone here. This is a brilliant cd, for lack of a better term.

His lead in single, the upbeat and assertive "CowTown" (co-written with Jim Beavers) recently went out to country radio after being introduced to his local fans in his home state of Texas and is keeping crowds on their toes at the live shows. Having seen George perform this single live, it will definitely get you up and moving. The single has garnered great reviews so far. There is a great track listing on this cd, "Give Me Back My Honky Tonk" which I think speaks for those of us whose musical interests are rooted in traditional country, "I Need to Love You", "White Lines and Road Signs", "This One's Gonna Hurt" and other great tunes. A stand out on the cd is "Amnesia", which was co-written by Jason Matthews. I hope to see this one released to country radio. It's an outstanding song, one that we can all relate to, in that when it comes to relationships, and life in general, sometimes we all just need a little "Amnesia" to get us through. You won't need amnesia to get you through this cd, this is one you'll remember just fine.

You can order the cd on George's website at www.georgeducas.com and at various online retailers. Don't forget to leave a review if you purchase it on Amazon or other online outlets.

GEORGE DUCAS PENS NEW ALBUM DUE FOR RELEASE EARLY FALL

Hitmaker's Independent Release An Undeniable Musical Work Of Art For The Listening Ear!
Out In Early Fall

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 31, 2013) — George Ducas celebrates the release of 4340 (from Loud Ranch), his first full-length release since his critically acclaimed Capitol Records releases. The new project is signatured as another George Ducas Original trademarked by his contemporary edge and timeless content. The 12-song CD is scheduled for an October 29, 2013 release.

Without exception, 4340 showcases Ducas’ talents to illuminate storylines with defining imagery that brings lyrics to life. With co-writes alongside Keifer Thompson (Thompson Square), Jim Beavers (“Red Solo Cup”/Toby Keith, “5150”/Dierks Bentley), Radney Foster, Jon Henderson and Jason Matthews, the album is stocked with radio worthy tracks and lined with carefully painted musical canvasses featuring song titles such as “CowTown” (at country radio now), “Ain’t That Crazy,” “Love Struck,” “Amnesia,” “Give Me Back My Honky Tonk,” “White Lines And Road Signs” and “I Need To Love You.”

Since making his entry in the country music genre as a deep-rooted traditionalist and defined vocalist who brought a contemporary edge to the format, George enjoyed success as a Nashville major label recording artist (Capitol Nashville) with a string of hits including his Top 10 single "Lipstick Promises.”

With a noticeable personal “presence missed” on mainstream radio in recent years, it is only the sound of his voice that was silent in the interim. Holding his position as a relevant member of the songwriting community and a mainstay in the recording industry, Ducas’ musical compositions have been recognized by his peers and heard loud and clear over the airwaves. His reputation as masterful tunesmith has made him a sought-after songcrafter in a league of his own; Ducas is in deed the essence of "musicianship."

"I’m really just a ‘regular Joe;’ I enjoy writing a good song, a hot cup of coffee, a cold beer and rolling down highway miles with the band to bring the music to the folks who want to hear it, night after night," Ducas introduces. “I’ve had good fortune to become the voice for other artists and in the meantime, I am blessed to have become a dad--twice."

George released the debut single "CowTown" (written by Ducas and Jim Beavers) introducing it first to the folks in his home state; the track received overwhelming welcome in the Lone Star state (climbing into the Top 10 on the Texas Music Charts). The sure-fire hit is currently enjoying "want more" applause from country radio and its listeners new and old. [Spin Doctors Promotion-Nashville is spearheading the radio promotion effort.]

“I’m not a ‘newbie’ in the industry by any means, but I’m okay with being recognized as a new artist by the industry and fans; we all need to reinvent ourselves to stay current. I want this project to stand on its own two feet, it's not a departure of where I've been, or who I am, but an example of how I’ve grown," Ducas expands. "A ‘snapshot’ from a musical perspective, 4340 is bits and pieces of my personal relationships, growth and downfalls and because we all experience similar feelings, I think my music relates to many. That's what a good song does, it just expresses feelings about experiences and the story behind them. This time, I'm using my voice to tell it."

Ducas is set to embark on the third-leg of his radio promotion tour—heading to the West Coast. The CD will be distributed by Select-O-Hits and available via all major Internet retail outlets including Amazon, iTunes and Rhapsody.
