LONESTAR ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM "TEN TO 1" SET FOR RELEASE FRIDAY, JUNE 2

LEADOFF SINGLE “AMAZED” OUT WEDNESDAY, MARCH 1

NATIONAL HEADLINING TOUR SPANS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR

Having just celebrated their 30th anniversary in 2022, Lonestar, the highly acclaimed and multi-award-winning country group, announce their new album TEN to 1 — an invigorating re-recording of 10 of their #1 hits — will be released on Friday, June 2.

There’s something about combining nostalgia with innovation that turns a beloved memory into an engaging new experience. That’s the foundation for Lonestar’s TEN to 1 — giving fans brand new versions of the hits they have loved for years. “Amazed,” the lead single from the collection, which originally spent 11 weeks in a No. 1 position, is set for a Wednesday, March 1 release.

Re-recording songs that fans have loved for years can be a tricky proposition, but TEN to 1 strikes the perfect balance between fresh and familiar. It was a labor of love for Lonestar’s Dean Sams, drummer Keech Rainwater, guitar virtuoso Michael Britt and lead vocalist Drew Womack.

“We’ve been doing this for a very long time, and we’ve been super blessed in our 30 plus years together to have 22 top 10 singles and then have 10 of those go No.1,” says founding member Dean Sams, who has produced the group’s last six albums. “We’ve adapted our sound so much over the years through playing live, we’ve started approaching songs a little bit differently and so we just thought we should put a version of who we are today out there with all 10 of our No. 1’s.” Michael Britt adds: “Most of these songs we’ve played for 25 years or so, and we know these songs like the back of our hand. It was fun to be able to record songs that everybody knows and just put a different spin on them because we’ve changed them over time.”

TEN to 1 kicks off with Lonestar’s very first No. 1, “No News,” which topped the chart in 1996. The 10-song collection then proceeds chronologically with the hits “Come Cryin’ To Me,” “Everything’s Changed,” “Amazed,” “Smile,” “What About Now,” “Tell Her,” “I’m Already There,” “My Front Porch Looking In” and “Mr. Mom.”

"TEN to 1" Tracklisting:

“No News”
“My Front Porch Looking In”
“Come Cryin’ To Me”
“Amazed”
“Smile”
“What About Now”
“Tell Her”
“I’m Already There”
“Mr. Mom”
“Everything’s Changed”

After wrapping up their most successful touring year ever last year, Lonestar continues to maintain a busy tour schedule and in 2023 will enjoy a bucket list moment as they headline Nashville’s famed Ryman Auditorium for the first time on Friday, March 3 — a stop on their national headlining “TEN To 1” Tour. “We’ve done a few sets there and played the Opry there, but we’ve never done a real show there and we’ve wanted to for years,” says Britt.

Giving the fans what they want has made Lonestar one of the most successful groups in country music history. Each band member hails from Texas and since they rocketed to national acclaim in 1995, Lonestar has amassed RIAA-certified sales in excess of ten million albums. The band’s quadruple-platinum 1999 album Lonely Grill spawned four No. 1 hits (including the global smash “Amazed”) and established Lonestar as music's preeminent pop-country band. Lonestar won the 1996 ACM Top New Vocal Group honor as well as 1999 ACM Single of The Year for “Amazed,” which also won Song of the Year, 2001 CMA Vocal Group of the Year and 2002 ACM Top Vocal Group.

Proceeds To Benefit TAPS And Its Families

Roots & American Music Society (RAMS), a not-for-profit record label based in Memphis, Tennessee, has teamed with the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) to orchestrate and create a meaningful recording project titled LOVE LIVES ON.

The combined creative endeavor aligned TAPS military families, who have endured the loss of a loved one, with some of the music industry’s most gifted and renowned songwriters to pen the family members’ intimate and personal stories in music and song.

Featuring special guest vocal performances by award-winning recording artists Vince Gill, Billy Ray Cyrus, John Rich, All-4-One, Lonestar, Gatlin Brothers and more, complemented by A-list studio and touring musicianship [including Vinnie Colaiuta, Eric Darken, Dann Huff,  David Hungate (Toto) and David Pack (Ambrosia) among many others], the 10-track collaboration will be available via all major digital retail and streaming outlets (Amazon/iTunes/Pandora/Spotify/Tidal) on Friday, May 22, 2020.*

The LOVE LIVES ON pre-sale event begins Friday, April 3, 2020.

