HARDY, RANDY MONTANA, HUNTER PHELPS AND JAMESON RODGERS HEADLINE INAUGURAL “COULDA, SHOULDA, WOULDA” EVENT TO BENEFIT MUSIC HEALTH ALLIANCE

Evening of Stories and Songs raises $125,000 to support non-profit’s free healthcare programs and life-saving advocacy services

Music Health Alliance (MHA), recently honored with the 2021 CMA Foundation Humanitarian Award, unveiled its inaugural “Coulda, Shoulda, Woulda” event last night, headlined by four of Music City’s hottest songwriters ‑ HARDY, Randy Montana, Hunter Phelps and Jameson Rodgers – performing songs in the round that “coulda, shoulda, woulda” been a smash along with their biggest hits. The evening of stories and songs, hosted by Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton at City Winery, raised $125,000 to support the Nashville-based non-profit’s free healthcare programs and life-saving advocacy services.

“Coulda, Shouda, Woulda” — an old Southern expression for wistful regret, marks the fate of many a good song. Placed unfinished in the back of a drawer, left off an album it didn’t quite fit, every songwriter is haunted by the songs that didn’t seem to get a fair shake. This is how Grammy-winning songwriter Liz Rose came up with the idea for “Coulda, Shouda, Woulda,” a one-of-a-kind event where top songwriters get to pull out the songs that “coulda, shouda, woulda,” and finally give them their day. Join us to hear songwriters play their best songs with the worst luck, the songs they wished they had written, and of course the hits that did get their due.

For every $1 donation, MHA is able to provide $30 in life-saving healthcare resources to Heal The Music. Working tirelessly the powerhouse team of 12 women assist music industry professionals with the entire spectrum of their healthcare needs, ranging from assistance with medical bills or physical and mental health guidance that includes finding doctors or prescription medicine, finding financial grants while recovering from a serious health issue, affordable health insurance, or answers to Medicare questions.

Based in Nashville, MHA has provided free healthcare advocacy and support to more than 18,000 music industry members across 49 states in the non-profit’s first nine years - songwriters, musicians, performers, producers, engineers, venue operators, artist managers, agents, publishers, business managers, and more - by providing access to medicine, mental health resources, COVID-19 relief, diagnostic tests, lifesaving transplants, end of life care and many other necessary services, saving more than $85,000,000 in healthcare costs for the nationwide music community in less than a decade. Entirely funded through grants and individual and corporate donations, financial support from the music community is critical to continue MHA’s advocacy and free services.

In response to the pandemic, Music Health Alliance’s COVID-19 Relief Plan was created to provide direct support for the immediate needs of music industry professionals and their families during this public health crisis through relief grants, simplified solutions and a comprehensive database of resources. MHA fights so those in our industry never have to feel alone in a health crisis and removes obstacles so patients can receive lifesaving care. Its services are free to any person who has worked in the music industry for three or more years or who has credited contributions to 4 commercially released recordings or videos. Spouses, partners, and children of qualifying individuals may also receive access to the non-profit’s services from birth to end of life.

LUKE COMBS’ NEW EP, "THE PREQUEL", OUT JUNE 7

LEAD SINGLE “BEER NEVER BROKE MY HEART” SETS FIRST WEEK STREAMING RECORD WITH 11 MILLION STREAMS

CMA and ACM-award winner Luke Combs will release his highly anticipated new EP, The Prequel, June 7 via River House Artists/Columbia Nashville. You can pre-save the EP now.

Produced by Scott Moffatt, the EP features five new songs co-written by Combs including lead single, "Beer Never Broke My Heart," which recently premiered worldwide at country radio. The song is currently No. 2 on Billboard’s Country Streaming Songs chart with 11 million streams—setting the record for the best first week of streaming ever for a country song—and No. 1 on the Billboard Country Digital Song Sales chart. "Beer Never Broke My Heart" also recently set the record for most adds on the Mediabase/Country Aircheck chart with 149 adds and debuted at No. 15 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart—the top entrance by any artist since September 2012 and Combs’ highest debut to date. In celebration of the new music, Combs recently performed the track on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”

The release of The Prequel adds to an already monumental year for Combs, who is nominated for two awards at the 2019 CMT Music Awards: Video of the Year (“She Got The Best of Me”) and CMT Performance of the Year (“Beautiful Crazy” from CMT Crossroads with Leon Bridges). The awards ceremony will broadcast live on CMT from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, June 5 at 8:00pm ET/7:00pm CT.

Additionally, Combs recently made history as the first artist to simultaneously top all five Billboard country charts for multiple weeks: Top Country Albums, Hot Country Songs, Country Airplay, Country Streaming Songs and Country Digital Song Sales (dated March 9, March 30 and April 6). Moreover, Combs’ previous 2x platinum single, “Beautiful Crazy,” spent seven-straight weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart—tying the second longest run atop the chart since its launch in 1990. “Beautiful Crazy” Beautiful Crazy” is also the first country single shipped to radio already platinum-certified since Taylor Swift’s “Red” in 2013, has more than 390 million on-demand streams and makes Combs the first artist ever to send his first five singles to the top of Billboard’s Country Airplay chart.

Continuing his landmark year, Combs sold out venues in 25 of the 29 cities on his newly confirmed “Beer Never Broke My Heart” fall tour in the first weekend tickets were on-sale. He broke records at Bozeman’s Brick Breeden Fieldhouse, Bloomington’s Grossinger Motors Arena and Bossier City’s CenturyLink Center for the fastest sell out times in venue history. Additional sold-out shows include Kansas City’s Sprint Center, Portland’s Moda Center, Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center, Phoenix’s Talking Stick Resort Arena, Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center and Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena among several others. Special guests throughout the tour include Morgan Wallen, The Cadillac Three and Jameson Rodgers. See below for complete tour details.

The Prequel is Combs’ first release following his double Platinum certified debut album, This One’s For You, which was released June 2, 2017 and has spent a total of 35 non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart—the longest reign for a solo male artist in over 25 years. The album also spent 16 weeks at No. 1 in 2018—making it the highest selling country album last year with 1.1 million equivalent album units sold and the only country album to surpass 1 million album units. It’s also the most-streamed country album of 2019 so far. Additionally, Combs was awards Top Country Artist, Top Country Male Artist, and Top Country Album at the 2019 Billboard Music Awards, New Male Artist of the Year at the 2019 ACM Awards, Country Artist of the Year at the 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards, New Artist of the Year at the 52nd Annual CMA Awards, was nominated for Best New Artist at the 61st GRAMMY Awards and was the recipient of a CMA Triple Play Award for writing three No. 1 songs in a 12 month period.
