Award-winning singer-songwriter Skip Ewing performed to a full house at Nashville’s City Winery Wednesday night (12.6).

The two-hour set included a 12-song solo Hits Medley, “I Would If I Could” (recently recorded and released by CMA 2023 Entertainer of the Year Lainey Wilson — read the PEOPLE story here), “Railroad,” “The Juggler,” “Wyoming,” “Petroglyph,” “Margolaigne,” “Wreck Of My Heart,” “Windmill,” “Road Dog,” “Mister Snowman” and “Christmas Carol.”

“Lainey was so gracious to send a message that had she not been on the Opry the same night she would have come to the show and sung the new song with me,” Ewing said. “I look forward to actually meeting her. I absolutely love everything I know about her, and the way she sang the song Dean Dillon and I wrote, ‘I Would If I Could’ for the Apple Music ‘Lost & Found’ project.”

Ewing’s upcoming album Road To California is slated for release in February 2024.

DISCOVER THE POWER OF FAITH WITH ASHLEY GRONHOLM’S “ANOINTED ONE”

Evangelist, author and singer/songwriter Ashley Gronholm wants listeners to discover the power of faith with the release of her new single, “Anointed One.” This song reflects one of the most powerful songwriting moments of her career as a songwriter. This timely new release celebrates the coming return of Jesus and can be streamed and downloaded HERE.

Ashley Gronholm wrote this song as she read the book of Revelation 22:17, “And the Spirit and the Bride say, Come. And let him who hears say, Come. And let him who is thirsty come. And whoever will, let him take the water of life freely.” As she was sitting at the piano praying about this verse and imagining the day when Jesus will one day return, this excitement rose up in her spirit and the melody came. Her fingers began flying across the piano and the tears began to fall as the spirit of God was releasing this sound. “Anointed One” was written in less than 30 minutes.

“It is my deep desire and prayer that this song will bless the people of God and reveal the love of Jesus in this end time hour we are living in, because Jesus is coming back soon and we need him now more than ever!” exclaimed Ashley Gronholm.

“He will appear upon the clouds
With sword, a robe, a royal crown
The victory, He has won
Messiah, Christ, Anointed One

Perfecter of our faith,
Defender full of grace,
My Jesus!
You’re my Jesus

Redeemed me from my sin
Brought me to life again
My Jesus!
You’re my Jesus…”

“Anointed One” was self-penned by Ashley Gronholm and recorded at 800 East Studios in Atlanta, Georgia. Produced by Gronholm, Martin Kearns and Shannon Tebo and mixed by Martin Kearns with mastering provided by Larry Anthony at COS Mastering.

Studio musicians on the new single included Shannon Tebo (piano), Martin Kearns (keyboards, tambourine), Colin Agnew (percussion) and Gronholm and Tebo (background vocals).

Stay in touch with Ashley Gronholm on her website and social media platforms Facebook, Twitter (X), Instagram and watch videos on her official YouTube account. Stay connected with her on LinkedIN.

Listen to her music on Spotify, Apple Music/iTunes, Pandora, YouTube Music and Amazon Music.

BOBBY BARE TO RECEIVE FRANCES WILLIAMS PRESTON MENTOR AWARD AT NASHVILLE SONGWRITERS HALL OF FAME GALA

Music Icon Bobby Bare will be honored with the Frances Williams Preston Mentor Award at the upcoming Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Gala on Wednesday, October 11, it was announced today by Mark Ford, Executive Director of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame (NaSHOF).

“Throughout his storied career, Bobby Bare has changed the lives of countless songwriters,” says Ford. “He has befriended numerous NaSHOF legends, including Shel Silverstein, Tom T. Hall, Billy Joe Shaver, Bob McDill, Harlan Howard and Kris Kristofferson. He discovered Waylon Jennings and helped him sign with RCA Records in the mid-1960s. He featured many songwriters on his TNN TV show, Bobby Bare and Friends, from 1983-1988. Bobby has made a tremendous impact upon our music, and we are proud to salute him in this way.”

