#TOURINGNEWS - JON PARDI IS HITTING THE ROAD WITH LAINEY WILSON AND HAILEY WHITTERS FOR THE "AIN'T ALWAYS THE COWBOY" TOUR

CMA and ACM Award-winning singer/songwriter/producer Jon Pardi announced today his “Ain’t Always The Cowboy” tour named after his critically acclaimed song of the same name. The tour, presented by CASE Construction Equipment, is set to kick off in Irving, TX on July 14th and run through October 1 with a headlining show at Nashville’s Ascend Amphitheater. Tickets will be available to purchase HERE beginning March 4 at 10am local venue time.

“I’m really excited to take two great friends and great artists out as openers for the ‘Ain’t Always The Cowboy’ tour,” said Pardi. Additionally he shared with American Songwriter, “You get your buddies and put on a good show anywhere people will have you. Indeed, that’s what most heartens.”

Pardi broke the news in his American Songwriter February Issue Cover Story, where he opened up about his new single, “Last Night Lonely” and his upcoming tour with two of Nashville’s most respected women in country music - Lainey Wilson and Hailey Whitters. Whitters will not be on the last three shows of the tour. Pardi also discussed his new single-the first off of an upcoming project-“Last Night Lonely” in the Digital Cover story, telling American Songwriter “What I love most about music is the feelings. They make you dance, cry, have a drink. Fall in love or get the hell out of love. That’s why I love music and why it will always be a part of my life, your life—that’s why we’re here.”

“CASE Construction Equipment has been the ultimate sponsor and partner. As a kid who grew up in construction and agriculture it’s been a dream come true to work with them,” said Pardi. “I’m really excited about continuing this great partnership and having them on board for the ‘Ain’t Always The Cowboy’ tour.”

Pardi’s tour announcement comes after last week’s first look at his highly anticipated upcoming studio release with “Last Night Lonely.” The fiddle and steel-drenched track further etches Pardi’s “long-lasting mark on the genre” (Music Row), following his critically acclaimed third album, Heartache Medication. Nominated for Album of the Year by both the CMA and ACM, Heartache Medication was named one of Rolling Stone’s Best Country Albums of 2019 while standing as the only country album on the Los Angeles Times “Best Albums of the Year” list.

With an impressive ability to carve his own path proving “the kind of country music multiple generations came to know, and love can still work on a mass scale” (Variety), Pardi’s instantly identifiable twang, fiddle, and steel guitars “apply new ideas to country’s old sounds” (Los Angeles Times). Lauded as a “hero in the making” (Variety), he continues to “bring authenticity back into Country music” (People).

Featuring three new bonus tracks- “Bar Downtown,” “Beer Light” and “Ain’t Always The Cowboy (Western Version),” the expanded album of his critically-acclaimed album Heartache Medication celebrates the one year anniversary of the original album release and his first, back-to-back headlining shows at the famed Ryman Auditorium (10/1-2/2019). The ACM/CMA winning artist recently became the first country artist to have two #1 singles on Country Radio in 2020. Heartache Medication Deluxe Edition follows the release of “Ain’t Always The Cowboy” (Western Version) and Pardi’s RANCHO FIESTA SESSIONS- an eight-song album that features a combination of songs Pardi is both inspired by, and loves to perform-and his ACM/CMA nominated album, HEARTACHE MEDICATION. Pardi is currently nominated for CMT Awards’ Collaborative Video of the Year category for his collaboration on the #1 hit single “Beer Can’t Fix” with Thomas Rhett. Photo Credit: Jim Wright

Platinum-selling singer/songwriter/producer Jon Pardi earns his fourth #1 at Country radio today, and surpasses 138 million on-demand streams with Gold-certified hit,“Heartache Medication.” Topping both the Billboard and Country Aircheck/Mediabase Airplay charts, “Heartache Medication” is the title-track off Pardi’s highly-praised album Heartache Medication, which debuted among the top albums on Billboard’s Country Albums chart and earned overwhelming critical-acclaim by NPR, Associated Press, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Billboard, ET, EXTRA, Variety, People and Rolling Stone. “Heartache Medication” marks the ACM/CMA winner’s fourth #1 single joining previous chart-topping hits “Dirt On My Boots,” “Head Over Boots,” “Heartache On The Dance Floor” and Top 5 “Night Shift.”