Produced by Frank Myers (Richie McDonald/Kenny Loggins/Michael Burrows/Eddy Raven/Andy Griggs) and Jimmy Nichols (Reba/Faith Hill/Andy Griggs/Mindy McCready), the inspiration behind the project was spawned by TAPS Founder and President, Bonnie Carroll who lost her husband, Brig. Gen. Thomas C. Carroll, a lifelong Alaskan and commander of the Alaska Army National Guard, in a military plane crash along with seven other soldiers. The embracing musical dedication offers intimate insight from the survivors’ perspective, life experiences and their courageous journey to live on.

The title track, “Love Lives On,” slated for a March 20, 2020 digital and streaming release, is signatured by Richie McDonald (Lonestar), who performs lead vocals, with a special appearance by Grammy®-winning artist Vince Gill. Symbolic of the entire project, the tune shares hope as a “light at the end of the tunnel” for those who carry the burden of grief.

Other tracks are as similarly touching and emotional. The tune “K9 Brother” (performed by Andy Griggs) recalls the relation, dedication and loyalty between two heroic soldiers, “Joshua 1:9” (Dave Fenley) and “People Need To Know” (The Gatlin Brothers/Paul Overstreet) depict fun-loving, youthful and brave character; while the tunes “Isn’t It Amazing” (All-4-One) and “New Set Of Wings” (Pam Tillis) offer an uplifting, spiritual sentiment heightened by spine-chilling harmonies.

“The entire project…with these incredible artists, gifted songwriters and beautiful families, is our chance to tell the story of service and sacrifice in our military, and among our military families,” said Bonnie Carroll, TAPS Founder and President. “I am so very proud of, and grateful for, all those who offered their hand, talent and heart to bring it to life.”

“My very first performance for TAPS was one of the most moving and rewarding experiences of my career; I immediately felt compelled to share the organization's passion,” added co-producer Jimmy Nichols. “My hope is that this project helps make that happen—that the TAPS' mission is on the minds, lips and in the hearts of folks across the country. For all those we’ve lost, and for those who have suffered for our freedom, we dedicate this magical musical tribute to you."

“Our hope with LOVE LIVES ON was to create a meaningful avenue to share the stories of military heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice as seen through the eyes of the beautiful people who knew them well--their families and battle buddies,” said Steve Dunavant, Roots & American Music Society. “What we experienced in making this album was spiritual, humbling and life-changing. These 10 inspirational songs truly capture the passion of our encounter, the intimacy and courage of the TAPS family members, and are a testament to the aspirational message that ‘love lives on.’  When you hear them, we believe you will feel the same way.”

"LOVE LIVES ON" SINGLE FEATURING LONESTAR, VINCE GILL AND FRIENDS SET TO RELEASE MARCH 20

A RECOLLECTION AND MUSICAL DEDICATION TO OUR MEN AND WOMEN OF SERVICE
WHO HAVE MADE THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE
AVAILABLE FRIDAY, MARCH 20, 2020
• Single Poised As “Vocal Event Of The Year” •
• Proceeds To Benefit TAPS •

Roots & American Music Society (RAMS), a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization and record label based in Memphis, Tennessee, has teamed with the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) to orchestrate and create a meaningful recording project titled LOVE LIVES ON. The combined creative endeavor aligned TAPS military families, who have endured the loss of a loved one, with some of the music industry’s most gifted and renowned songwriters to pen the family members’ intimate and personal stories in music and song. The title track, “Love Lives On,”* and debut single will be released as an early introduction to the 10-track collaboration and available via all major digital retail and streaming outlets (Amazon/iTunes/Pandora/ Spotify/Tidal) on Friday, March 20, 2020. Pre-sale event begins Friday, February 21, 2020.

Written by TAPS Founder and President, Bonnie Carroll, alongside Richie McDonald (Lonestar), and producers Frank Myers (Richie McDonald/Kenny Loggins/Michael Burrows/Eddy Raven/Andy Griggs) and Jimmy Nichols (Reba/Faith Hill/Andy Griggs/Mindy McCready), “Love Lives On” opens with dancing piano keys that gently give way to an introspective and true-to-life storyline. Inspired by Carroll’s husband, Brig. Gen. Thomas C. Carroll, a lifelong Alaskan and commander of the Alaska Army National Guard who lost his life when his National Guard plane crashed, the recalling and captivating tune touches on the hardship of unexpected and untimely death, and learning to live again, in faith, love and with hope.

