SCOOTER BROWN HONORED AT THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS

Photo ID (L to R): War Hippies, Donnie Reis and Scooter Brown

The Rocky Mountain Country Music Awards hosted their seventh annual ceremony at the Union Colony Civic Center in Greeley over the weekend. Scooter Brown took home the coveted Hadley Barrett Person of Year Award which is presented to a person from the Rocky Mountain country music scene that has done incredible things for their community. Scooter is a combat veteran who works with several organizations that help other veterans and families and was ultimately chosen for this award for the work he does for vets and beyond.

“It’s always great being recognized for the music but I’ve always believed and hoped for that the music would become a platform to shine a light on causes I am passionate about. Having been involved with RMCMA for the past four years, I know how much the Hadley Barrett Person of the Year award means to the organization. I am humbled and honored to have received it this year and hope I’ve inspired others to try and do more good in the world to help our fellow human beings,” said Scooter Brown.

The Hadley Barrett Person of the Year Award is named in honor of the late rodeo announcer who was very involved in the community throughout his career and given to a person from the Rocky Mountain region each year who exemplifies a commitment to serving their community.

“Scooter could, and probably should win this award every year. He makes a difference in so many lives every day. No one more deserving, period,” said the founder of the RMCMA and iHeart radio host, Shawn Patrick.

Scooter has previously won the 2020 Fan Army Award and 2019 Male Vocalist of the Year Award at the RMCMA.

Scooter was joined by world-renowned violinist, Donnie Reis, to play two songs, "Killing It" and "Wicked Game." The two recently joined forces to create the duo, War Hippies. Donnie served in the U.S. Army from 2001 to 2009 and did one combat tour in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Stay tuned for a further announcement and new music from the duo out this year.

SCOOTER BROWN BAND RELEASES NEW SINGLE "WINE DRUNK"

Scooter Brown Band is uncorking a new side of themselves with their latest release, “Wine Drunk." Co-written by Scooter Brown and Adam Wood, this release is the country-rock band's take on the finer side of life. With classic Scooter Brown Band sound, catchy beat and clever lyrics, "Wine Drunk" will have the manliest of men dancing along and claiming their love for a nice, long-stemmed glass of vino.

“'Wine Drunk' is one of the first songs I co-wrote when I moved to Nashville with one of my favorite writers, Adam Wood (Curb/ Pump House). I love wine, especially red wine. I haven’t heard very many songs with a “dude's perspective” on getting wine drunk. It ain’t just for suits & ties… Even a long haired country boy, guitar playing, war hippie can appreciate a good wine,” said Scooter Brown.

Scooter Brown Band’s previously released music connects to the band’s strong patriotic and authentic country roots, with the likes of Randy Travis and Charlie Daniels as supporters and collaborators. Their single "Country At All" was in rotation on SiriusXM's Outlaw Country, as well as their ode to the great Waylon Jennings, "Something Waylon Would Sing." With this release, they are looking forward to a new era that will share the different sides of their music and express more of their influences with a broader audience.

SCOOTER BROWN BAND HONORS WAYLON JENNINGS WITH NEW DOUBLE SINGLE

Scooter Brown Band honors one of their heroes and biggest influences, outlaw legend Waylon Jennings, with their new double single release. Starting with their original, written by frontman Scooter Brown and Rick Huckaby, “Something Waylon Would Sing,” the well-known band brings back that original outlaw feel perfected by Waylon himself. Then the band covers Waylon’s hit “Don’t You Think This Outlaw Bit’s Done Got Out Of Hand.”

The band was fortunate enough to have some special guests on the record as well. Shannon Wickline, from The Charlie Daniels Band, hammers out B3 organ and keys, while Steve Hinson, Nashville session great and longtime member of Randy Travis’ band, adds his iconic steel guitar skills. Both Travis and the late Daniels have been a huge part of the Scooter Brown Band story, each supporting the band’s growth. SBB was slated to be the opener this year on the Fire on the Mountain Tour with the CDB and Marshall Tucker Band.

“Waylon Jennings has been a musical hero of mine since I can remember. I loved writing this song and watching it come alive. I’m excited to let the world hear it,” says Scooter Brown.

Brown chose yesterday to release the double single for a special reason. Veterans Day holds a special meaning to him and the rest of the band as two of its members have served. Brown, a Marine Veteran, and drummer Matt Bledsoe, an Army Veteran, both deserve special recognition on this day.

During this unprecedented year, Brown has been busy writing new music, gearing up for an exciting 2021 filled with new music.

ROLLING STONE COUNTRY ARTIST YOU NEED TO KNOW SCOOTER BROWN BAND TO PERFORM AT HALFTIME OF2017 LOCKHEED MARTIN ARMED FORCES BOWL

Pictured above: Scott "Scooter" Brown and Chris Kyle

Scooter Brown, frontman for Scooter Brown Band, will perform in Fort Worth, Texas on December 23 during halftime at the 2017 Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl. The game will be televised by ESPN and can be heard on the Armed Forces Bowl Radio Network. Rolling Stone recently listed the band, known for their unique style of country and southern rock music, as one of ten Country Artists You Need To Know earlier this month. Information on the game here.

Marine Veteran and lead singer, Scooter Brown, wrote “Valor” with Chris Kyle, United States Navy SEAL Veteran and sniper, while at a Base Camp 40 - Warriors In The Wild Veterans hunting retreat in 2012.

"Chris and I wanted to pay homage to all of our military men and women who have fought in combat for our country ,” said Scooter Brown, adding, “It was the belief of both Chris & myself, that no matter if you got a medal or an award for it or not, we all fought with valor.”

“Earlier this year I was introduced by Kevin Fahlund, a mutual friend and current Navy service member, to Scooter at a Chris Kyle Foundation event at Billy Bob’s Texas.  Scooter shared his story with me and then went on stage to sing Valor. I knew right then, this song needed to be heard by our Armed Forces Bowl audience and even more so it needed to be presented in a light that included those that have given more. Therefore, I decided to have him sing at halftime to our wounded warriors that will be on the field during the singing of Valor.” expressed Brant B. Ringler, Executive Director ESPN

A September release of their debut nationally distributed album, American Son, included  the title-track featuring Country Music Hall of Famer Charlie Daniels. The Scooter Brown Band has been on the road playing for fans around the country with over 150 shows this year, both headlining and opening for iconic acts like the Charlie Daniels Band, Travis Tritt, Lee Roy Parnell and the Marshall Tucker Band.
