COUNTRY LEGEND, RANDY TRAVIS, HELPS MIDWEST COMMUNICATIONS, INC. LAUNCH A COUNTRY RADIO STATION IN NASHVILLE

At 10:00 am. CT yesterday with one flip of a switch by country icon Randy Travis, Midwest Communication’s CHR Station, Hot 106.7, was transformed to “Y’all 106.7.” The first song to air on this new 80’s and 90’s-based country format was none other than Travis’ very own “Forever and Ever, Amen.”

Country Music Hall of Fame and Grand Ole Opry member, Randy Travis - an artist with over 25 million albums sold and combined total of 22 ACM, CMA and Grammy awards - was in the “Y’all 106.7” studio with Brand Manager Ron Allen to kick off the new format.

Representing Midwest Communications ownership family, Mary Kay Wright said, “Nashville is a market already rich in great country programming, but we feel that this unique 80’s and 90’s-based format will bring country listeners an exciting new option. It’s such an honor to have Randy Travis as part of our Y’all 106.7 launch. He isn’t just a top artist from the 80’s, he helped define the best of what country music was then and still is today.”

Ron Allen, Brand Manager for Nashville’s 96.3 JACK-fm, will add programming responsibilities for the new brand. Ron has served as Midwest Communications DUKE FM Format Captain (Classic Country), and has launched and programmed several country stations over the course of his career.

Allen said, “We fully appreciate that the country format in Nashville is crowded, but we believe there is still an opportunity to serve the community and be successful in this lane.”

Regarding the format change, as a personal note, Ms. Wright also shared that “Today is a little bittersweet for our family. Midwest Communications CEO and founder, Duke Wright, who recently passed away, was a huge fan of Randy Travis. ‘Forever and Ever, Amen’ was one of his all-time favorites. He would have been thrilled that Randy helped kick off Y’all 106.7.”

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 20 AT 8:30PM ET - RANDY TRAVIS' DOCUMENTARY "MORE LIFE" TO PREMIERE ON CIRCLE NETWORK

Award-winning Circle Network announced today that it is set to premiere "More Life," a documentary on multi-award-winning artist Randy Travis featuring many of his last recorded performances, on Thursday, February 10 at 8:30 PM ET. Made available to viewers for the first time ever, More Life will air following the season two premiere of “Upstream with Elizabeth Cook,” where Elizabeth joins Randy and his wife Mary at their home in Texas for a day of fishing.

In 2011, "More Life" started as an intimate concert special honoring the 25th anniversary of Randy's iconic album Storms of Life. However many didn't know how important this documentary would become. As the film was being finalized in 2013, Randy unexpectedly became ill and suffered a massive stroke, making him unable to perform and severely limiting his speech.

"Though this documentary began as a 25th Anniversary special, it quickly pivoted into a chronicled celebration of life’s setups and setbacks, after my massive stroke in 2013. The planned few months of composing, turned into 10 years—Mary and I thank the perseverance and patience of the wonderful team that waited and believed in it until completion...the ones that care and protect the legacy of my music,” said Travis.

He continues, “With the colorful life I've lived and four rollercoaster decades in the music and movie industry, there are infinite stories to tell in a finite timeframe. As I watch and listen to the cadence of kind words, special memories, and well-wishes from friends and colleagues, captured in the documentary, I am reminded of the blessed life God has given me. I appreciate those who gave ‘More Love' along the way, and the fans that continue to shed ‘More Light' along my path. There aren’t words that express the gratitude I have for the ones that came along when the day was dim, the future unknown…that gave me ‘More Life’.” With excitement, Travis closes with this, “Not feeling is final…and, I’m feeling great! Enjoy!"

"More Life" has grown beyond its initial vision and has become a celebration of Randy's legacy. The documentary will also feature a special duet performance with Travis and country artist Josh Turner who appeared on Travis’ 25th anniversary album.

Teresa George, VP of Strategic Partnerships at Circle Network, adds “Randy Travis’ light has shined brightly over this town ever since he stepped into the music scene. We are honored to have a part in sharing this inspiring story of his courage, kindness and talent with the world.”

“Randy Travis is the cornerstone of Warner Music Nashville, and we are both honored and humbled to share 'More Life' with the world,” said Shane Tarleton, EVP of Artist Development at Warner Music Nashville. “We’ve been in production for over a decade on this documentary which shines a light on the passion that still drives one of the most important voices in modern country music history.”

Leading into the documentary will be the season two premiere of Circle’s original series “Upstream with Elizabeth Cook.” For this episode, Elizabeth travels to country music legend Randy Travis’ home in Texas where she joined him and his wife Mary to fish. Elizabeth is given a tour of the ranch where longhorn, buffalo, and show horses reside. Elizabeth’s love and respect for Randy makes for an incredibly heart-warming show.