In addition to being selected by The New York Times as one of the most anticipated albums of the season and by Rolling Stone’s “Best Albums of the Year” list, Heartache Medication also earned a coveted slot on the Los Angeles Times “Best Albums of the Year” (#4) list, as the only country artist/album represented. Additionally, Pardi was selected by Nashville Lifestyles as the January cover star of their annual Music Issue, and was named to the Nashville Scene’s year-end Critic’s Poll.

Lauded as an artist with an impressive ability to carve out his own path, Pardi has been hailed for his potential to leave “a long-lasting mark on the genre” (Music Row), as well as his talent creating “the kind of country music multiple generations came to know and love can still work on a mass scale” (Variety). Filled with fiddle, twang and steel guitar, Pardi continues to “apply new ideas to country’s old sounds” (Los Angeles Times) and “bring authenticity back into Country music” (People).

A three-time co-producer, Pardi’s multi-platinum, chart-topping hits have been noted for “attracting youthful crowds” (NPR), while Heartache Medication is “an emboldened work, a distilling of his sound into a more potent form — one that draws both vitality and assurance from his anything-but-sterile relationship to his tradition’s modern era” (NPR).

Upcoming stops include; Nashville Lifestyles Music in the City event in Nashville, TN (2/5), which benefits Make A Wish Foundation, the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo in San Antonio, TX (2/9) and the Houston Rodeo in Houston, TX (3/14), where Pardi remains one of the top-selling acts along with Chris Stapleton and Willie Nelson.

 – Los Angeles Times

“Pardi’s music is strong stuff”
- Associated Press

“Jon Pardi Brings Authenticity Back into Country Music with Latest Album”
- People

“Jon Pardi cut a path through modern country’s embrace of pop, hip-hop and EDM…”

“Instead of borrowing a moniker from one of his heroes, he’s paving his way with his own brand of two-stepping, steel-guitar-laden traditional country music.”
- The Tennessean

“‘Heartache Medication’ covers a multitude of styles, but all of them fall somewhere under a neo-traditionalist umbrella. Which makes him a bit of a hard sell, in some regards, in 2019 -
but also, a hero in the making.”
 -Variety
“Pardi’s evolved approach to country’s heritage sets him apart at a moment when Nashville seems to want to divide itself into the trailblazers and the preservationists.”

“The influence of legends like Alan Jackson and George Strait permeate Heartache Medication, filled with clever lyrical twists and dancehall ready romps…”

Fans will be able to tune in to the live debut of tracks taken from REBOOT when the duo performs in Las Vegas with Luke Combs on Academy of Country Music Awards for a high-energy version of “Brand New Man” on Sunday (4/7) at 7pm CT on CBS. They will then head to New York City with Midland for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon  for a special performance of “Boot Scootin’ Boogie” on Tuesday (4/9) at 11:35pm CT on NBC.  The duo will also continue their roles as guest advisors to Blake Shelton on The Voice this week, offering their expertise to contestants on April 8, 9 on NBC at 8p ET/PT.

Leading up to the release of REBOOT, Brooks & Dunn, who were just announced as the next inductees into the Country Music Hall of Fame, have garnered praise for the project’s appreciation for today's country music as well as the duo’s legacy of an “incredible run of hits” (Rolling Stone).  Associated Press highlighted the collection declaring it "shows the timelessness of the duo’s catalog of more than 20 No. 1 country hits, which has continued to influence a new generation of country singers,” as CMT remarks “REBOOT remembers and respects the music we grew up with.”

With 20 No. One hits stretching back to 1991, two Grammy awards, dozens of ACM and CMA honors and a discography counting more album sales than any country duo in history – regardless of genre – Brooks & Dunn’s influence on today’s country has never been in question. Hits like “Boot Scootin’ Boogie,” “My Maria,” “Only in America,” and “Believe” have propelled the duo to more than 30 million albums sold, with the New York Times  heralding “together they helped drive the power-country era of the early-to-mid 1990s and continued to benefit from the sea change in the genre they helped initiate right through their most recent albums.” Their original “Merle Haggard meets The Rolling Stones” vibe made them progressive stars in their own right. In 2014, the duo announced their reunion along with long-time friend, Reba McEntire, for a residency called “Together in Vegas” at The Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, which received rave reviews and continues to be extended including more shows throughout this year.

