MUSICIANS HALL OF FAME & MUSEUM UNVEILS NEW GLEN CAMPBELL EXHIBIT, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH BIG MACHINE LABEL GROUP AND SURFDOG

Legendary musicians, special guests, and industry executives gathered for a private event at the Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum last week on Thursday, Apr. 18, for the unveiling of the Museum's new Glen Campbell exhibit.

Hosted by the Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum, along with Big Machine Label Group and Surfdog, the event celebrated the release of Glen Campbell Duets - Ghost on the Canvas Sessions, and featured a panel discussion with Julian Raymond, Dave Kaplan, Steve Wariner, Steven Curtis Chapman, Kim Campbell and Cal Campbell.

"When you look around the entire museum, you can see and feel Glen's work in so many of the other exhibits," says Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum's CEO, Linda Chambers. "We talk about the Musicians Hall of Fame representing all genres of music because studio musicians don’t play genres... they just play music."

ALABAMA INDUCTED INTO MUSICIANS HALL OF FAME; RECEIVES FIRST-EVER LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

ALABAMA, the most successful band in the history of country music, has been formally inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame. Last night, October 22, Jeff Cook, Teddy Gentry and Randy Owen were made official members during a commemorative Medallion Ceremony held at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Musicians Hall of Fame founder Joe Chambers welcomed the group to the stage to receive the honor.

"From a band standpoint, I've had to play my own music since we got started. I remember me and Randy, when we were growing up, running across the cotton field in the afternoon, to pick out a new Beatles chord on guitar," said Gentry during the ceremony. "Music was about all we had to lean on and hope for and live for. Our families were so poor and music was that magic thing that held us together."

In addition to the band's induction, it received the Musicians Hall of Fame's first-ever Lifetime Achievement Award.

"This makes all the hours I spent trying to work up the intro to 'Mountain Music' and 'Lady Down on Love' and 'Tennessee River' and 'Face to Face' and those songs that I worked on so long to get the lick, it makes it seem all worthwhile," noted Owen. "I don't know how long I spent on the sound of the guitar in 'My Home's in Alabama,' so it would sound like the whole room was full. Still today when you kick into 'Mountain Music,' the audience knows the song. It came from a lot of work and a lot of thought."

A live concert followed the Medallion Ceremony where country music superstar Jason Aldean honored his musical mentors with live performances of two of ALABAMA's hit songs: "Tennessee River" and "Love in the First Degree." Cook, Gentry and Owen then took the stage to receive their awards and give thanks for the honor.

"I want to thank my wife who has put up with a lot, and also I'd like to thank God," said Cook after receiving his award.

Additional 2019 inductees included Felix Cavaliere, Steve Wariner, The Surfaris (Bob Berryhill, Pat Connolly, Jim Fuller*, Ron Wilson*), Don Everly, The Original Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section (David Briggs, Jerry Carrigan*, Norbert Putnam, Terry Thompson, Earl "Peanutt" Montgomery, Joe South*, Reggie Young*), the Nashville A-Team - The Players (Eddie Bayers, Paul Franklin, John Hobbs, Brent Mason, Michael Rhodes), The Muscle Shoals Horns (Harrison Calloway, Ronnie Eades, Charles Rose, Harvey Thompson), Owen Bradley*, Billy Sherrill and Bob Taylor. Longtime friend and collaborator, Garth Brooks, inducted singer/songwriter/storyteller and multi-instrumentalist, Steve Wariner, into the Musicians Hall of Fame at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville, Tenn Tuesday night after they performed their multi-platinum No. 1 hit "Long Neck Bottle," which Wariner co-wrote.

Wariner wowed the crowds with two instrumental performances that he wrote, including “Nashville Gent,” and “Four Bus Breakdown,” which he crafted for the show. Wariner also sang the ACM and CMA-winning smash “Holes In The Floor Heaven.”
