“A LITTLE RIGHT NOW”: CHARLES ESTEN SEARCHES FOR FAITH IN NEXT RELEASE OFF DEBUT ALBUM

DIGS IN ON THE EMOTIONAL ANTHEM
WITH AMERICAN SONGWRITER HERE
HEADLINING NASHVILLE’S
3RD AND LINDSLEY ON JUNE 8
“NASHVILLE” THE REUNION TOUR ADDS U.S. DATES AHEAD OF IN-DEMAND INTERNATIONAL TREK WITH NASHVILLE’S RYMAN AUDITORIUM ON SEPTEMBER 25

Charles Esten captures a crisis of faith in his next release, “A Little Right Now,” off his forthcoming debut album. The single is available today across all streaming platforms and digital retailers here

First announcing the song with CMT Hot 20 Countdown host Cody Alan live from the aqua carpet at the 2023 CMT MUSIC AWARDS earlier this month in Austin, TX (watch here – start 53:34), Esten recently dug in with American Songwriter on the special nuances of the emotional anthem, from the inspiration behind the Esten, Jacob Lyda, and Brian Maher-penned track, to its distinctive tuning – read more here.

“Everybody, in all walks of life, finds themselves at a point in time when they’re not feeling the faith they used to feel, whether it’s a faith in a greater power, in God, faith in their own abilities, or faith in things working out,” Esten shared with American Songwriter. “There are things that are out of your hands, and that’s where faith comes in—but sometimes, you’re just not feeling it.”

Looking to a higher power, “A Little Right Now” surrenders to the heavens as it arrives like a weary, Roots-rocking prayer. Wrapped in comparative and contrasting metaphors – from a farmer waiting on rain, to a dreamer whose ship has yet to come in – the gut-wrenching story finds a main character pleading for the strength to carry on, and desperate for something to give, but even with hope fading fast still strong enough to ask for more and knowing just where to turn. Produced by Marshall Altman with reverb-soaked guitars, a slow-burning gospel organ, and the raw, unvarnished vocal of honesty, he slowly builds back the spirit to face life – head on, and without giving an inch.

Showing yet another facet of Esten’s long-awaited full-length project, he first introduced the album with “One Good Move.” With high-profile appearances on NBC’s The Kelly Clarkson Show and CBS’ THE TALK, “the deeply personal power ballad” was hailed by Billboard, with MusicRow urging, “Lend him your ears.” As featured by Entertainment Tonight, CMT, and more, E! News further claimed it “proves the power of one good move.”

Readying to bring these new songs to the stage, tickets are on sale now for Esten’s headlining show at 3rd and Lindsley in Nashville, TN, on June 8. Click here for additional details. Likewise, tickets are selling fast as “NASHVILLE” The Reunion Tour will play Rosemont Theatre in Chicago, IL, on September 23 and the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN, on September 25, before kicking off a U.K. run that’s seen overwhelming demand and SOLD-OUT shows. After a five-year hiatus from touring in the U.S. as a collective, “NASHVILLE” The Reunion Tour finds Esten, Clare Bowen, Jonathan Jackson, and Sam Palladio performing classic songs from the hit series, as well as their own original material. ERIC CHURCH’S "CHIEF’S" COMING TO DOWNTOWN NASHVILLE

Six Story Property at the Corner of Broadway & 2nd Avenue to Include an Intimate Seated Music Venue, Rodney Scott’s Whole Hog BBQ Rooftop Restaurant and More

Multi-Platinum superstar Eric Church has partnered with real estate and hospitality entrepreneur Ben Weprin as co-owners of new six-story property Chief’s at the corner of 2nd Avenue and Broadway in downtown Nashville, with plans to begin renovating the food, beverage and live entertainment space this year.

“I remember driving through downtown Nashville over 20 years ago with a pawn shop guitar, riding shotgun in a beat-to-hell truck just trying to chase a dream,” reflects Church. “Chief’s is the culmination of catching that dream. Like everything else we do in our career, I wouldn’t even attempt a project like this if I didn’t think it would be the best, so that’s what Chief’s will be: the best.”

With Esquire praising Church as “one of the most singular working artists in any genre,” and Stereogum celebrating him as “one of the biggest touring musicians on earth,” the critically acclaimed entertainer’s passion for live music will be on full display with an intimate seated music venue within the space. His roots in the Carolinas will also be reflected on the rooftop of the former Cotton Eyed Joe building, with renowned Charleston pitmaster and James Beard Award winner Rodney Scott bringing his Whole Hog BBQ to Music City.