Three-Part Documentary, “Intro to the Pardi,” Available Exclusively on VEVO

While country music traditionalist Jon Pardi is working on his sophomore studio album, he is responding to fans’ demand for more music with his May 19 digital EP release, The B Sides, 2011-2014.

The B Sides features six previously unreleased tracks recorded for consideration for Pardi’s debut album, Write You A Song.  Although they did not make the final track listing for Write You A Song, hence The B Sides title, Pardi continues to play many of these songs in his live show. Fans have learned the lyrics over time and sing along, yet have not been able to personally own the tracks until now.

As he did with ten of the titles on his “Best of 2014”-named Write You A Song, Pardi co-produced and co-wrote all of the songs on The B Sides.

The B Sides, 2011-2014 Track Listing:

1. Fightin’ The Fool (Jon Pardi, Bart Butler, Davy Ulbrich)
2. Over My Head (Jon Pardi, Trent Summar, Gary Nicholson)
3. Drinkin’ With Me (Jon Pardi, Britton Cameron, Doug Kahan)
4. Back on the Backroads (Jon Pardi, Davy Ulbrich, Rich McCready)

6. Borrowed Time (Jon Pardi, Keith Follese, Adrienne Follese)

Pardi recently partnered with VEVO for “Intro to the Pardi,” an exclusive three-part documentary following his journey from rural northern California to Nashville. The series also chronicles his debut album release on Capitol Records, as well as touring with some of today’s country legends. View Part I HERE.

CMA CLOSEUP: NEW ARTIST SPOTLIGHT - JON PARDI

By Bob Doerschuk

© 2014 CMA Close Up® News Service / Country Music Association®, Inc.

Saloon pianos clink, guitars crunch and fiddles, well, they fiddle throughout Write You a Song, Jon Pardi’s debut album on Capitol Records Nashville. And it fits together into a package that practically dares you not to get up and dance.

A lot of Pardi’s energy stems from days on the road and long nights on stages throughout his home state of California. He was already absorbing the spirit of real-world Country when he performed “Friends in Low Places” at age 7 for his father’s 30th birthday party. His first songs came at 12, his first band debuted two years later. The move to Nashville followed two restless years at Butte Junior College.

Apparently his experiences left Pardi unscarred. While there are no tears-in-my-beer blues here, that’s not to say he avoids introspective material. But even on the down-tempo “Love Hangs Around” (written by Pardi, Treat Summar and Odie Blackmon), you sense that it’s just a matter of time before the lyric’s two long-distance lovers enjoy a happy reunion.

Similarly, the rockin’ numbers have dimension. You’ll hear hardly a mention of trucks or cut-off jeans; instead, actual stories inhabit his down-home grooves. The title cut (Pardi, Bart Butler and Davy Ulbrich), as well as “Up All Night” (Pardi, Butler and Brett Beavers), showcase his fondness for melodies built on tight, repetitive motifs. The guy just sounds like he’s having a ball, and with his amiable drawl he’s inviting us all to join him.

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE:

May 09, 2012, Yountville, CA – The Tug McGraw Foundation will hold its inaugural “Celebrity Sporting Clay Shootout”, presented by DeltaSports.TV, on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at the Nashville Gun Club in Nashville, Tennessee. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Tug McGraw Foundation and its efforts to improve the lives of military service members who have been affected by Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).

The Tug McGraw Foundation Celebrity Sporting Clay Shootout will feature an exciting lineup of celebrities, all vying for a chance to be crowned Celebrity Sporting Clay Shootout champions. Often described as “golf with shotguns,” the event will be a sporting clay shooting competition between 15 teams consisting of four shooters, a pro, and a celebrity. Unlike trap and skeet, which are games of repeatable target presentations, sporting clays simulates the unpredictability of live-quarry shooting, offering a great variety of trajectories, angles, speeds, elevations, distances, and target sizes.

The teams will make their way through the award-winning 15-station sporting clay course at the Nashville Gun Club. In addition to the shooting competition, there will be a BBQ lunch and silent auction with items including wine, dining, travel and sports & music memorabilia.
