CRAFT RECORDINGS REISSUES THE STEELDRIVERS' SOPHOMORE TITLE, RECKLESS, AVAILABLE OCTOBER 12TH FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER ON VINYL

Craft Recordings is pleased to announce the first-ever vinyl release of the critically acclaimed sophomore album from The SteelDrivers, Reckless. Picking up where the band's eponymous debut leaves off, Reckless (first released in 2010) is the Nashville group's last album with singer/songwriter Chris Stapleton at the helm, who left the band later that same year to pursue his solo career. The album earned The SteelDrivers two GRAMMY® nominations--for "Best Bluegrass Album" and "Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals," courtesy of its song "Where Rainbows Never Die"--and saw the band continue to push the boundaries of bluegrass incorporating experimental aspects from other genres, including blues and Southern soul.

The SteelDrivers' story began in the late summer of 2005, when Tammy Rogers, multi-instrumentalist Mike Henderson, bass player Mike Fleming, banjo player Richard Bailey, and singer/guitarist Chris Stapleton first convened after a series of songwriting sessions between Henderson and Stapleton. What began as a casual get-together to jam, became a fully committed band that signed with Rounder Records in 2007. Since that time, The SteelDrivers' innovative, soulful brand of bluegrass has made them one of the most successful bands on the contemporary bluegrass scene.

Reckless was produced by Luke Wooten (who also produced the debut album) and includes live favorites such as "Where Rainbows Never Die" and "Ghosts of Mississippi." The genre boundaries pushed in their self-titled debut are stretched further here, as The SteelDrivers imbue their Nashville bluegrass style with a dosing of traditional blues and Southern soul.

Since Reckless' 2010 release, the band--now consisting of frontman Kelvin Damrell, fiddler Tammy Rogers, bassist Mike Fleming, mandolinist Brent Truitt and banjoist Richard Bailey--has released two more albums, including, most recently, 2015's The Muscle Shoals Recordings, which reached #1 on the Billboard Bluegrass chart, won the band a GRAMMY® Award for Best Bluegrass Album and also received IBMA nominations for Album of the Year and Song of the Year ("Long Way Down").

The band are currently on an extensive North American tour--see below for dates and more information.

THE STEELDRIVERS AND BLUEGRASS UNDERGROUND CELEBRATE A DECADE'S WORTH OF MUSIC AND ACCOLADES

GRAMMY® winners The SteelDrivers perform at The Caverns for Bluegrass Underground as the music series celebrates their eighth season and 10 year anniversary on August 17

Who: GRAMMY® winners The SteelDrivers

What: 10th anniversary celebraton of SteelDrivers and Bluegrass Underground

Where: The Caverns, 555 Charlie Roberts Road in Pelham, TN 37366

When: Sunday, August 17

GRAMMY® award winning band The SteelDrivers will perform at The Caverns in Pelham, Tennessee on August 17. The underground "performance hall," known as The Cave, will host Bluegrass Underground's 10th anniversary celebration, along with The SteelDrivers' own milestone of 10 strong years of highly acclaimed albums with numerous awards. Doors open at 6 p.m. with show time at 7 p.m. Tickets are available now and can be purchased here.

“It’s hard to believe it’s been ten years since our first album,” band co-founder, lead singer and fiddle player Tammy Rogers muses. “And yet, even with all the change and transition, we still have the same joy and enthusiasm that we did in the beginning. Even as the trajectory changes, the story continues to unfold.” The SteelDrivers recently announced the addition of new lead singer Kelvin Damrell from Berea, Kentucky.

Only Nashville could give birth to a band like The SteelDrivers: a talented group of seasoned musicians - each distinguished in his or her own right. The group's bluegrass roots combine with country and soul influences to create a refreshing, decidingly contemporary sound. This is new music with an old feeling. The SteelDrivers fan, Vince Gill, describes the band's fusion as simply as "an incredible combination."

The innovative, soulful bluegrass band The SteelDrivers released their fourth Rounder Records recording The Muscle Shoals Recordings in 2015. The album reached #1 on the Billboard Bluegrass Chart and received a GRAMMY® award for "Best Bluegrass Album." Earlier this year, The SteelDrivers re-released their 2008 self-titled debut album on vinyl.

The band's recent tour dates have wow'd critics, who praise the band's "gutsy, gritty, bluegrass songs" (Juli Thanki, The Tennessean). Writing in the Philadelphia Inquirer Ad Amorosi declared, "You can call it power-bluegrass or country soul, but whatever you call it, Nashville's SteelDrivers have bushels of it." GABE DIXON ADDED TO LINEUP FOR “150 YEARS OF ST. BERNARD ACADEMY" BENEFIT CONCERT AT THE HISTORIC RYMAN AUDITORIUM ON APRIL 18

Lineup includes The SteelDrivers, Rodney Crowell, Charles Kelley, Zach Seabaugh
and Aberdeen Green

Singer-songwriter Gabe Dixon is set to perform for "The Stars Salute St. Bernard Academy" benefit concert along with previously announced performers The SteelDrivers, Rodney Crowell, Charles Kelley, Zach Seabaugh and Aberdeen Green. The event will take place at the historic Ryman Auditorium on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 and will benefit Music Health Alliance. Limited tickets are available at the Ryman Box Office.

Gabe Dixon released his sophomore solo album, Turns To Gold, in April 2016 on his own Rolling Ball Records. Paste Magazine called it “heart-wrenchingly honest,” and No Depression said it’s “simply an exceptional album” with “all the makings of a big breakthrough.” Gabe's music has also been featured in Rolling Stone, American Songwriter and Elmore Magazine, and he has made several live television performances, including "Jimmy Kimmel LIVE!," "The Late Show with Craig Ferguson" and "Last Call with Carson Daly."

The three-hour benefit concert will feature special guests and unique collaborations. The legendary Rodney Crowell will take the stage with an acoustic quartet, including a Celtic harpist, to perform music from his newly released album Closer Ties. With acts ranging from the "soulgrass" group The SteelDrivers to Lady Antebellum's Charles Kelley to exciting newcomers Zach Seabaugh and Aberdeen Green, it will be a night to remember at the historical Ryman Auditorium.

The concert is a celebration of St. Bernard Academy (SBA), the city’s very first elementary school founded by Sister Mary Catherine McAuley of the Sisters of Mercy. SBA joins Fisk University, St. Cecilia and Montgomery Bell Academy as the four oldest schools in Tennessee. Artists will perform short sets accompanied by Nashville’s premier house band, as well as surprise pairings and more special guests to be announced.

“St. Bernard Academy is home to many students whose parents are involved in the Nashville music community and we are thrilled to be able to be a small part of the school’s storied history,” says Tammy King, founding member of The SteelDrivers and parent of a St. Bernard Academy student. “This school is steeped in tradition and history, just like Nashville, and we have loved being a part of the esteemed institution,” she added.

The 2016-2017 school year marks the 150th anniversary of St. Bernard Academy’s founding by the Sisters of Mercy. The entire school year has been filled with activities to honor the legacy of excellence set forth by the Sisters of Mercy, and to celebrate the many years ahead.

Music Health Alliance will be the recipient of a donation in honor of the performing artists that will be presented during a special recognition by members of the SBA student body.
