NEAL MCCOY RETURNS WITH NEW CD, XII, DUE OUT MARCH 6

Produced by reigning CMA Male and Female Vocalist of the Year, Blake Shelton
and Miranda Lambert, and Guitar Slinger, Brent Rowan

Nashville, TN (February 20, 2012) - Returning to country music after a five year-hiatus multi-platinum recording artist Neal McCoy’s highly anticipated new album, XII, will be released March 6, 2012. Produced by CMA’s reigning Male and Female Vocalist of the Year, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert, and renowned guitar-slinger, Brent Rowan, this Blaster Records’ debut is McCoy’s 12th studio album. Already creating a buzz amongst top media outlets, McCoy’s upcoming television appearances include a satellite media tour in New York, and segments on “Hannity,” “Huckabee,” “411 Live,” and “Better TV,” to name a few. Plus, McCoy returns to host GAC’s highly-rated, Top 50 Videos of the 2000s, debuting February 20, 2012.

“Neal is not only a friend of mine, but my hero,” commented Blake Shelton about working with McCoy on XII. “Our first priority with this album was that Neal only cut songs that he truly loved and was excited about. That was very important to us.” Miranda Lambert added, “It was a blast seeing Neal and Blake together…had the place laughing all the time. I think fans will hear three different artists coming together on this album with their individual takes on the music.”

Some of Nashville’s best writers—including Tom Douglas, Rivers Rutherford, Jamey Johnson, Allen Shamblin, Rhett Akins, and newcomers Luke Laird, Brett Eldredge, Geroge Terren and Barry Dean, came forward to contribute their very best songs. The end result from the ‘consummate live performer’ is a new collection that offers a little something for every listener. From the bouncy, bright, feel good single, “A-OK,” (featuring Lambert and Shelton on background vocals), to the infectious bar-room, toe-tapper, “Shotgun Rider,” to the engaging ballad, “Judge a Man by the Woman,” and classic, “Van Gogh,” the project is chock full of good music.

“It’s like my shows, a little bit of everything that makes music special,” said McCoy. “XII has a little bit of church, a little bit of bar-room, a couple ballads that’ll encourage, and a real Texas thing about finding your groove in the midst of heartbreak with a cold beer and a good jukebox.” Blake and Miranda had definite ideas about what this should be – you almost couldn’t hold ‘em back.”

Recently listed as one of the Top 10 USO Tour Entertainers since the organization’s inception in 1941 (at number eight, between John Wayne and Marilyn Monroe), it has been 21 years since McCoy released his first single. Since that time, he has released 11 albums, had five #1 singles, over 25 charted singles, had a string of top ten radio hits, sold over 6 million albums all while completing over 15 USO tours and supporting the East Texas Angels Network, his charity for children with life-threatening illnesses.

Neal McCoy Single “A-OK” Digital Release on Oct. 18th

Project Produced by Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert & Brent Rowan

Neal McCoy - "A-Ok"

Nashville, TN (October 17, 2011) -- Blaster Records recording artist and multi-platinum singer, Neal McCoy, will release the first single off his twelfth career album, XII, on Oct. 18th. “A-OK,” coordinated through a recent distribution deal between Blaster Records and Warner Music Nashville, along with Rodeowave Entertainment at the helm of radio promotion, will be launched exclusively for digital download, available at all digital retailers.

In the 21 years since the ‘consummate live performer’ released his first single, Neal McCoy has had his share of feel good radio records. With over 25 charted singles, five #1 hits, two BMI Song of the Year awards with “Wink” and “The Shake,” and a whole lot of fun along the way, the entertainer has spent the better part of two decades chasing ‘that song.’

With “A-OK,” McCoy’s quest may be complete. “Everybody wants to find that song that hits the sweet spot, which is pretty much them, but everybody else, too. I think I finally found that song!,” McCoy explains.

With its bouncing beat, bright melody, and yes, pure Andy Griffith whistle, along with the Barry Dean/Luke Laird/Brett Eldredge mid-tempo and happy-go-lucky flow, the song about seeing the glass as half-full and the smile upside down in a frown, is the perfect culmination of McCoy’s always effervescent live show and ever energetic image as an entertainer. “I think any song that says ‘It’s gonna be okay, it’s gonna be alright…’ and feels like this one does, has got to be a winner. People really want to hear, and almost need to hear, that right now…Times being the way they are, and something that makes people feel good? Well, anyone who knows me knows I’m all about that,” explains the good timin’ entertainer.

Neal McCoy has sold over 6 million albums. His entrance into the country music world was championed by Hall of Famer Charley Pride, and his return is being orchestrated by CMA Entertainer of the Year nominee and reigning Male Vocalist of the Year Blake Shelton, CMA/ACM Album, Single and Female Vocalist of the Year Miranda Lambert, and longtime guitar great Brent Rowan. McCoy’s highly anticipated and twelfth studio album, XII, is set for a first quarter 2012 release.

Neal McCoy Returns to the Sales Floor on GAC’s “Day Jobs” Oct. 16th

The Multi-Platinum Country Singer Reflects on Early Days as Women’s Shoe Salesman

Nashville, TN (October 13, 2011) – Before two-time Entertainer of the Year and platinum singer, Neal McCoy, made it big in country music with eleven career albums, three of them platinum and one gold, and over 25 charted singles with five #1’s, amongst numerous other accolades to his name, the entertainer got his start on another stage performing to a much different crowd. Returning for a day in his previously held role as a Longview, TX based shoe salesman, specializing in women’s footwear, Neal McCoy reflects on his pre-country entertainer nine-to-five lifestyle in Day Jobs, airing on Great American Country (GAC) October 16th, at 8:00pm EST/7:00pm CST.

In Day Jobs, many of today’s top country stars step back in time, putting in a full day’s work at a job they held before making it big. Each one-hour episode will follow three stars as they work a shift in a variety of previously held jobs. In the process, they will discover if they still have what it takes and at the same time, come to realize just how much those early jobs helped shape their lives today.

Taking a glance back from his present day career, to his days as a young singer living in Longview, TX, McCoy supported the beginning stages of his dreams of being an entertainer by finding additional work in a local department store selling women’s shoes, a job he would hold for three years. It was in this role that the aspiring entertainer first came into contact with the general public. "It's good grooming for you. In the music business, you have to deal with different folks every day, different personalities all the time.," McCoy notes.

And even in his early days, the relentless entertainer never let his optimistic and charismatic persona slip, telling himself, "I'm gonna try to win them over. I want them to like me and I’m gonna work until they are entertained,” a motivational policy that McCoy would command from his live performances all throughout his long and illustrious career, a career that would produce such country hits as “Wink,” “The Shake,” and his current single “A-OK,” available at all digital retailers Oct. 18th, 2011.

In this episode of Day Jobs, you’ll see Neal McCoy bring that determination and spirit back to the sales floor when he literally goes toe to toe with co-worker and top Belk department store women’s shoe salesmen, Joe, to see who will be the top dog when the store doors close.

Although McCoy has toured thousands of miles and entertained thousands of people throughout the years, returning to the sales floor granted McCoy yet another unique experience, the chance to glance back at the life he once lived, as well as the ability to look into the life that may have been. But whatever the turnout of the early days of his career may or may not have been, McCoy remains determined that his life always belonged in music, and his heart, forever the heart of an entertainer working with people. Told best in his own words, McCoy explains, “I'd probably be in some job working with the public. I'm a people person, and if I wasn't singing for a living, I'd still find a way to sing.”

Try it on for yourself this Sunday as Neal McCoy brings his charismatic presence and witty charm back to the sales floor on GAC’s Day Jobs.