Ford added that, as a recording artist, Bare has had a powerful influence upon NaSHOF for decades. During his 60-year career, Bare has recorded more than 300 songs – including 35 Top-40 singles – written or co-written by 76 NaSHOF songwriters – roughly 30 percent of the Hall’s entire membership.

Bare is a 2013 inductee into the Country Music Hall Of Fame and has been a member of the Grand Ole Opry from 1970-1973 and again since 2018. He becomes the first recording artist to receive the award named for Frances Williams Preston, who influenced and nurtured the careers of thousands of songwriters, performers and publishers in all genres during her five-decade career at BMI.

Previous recipients are music publisher Bob Beckham (2008), music publisher Bill Hall (2009), Preston (2010), music publisher David Conrad (2011), music publisher Donna Hilley (2012), Bluebird Café founder Amy Kurland (2013), music publisher Pat Higdon (2014), music publisher Bill Lowery (2016) and songwriter advocate Ralph Murphy (2019).

31ST ANNUAL TIN PAN SOUTH SONGWRITERS FESTIVAL SET FOR MARCH 28 - APRIL 1

THE NASHVILLE SONGWRITERS ASSOCIATION INTERNATIONAL TO REVEAL LINEUP, BEGIN PASS SALES MARCH 3

The Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) announces additional details for its 31st Annual Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival presented by Regions Bank. Taking place Tuesday, March 28, through Saturday, April 1, 2023, the famous Nashville staple will takeover ten stages across Music City in many of the most popular and hottest venues! Locations include: 3rd & Lindsley, Analog at Hutton Hotel (stage presented by Musicnotes), The Bluebird Cafe, Commodore Grille, Cross-Eyed Critters Watering Hole (stage presented by Tennessee Entertainment Commission), Hard Rock Café Nashville, The Lounge at City Winery (stage presented by Recording Academy Songwriters & Composers Wing), The Listening Room Cafe (stage presented by Visit Music City), Live Oak, and at The Vinyl Lounge (stage presented by Nashville Scene).

NSAI will reveal the full festival lineup on Friday, March 3. Week-long passes will go on sale that day at 10:00 a.m. CT at www.tinpansouth.com. Pass pricing is $145 for NSAI members and $175 for general public. If you are a member of NSAI, be sure to log in to your account to receive the member price! Passes typically sell out within 48 hours, so set your alarms! There will be a cash line at every show for those looking to attend on an individual basis – availability will be based on venue capacity and admission is not guaranteed.

Tin Pan South is one of Nashville’s most revered and highly anticipated events of the year and the 2023 festival will be no exception! Each venue will host early and late rounds throughout the week, showcasing hundreds of songwriters from Nashville, around the country, and beyond. With an array of musical talent spanning multiple genres, the entire week will be filled with a variety of unforgettable moments.

One show of note at The Bluebird Cafe will be curated by The Saxon Pub, a legendary Austin, Texas music venue, and will feature songwriters from the Lone Star State. The show is part two of a unique exchange program between The Bluebird Cafe and The Saxon Pub, and designed by NSAI to showcase and support the songwriters from the two music communities. Part one will be presented at The Saxon Pub during South by South West (SXSW) in mid-March. The Tin Pan South performance will cap off the inaugural partnership. “A greater presence in Texas is a priority for NSAI,” said Executive Director Bart Herbison.

Each year, Tin Pan South selects a nonprofit organization to receive proceeds from one of the participating shows. The Store has been chosen as the the official charity for 2023. The free year-round grocery store on 12th Avenue South at Caldwell Avenue in Nashville allows qualifying families to ‘shop’ for their basic needs with dignity. The Store collaborates with other organizations to solve hunger issues through food security and community empowerment programs.

Thank you to our annual Tin Pan South corporate partners: Regions Bank (title sponsor), Southwest (official airline) NewsChannel 5 (official broadcast partner) Jack Daniel’s, Visit Music City, ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, Graduate Hotel, and Hutton Hotel.

