THE KENTUCKY HEADHUNTERS RETURN - "THAT’S A FACT, JACK!"

All-New Twelve Track Album Set to Release on Oct. 22; Pre-Order HERE

Today, GRAMMY® Award-winning southern rock, blues and country group The Kentucky Headhunters announced their latest album, That’s A Fact Jack!, set to release on Oct. 22 via BFD / Audium Nashville. The upcoming project marks the Headhunters' first album of brand new material in half a decade.

Blame it on the shutdown. When The Kentucky Headhunters watched their 2020 dates go up in smoke, they knew with or without live dates, they’re a band, and bands have to play. After a half century of coming together at Mama Effie's Practice House, first as Itchy Brother, then The Kentucky Headhunters, as well as watching next generation hard rockers Black Stone Cherry come into their own sound, the idea of not making music wasn’t something they could stomach.

“We’re a band,” says guitarist/vocalist Richard Young. “We play. When all our shows got cancelled, we decided we were gonna go up to the Practice House and play. Then we figured we might as well go into the studio, but instead of having an agenda or some idea of ‘what’ was this supposed to be, we all looked at each other and went, ‘Well, what do you do? ’No discussions, no trying to be something. Just ‘What do you want to play?’”

From the first drum crack and building pound of the title track, “That’s A Fact, Jack,” there’s a plea to come to our senses, drill down and find ways to come together. That notion of coming together informs the hip-checking shuffle of “How Could I,” a more personally beseeching song of apology and fixing it with some searing guitar and a tumbling backbeat.

Indeed, That’s A Fact Jack! may be The Kentucky Headhunters' most coherent, yet eclectic album ever. Whether the creeping blues-burner “Gonna Be Alright,” the sinewy, sensuous “Susannah,” the slow turn reckoning “We Belong Together” or the dynamic minimalist reflection “Watercolors In the Rain,” the Heads continue sowing the good vibes, the better guitar sounds and enough groove to keep the room rocking.

Blame it on England. When The Kentucky Headhunters were growing up, the Rock & Roll coming across “the pond” – hard rock bands Led Zeppelin, CREAM, Cactus and the Rolling Stones, as well as the Beatles, Kinks and Faces – made its way to Edmonton, Kentucky where Richard and Fred Young and their cousin Greg Martin were raised. It also permeated the Missouri bootheel, where Doug Phelps, who was born in Leachville, Arkansas, grew up.

“Susannah” was first inspired from the passing of one of Phelps' long time musical influences and eventual friend, Levon Helm, drummer and vocalist for The Band. “He and I were both born in Arkansas and I always felt a connection to him because of that,” he says. “It hit me pretty hard when I heard of Levon’s passing and I just kept hearing him sing ‘Ophelia’ in my head. That led me to singing ‘Susannah’ in its place and once that started, the story fell into place for me and I couldn’t write the lyrics down fast enough!"

The Merseybeat-steeped “Cup of Tea” draws on a time long gone, but somehow feels fresh and sparkling in the innocence of drummer Fred Young’s raw-boned vocal delivery. The drummer brother also contributes a full-frontal take on Rick Derringer’s “Cheap Tequila,” equally redolent of a time when rock was wild, untamed and elegantly squalid.

Blame it on nostalgia. But only the most frisky, vital sense. When the Heads converged on Barrick Record Studio in Glasgow, Kentucky, they were amazed at how fluid and fun these sessions were. Richard Young admits, “To be honest, this band plays everything... and we just decided to play everything we loved. T.J. Lyle from the (Georgia) Thunderbolts was up visiting. We got to writing lyrics to some of these songs."

“Shotgun Effie,” with its seek-and-destroy guitar riff and hammer down drumming, was Itchy Brothers very first single. Still in high school, it was the first record the boys put out, and nearly fifty years later, this raging ode to a silver-haired leadfoot, Grandmother Effie, is every bit as raucous and fun.

“Don’t worry about the labels, man," says Richard Young. "How’s it make you feel? If you ask me, this is modern society Southern Rock & Roll. It’s for the times and the people. It’s all the influences and all the things we love, all the things with no borders or worrying about what doesn’t fit.”

Now That’s A Fact, Jack!

Over the next few weeks leading up to the drop date, the band will release two new singles from the album: “How Could I” on Sept. 24 and “That’s a Fact Jack” on Oct. 8.

Upon its release, the album will be available to stream/download. Pre-order now HERE.

That’s A Fact Jack! Track Listing:

COUNTRY ARTIST ON THE RISE, STEVEN JOHN SIMON, RELEASES PRE-ORDER FOR NEW SINGLE, "STORY TO TELL"

Steven John Simon, rising country artist releases a much awaited new single Story to Tell for pre-order on iTunes, Amazon and Google Play which releases on October 18th 2019.

