VIDEO: THE SECRET SISTERS GIVE CAPTIVATING PERFORMANCE OF "TOMORROW WILL BE KINDER" ON NBC’s THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH JAY LENO

Self-penned Ballad is Featured on The Hunger Games: Songs From District 12 and Beyond Which Hit Stores Tuesday, March 20

Nashville, Tenn. – Thursday night, the stage at NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno looked like a scene from The Hunger Games as sibling duo The Secret Sisters performed their captivating self-penned ballad, "Tomorrow Will Be Kinder," that is featured on the film's soundtrack, The Hunger Games: Songs From District 12 and Beyond. Check out the full performance clip below (performance starts at approximately 4 minute mark ... the video starts at the 38.53 minute mark and goes backwards so don't let that confuse you! LOL)

Sisters Laura and Lydia Rogers wrote "Tomorrow Will Be Kinder" while on tour in Australia, and after T Bone Burnett, executive producer of The Hunger Games: Songs From District 12 and Beyond, heard it recorded he immediately knew it was a perfect fit for the soundtrack.

“We were in Australia, and there, Lydia sat down and wrote the song. Even though it came from thinking about a really dark circumstance, it is about looking forward to better days. In that sense, it really ties into the characters’ experience in The Hunger Games,” Laura says.

In support of the soundtrack, The Secret Sisters have garnered attention from Seventeen Magazine, The Hollywood Reporter and more, and Rolling Stone writer Steve Appleford says, “‘Tomorrow Will Be Kinder’ fits with the pure harmonies of bluegrass, folk, mid-Sixties pop and classic country on their debut.” Click to read the full article in Rolling Stone.

Currently, The Secret Sisters are in the process of writing new material for their sophomore album, recently meeting up with renowned songwriter Dan Wilson who has co-written three songs on Adele’s GRAMMY-winning album, 21. Fans can expect their next release to show more influence of the Everly Brothers and the Delta Blues.

CD Review: "The Secret Sisters" -The Secret Sisters

CD: "The Secret Sisters"
Release Date: October 12, 2010
Label: Universal Republic

I have to say that when I first heard about The Secret Sisters, I wasn't sure what to expect. Were they gonna be like the Jane Dear Girls, like Kate and Kacey, or were they gonna be something different? Different is exactly what they are and I can promise you, they are true to who they are and stand alone in their musical style among today's artists. They are a breath of fresh air in a stale musical atmosphere. Now, that being said, do I think they'll gain a huge following among those fans that love today's current style of mainstream music? Not necessarily, but they will and are already carving their own niche among audiences and building their own crowd.

When you hear the first harmonies of The Secret Sistersyou know you're in for a different musical journey than you're used to taking when it comes to country music. The die hard old school fans will LOVE them, love their 1940's, Loretta Lynn original country sound. They are the kind of artists that are going to establish a love/hate relationship with country fans. Either you're gonna love them or your gonna hate them. That's not to sound bad, that's actually a good thing. That means they're unique, they're stand outs and there is no wishy washy back and forth with them. Personally, I love them. I turn on the cd and it's like being back in my grandma's house, listening to the country music on her AM transistor radio while she's baking biscuits and preparing Sunday dinner. It brings back good memories for me and judging from the response the cd is getting, it brings back those same good memories for lots of people. Once again, producer Dave Cobb is bringing traditional country back to the forefront with Jamey Johnson and The Secret Sisters  and giving those of us who love that style of music something to look forward to. The one complaint I do have is that there are so many cover songs on the cd, I'd like to hear more original pieces from them. I can get past that for now though, the music is just that good.

For those of you who love grandma's country music, this is the cd you should own. This cd is a well crafted country music time machine and it takes you back to a place long forgotten among today's artists. Well done! I'd give it more than 2 thumbs up if I had more than 2 thumbs.
