HANK WILLIAMS JR 4-CD BOX SET AVAILABLE AT WALMART

Since he made his Billboard chart debut in 1964, Hank Williams, Jr. has amassed one of the most prolific catalogs in the history of the music business. On October 21st, Curb Records will celebrate that legacy with the release of Hank Williams, Jr: A Country Boy Can Survive, a four-disc box set that stands as one of the most comprehensive Williams sets ever released.

The four disc box set is available now at Walmart: http://flyt.it/HankJr

Focusing on his superstar era that kicked off with 1979’s “Family Tradition,” twenty-nine of his thirty Billboard Top-40 Country hits from 1979-1990 are featured on the collection, which also includes nine of his ten number one hits (including his first 1970’s “All For The Love Of Sunshine,” with The Mike Curb Congregation.) The set also contains fan-favorite album cuts, such as ‘”Outlaw Women,” “Dinosaur,” “The Blues Man” and concert favorite “My Name Is Bocephus,” which originally appeared on his million-selling 1986 set Montana Café. The fourth disc of A Country Boy Can Survive focuses on Williams’ legendary live show, including performances of such classics as “I’m For Love” and “If Heaven Ain’t A Lot Like Dixie,” as well as the iconic title cut – which will celebrate its’ thirty-fifth anniversary in 2017.

Williams’ run with Curb remains one of the most successful recording affiliations in Country Music history. Beginning with 1977’s One Night Stands, the singer charted thirty-seven albums with the label, selling well over seventy million albums worldwide, with fifteen of his albums being certified Gold and eight Platinum. In 1982, the singer earned the distinction of becoming the only artist to simultaneously have nine albums on the Billboard Country Albums chart at one time. He was also one of the most-awarded artists of his time, winning a trio of Entertainer of the Year trophies from the ACM, as well as back-to-back honors from the CMA in 1987 and 1988. His collaboration with his late father, “There’s A Tear In My Beer,” (included on the set) won a Grammy, as well as several other honors in 1989 and 1990.

The release comes as “Bocephus” continues to experience a career resurgence. His latest Nash Icon album, It’s About Time, opened up on the Billboard Country Albums chart at No. 2 – his highest peak on that chart 1990’s Lone Wolf. The album features “Are You Ready For The Country,” a cover of the Neil Young classic with Eric Church that brought Williams his highest singles chart position since 2009. He has also played to sold-out show after another this year – both by himself, as well as with critically-acclaimed singer-songwriter Chris Stapleton.

HANK WILLIAMS JR. SONG "ANGELS ARE HARD TO FIND" FEATURED IN GEORGE CLOONEY & SANDRA BULLOCK MOVIE 'GRAVITY'

Will Hank Williams Jr. be headed to the stage of the Academy Awards?? Having won three Emmy Awards for his composition of the ever-popular theme song to Monday Night Football for 21 years, Williams is garnering rave reviews for his musical contribution “Angels Are Hard To Find,” to the current Warner Bros. Picture Gravity.

"There are a couple of parts in the movie where the grizzled man astronaut, played by the devastatingly charming George Clooney, is floating around listening to music in his suit. He's listening to Hank Williams Jr.'s "Angels Are Hard To Find" which ostensibly is about a woman but can be applied to basically anything else. It was just a tiny part of a gigantic movie, but it was entirely moving. It was so peaceful and terrifying. I loved it." – Shea Serrano, LA Weekly

“This song was on both my 1974 album Living Proof and the 1991 album Pure Hank.  It just proves good songs resurface at the appropriate time,” says Hank Williams Jr.  “I like both Sandra Bullock and George Clooney in their roles.  Then hearing my song in the movie, for me, already made it a winner.”

Angels Are Hard To Find,” is included twice within the movie where Dr. Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock) is a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (George Clooney). But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone - tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into… More the blackness. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth...and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left. But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. “Merle is one-of-a-kind,” says Hank Williams Jr. “His music resonates with fans just like mine does. Making this song was simple, it maybe took two takes. WHERE MUSIC MEETS THE OUTDOORS, THERE’S A CAMO-GUITAR!