Story to Tell was produced by Larry Beaird of Beaird Music Group , Songwriter - Rob Carona and Heart Songs Records. Larry brought in some of the most esteemed musicians for this track including: Steve Brewster (Drums - Lorrie Morgan, Joey & Rory Feek, Kenny Rogers), Eli Beaird (Bass - Nashville Cast, Niall Horan), Troy Lancaster (Electric Guitar), Larry Beaird (Acoustic Guitar - Merle Haggard/Willie Nelson, Charley Pride, Garth Brooks ), Billy Nobel (Piano - Cody Johnson, Tim McGraw, Drake White) & Scotty Sanders (Steel - Cody Johnson, Runaway June, Montgomery Gentry). The single and video is distributed by Heart Songs Corporation.

"Story to Tell" originated when the songwriter, Rob Carona, pitched the song to my label, Heart Songs Records. My manager sent me the song and I literally fell in love with the track. I was a bit intimidated by the lyrics and melody, it definitely stretched me as an artist. So I contacted Rob and we worked on the vocal presentation together. I wanted to make sure I was delivering the song in the Way he envisioned because the song is really special."
- Steven John Simon

"This song had a lot of personal meaning to me so finding the right artist to "tell the story" was important. Steven Simon's true country vocal and his authentic delivery was so great to hear."
 - Rob Carona, Songwriter

Steven John Simon will be releasing a lyric video for Story to Tell when the single releases on October 18th, 2019.

His freshman EP is due to release at the end of the year.

THE BAND STEELE SET TO RELEASE A CAPPELLA RENDITION OF "VICTORY IN JESUS"

Studio Recording Features Intimate Solo Performance By Bo Steele  • Released “By Demand,” Single And Corresponding Music Video  To Drop On Good Friday (March 30)
• Pre-sale Available Now •
Responding to overwhelming requests and popular demand, Fire River Records’ country recording act The Band Steele (Bo Steele/Ben Rubino) will release its studio recorded a cappella rendition of
E. M. Bartlett’s “Victory In Jesus”* to coincide with the upcoming Christian Holiday at the end of the month. The spiritually-moving single is available via the pre-sale promotion (going on now), with the official release, of both the track and corresponding music video scheduled for Good Friday, March 30, 2018 via digital retail and streaming outlets. The release of the track runs in tandem with the pair’s latest single, titled “195,” which is currently enjoying traction on the MusicRow and Indicator country radio charts.

The motivation to record the beloved American Christian song (sung by millions in worship services and recorded by some of gospel's biggest names) stems from Bo Steele’s impromptu a cappella performance of the tune in a hospital waiting room; Steele’s performance was captured on video, went viral on YouTube, and has since become one of The Band Steele’s most-requested songs.

“My grandmother was in the hospital and as I sat there, I felt so numb. One of the nurses asked me to ‘sing something’ and ‘Victory In Jesus’ came to my heart; it’s what came out,” Bo Steele introduced.

“We never expected this kind of reaction from a performance so raw and so personal,” Ben Rubino added. “I have to just sit back and watch Bo on this one…there is nothing I could lend to his emotion and vocal delivery that could make it more moving than when he sings it a cappella. I feel like this is how God originally intended this recording from The Band Steele.”

Following the unplanned hospital performance, Bo Steele quickly became an Internet phenom capturing new fans by the millions and the attention of the New York City-based Fire River Records. The label signed The Band Steele to a multi-album record deal nearly on the spot.

The Band Steele will release the corresponding music video (produced by Tytan Pictures, Eatonton, GA) simultaneously with the single digital release (March 30, 2018). Filmed in Eatonton, the clip features local scenery and area residents; the concept portrays a husband and father in mourning, his struggle to overcome loss, and to find an understanding and resolve. He comes to find strength in Jesus.

“We get requests for this gospel tune at songwriter’s rounds, in nightclubs and some of Nashville’s renowned hang-outs. It means something to people and that means something to us. I hope we’ve done this incredible song justice. ‘Victory In Jesus!’,” Bo said.

“Victory In Jesus” will be available via major digital retail and streaming outlets (iTunes/Apple Music/Google Play/Spotify/Pandora) for pre-order on 3/20/18 and for download on 3/30/18. The duo’s current single, “195” from The Band Steele’s latest CD (MOON IN A MASON JAR) is also available here: smarturl.it/TheBandSteele

DYLAN SCOTT TO RELEASE DELUXE EDITION OF SELF-TITLED DEBUT ALBUM ON AUGUST 4

DYLAN SCOTT DELUXE EDITION Features Three New Tracks and
GOLD-Certified TOP 5 Hit “MY GIRL”

Sold Out MY TOWN TOUR Continues, Including High-Profile Show at
New York City’s Gramercy Theatre

Following the success of GOLD-certified TOP 5 and rising romantically charged single, “MY GIRL,” hit making Curb Records breakout artist DYLAN SCOTT is back with brand new country music and is set to release a deluxe edition of his self-titled debut album on August 4.

Three new tracks are featured on DYLAN SCOTT DELUXE EDITION, including the addictive rush of “Hooked,” with the electrifying video – filmed during a concert in Charlotte, NC – premiering today on YouTube and across Scott’s social media platforms. Also on the deluxe album is the real-life fairy tale of “Sleeping Beauty” (which Scott co-wrote with Lee Brice) and the head-turning heat of “Can’t Take Her Anywhere.”

