VIDEO PREMIERE: "NALEIGH MOON" - JOSH KELLEY
I've always been a HUGE fan of Josh Kelley for years, way before he even considered taking the path to country music. He has an amazing voice, a sentiment in his songs that reach even the hardest heart, and he puts both of those to work in his latest song, a loving tribute to the young daughter that he and wife Katherine Heigl adopted in 2009, "Naleigh Moon". The song is available on his cd, "Georgia Clay", which we reviewed last year and recommended to anyone who loves honestly good music. Oh, and a trivia factoid for those who weren't aware, Josh is the brother of Charles Kelley of Lady Antebellum. I'd say talent runs in the Kelley veins.

Video Premiere: "Gone Like That" - Josh Kelley
Josh Kelley's cd, "Georgia Clay" is one of the best releases of 2011. Check out the video for his second single, "Gone Like That". I've loved Josh Kelley since way before his country debut, one of the best songwriters and voices to crossover. For those that don't know, Josh is the brother of Lady Antebellum's Charles Kelley.

CD Review: "Georgia Clay" - Josh Kelley

Artist: Josh Kelley
Release: Mar 22, 2011
Label: MCA Nashville
I knew this was gonna be an easy, almost predictable review because I've been a longtime fan of singer/songwriter, Josh Kelley. Josh may be known as the brother of Charles Kelley, front man for the wildly successful Lady Antebellum, and while strong solid vocals obviously run in the family, that's pretty much where the comparison ends. Josh had already carved his own notch in the music industry before Lady Antebellum hit it big. From the first time I heard him sing "Almost Honest" in 2005, I knew this guy had that something special that was gonna keep his name around for awhile. Not only does he have a natural, vulnerable songwriting ability, his voice is smooth and effortless, almost soothing in it's tone. When I heard he was releasing a country cd, I knew it wasn't gonna really be that much of a crossover from pop. He's got one a rare talent that would have no difficulty with transition.
When I opened this cd and put it in the cd player, I got exactly what I expected and more - a fantastic cd from first note to last, his familiar style with minimal "tweakage" and honestly good music. I personally think this cd is chock full of some of the best music Josh has written and performed to date and that's putting it mildly. What I love about his style is that it's so easy, laid back and a far cry from alot of the "music" that's currently permeating the airwaves.
His breakout single, "Georgia Clay", is a collection of Josh's teenage memories that have never left him through the years. Yes, this kind of flashback song has been done over and over but never like Josh does it. Josh can mentally put you riding in that old truck beside him and caking the tires with that famous Georgia clay. The song makes you remember when summers were fun, staying out late with friends, kissing on the tailgate and just enjoying it when you were carefree with no real worries. This lead in song was a hit on GAC and CMT as well as the country charts, breaking the Top 20. The next song, "Real Good Try", is a musical pleading with a lover for patience and understanding while he figures out the kind of man he wants to be and apologizes for what he's done. I love this song. Following that up is "Gone Like That" which shows the other side of the "one nighters" and "off and on" relationships where he realizes how much he actually cares about the woman and wants her back, but can't do it because he can't take the heartache of being left again. A definite plus to this cd is the next song, "Baby Blue Eyes", a co-write with Lee Brice. This song is the original style that made me fall in love with Josh years ago. The song is an obvious show of lyrical love and appreciation straight from his heart for his wife, actress Katherine Heigl. Awww and then there's "Naleigh Moon", an emotional tribute to his relationship with his recently adopted daughter, Naleigh. This song will require Kleenex if you really sit and listen to the affection and passion in his voice. It's as if she's in her mother's arms and he's looking at her as he sings her song. What a great song.
Mildly put, this entire cd is not lacking AT ALL. It's a rare find these days to come across a cd that doesn't have at least one crappy, gotta fill that empty space song on it. Well, this is that rate musical golden needle in a haystack of other cd's that you wish you hadn't bought. I can't wait to hear what he's gonna do next. What a welcome addition to country music, we hope you stay Josh!
Make sure you add this cd to your cd collection, it's sure to be a welcome addition, one you'll find gets played quote often. Heck, buy two so you don't overplay your only copy!
Find "Georgia Clay" at Amazon.com, iTunes, Best Buy and most stores where music is sold. You can also purchase it right off of Josh's website and get an autographed copy.