“I am beyond excited to not only bring Rodney Scott’s Whole Hog BBQ to Music City, but to also partner with my good friends Eric and Ben on this project,” says Scott. “Anyone who knows me, knows that I love music – so the opportunity to expand the brand in partnership with an award-winning musician makes this project extra special! I can't wait to share our Carolina roots and our whole hog BBQ with the incredible people of Nashville.”

Church, who set the Nissan Stadium concert attendance record of 56,521 across the river from where Chief’s will stand, has been closely involved in the planning process for the venue, which will reflect his storied career of 30 Gold, Platinum and multi-Platinum singles – from his Sinners Like Me debut through current Top 15-and-climbing single “Heart On Fire” and beyond.

“Bringing a seated music venue to Lower Broadway while revitalizing and preserving a historic building is exactly the kind of investment Nashville’s entertainment sector needs,” notes Mayor John Cooper. “I thank the partners involved for keeping the character of the building while creating a new concept for locals and our visitors to enjoy.”

“Pairing Eric’s talent and passion for music and his work ethic with a new restaurant, bar, performance hall and more downtown is a recipe for success,” adds Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp CEO Butch Spyridon. “The fact that he is doing this in a historic building that will transform the gateway to historic Second Avenue is truly a bonus as that street recovers from 2020’s unfortunate incident.”

“I am partnering with my closest friend and, in my opinion, the greatest hotel entrepreneur on earth, Ben Weprin, and the greatest barbecue chef in the world, Rodney Scott,” continues Church. “Together we will create an experience unique to Nashville and absolutely unparalleled in the world of music, food, fellowship and entertainment. This is my hometown. This is personal. This matters. Every detail of Chief’s will feel that way. I cannot wait to get started. See you in 2023.”

In addition to launching Chief’s, Church is currently playing in-the-round arena shows across the U.S. and Canada on The Gather Again Tour. Tickets to all dates, including the U.S. finale at New York City’s iconic Madison Square Garden, are on sale now at EricChurch.com. All tour dates will enforce local venue and/or city guidelines regarding COVID-19 precautions and Church is touring with a fully vaccinated crew.

For more information, visit www.ericchurch.com and follow on Facebook and Twitter @ericchurch and Instagram @ericchurchmusic. Fans can also download the Eric Church Official App for exclusive offers only available on tour – including seat upgrades, contests and special merchandise – all while connecting with fellow fans from around the world.

CONNIE BRITTON AND CHARLES ESTEN JOIN DAN RATHER IN THE AXS TV EXCLUSIVE ‘THE BIG INTERVIEW: NASHVILLE SPECIAL EDITION’ ON TUESDAY, SEPT. 22 AT 8pE

The Special Airs in Conjunction with the Network Premiere of the Hit Drama NASHVILLE on Saturday, Sept. 26, Featuring Three Back-To-Back Episodes Starting at 8pE

As Part of the Premiere Event, Episodes will Air with Limited Commercial Interruption for Four Weeks, Every Saturday from Sept. 26 through Oct. 17

AXS TV kicks off its countdown to the network premiere of NASHVILLE with an all-new episode of THE BIG INTERVIEW: NASHVILLE SPECIAL EDITION, hosted by legendary newsman Dan Rather and featuring series stars Connie Britton and Charles Esten. The exclusive event, set to air on Tuesday, September 22, at 8pE, premieres in advance of the AXS TV debut of the hit country music drama, launching on Saturday, September 26 at 8pE. Each week will feature three back-to-back episodes, with encore airings every Saturday evening at 11pE and Tuesday evenings at 9pE. As part of the premiere festivities, AXS TV will air the NASHVILLE episodes with limited commercial interruption for the first four Saturdays, from September 26 through October 17.

During the half-hour special, Rather visits the set of NASHVILLE, sitting down with Connie Britton and Charles Esten for a lively discussion spanning the first three seasons of the show, and giving viewers a sense of what they can expect going forward. In separate segments, Rather speaks with an enthusiastic Britton about what it’s like to play country music legend Rayna Jaymes, whom she describes as a strong businesswoman who has the wisdom and experience to thrive in the ever-changing music industry. Britton also touches on the show’s inspiring message, and opens up about what made her want to be a part of NASHVILLE. “I was so excited about the idea of this world,” said Britton. “I was also very excited about the idea of singing, which I hadn’t done in many years. I was actively seeking doing things that would challenge me and be different from what I had been doing before, and felt risky and felt a little scary. I decided that it would be kind of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and that’s how it happened.”