“Richie, Jimmy and I attended the TAPS 25th Anniversary Gala last year and the idea was inspired by Bonnie Carroll’s opening remarks,” introduced co-producer Frank Myers.“The song is a moving mid-tempo that not only speaks to Bonnie's personal story, but embraces the stories of so many TAPS survivors. This is by far the most meaningful project I have ever had the pleasure to be a part of."

Poised to be a "vocal event,” Richie McDonald (Lonestar) performs lead vocals complemented by Grammy®-winning artist Vince Gill; the tune is livened by a powerful chorus (signatured by an award-winning group of recording artists and songwriters) to shine “light at the end of the tunnel” symbolizing “hope” for those who carry the burden of grief.

LOVE LIVES ON - EVERY DAY EVERY NIGHT

IN OUR HEARTS IN OUR MINDS LIKE AND OLD CLASSIC SONG

LOVE LIVES ON - WHERE WE WORK WHERE WE LIVE

IN THE EYES OF OUR KIDS AND EVERY PICTURE ON THE WALL

I CAN STILL FEEL YOU WITH ME EVEN THOUGH YOU ARE GONE

LOVE LIVES ON, LOVE LIVES ON

“I’m honored to be a part of this song that was inspired by Bonnie’s touching story,” said “Love Lives On” co-writer and lead vocalist Richie McDonald. “She poured her heart out, and as writers, we just took her emotions, put them to rhyme and reason to create a song that will hopefully help others to ‘remember’.”

“This song…the entire project…with these incredible artists, gifted songwriters and beautiful families, is our chance to tell the story of service and sacrifice in our military, and among our military families,” said Bonnie Carroll, TAPS Founder and President. “I am so very proud of, and grateful for, all those who offered their hand, talent and heart to bring my personal story, and vision, to life.”

The release of the title track serves as a commencement leading to the release of the LOVE LIVES ON CD compilation highlighting 10 original songs that honor the dedication and lives of our servicemen and women, and the sacrifice of fallen military heroes. Vince Gill, Billy Ray Cyrus, John Rich, All-4-One, Gatlin Brothers, Lonestar and many others lent their time and vocal talents to perform on the project. A stellar grouping of A-list studio and touring musicians also appear on the album including Vinnie Colaiuta, Eric Darken, Dan Huff, David Hungate (Toto) and David Pack (Ambrosia) among numerous others. LOVE LIVES ON (the album) is set for a 2020 Memorial Day weekend release. Net proceeds from both the single and CD release will benefit TAPS. Ed Gertler, Digital Retail Services, will spearhead the digital retail and streaming services.

For all those we’ve lost, and for those who have suffered for our freedom, we dedicate this magical musical tribute to you; because love (truly does) lives on."

WAY BACK WHEN WEDNESDAY: RUNNIN' AWAY WITH MY HEART - LONESTAR

On the first “Way Back When Wednesday” of June, first I thought we’d take a second to wish you a Happy June and a Happy Summer.  Secondly, Happy CMAfest/Fan Fair time! Less than a week to go!  There will be so many artists and fans alike in Nashville and many of those esteemed, prominent artists will be playing the Riverfront Stage as well as many others.  Lonestar will in fact, be playing the Riverfront Stage on Sunday June 14th!  Coincidentally, that’s who we’ve chosen to focus on for today’s “Way Back When Wednesday”, Lonestar with their 1995 hit “Runnin’ Away With My Heart.”

Released on their self-titled debut album, “Runnin’ Away With My Heart” is quintessential 90’s country.  Lonestar played a large part in shaping 90’s country (and country beyond that) with this song at the helm. Written by Lonestar lead guitarist and vocalist Michael Britt, Mark D. Sanders and Sam Hogin, “Runnin’ Away With My Heart” is about a guy who’s fallen so hard for the girl he’s with, she’s running away with his heart.  Ritchie McDonald and Lonestar start out with acquiring a faster car.  “Hey Buddy can you get me some faster wheels I got a heartache nippin' at my heels I'll be hurtin' if she gets a big head start.”  Even as he catches up to her, his heart is never surrendered as “even when I'm holdin' her tight She's running away with my heart.”  Does his heart ever become his again? Does she surrender hers in exchange? We may never know, but it’s easy to see how this song, as well as the entire “Lonestar” album launched a career.  The now-famous debut album houses hits such as “Runnin’ Away With My Heart,” “Tequila Talkin’,” “No News” and many others.  The writing prowess of the entire band as well as the instrumentals and vocals is a clear blueprint of great country music that continues to be used today.

