FALLING IN LOVE THROUGH A SONG ... OUR FAVORITE COUNTRY LOVE SONG LYRICS

Well, that time of year is upon us ... you know what I'm talking about. No, not winter although that is unfortunately here, but that time of year where love is in the air, Cupid's sharpening his arrow and couples everywhere are thinking about what they can do show each other how much they love each other while singles are rolling their eyes and spraying the air with "anti-love" repellant. Roses are great but sometimes there's no bigger turn on than words that come from the heart and whether you are head over heels giddy in love or you're single and swearing you'll never love again, country music has always been good at producing some of the best lines to make one believe in love ... through a song.

Here are some of our picks for the best "lyrics from the heart" just in time for Valentine's Day which falls in about 2 weeks. What are your favorite words from the heart?

"You were in my arms, right where you belong. And we were so in love, it was almost like a song."
- Ronnie Milsap "It Was Almost Like A Song"

"If I made you feel second best, girl I'm sorry I was blind. You were always on my mind."
- Willie Nelson "You Were Always on My Mind"

"Same old boy. Same sweet girl. Ten years down the road. He held her tight and kissed her lips in front of the picture show."
- Tim McGraw "Don't Take the Girl"

"So I made a promise to myself to say each day how much she means to me, and avoid that circumstance where theres no second chance to tell her how I feel."
- Garth Brooks "If Tomorrow Never Comes"

"Take a look around. I'm the sunshine in your hair. I'm the shadow on the ground. I'm the whisper in the wind. I'm your imaginary friend."
- Lonestar "I'm Already There"

"Did you ever see a robin weep when leaves begin to die? That means he's lost the will to live. I'm so lonesome I could cry."
- Hank Williams "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry"

"I hold everything when I hold you in my arms. I've got all I'll ever need thanks to the keeper of the stars."
- Tracy Byrd "Keeper of the Stars"

"Don't know what I did to earn a love like this, but baby I must be doin' somethin' right."
- Billy Currington "Must Be Doin' Somethin' Right"

"No, it wasn't at first sight, but the moment I looked twice, I saw the woman I was born to love."
- Andy Griggs "She's More"

"Love is certain, love is kind. Love is yours and love is mine. But it isn't something that we find. It's something that we do."
- Clint Black "Something That We Do"

"I may not even be the dream you wanted to come true. But I'll always be the man in love with you."
- George Strait "The Man in Love With You"

"When the evening shadows and the star appear, and there is no one to dry your tears. I could hold you for a million years, to make you feel my love."
- Garth Brooks "To Make You Feel My Love"

"I got over you just long enough to let my heartache mend. And then today I started loving you again."
- Merle Haggard "Today I Started Loving You Again"

"The smile on your face lets me know that you need me. There's a truth in your eyes sayin' you'll never leave me. The touch of your hand says you'll catch me if ever I fall. You say it best when you say nothing at all."
- Keith Whitley "When You Say Nothing At All"

"Where've you been? I've looked for you forever and a day. Where've you been? I'm just not myself when you're away."
- Kathy Mattea "Where've You Been"

Good morning, beautiful, how was your night? Mine was wonderful with you by my side. And when I open my eyes to see your sweet face, it's a good morning, beautiful day."
- Steve Holy "Good Morning Beautiful"

"Come and lay down by my side till the early morning light. All I'm takin' is your time, help me make it through the night."
- Kris Kristofferson "Help Me Make it Through the Night"

MUSIC MONDAY: LYRICS TO BELIEVE IN - "I BELIEVE IN YOU" - DON WILLIAMS

Lyrics tend to tell a story, to give us insight into the heart of their writer. One of the best written and most honest songs ever written is "I Believe in You". Written by Sam Hogin and Roger Cook and performed by the "gentle giant" of country music, Don Williams, "I Believe in You"does exactly what a great song should do, stir emotions and make you believe in the story. Thank you Sam, Roger and Don for an amazing song.

"I Believe In You"

I don't believe in superstars
Organic food and foreign cars
I don't believe the price of gold
The certainty of growing old
That right is right and left is wrong
That north and south can't get along
That east is east and west is west
And bein' first is always best.

But I believe in love
I believe in babies
I believe in mom and dad
And I believe in you.

Well, I don't believe that heaven waits
For only those who congregate
I'd like to think of God as love
He's down below
He's up above
He's watchin' people everywhere
He knows who does and doesn't care
And I'm an ordinary man
Sometimes I wonder who I am.

But I believe in love
I believe in music
I believe in magic
And I believe in you.

I know with all my certainty
What's goin' on with you and me
Is a good thing
It's true
I believe in you.

I don't believe virginity
Is as common as it used be
In workin' days and sleepin' nights
That black is black and white is white
That Superman and Robinhood
Are still alive in Hollywood
That gasoline's in short supply
The risin' cost of gettin' by

But I believe in love
I believe in old folks
I believe in children
I believe in you.