Sitting down with Charles Esten, Rather covers a variety of topics including the show’s tremendous authenticity, and the way his role allows him to work within his two passions—acting and music. On why he enjoys playing his character, the troubled Deacon Claybourne, Esten says, “He's nobody's hero, because he fails constantly. And what he does is he just keeps pickin' himself back up and tryin' to be a better man the next day. Tryin' to be who he thinks he could be.” Esten feels a responsibility not only to the character, but to the show’s loyal audience, who have developed a strong connection to Deacon and his struggles, explaining, “They're not just plot points for people. They're what people are living. So it raises a desire in you to really do it justice.” The candid conversation also touches upon Esten’s personal life, his dedicated charity work, and his daughter’s battle with leukemia that he credits with helping him to put the truly important things in life into perspective. Esten also sings a few heartfelt bars of his favorite song from the show—the moving ballad, “A Life That’s Good,” co-written by country phenom Ashley Monroe.

Set in the heart of Music City, NASHVILLE follows the lives of a group of recording artists dealing with the highs and lows of making it in the cutthroat music industry. Britton stars as Rayna Jaymes—an industry icon fighting to stay on top as a new generation of stars, led by Hayden Panettiere’s talented and troubled songstress Juliette Barnes, light up the charts. In addition to its dramatic storylines and memorable performances, NASHVILLE has attracted a wide array of guest appearances from some of the biggest names in entertainment, including Christina Aguilera, Florida Georgia Line, Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Brad Paisley, Luke Bryan, Wyclef Jean, Katie Couric, and Conan O’Brien, just to name a few. AXS TV acquired the exclusive primetime cable rights to the first three seasons of NASHVILLE in June, after reaching a multi-year licensing agreement with the Disney-ABC Television Group.

“THE BIG INTERVIEW: NASHVILLE SPECIAL EDITION is the perfect primer for AXS TV’s NASHVILLE premiere event,” said Michele M. Dix, AXS TV’s senior vice president, programming and development. “Whether viewers are visiting NASHVILLE for the first time, or just want to relive the intense drama and show-stopping musical numbers, they won’t want to miss this exclusive backstage pass as Dan Rather gives them an intimate look at one of the most captivating series on television, led by two of its biggest stars.”

NASHVILLE is produced by Lionsgate, ABC Studios and Opry Entertainment. Dee Johnson (“Boss,” “The Good Wife”), Callie Khouri (“Thelma & Louise”) and Steve Buchanan are executive producers of the series.

ABC “NASHVILLE” STAR CHRIS CARMACK MAKES #CMAFEST2015 DEBUT WITH ORIGINAL MUSIC TOPPING CRITICS’ “BEST OF” LISTS

Actor/Musician Presented With The First-Ever “RALY” Award At
Inaugural “Concert for Love and Acceptance”

Photo Credit: Chris Garrett / CMA

NASHVILLE, TN (June 19, 2015) – Last week was noteworthy for Chris Carmack, star of ABC’s hit series “Nashville,” as he made his CMA Music Festival debut and performed at two major fundraisers: the inaugural “Concert for Love and Acceptance,” co-sponsored by Ty Herndon and GLAAD and Craig Wiseman’s “Stars for Second Harvest.” By week’s end, the positive reviews of Carmack’s live show amassed, solidifying the established actor as a standout musician.

Early reviews include:

“Carmack is a wicked good guitar player”
– VINCE GILL

“30 Best Things We Saw At CMA Fest: Best Blue-Eyed Blues: Chris Carmack…Any notion that ‘Nashville’ co-star Chris Carmack was just another actor dabbling in music were obliterated…The highlight proved to be his heartfelt tribute to B.B. King…with Carmack showing off some greasy guitar licks and a soulful yearning voice.”
 – ROLLING STONE

“Carmack showed a musical command and conviction in his set that outstrips what he has been able to transmit through the TV show and its soundtracks. There’s a built-in prejudice against actors jumping into music, but he deserves to be taken seriously.”
- BILLBOARD

“Two of the Top 10 Moments at the 2015 CMA Music Festival: “Chris Carmack at Belk Park Stage” and “The Concert for Love and Acceptance” – “Carmack]showed off his impressive vocal and guitar chops, ripping through his own originals, due out later this year on an EP, as well as a cover of the late B.B. King’s ‘Sweet Little Angel.’”
 – BOSTON GLOBE

On June 12, Carmack joined co-hosts Ty Herndon and Meghan McCain for the inaugural “Concert for Love and Acceptance” in support of LGBT acceptance in the community. Prior to his set, Carmack was surprised on stage when he received the first-ever “RALY” (“Rescue A Life Y’all”) award for his influential work portraying “Will Lexington,” an afflicted gay country artist, on “Nashville.”