"More Life" and “Upstream with Elizabeth Cook” will air Thursday, February 10 beginning at 8 PM ET.

"More Life" is directed and produced by Shaun Silva. Shane Tarleton and Mike Dupree serve as executive producers along with Tacklebox Films.

“Upstream with Elizabeth Cook” is produced by OEG Productions with Martin Fischer as Executive Producer and Kathryn Russ as director/producer.

Circle is a joint venture between Opry Entertainment Group, a subsidiary of Ryman Hospitality Properties, and Gray Television. For more schedule and program details, visit www.circleallaccess.com.

RANDY TRAVIS RELEASES REMASTER OF HISTORIC MULTI-PLATINUM DEBUT ALBUM STORMS OF LIFE (35TH ANNIVERSARY DELUXE EDITION) WITH NEVER-BEFORE-HEARD SONGS

Seven-time GRAMMY-winner and Country Music Hall of Fame member, Randy Travis, is bringing true country music back again with the remastered version of his multi-platinum debut album Storms Of Life (35th Anniversary Deluxe Edition). 35 years after he turned the genre around with his authentic story-telling and unique baritone, the country music legend brings fans these iconic songs better than ever. Along with “Diggin’ Up Bones” and “On The Other Hand”, which originally catapulted to No. 1 on the charts in 1986, this remastering of one of the all-time great debut albums also includes three previously unreleased songs from The Vault.

Listen to “Storms Of Life (35th Anniversary Deluxe Edition)” here.

The masterful Bernie Taupin, Songwriters Hall of Fame member and lyricist on nearly all of Elton John's catalog of hits, penned the liner notes for the re-issue with a summation only a fellow gifted creative could so fittingly put into words:

"It’s an anomaly in any genre of music to create the perfect album. Oh, it happens, but inevitably it can be marred by that one track that makes you think ‘Dang, if only they’d left that one out.' Hank Williams didn’t make long players per se, but over the decades since Luke the Drifter cranked out cuts of genuine genius, there has been an illustrious handful who have not only carved out country classics, but have been driven to greatness by voices hand picked by God. They are few and far between, but Randy Travis and his perfect gem Storms of Life stands on the shoulders of giants."

"Ain't No Use," "The Wall" and "Carryin’ Fire" were recorded 1985, but never found a place on the original 10-song album. Now, Travis' signature sound rings as true and clear as ever on these never-before-released songs, finally finding their place among his chart-topping hits. Country music fans originally embraced this now historic album 35 years ago, and fans around the world are still captivated with Travis as one of the genre’s kings. His presence on social media continues to flourish, with his TikTok following climbing past 2 million, while his one-of-a-kind voice still garners millions of streams weekly around the world - even while still silenced by his massive 2013 stroke.

RANDY TRAVIS’ “FOOL’S LOVE AFFAIR” SURPASSES 1 MILLION STREAMS IN ONE WEEK, GOES VIRAL ON TIKTOK

Country Music Icon Featured By NBC's Today, Bobby Bones And The New York Times

Randy Travis "Fool's Love Affair"

Last week, country music icon Randy Travis released his first single since his stroke in 2013. “Fool’s Love Affair,” a never before heard song, quickly garnered attention from some of the biggest media outlets including Billboard, The New York Times and Rolling Stone as well as reaching over 1 million streams on digital platforms. Travis and his wife Mary also appeared on NBC’s TODAY with Hoda and Jenna this morning. Download and stream the song here. This week, the music legend joined the viral app TikTok and has four million views on his first video in less than two days.

The New York Times describes “Fool’s Love Affair” as “a reassuringly sturdy jolt of traditionalism.”

Well-known morning show host Bobby Bones highlighted the song in last week’s Bobbycast.

Taste of Country described Randy as “the epitome of what country music should sound like.”

“This, my friends, is what Real Country Music sounds like.” - Robert K. Oermann, Music Row Magazine

Billboard says, “the tone is rich and reedy, the delivery is steady and understated, and the emotion is convincingly resigned.”

The Tennessean called the song “a classic ballad tinged with steel guitar and carried by the warm croon that sold millions of albums and helped shape a generation of country stars to come.”

“Fool’s Love Affair” not only is the first new Randy Travis music in years, but it also marked the 35th Anniversary of his first radio single “On The Other Hand.” Originally recorded as a demo, the song sat in storage until one of the writers, Charlie Monk (who wrote the song with Milton Brown and Keith Stegall) rediscovered it and sent it to Travis and his longtime producer Kyle Lehning. This release was long awaited by country music fans and artists who credit him as musical inspiration. In addition, country radio across the country and around the world truly embraced the song, featuring it on release day along with commentary on Randy Travis' impact on the genre.

