TRACE ADKINS DEBUTS NEW CD "LOVE WILL..." , TV SCHEDULE, AND MORE!

Trace Adkins’ 11th studio album, Love Will...  was released today on Show Dog-Universal Music. The album is available on iTunes http://smarturl.it/ituneslw and a week of live performances and appearances are planned.

Street Week kicked off Sunday (5/12) with a Love Will… release party and Apprentice viewing event with friends and family at Hard Rock Cafe Nashville. On Wednesday (5/15) he’ll perform on the Today Show followed that night by a SiriusXM “Sounds of Summer” concert at Hard Rock Cafe New York which will be broadcast live on The Highway, channel 59 (8:00pm EST). In addition to many Apprentice-related appearances this week, Trace will also perform on Fox & Friends on Friday (5/17).

As NBC’s All-Star Celebrity Apprentice nears its finale on Sunday (5/19), Trace is a finalist with over $700K (and counting!) raised for the American Red Cross. It’s an accomplishment he’s proud of, as a man who honors the selfless service of others. That quality has also earned him a reputation as a die-hard supporter of the troops and Adkins is humbled to serve as an honorary Grand Marshall at the 2013 National Memorial Day Parade in Washington, DC (5/27).

At the heart of all the excitement is an album from the veteran hit-maker and outspoken roughneck. With vocal variety and a thematic focus, Love Will… tackles the world’s greatest emotion and features collaborations with two-time Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter, Colbie Caillat, the esteemed Harlem Gospel Choir and rock/country veterans, Exile. The impressive list of producers includes Tony Brown, Mark Wright, Frank Rogers, Kenny Beard and Mickey Cones.

“In my book, ‘Hot Mama’ and ‘Badonkadonk’ are love songs,” jokes Adkins. “So don’t start thinking this album is all ‘til the end of time’ ballads…but yeah, we’ve got those too.”

It’s an album of sexy grooves, heart-wrenching ballads and up-tempo anthems worthy of Adkins’ long list of hits. Equally known for his integrity and irreverent sense of humor, he’s made a career making fans laugh (“Honky Tonk Badonkadonk”) and making hearts swell (“Til The Last Shot’s Fired,” “You’re Gonna Miss This”).

As Trace points out, the variety on Love Will…is layered. The album title itself is an open-ended question - love will build a bridge? love will move mountains? love will tear us apart? Any Country fan can tell you…all are true.

If you're a fan of NBC's "Celebrity Apprentice" and have watched Trace Adkins in action, you know he's always in search of that something different, something unique and something new. This new cd, "Love Will ..." is the best example of just that. Having worked with 5 different producers on this project, it goes to show that he didn't want the same old music, Trace wanted to mix it up a little, yet not try to fix what isn't broken.

For a towering hulk of a man that has literally taken a bullet, kicked ass in many a bar brawl and worked the dangers of an oil rig, this cd sure seems soft but that's ok by me. It's nice to see that love still works it's way into the toughest of hearts and it's even nicer to hear. Now don't get me wrong, this isn't a vocal Kleenexy, sappy, cheesy, Barry Manilow "Mandy" love letter, this is just good music done the way only Trace can do it, with meaning, soul and out of the box. Some songs are classic Trace and some, not so much. He tackles a love that isn't returned in "So What If I Do". He makes the listener want to chase down the woman who won't return his love and beat her over the head with his boot and knock some sense into her. It's Trace for God's sake, woman! Have you not seen this man?

There's a somewhat odd duet with pop star, Colbie Caillat. My verdict's still out on this one. Now there's something I never pictured myself saying about a song by Trace Adkins. The song content is just a little strange to me, almost apocalyptic. I'll have to get back to you on this one. I do love his rendition of Exile's "Kiss You All Over." I gotta admit, I blushed at the thought. I'm still blushing! One song that will require tissues is "If the Sun Comes Up". The song talks about what a man wants for his girl after he's gone - her happiness, her memories and for her to move on with her life. To me, this is the song I think should have been released as the first single.

The cd is full of other songs that are just ok to me, not blockbusters and not bad. They're standard Trace and that's a good thing. I love that he doesn't venture too far out of his comfort zone yet he does color outside the lines just a little and adds something fresh and new. That being said, it's definitely worth the purchase and will satisfy any Trace Adkins fan. This cd focuses simply on his vocals and gives you the chance to hear just what an amazing singer Trace Adkins is. I like the simplicity of it and love that we're not hearing about badonkadonks and marrying for money this go around.