I believe in love
I believe in babies
I believe in mom and dad
And I believe in you.

Lyrics That Matter: "How You Live" - Point of Grace

Wake up to the sunlight with your windows open
Don't hold in your anger or leave things unspoken
Wear your red dress
Use your good dishes
Make a big mess and make lots of wishes
Have what you want but want what you have
And don't spend your life lookin back

Turn up the music
Turn it up loud
Take a few chances
And let it all out
Cause you won't regret it
Lookin back from where you have been
Cause it's not who you knew
And it's not what you did
It's how you lived

So go to the ball game
And go to the ballet
Go see your folks more than just on the holidays
Kiss all your children
Dance with your wife
Tell your husband you love him every night
Don't run from the truth cause you can't get away
Oh No...
Just face it and you'll be okay

Turn up the music
Turn it up loud
Take a few chances
And let it all out
Cause you won't regret it
Lookin back from where you have been
Cause it's not who you knew
And it's not what you did
It's how you lived

Ohhhhh
Wherever you are and wherever you been
Now is the time to begin

To give to the needy
And pray for the grieving
Even when you don't think that you can
Cause all that you do is bound to come back to you
So think of your fellow man
Make peace with God but make peace with yourself
Cause in the end there's nobody else

Turn up the music
Turn it up loud
Take a few chances
And let it all out
Cause you won't regret it
Lookin back from where you have been
Cause it's not who you knew
And it's not what you did
It's how you lived

Cause it's not who you knew and it's not what you did
It's how you lived

Lyrics that Matter: Simple Things - Billy Dean

Simple Things lyrics
Songwriters: Regan, Bob; Teren, George;

I'm no scholar and I'm no philosopher
But I've lived and I've learned a thing or two
It don't help to worry, there's no need to hurry
And it don't take a lot to pull you through

Like your favorite song, a call from home
Or the rain that falls across your windowpane
A season change, the smell of springtime in May

A precious child, a baby's smile
Or your woman's love to keep you warm at night
Oh, you know the simple things can get you through the hardest times

Life's a puzzle and sometimes a struggle
And at times, Lord, it's more than you can take
But look around you, I know, you're bound to
Find somethin' that will brighten up your day

Like your favorite song, a call from home
Or the rain that falls across your windowpane
A season change, the smell of springtime in May

A precious child, a baby's smile
Or your woman's love to keep you warm at night
Oh, you know the simple things can get you through the hardest times

Like a precious child, a baby's smile
Or your woman's love to keep you warm at night
Oh, you know the simple things can get you through the hardest times

Video and Lyrics That Matter: "How You Live" - Point of Grace

There are few songs out there that really make me stop what I'm doing and listen, pay close attention to what they're saying because very few artists these days seem to release these kind of songs anymore, the ones that truly make a statement. This is one of those that grabs my attention each and every time I hear it and actually gives me inspiration and motivation to look back on my life to this point and think about things. Right on the money with this one. Check out Point of Grace at www.pointofgrace.net.

Lyrics that Matter: "Love Is" by Katrina Elam

We're not strong
Enough to bend
We're not strong
Enough to say we can forgive
We may not be brave enough to fall
Oh, and we're not big enough to risk it all

But Love Is...Love is
It's always been, It always will be
We may not be perfect...but love is

We can't trust what we can't see
Were not strong
Enough to fight when we feel weak
We can't resist another flame
Were not able to live above the blame

But love is...Love is
It's always been, It always will be
We may not be perfect...but love is

We may not be ready
Anywhere close to the stars
But wherever we are...Love is
It's always been, it always will be
Life may not be perfect...
Oh, we may not be perfect
Love is

Lyrics of the Day: "Big Blue Sky" - Sarah Buxton and Jedd Hughes

I suppose its time,
To see where this will go,
Let's say all the things we already know,
Let's start making plans,
I want you to see
I ain't got a doubt, You're the only one for me

I'm gonna step up, Gonna stand tall
Im gonna take your hand and understand
when you need a place to fall
Gonna come through, stick up for you
And any time you want to fly,
I will be your Big Blue Sky

This new world is tough,
love can lose its way,
You and I gotta be strong,
Take it day by day
We've got something real,
We can make it last,
I'll give you my word, I'll never take it back

I'm gonna step up, Gonna stand tall
I'm gonna take your hand and understand
when you need a place to fall
Gonna come through, stick up for you
And any time you want to fly,
I will be your Big Blue Sky

Big Blue Sky in your eyes
Big Blue Sky

I'm gonna step up, Gonna stand tall
I'm gonna take your hand and understand
when you need a place to fall
Gonna come through, stick up for you
And any time you want to fly,
I will be your Big Blue Sky
And any time you want to fly,
I will be your Big Blue Sky