And go to see them at Riverfront! Happy CMAfest/Fan Fair Everybody!

LONESTAR SETS RELEASE DATE FOR ‘LIFE AS WE KNOW IT’

FIRST ALBUM SINCE THE RETURN OF VOCALIST RICHIE McDONALD DUE
TUESDAY, JUNE 4 VIA THEIR OWN 4 STAR RECORDS/THE ORCHARD

VIDEO FOR ‘MAYBE SOMEDAY’ IS OFFICIALLY ADDED ON
CMT.COM

Multi-platinum and award-winning country quartet Lonestar has announced that their new album, LIFE AS WE KNOW IT, will be released Tuesday, June 4 via the band’s own 4 Star Records, in partnership with The Orchard. LIFE AS WE KNOW IT marks the first full-length album release for Lonestar in over three years and the first since the much-anticipated return of revered original vocalist Richie McDonald.

The album’s second single “Maybe Someday” is currently spinning nationwide at country radio. The soaring and plaintive breakup song--written by the group’s McDonald and Dean Sams, along with songwriters Frank Myers and Billy Montana--is available for purchase now on iTunes. The “Maybe Someday” video has been officially added to CMT.com CMT Pure and CMT Mobile. (see it here: http://www.cmt.com/videos/lonestar/899152/maybe-someday.jhtml) and the band speaks at length about the writing of the song in this newly released clip: http://youtu.be/EQaR3oOzL18. Recently shot in Nashville, the “Maybe Someday” video features the return of Sunny Mabrey (“Mad Men,” “Desperate Housewives,” “CSI: Miami”), the actress from the video for their massive hit “Amazed” (which can be seen here).

Known both for their strong country roots as well as their multi-genre crossover appeal that’s led to a history of success on the pop/rock charts, multi-platinum-selling Lonestar has only their own career records to break. The band has RIAA-certified sales in excess of 10 million album units since their national launch in 1995. According to Billboard, "Lonestar's chart history boasts 18 Top 10 songs, which includes three Top 5 peaks, and nine No. 1's." (8/9/12)

2012 also marked a big year personally and professionally for Lonestar--Michael Britt, lead guitar & backing vocals; Richie McDonald, lead vocals & piano; Keech Rainwater, drums; and Dean Sams, keyboards and backing vocals--as they celebrated their 20th anniversary as a band and the return of McDonald.

McDonald is excited to be back with his friends and the upcoming release of LIFE AS WE KNOW IT, recently telling Digitaljournal.com they had full control of the album: “I think what’s different about this one is that we got to produce it, so we had a little more creative control. We actually wrote nine of the twelve songs, so we really feel--for the first time in our careers--that this is really us more than ever.” As for re-joining the group, Richie says, “It’s been awesome. When we got back together, we all said that were gonna enjoy this time and I think in years past we kind of took it for granted and didn’t really enjoy the moment. For us, we feel like there’s no pressure. We just want to enjoy making music, enjoy being together, enjoy playing, performing live and entertaining our fans…and that’s really what it’s all about for us.”

On the touring front, Lonestar is looking forward to making their debut at Stagecoach: California’s Country Music Festival Sunday, April 28 where they’ll share the stage with the likes of Zac Brown Band, Darius Rucker, Thompson Square and others. A major nationwide tour is also in the works and dates will be announced soon.

We kind of mixed it up. It's always good to give the fans a little bit of everything.” He went on to say, “The music feels like us more than it ever has in our 20 year career. We think it’s the best album we've ever made." (7/9/12)

The multi-platinum country quartet has released their new single, “The Countdown,” currently spinning nationwide at country radio. SAMS explained the inspiration for “The Countdown” to The Villager (Cattaraugus County, NY), “It’s a great up-tempo song that talks about this guy trying to get home to the girl he loves. It’s about all the miles, all the red lights, all the cities (along the way) just to get to her. Although ‘Countdown’ is one of the most driving songs done by Lonestar as a band, it is a very passionate love song.” (7/5/12)

LONESTAR is currently on a national headlining tour performing the new music for their fans, including “The Countdown,” “Pretty Good Day,” and “I Miss When.” Carly Weber of The Gazette (Cedar Rapids, IA) attended a recent show and noted, “…the catchy ‘[It’s a] Pretty Good Day [to be Me]’ is certainly a potential hit. The new songs fully energized the band, suggesting that the group is excited about the fresh material.” (7/5/12).