The following day (6/13), Carmack made his CMA Music Festival debut drawing a vast crowd. His set included the “Will Lexington” hit, “What If I Was Willing,” and originals from Carmack’s forthcoming EP, PIECES YOU, including the title track, “Being Alone” and “Holding My Breath.” As a fan and student of Jazz & Blues, he also performed a tribute to the late B.B. King, the legendary singer’s “Sweet Little Angel.” Watch a clip of the captivating performance here. During his set, he played an electric guitar he handmade and his treasured 1956 Martin d-28 acoustic guitar.

Carmack’s debut song “Being Alone,” is available now on iTunes. The passion-driven track will be featured on his forthcoming EP, PIECES OF YOU, written solely by Carmack and produced by GRAMMY Award-winner Ben Fowler (Lynyrd Skynyrd) and Phoenix Mendoza. Gearing up for the fourth season of “Nashville,” he has been featured on THE MUSIC OF NASHVILLE soundtracks in addition to performing on the 2014 and 2015 “Nashville” concert tours. ABC’s “Nashville” has received nominations for Golden Globe, Primetime Emmy, People’s Choice, Teen Choice and Critics’ Choice Television awards.

The Washington D.C. native, who grew playing saxophone at a young age, turned his attention towards jazz band and theatre in high school. Upon graduating, he studied at NYU’s esteemed Tisch Adler Conservatory before heading out to Los Angeles where he helped launch the theatrical production of “The Day I Stood Still.” Carmack would spend his off-time practicing guitar, which would later come in handy for his role on "Nashville." His performance in “The Day I Stood Still” attracted the attention of the producers from the hit drama “The O.C.,” who cast him as “Luke Ward” in the series in 2003. After completing his work on the show, Carmack returned to the stage in NY at the Roundabout Theatre Company, where he took on the role of “Sloane” in “Entertaining Mr. Sloane,” alongside Alec Baldwin and Jan Maxwell. He also performed in London, playing John Buchanan in Tennessee Williams’ “Summer and Smoke.”

Written solely by Carmack, the cleverly crafted song captures the lonely, raw side of finding one’s direction in life and gives fans a glimpse into what they can expect from PIECES OF YOU, produced by GRAMMY Award-winner Ben Fowler (Lynyrd Skynyrd) and Phoenix Mendoza.

“‘Being Alone’ is about a young person’s solitary struggle to discover his own identity while trying to adhere to the stifling plans and expectations of others,” shared Carmack. “The entire EP is comprised of songs I wrote when I was in Los Angeles trying to do just that: find my identity in a world that had no shortage of opinions about who I should be."

Recently, the star hit the Stagecoach Festival in Indio, CA, performing songs from the series in addition to announcing the imminent release of his debut EP to the crowd’s excitement. Yahoo! Ram Country recapped Carmack’s performance exclaiming, “Not just vocally but, just possibly, as a songwriter, boy has got the goods.” Billboard previously included the artist in their “Bubbling Under” section highlighting new and noteworthy acts.

In addition to his well-received Stagecoach Festival appearance last week, Carmack appeared on ABC’s “The View” with Aubrey Peeple’s on April 29 performing “If Your Heart Can Handle It” from "Nashville." Later that day and the following, he joined the rest of his cast mates for two sold-out shows in NYC to kick off the eight-city NASHVILLE tour. The tour runs through May 10 with additional stops in Philadelphia, Boston, Washington D.C., Chicago, Minneapolis, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Phoenix. Following the tour, he will perform solo in Sioux City and West Des Moines, IA on May 15-16. On June 13, he’ll make his CMA Fest debut on the Belk Park Stage in Nashville.