Performing two of Travis’ biggest hits were Garth Brooks, singing “Forever and Ever, Amen,” and Carrie Underwood, singing “Promises.” The duo then joined ASCAP President and Chairman, Paul Williams, in presenting the award, which will join the top shelf of Travis’ award room alongside a Country Music Hall of Fame plaque, a Grand Ole Opry member trophy, seven GRAMMY Awards, 11 ACM statuettes, five CMA honors, 10 American Music Awards, two People’s Choice awards, eight Dove Awards and many more honors.

“This man saved country music single handedly.... I wouldn’t be standing here if it weren’t for Randy Travis," said Garth Brooks as he welcomed Randy to the stage.

“Your music became a symphony to the lives of millions,” Mary Travis said to her husband. “The songs that you left us before your stroke six-and-a-half years ago will remain the soundtrack of our lives Forever and Ever, Amen.”

These awards celebrate the songwriters and publishers of ASCAP’s most-performed country songs. Travis joins the ranks of Rodney Crowell, George Strait, Alan Jackson, Ricky Skaggs, Jackson Brown, Garth Brooks, Emmylou Harris, Tom Petty and Neil Young, among others, as a Founders Award recipient. This particular award is one of ASCAP’s highest honors, which is presented to songwriters and composers who have made significant contributions to music and inspire and influence the music community.

RANDY TRAVIS RELEASES HIS FIRST SONG IN SIX YEARS, “ONE IN A ROW”

In the midst of promoting his memoir, Forever and Ever, Amen, Randy Travis gives fans a reason to celebrate with his first music release in six years. “One In A Row”, is a song about missing someone as much as the world has missed the Country Music Hall of Fame member’s one-of-a-kind baritone since a massive stroke in 2013 affected his ability to perform. The song, penned by Buddy Jewell and Thom McHugh, was recorded years before the stroke but never widely released to audiences. It showcases Travis’ deep, velvety smooth, signature tone with the traditional country sound that has been a cornerstone of his career since 1986 when he “turned [the country] format 180 degrees from where it’s heading, back and made it bigger than it ever was” [Garth Brooks to Rolling Stone Country].

“Traditional country music was all I wanted to do -- it’s all I knew how to do.” - Randy Travis in his memoir, Forever and Ever, Amen: A Memoir of Music, Faith, and Braving the Storms of Life.

Randy’s memoir takes readers behind the music, with candid, never-before-told details, of his troubled youth full of drinking and stealing cars, a tense relationship with his father and the roller coaster ride of more than 40 years in the music and acting industry. With the help of New York Times Best-Selling Author, Ken Abraham, and Travis’ wife Mary, this memoir recounts the singer’s journey of perseverance and redemption from his early childhood memories up until the book was penned, recovering from a life-changing stroke and painful divorce, enjoying the life he was given and learning to “sing a new song.” The book can be purchased at various retailers as well as www.foreverandeveramenbook.com.

Travis will have a booth in Fan Fair X at Music City Center (Booth 142) with books for purchase and daily photo opportunities during the upcoming CMA Fest in Nashville, Tenn., as well as a book tour in select markets. RANDY TRAVIS ANNOUNCES LONG-AWAITED MEMOIR: FOREVER AND EVER, AMEN

Cover of Book Revealed by People.com, On Sale May 14

Thomas Nelson, a division of HarperCollins, announced the cover for the upcoming memoir by country music legend Randy Travis today in an exclusive with People.com. The book is available now for preorder on Amazon and other retailers.

In his long-awaited memoir, Forever and Ever, Amen: A Memoir of Music, Faith, and Braving the Storms of Life, Travis opens up for the first time, sharing the deeply personal stories of his life. From a troubled, working-class childhood in North Carolina to the Country Music Hall of Fame; from a broken marriage to a miraculous daily recovery from viral cardiomyopathy, flatlining, massive stroke and coma, Travis, with the help of best-selling author Ken Abraham, tells his story of perseverance and redemption from start to finish.

“I didn’t really feel I had a book to write until I stood on the distant shore and looked back over the ripples my life has made—on myself and on others. My songs were the stories of my life and I learned from those who listened, they were theirs too—my fans inspired me and continue to do so,” said Randy Travis.

With candid, never-before-told details, Travis recounts his troubled youth full of drinking and stealing cars, a tense relationship with his father, and the rollercoaster ride of more than 40 years in the music and acting industry. He also shares the highs that came after playing “Forever and Ever, Amen” for the first time; having 18 number one hits and selling more than 25 million albums; and most importantly, the faith that has seen him through all of it.

“I learned a lot about myself going back through the chronicles of my past.  In my waning years of ability I have a clearer picture of the past. It’s an interesting game of patience to sit and wait for the clocks of time to expose so much,” lamented Travis. “As the candle burns, it is time to share the history that made me who I am, tell the backstory to some of my songs, give insight to the challenges I faced, and reflect on the blessings through it all.”