Pre-orders for the new project begin today (6/30) here, and Scott will celebrate the release with his first headlining show in New York City at the famed Gramercy Theatre on August 1.

Beginning with the release of his self-titled debut last year, the young Louisiana native has watched his career catch fire. DYLAN SCOTT arrived in the TOP 5 of Billboard’s Country Albums chart, helping the artist gather a total of 100 million radio plays on Pandora and surpass 170 million on-demand streams on services such as Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon and YouTube.

Meanwhile, the album’s standout single “MY GIRL” has just been certified GOLD for sales of over 500,000 copies, crossing the career mark of 1.5 million stream equivalent songs (SES) in the process – a combination of on-demand streaming and digital downloads. An extremely personal song written about Scott’s girlfriend at the time – and now wife, who is expecting the couple’s first child – “MY GIRL” has also risen into the TOP 5 at Country radio, marking the heartthrob’s first-ever trip into the upper echelons of the radio airplay charts.

Scott made his Grand Ole Opry debut last year, was featured as one of Spotify’s Spotlight on 2016 Country Artists and was named a Pandora Trendsetter. This June, he reached yet another career milestone by selling out the world-famous Troubadour in Los Angeles as part of his headline MY TOWN TOUR. He will continue to grow his energized fanbase with select dates scheduled from coast-to-coast this summer.

CD REVIEW: "GUITAR FOR SALE" - RAY SCOTT ... DING DING DING, WE HAVE ANOTHER WINNER!

#GuitarForSale is available now for pre-order on iTunes and Amazon.

In today's crush of country artists, there's one name that constantly stands out to me, Ray Scott. You won't find him selling out arenas or shaking his "moneymaker" on stage in a pair of nut-crushing designer jeans, instead, you'll find him perfecting his craft in smaller venues in front of more intimate crowds who love the real stuff, know every single lyric and know every song from the early years to his current single. Just a man and his guitar. You'll always find him somewhere between Haggard, Jennings, Jones and sometimes a little Ray Stevens.

Ray Scott may not be a household name but he is hardly an unknown. He's been performing nationwide since 2003, landing a record deal with Warner Bros in 2005 which produced his "My Kind of Music" CD which spawned 3 singles. After leaving Warner Bros, Ray took the path of an independent artist which is where he's built his following and really cemented his reputation in Nashville as a serious (if you can use that term in conjunction with someone who is rarely serious) country artist and songwriter. It was his hit single, "Those Jeans" that put his name on the map. The song was a hit both on Sirius XM's The Highway and a top requested video on GAC. To date, he has performed over 50 times on the historic Opry stage and he tours overseas every year. Ray is like country music Viagra, he's got staying power and provides hours of enjoyment.

His new CD, "Guitar for Sale", hits shelves tomorrow but for those fans who participated in his crowdfunding campaign and got their copy early are already giving it well deserved praise as are country music reviewers. This CD may be titled "Guitar for Sale" but the quality of the music on this project proves that Ray's creativity and talent are not. The songs on this CD come straight from Ray, a departure from his normal comedic schtick, they're like Ray himself, a little dark and moody yet personally relatable. The music on this CD comes from some of the industry's finest country musicians and the production of this CD comes straight from Nashville, not some misplaced pop production team. This may very well be Ray's springboard onto (gulp) country mainstream radio, if
they show any common sense.

This one's well worth every spin and I think Ray's going to find himself with an even larger base of new fans.

Hey Ray, we love your kind of music!

Connect with Ray online. He's one of the most personally engaging artists on social media. It's all 100% Ray who responds because no social media manager could ever engage like Ray does with his fans.

CHRIS YOUNG CELEBRATES LATE NIGHT WITH A.M.

Nashville, TN –  (August 28, 2013) - ‘Nothing good happens after midnight’ goes the old adage. But RCA Records singer songwriter Chris Young has a different opinion entirely. “There’s plenty of great stuff that happens after midnight,” says Chris. “People have a good time, fall in love, work through problems and relationships, lots of good things happen after midnight and that’s why we called the album A.M.”

Chris recognizes all of those aspects with the September 17 release of his new album, A.M.. The title track, written by Chris with pals Chris DeStefano and Ashley Gorley, celebrates the party side of late night. “A.M. is a big fun ode to, we’re having fun, it’s past midnight and it’s on,” laughed Chris. “I love hanging out with friends, having fun, playing music, and that happens a lot in the wee hours.”

“Goodbye,” another song on the album, acknowledges the relationship dynamic that happens in the late night. “In ‘Goodbye,’ the girl shows up at 11:30 pm on her boyfriend’s doorstep in tears that they’re going to break up but he assures her their relationship is worth fighting for, it’s too good to say goodbye,” said Chris.

“While we wrote the title track and ‘Goodbye’ in the same day, the songs couldn’t be more opposite in every way but they deal with things that happen late at night,” Chris said. Chris wrote six of the 11 songs on the album including the current single, “Aw Naw,” which is fast climbing the singles charts. Pre-order A.M. here: iTunes: http://smarturl.it/AMitunes; Amazon: http://smarturl.it/A.M.Amazon; Walmart: http://smarturl.it/CYWalmartPre.
