PEOPLE COUNTRY PREMIERES KALIE SHORR’S EMOTIONAL “ESCAPE” MUSIC VIDEO

Having received high-praise for the vulnerability of her critically-acclaimed album Open Book, Kalie Shorr continues to share the unfiltered version of her life in the music video for “Escape.” In this stripped down video, Shorr sits on a road case in an empty room flashing to home videos from her childhood, including footage with her late sister, who died tragically last year of an accidental heroin overdose. “Escape” was premiered online yesterday by PEOPLE Country and on television today on CMT and CMT Music. The song is featured on Apple Music's Soundcheck playlist.

“Putting out something that is just the core of who I am, I’ve definitely gone in and out of feeling ashamed,” she says. “But to have people like it and embrace it on such a big level, that’s not just really accepting and liking my music; it’s acceptance of me — because the album is me — and that’s validating on the deepest level. It’s emotional, for sure,” Shorr tells PEOPLE.

PEOPLE's Nancy Kruh describes the video stating, “and yet, she knows, everything used to be so not complicated — which is perhaps the most heart-rending aspect of the video that PEOPLE is debuting. In the music video, Shorr has juxtaposed her piercing performance with home movies from her own childhood. The snippets show an impossibly adorable little girl [...] All the while, the grown-up Shorr sings of that innocence lost.”

Shorr continues to receive praise for her debut album Open Book as she has been ranked No. 9 on Robert Christgau’s (Dean of Music Reviewers) 2019 Dean's List.

After her Exit/In show, Billboard’s Annie Reuter said “Shorr’s high energy 90-minute set proved why she’s one of Nashville’s most buzzed-about acts. Her honest storytelling combined with her unique country rock flair engaged the packed room while her onstage banter shared her humor and vulnerabilities with the audience.”

The next step for Shorr is continuing on her “Too Much To Say Tour” as she brings it to Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles, Calif. and Stoney’s Rockin’ Country in Las Vegas, Nev. Make sure to stay up to date with Shorr at www.kalieshorr.com

#TOURINGNEWS - KALIE SHORR TO OPEN FOR LEANN RIMES ON BELOVED ‘YOU AND ME AND CHRISTMAS’ TOUR

Critically-acclaimed Nashville singer/songwriter Kalie Shorr has been announced as the opener for music icon LeAnn Rimes on the multi-platinum selling artist’s beloved You And Me And Christmas Tour this winter. The tour kicks off in Waterloo, N.Y. on November 30 and visits 11 cities across the East Coast. (See full list of tour dates below).

Handpicked by Rimes, Shorr has built quite the resume in the past few years, becoming what Rolling Stone recently called “one of country music’s most promising new artists.” Since her SiriusXM Highway Find “Fight Like A Girl” in 2016 she has been named a CMT Next Women of Country, toured alongside Sara Evans and RaeLynn, been featured on NPR programs, PBS NewsHour and in features in Elle Magazine, Refinery29 and many more. She made her Grand Ole Opry debut in 2018 and has gone on to play the stage 15 times.

Shorr’s first-ever full-length album, Open Book, was released on September 27 with respected music critic Ann Powers including “Alice in Wonderland” in NPR Music’s Top 20 Songs of September describing it as “a word to a gaslit girl from one who's wisened up, this rocker is as gleefully mean as Avril Lavigne's finest and as sisterly as something by the Dixie Chicks. Hot stuff from one of Nashville's most promising.” With the lead single, “Lullaby,” having received support by Bobby Bones on his Women of iHeartCountry show, its music video premiered online by Refinery29 and on television by CMT and CMT Music, as well as Saturday marking her 15th appearance on the Grand Ole Opry, the Nashville establishment has embraced the artist's forward-thinking approach to creating music.

This is Rimes seventh annual Holiday tour, one that has become a holiday tradition for many. Attendees can get in the Christmas spirit as Rimes sings her hits along with timeless holiday classics.

Fans can still purchase a VIP experience with Rimes that includes meet & greet, prime seats and merchandise. General public tickets will be available starting July 26 (check local listings) via all of the venues websites and www.leannrimes.com.

NEW ARTIST KALIE SHORR ANNOUNCED AS ONE OF CMT'S CLASS OF 2018 "NEXT WOMEN OF COUNTRY"

CMT's “Next Women of Country” celebration announced nine newcomers to its elite roster on Tuesday, adding both signed and unsigned female artists Kalie Shorr, Abby Anderson, Ashley McBryde, Bailey Bryan, Erin Enderlin, Hannah Ellis, Jo Smith, Kassi Ashton and The Sisterhood Band. Nashville Mayor Megan Barry was on-hand to announce CMT’s Next Women Class of 2018.

“The team at CMT has been a constant support and safe place for me since I first moved to Nashville four years ago. This was the fourth CMT’s Next Women of Country event I’ve attended, so getting to be in the Class of 2018 was such an honor and a cool perspective moment for me,” said Kalie Shorr.  “I am surrounded by many talented women who I’ve admired and looked up to for a long time. I am very thankful for the people of Nashville who champion women relentlessly, and CMT is at the forefront of that.”

Kalie Shorr, Kelleigh Bannen and Lindsay Ell kicked off the event with a surprise cover of Taylor Swift’s pop hit “Look What You Made Me Do,” which was filmed for an exclusive music video that will air on CMT later in November.

CMT launched its “Next Women of Country” campaign in 2013 as a way to give more attention and airplay to emerging female country artists across all screens.
