MIRANDA LAMBERT STARTS COVID-19 RESPONSE FUND TO HELP MUSIC COMMUNITY MEMBERS WITH PETS’ VET BILLS

Miranda Lambert, country music superstar and passionate advocate of shelter pets, announced that her nonprofit, MuttNation, is partnering with the Waggle Foundation to form the MuttNation Fund to help music community members impacted by COVID-19 with their pets' medical bills.

Explaining how the idea came to her, Miranda, who has nine rescue dogs, said, “It really hit home when my backup singer and close friend Gwen’s shelter dog, Earl, became extremely ill in early March, just as the pandemic was taking hold and our tour had to stop. After taking him to several vets, she was told Earl had a rare liver disorder. Then there were multiple hospital stays, relapses, more hospital stays… Earl is doing great now, but he’ll require ongoing treatment for the rest of his life. It was such an unexpected major expense at an already tough time. So, it got me thinking that there must be a lot more people whose careers in the music industry have been on pause due to lack of live performance opportunities, and who are struggling with their pets’ vet bills. Because music and mutts are my two passions, I knew I had to do something and thought that starting this fund would help both the music community that’s been so supportive of me, and their pets.”

Miranda also said that MuttNation chose to partner with Waggle because, “It was the perfect fit for us. They have all the pieces in place and 100% of the donations go directly to their dog or cat’s vet, so everyone can be sure their support goes where it needs to go.”

MuttNation is jumpstarting the Fund with a generous matching grant donation, and the MuttNation Fund at Waggle will be supported and sustained through online donations by caring people who are moved to help after reading the stories about the pet in need on the MuttNation Fund page. 100% of the donations received are sent directly to the pet’s attending veterinarian. If more than enough funds are raised for any one pet, the extra funds rollover into the MuttNation Fund to keep helping more dogs and cats.

Application for the MuttNation Fund is open to anyone who is a member of the broader music community who has a dog or a cat with medical needs and has been impacted by COVID-19. Music community members include musicians, singers, songwriters, engineers, producers, management, music venue staff and other music industry employees. You can apply for support here: https://wagglefoundation.org/muttnation/

For all of Miranda’s great animal-loving fans who are not working members of the music community, Waggle can help you, too! Just go to the Waggle website and find out how to apply – https://waggle.org

MIRANDA LAMBERT'S GONE TO THE DOGS AGAIN THIS YEAR ...

MuttNation Foundation Celebrates “Mutts Across America” For The 2nd Year By Granting More Than $200,000 Dollars To 50 Shelters in 50 States

PRESS RELEASE

Miranda Lambert’s MuttNation Foundation is thrilled to continue their Mutts Across America: 50 States/50 Shelters initiative. A total of $206,000 was distributed to shelters in each of the 50 states in January, with the minimum donation to an individual shelter being $3000. Miranda Lambert said, “I feel so passionately about helping all animals and I’m thrilled that we have once again been able to give to phenomenal shelters all across the country. The people at these shelters do such amazing work day in and day out and are truly heroes for the animals.”

The MuttNation Foundation board worked diligently to find the most deserving shelters in each of the 50 states. MNF does not solicit grant applications. The board researches shelters on their own in order to surprise the selected recipients. The criteria used in the decision to support these shelters were:

• High adoption per intake rate: At least 90% successful adoption rate. Low euthanasia rate
(10%)

• High volunteerism: People rarely jump on/stay on a sinking ship. Do they push volunteerism?

• Fiscally responsible: Do they have low administrative/staff ratios?

• High activity/fundraising: Are they working hard to earn income?

• Any specialties: MNF selected a zoo, a horse sanctuary, disabled pet farm, and an  elderly/senior pet sanctuary, a last chance rescue for animals from other shelters and a blind farm to name a few. What is special about them?

• Presence in the community: Do they work outside of the shelter to adopt out or minister to elderly, schools, etc.?
• Current website: Do they send newsletters? Is their site/Facebook updated? Do they appear to still have the “fire”?

• Spay and neuter push: Are they heavily advocating/helping in spay and neuter campaigns, clinics and activities?

• Reasonable adoption hours: Are they open on weekends, nights, and/or weekdays? How many hours?

As explained by MNF co-founder Bev Lambert, “In October 2014 we took over our first owned and operated shelter in Tishomingo, OK, Redemption Ranch. Prior to that, we didn’t operate a shelter but we adhered to the belief that we should “hold up the arms” of those who do. We are fortunate enough to have the funding again this year to continue this initiative which is so important. We believe the selected shelters stand as examples in the fight to end animal homelessness, abuse and neglect, as well as encouraging adoption, spay and neuter programs and avoiding needless euthanasia.”