Accomplished actor and singer Chris Carmack is best known for his role as charming “Will Lexington” on ABC’s critically-acclaimed, Golden Globe, Primetime Emmy, People’s Choice and Critics’ Choice Television Award-nominated series “Nashville.” The Washington D.C. native, who grew up playing saxophone at a young age, turned his attention towards jazz band and theatre in high school. Upon graduating, he studied at NYU’s esteemed Tisch Adler Conservatory before heading out to Los Angeles where he helped launch the theatrical production of “The Day I Stood Still.” Carmack would spend his off-time practicing guitar, which would later come in handy for his role on "Nashville." His performance in “The Day I Stood Still” attracted the attention of the producers from the hit drama “The O.C.,” who cast him as Luke Ward in the series in 2003. After completing his work on the show, Carmack returned to the stage in NY at the Roundabout Theatre Company, where he took on the role of “Sloane” in “Entertaining Mr. Sloane,” alongside Alec Baldwin and Jan Maxwell. He also performed in London, playing John Buchanan in Tennessee Williams’ “Summer and Smoke.” In 2013, Carmack was cast as a charming, closeted, country music heartthrob in “Nashville.” With the series wrapping up its third season, Carmack has been featured on THE MUSIC OF NASHVILLE soundtracks in addition to performing on the 2014 and 2015 NASHVILLE tours.

PRESS RELEASE

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (Apr. 23, 2015) – Nashville Mayor Karl Dean and Live Nation announced today that on July 30, seven-time GRAMMY nominee Eric Church will be the inaugural performer for Music City’s new Ascend Amphitheater in Riverfront Park.

Recently ranked No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard Hot Tours chart for his successful “The Outsiders World Tour” which continues through this summer, Church will give a rare solo concert performance with just his guitar, giving fans a unique experience from when he set a new venue attendance record of 18,441 at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena earlier this year in January. Tickets will go on sale at Ticketmaster next Thursday, Apr. 30 at 10:00 AM (CT).

“The newest addition to Music City’s live music scene will get off to a great start with a concert from Eric Church, who represents what’s great about Music City,” Mayor Dean said. “His songs can’t be confined to just one genre; he draws from country, rock and other types of music that help make the scene here in Nashville so vibrant and eclectic.”

Named one of the “50 Greatest Live Acts Right Now” by Rolling Stone, the EMI Nashville recording artist "... is arguably both the mainstream country artist of the year and the mainstream rock artist of the year and his show made a case for that blend” proclaimed the Memphis Commercial Appeal when reviewing his concert late last year. “

The CMA and four-time ACM Award winner finished 2014 as country music’s top-selling artist, with the year’s highest debut and sales of any release in the format as the critical and commercial success The Outsiders reached Platinum status, marking more than one million albums sold. Debuting at No. 1 on both the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart and Top Country Albums chart, The Outsiders garnered GRAMMY, CMA, and ACM Top Album nominations and features his No.1 hits “Give Me Back My Hometown” and “Talladega” as well as his current single “Like A Wrecking Ball.”

The Outsiders is the follow-up to Church’s Platinum-certified Chief, (named the 2012 Album of the Year by both CMA and ACM, and GRAMMY-nominated for Best Country Album) which featured five Top 20 singles: “Homeboy” (certified Platinum for sales in excess of one million singles); the Top 10 “Like Jesus Does” and the Top 5 “Creepin’” (both certified Gold for sales in excess of 500,000 singles each); and two No. 1 hits “Drink in My Hand” (certified Platinum) and “Springsteen” (certified Double Platinum for sales in excess of two million singles). Church’s 2006 debut album, Sinners Like Me (2006) and his sophomore album Carolina (2009) are both RIAA Gold-certified. Carolina had three hit singles: the Top 10 “Hell on the Heart” as well as Top 20 hit “Smoke A Little Smoke” and Top 10 smash “Love Your Love The Most,” which were both certified Gold. Sinners Like Me spawned three Top 20 singles: “How ‘Bout You,” “Two Pink Lines,” and “Guys Like Me.”

Inviting fans to the free show via Twitter and Facebook, a massive crowd of 20,000 plus gathered to see the chart-topping vocalist perform and attend the largest #1 party ever held at BMI. Reaching maximum capacity, fans lined the streets of Music Row and tailgated in nearby parking lots throughout the evening.

The festivities kicked off with new trio The Cadillac Three warming up the crowd followed by an onstage #1 celebration for Jake’s “Anywhere With You,” co-written by Ben Hayslip, Jimmy Yeary and David Lee Murphy. Playing for over two hours, Jake delivered an electrifying performance and quickly became a trending topic on Twitter. As revealed earlier in the day, special guests Florida Georgia Line, Dierks Bentley, Thomas Rhett, and Dee Jay Silver joined Jake onstage to show their support for him.