BRANTLEY GILBERT ANNOUNCES HIGHLY ANTICIPATED NEW ALBUM, "SO HELP ME GOD"

10-Track Collection Set for Release Thursday, November 10, Including
New Single “Heaven By Then” with Blake Shelton Featuring Vince Gill

Son of the Dirty South Tour Continues Tonight Before the Georgia-Native
Joins Five Finger Death Punch on Co-Headlining Tour

Gilbert Partners with Nine Line Apparel for Exclusive Shirt Design to
Benefit Veterans Through Nine Line Foundation

Multi-Platinum country star Brantley Gilbert is the first to admit he’s meticulous when it comes to writing and releasing new music, tinkering and tweaking things until he feels he’s found the best way to serve the song and the project.

“I’ve always taken a little longer than most artists, especially in this genre, to put an album out and that’s partly to do with me being a perfectionist,” Gilbert prefaces. “But we’ve been looking forward to getting this album out for a long time. I’ve been blessed to sit down with some of the best writers in the country, and I feel like we’ve written some wonderful stuff.”

Armed with a 10-track collection that meets the Georgia-native’s standards, Gilbert announces his long-awaited new album "So Help Me God" via The Valory Music Co., set for digital release Thursday, November 10. Pre-save the album HERE.

“In the past, my albums were almost direct reflections, direct chapters of my life,” shares Gilbert. “Whatever I’d gone through since I wrote the last record would make its way onto the new album. There’s still some of that with "So Help Me God" since I’m a co-writer on all the songs – it’s been three years since the last release and a lot of life lived. But I feel like this album is more of a mixtape of great songs.

“We wanted to put songs that sounded good together, but also songs that covered a wide variety of genre influences,” Gilbert elaborates. “There’s a lot of different songwriting styles on the album. We’re super excited about it, and I can’t wait for BG Nation to hear what we’ve been working on.”

With the release of So Help Me God also comes Gilbert’s newest single headed to Country radio on November 14, “Heaven By Then” with Blake Shelton featuring Vince Gill. Co-written with Brock Berryhill, Michael Hardy, Jake Mitchell, Randy Montana, Hunger Phelps and Taylor Phillips, the album opener highlights a way of life that can often feel like it’s disappearing, as the pace of everyday life continues to speed up.

When they pave all the dirt roads
And John Deeres are dinosaurs
When the last back 40 gets sold
And young boys don’t open doors
When you can’t hunt a white tail
And keep what you reel in
Well, I hope I’m in heaven by then

No, I don’t wanna go today but I don’t wanna live
Down here at a place that thinks that that place don’t exist
There comes a day this country’s somewhere country don’t fit in
Hell, I hope I’m in heaven by then

“We were on a writing retreat in Texas that we do every year, and everybody was out on the porch. I don’t remember who threw a word in here or there and who didn’t, so we ended up with a bunch of writers on ‘Heaven By Then,’” Gilbert notes. “And I love songs like that. It came out of a conversation. A guitar ended up in HARDY’s lap, which is usually a good sign that it’s about to turn into something special. I think we all knew that as it was being written. It came to life that night.

“To have Blake Shelton and Vince Gill on the song meant so much to me. Those two brought so much to the table and gave it a voice I didn’t have. We were all in separate places when we recorded, but it was a cool way for everyone to put their spin on it. They just did what felt natural and sonically you hear that,” he concludes.

As the Son Of The Dirty South Tour with “Son Of The Dirty South” collaborator Jelly Roll continues tonight, Gilbert’s co-headlining tour with Five Finger Death Punch kicks off November 9 in Grand Rapids, Michigan and continues through December 17, wrapping in Las Vegas, Nevada. For tickets and more information, visit BrantleyGilbert.com.

As a longtime supporter and advocate for service men and women, Gilbert continues championing veterans through his latest partnership with Nine Line Apparel for an exclusive shirt design, which will benefit Nine Line Foundation.

Nine Line Foundation is a charitable organization dedicated to meeting the financial and specialized needs of severely injured soldiers and their families. In combat, Nine Line is an emergency medevac request and is often the difference between life and death for the most severely wounded soldiers. Since 2013, Nine Line Foundation’s mission has been to serve in a similar manner, offering a lifeline once wounded veterans return stateside.

The exclusive design can be purchased on a t-shirt for $25.99, long sleeve for $29.99 or hoodie for $42.99. For more information, visit NineLineApparel.com.