MIRANDA LAMBERT ANNOUNCES THE REVOLUTION CONTINUES TOUR WITH SPECIAL GUESTS JUSTIN MOORE AND JOSH KELLEY

Nashville, TN (January 31, 2011) - Following a whirlwind year full of impressive accolades and her first ever headlining tour, Texas singer/songwriter Miranda Lambert is revving up to hit the road again. The Revolution Continues nationwide tour kicks off February 24th in St. Louis, MO with special guests Justin Moore and Josh Kelley. In addition to her own tour, Lambert will join country legend Alan Jackson for his first Australian tour, which sold out in minutes.
Last year, Lambert’s first headlining tour met with sold out shows and rave reviews. The Revolution Continues tour should prove to deliver more of the same. "Whether it was the energetic 'Gunpowder and Lead,' where she picked up her microphone stand (shaped as a rifle) and pointed it at the crowd, or the emotional 'The House That Built Me,' Miranda proved she's one of the most powerful performers in today's country scene," praises Annie Reuter from AOL’s The Boot. "Aided by her powerhouse band, tender ballads like the exquisite 'The House That Built Me' and snarling barnburners like 'Maintain the Pain' blended to form a seamless 90-minute set that was over far too soon," raves Preston Jones with the Star Telegram.
"As for Lambert, she proved her queenly stature with terrific songs (the right mix of attitude and emotion -- with plenty of depth), a potent voice (no one can twang a song like she can) and a tight, forceful band," says Star Tribune’s Jon Bream.
Lambert’s special guests also sing her praises and can’t wait to get this tour started.
"Miranda and I met and became buddies on Brad Paisley's American Saturday Night tour, although, I’ve been a fan of her music for a while," says Justin Moore. "I am very excited to get to tour together again and I couldn’t be happier for her and her success over the past year. It’s gonna be a blast."
"I can’t wait to tour again with Miranda this spring to continue the Revolution, we had so much fun together in fall," exclaims Josh Kelley. "Getting to introduce my new songs to her audience was exhilarating, and now that my album 'Georgia Clay' is being released on March 22nd, fans will be able to take the music home with them."

Born and raised in Poyen, Arkansas (Pop. 272), Southern Country Stylist Justin Moore embodies the soul and character of a kid from a small town in both life and in music with his tough-talking, straight-shooting brand of Country music. Lauded as Billboard’s “New Country Artist of 2009,” Moore was the only new Country artist that year to earn #1 single status (for his hometown anthem “Small Town USA”). The success of "Small Town USA" made the Arkansas native the first solo artist to have a song from his/her debut album go to #1 since Taylor Swift's "Our Song" (from her Big Machine Records self-titled release) in December 2007. The hit has sold over half a million downloads to-date. Moore’s follow-up single, “Backwoods,” was a Top 5 hit and his single, “How I Got To Be This Way” was a top 20 hit. Moore’s self-titled album, which debuted on the Billboard Top 200’s Top 10, was recognized as one of the best albums of 2009 in The New York Times’ “The Year in the Arts” list by music critic Jon Caramanica. Justin’s sophomore album will be out later this year, with a new single set to impact Country Radio in first quarter.
A 2010 CMT Music Award Nominee, Moore is also a Top 15 MySpace Artist (Country) and performed alongside Brad Paisley on the H20 World Tour through the end of 2010. The rising star has been featured recently in The New York Times, The Washington Post, People Country, Billboard and USA Today as well as on the 2010 CMT Music Awards, NPR, WGN Midday News, Fox News Channel, the Associated Press, the 2009 CMT Music Awards, Crook & Chase, GAC and Better TV. Moore’s music has also been featured on FOX’s Hannity & Colmes, NFL Rewind and the2010 Academy of Country Music Awards.