It’s official. Multi-platinum country music group LONESTAR has reunited with original lead singer Richie McDonald and will tour and record a new album in 2012 to mark their 20thanniversary.

The first concert dates for the band’s four original members--keyboardist Dean Sams, drummer Keech Rainwater, lead guitarist Michael Britt and McDonald--will take place overseasFebruary 26-March 4 (see tour itinerary and artist quotes below). Armed with an array of their classic songs including “Amazed”--a #1 country and #1 pop hit that kicked the doors wide open for country music at pop radio in the ‘90s--LONESTAR will perform in London (Wembley Arena), Belfast, Ireland (Odyssey Arena), Zurich, Switzerland (Hallenstadion) andMannheim, Germany (SAP Arena) on a multi-artist bill with Reba McEntire, Ricky Scaggs and Little Big Town. Stay tuned for news about 2012 tour dates in North America.

The buzz about LONESTAR began yesterday (October 25) when the band sent a Tweet which read: “Big news for Lonestar fans coming tomorrow! 2012 marks our 20th anniversary. What would you like to see and hear from us?”

The Texas-bred band, known for merging their country roots with strong melodies and rich vocals, has amassed RIAA-certified sales in excess of 10 million album units since their national launch in 1995 and achieved 10 #1 country hits including “No News,” “Come Crying To Me” and “Amazed.” The band’s awards include a 1999 ACM Single of The Yearfor “Amazed” (the song also won the Song of the Year award) and the 2001 CMA Vocal Group of the Year. After McDonald left the band for a solo career in 2007, LONESTARtoured and released their 10th album in 2010, Party Heard Around The World, with lead vocalist Cody Collins. The band wishes Cody the best in his future musical endeavors.

LONESTAR is excited to celebrate their 20th anniversary, open a new chapter and record a new album (label TBA). Here’s what the band has to say:

Richie McDonald: “Well, five years has come and gone since I left Lonestar. We've all tried other avenues and the fact remains that some things were just meant to be. With the Lonestar 20 year reunion approaching, Dean, Michael, Keech and I got together and have decided we have some unfinished business to take care of. I miss those crazy nights running around on stage making music with my band of brothers. Looking forward to a new chapter in the book of Lonestar and reliving some old memories and also making some new ones for the fans that have been loyal to us through thick and thin. See ya soon, God Bless, Richie.”

Dean Sams: "With 2012 in the near future, we all began thinking of what that meant to us as a band. 2012 is a huge landmark for us, marking 20 years of great music and friendship. It was seeing this milestone that began conversations about the legacy of Lonestar. The music we've created over the years, along with all of the fans we have made along the way, is something we have never taken for granted. We have so much more music to offer the country music fans, and truly feel they want us back on the radio and out on the road performing live for them. After a lot of soul searching and long conversations between all of us involved, we are energized and excited to be writing and recording new music together again!"

Keech Rainwater: “I think fans ultimately wondered if this was ever going to happen again and it always seemed like the original Lonestar as a whole was better than the sum of its parts. With Richie back in the band, fans can enjoy new music and again experience the sound they are used to hearing at our shows. Lonestar has always been very serious about the music we put out. I am excited to see and hear what comes out of this reunion and upcoming album. I think that having a break for a while, will have sparked new ideas and great music, both live and in the studio. Lonestar music seems to strike a chord with fans from all around. More specifically, ‘Amazed’ and ‘I'm Already There’ seemed to have changed people’s lives in one way or another. The thought of continuing that tradition and moving forward is very exciting.”

Michael Britt: “I’m very proud of everything we've achieved in our career so far, doing things that not many bands have been able to do. But even after all that we've done, I think we still have a powerful drive to keep making music and doing new things. In this case, doing a new thing is going to be getting back to where we started and hopefully taking Lonestar someplace new while giving our longtime fans and friends the familiar sound they know as Lonestar. I'm excited about the opportunity to celebrate our 20 years together this way and hope there are many more to come.”