Hank Williams Jr. & Andy Ross Combine Forces for Your Chance to Win!!

Nashville, TN (January 9, 2013) – If country music and the great outdoors were to meet, the crossroad would probably result in a camouflage guitar. Such was the thinking of famed hunter and entrepreneur, Andy Ross, star of the Sportsman Channel’s TV show “Maximum Archery.” The custom Krossroad guitar emblazoned in the ever-popular Realtree™ camouflage is now a reality…and thanks to Country Music superstar Hank Williams Jr., Krossroad Guitars™ and Andy Ross, fans will have the opportunity to win one autographed by Hank through a contest on Facebook!!

To enter, between now and January 31, simply LIKE all three Facebook pages at the hyperlinks provided below:

1. Andy Ross Official
2. Krossroad Guitars
3. Hank Williams Jr.

Winners will be selected at random and notified via Facebook message at the close of the contest.

His discography chronicles a bold profile of growth from adored offspring of a legendary father, to titan of the modern country rock movement in his own right. For two decades, America came to its collective feet each fall Monday night when this larger than life superman of a musician looked into the camera and unleashed the national anthem for viewers of Monday Night Football – ‘Are You Ready for Some Football?’ Those simple words have won Williams an entirely new generation of fans and given him the distinction of being the first country performer to ever win an Emmy.

The entertainer has received 16 songwriting honors from Broadcast Music, Inc., had 10 number one singles, 13 number one albums, 20 gold and five platinum albums and a double-platinum album (Greatest Hits, Vol. I). In1987, Hank won the first of five straight Entertainer of the Year awards voted to him by his peers and won his first ever Grammy. Hank has also been inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, is a BMI Icon award winner and one of the best-selling artists in country music history. His current album, Old School New Rules is in stores now and provided the highest charting debut of his career.

With more than 70 albums to his credit, sales of 55 million records, countless awards including 5-time Entertainer of the Year awards (ACM & CMA), BMI Icon Award, a Grammy, and most recently in 2009 the Academy of Country Music “Pioneer Award,” Hank Williams Jr. is a living legend.

Ross, best known for producing some of the world’s best hunting bows and for his television shows “Maximum Archery” is anything but a newcomer to the world of producing quality musical equipment. In the 1960’s, his father, Bud Ross, founded Kustom Electronics and at one time, was the largest music equipment manufacturer in the world, producing Kustom Amplifiers, easily identified by a tuck-and-roll appearance.

As a result, Andy grew up surrounded by legendary artists and developed a personal love for music that parallels his love for hunting.

"It gives me great pleasure to draw on more than 50 years of music equipment manufacturing experience and introduce Krossroad Guitars” says Andy.

(July 19, 2012) -- Hank Williams, Jr. has the top selling independent album in the country with his new CD, Old School, New Rules.  The new CD debuts at #4 on Billboard’s Country Albums chart and #12 on Billboard’s Top U.S. Albums chart.  This gives the country music legend the highest peak position of his career on the overall chart, surpassing his previous high of #16 achieved by 1964’s “Your Cheatin’ Heart” and the 2006 compilation, “That’s How They Do It In Dixie: The Essential Collection.”
“Old School, New Rules” is the first album on Hank Williams, Jr.’s new label imprint, Bocephus Records, licensed to Blaster Records with distribution by Warner Music Nashville.
“Bocephus delivered a musically brilliant album,” says Tom Porter, CEO of Blaster Entertainment, “Our team worked really hard to build awareness and the audience responded. All the pieces came together for us and we couldn’t be more pleased to celebrate this with Hank.”
“I’ve got some of the best, most loyal fans out there,” say Hank Williams, Jr. “This album was for them; it was their voices that encouraged the writing process for me.”