MNF continues to support their partners in animal rescue at The American Humane Association and Northshore Animal League as well as Miranda's home town shelters, Redemption Ranch in OK and Pet Fur People in East Texas. A complete list of the shelters that received donations is available at MuttNationFoundation.

MuttNation Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization and all contributions are 100% tax deductible; it has raised over $1.5 M the past seven years. To donate please visit: MuttNationFoundation. Miranda and her mother, Bev, make every effort to ensure that your hard-earned dollars are going to spay and neuter efforts, medical treatments, adoptions, preventions, transportation, legislative changes, and education. By contributing, you are making a difference to end animal cruelty, neglect, and homelessness.

Grammy® winner and dog ‘mother’ to seven rescue dogs, Miranda Lambert, has donated proceeds from her show at the Route 91 Harvest Festival to her 7th annual charity event, “Cause for the Paws,” to benefit her beloved MuttNation Foundation. The event brought in a total of $628,148, which is put to good use in helping furry friends all across the country.

“I always have a great time in Vegas, but being able to save dogs along the way was probably the best,” Miranda said. “Getting to do what I love and help the cause that’s closest to my heart, and do it in Vegas; it doesn’t get any better. With the money raised, I am looking forward to seeing lots of dogs find loving forever homes through adoption.”

The Route 91 Harvest Festival was held at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on October 3rd, 4th and 5th, and featured fellow superstar headliners, Blake Shelton and Jason Aldean.
This year's “Cause for the Paws” event included a sold out VIP cocktail party; complete with a live and silent auction with items from Blake Shelton, Miranda, Live Nation and MGM Resorts (which raised more than $60,000). There was also an online eBay auction.
MNF co-founder, Bev Lambert explains, “Miranda and I were a bit apprehensive about moving the 7th Annual Cause For The Paws from our homes states of Texas and Oklahoma into Las Vegas. As our long time sponsors signed on in record time and the tickets for the 1st Harvest Festival began to sell out we started to feel like this year may indeed be worthy of the name - Lucky 7! We stand amazed at the support that her fans, friends and sponsors continue to show as they join hands with us to help shelter pets across the US. We both continue our pledge to be watchful over every penny donated.”
The money raised from “Cause for the Paws” will be used for a variety of initiatives throughout the coming year including to finish work on and fund Redemption Ranch, the first MuttNation Foundation owned and operated shelter, which will be opening in Tishomingo, OK on November 22nd.
In addition, on Sunday, October 26th starting at noon MuttNation Foundation will partner with the Humane Society of Tulsa to host their FIRST Muttoberfest (at 6232 E. 60th Street in Tulsa, OK).   Over 100 dogs and cats (all of whom have been vaccinated, tested and spayed and neutered) rescued by MuttNation Foundation will be available for adoption.
MNF will also be continuing their very successful Mutts Across America: 50 States/50 Shelters initiative. Operating under the premise that fans, friends, colleagues and benefactors across the US have sown into MuttNation Foundation, last year they selected a shelter in each of the 50 states to lend a financial hand and will do so again this year.
They will also continue their support for Pets Fur People (petsfurpeople.org), which is the former home of Miranda’s first shelter pet, Delilah, and the start of Cause For The Paws in Tyler, TX.

MIRANDA LAMBERT TO AID IN ANIMAL RESCUE EFFORTS IN OKLAHOMA

Miranda Lambert‘s soft spot for animals is well known in country music circles. The singer has her own animal rescue organization, and she’s agreed to pitch in to help take care of the many animals displaced by the devastating tornado which hit Moore, Oklahoma on Monday (May 20).

The deadly twister tore through the town, destroying homes and even striking two elementary schools. The death toll was feared to be over 100, but officials later lowered that estimate to a confirmed 24. But there’s really no way of knowing how many pets have been dislocated or injured in the wake of the disaster, and according to Oklahoma's News on 6, Oklahoma Secretary of Agriculture Jim Reese reached out to Lambert for help.

The singer founded her MuttNation Foundation in 2009. Its Facebook page reports the foundation is “a donation-supported organization working to end pet suffering and homelessness in the U.S. and abroad.” Supported by a mix of private donations and fundraising efforts, MuttNation Foundation’s goal is “to ensure that every single dollar donated assists animals in need.”

Lambert’s organization is partnering with Red Star Rescue and North Shore Animal League to deploy two mobile pet rescue units, which were expected to arrive in Moore on Wednesday (May 22). The units will treat animals for injuries and shelter them before helping transport them to permanent locations.

“I’m so proud that MuttNation Foundation can help even a little,” the singer wrote on her Facebook page on Thursday.
